In the mid-17th century, the present façade was completed. In the 19th century, the Jewish family of the Vivantes settled in the palazzo, initially as a tenant, giving the building its second name. In the first half of the 20th century, the building suffered a prolonged degradation until the new owners carried out an important restoration in the 1990s.

Neumayer Channel The Neumayer Channel Neumayer Channel () is a channel 16 miles (26 km) long in a NE-SW direction and about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) wide, separating Anvers Island from Wiencke Island and Doumer Island, in the Palmer Archipelago. In He was named both "Zahiruddin" and "Khalil Ahmad", but the second name was what he became known by. After the Reconquista, the territories of the two historical sees of Basti and Ancient Acci were united on 21 May 1492 as the modern Diocese of Guadix, a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Granada. A collegiate church, the Colegiata de Nuestra Señora Santa María de la Encarnación, Baza, was established at Basti/Baza. This was reluctant to accept rule from Guadix. It is located in Via del Seminario, between piazza di Sant'Ignazio and the Pantheon in the ancient Campus Martius and in the second sector of the present-day Colonna rione, not far from Via del Corso. Jacob van Maerlant is the modern name of a medieval Dutch author, who called himself Jacob van Merlant. Merlant was the name of a harbour at the island of Oost-Voorne, which was part of the County of Holland (and Zeeland), where the viscount of Zeeland held residence. In the 14th century Merlant disappeared from the map and became a part of the city of Brielle, also known as Den Briel. In the year 1261 or shortly after Jacob got a job as a 'custos' at the church of Saint Martin at Merlant, from which he took his second name.

Leptopleuron is an extinct genus of procolophonid that lived in the dry lands during the late Triassic in Elgin of northern Scotland and was the first to be included in the clade of Procolophonidae. First described by English paleontologist and biologist Sir Richard Owen, Leptopleuron is derived from two Greek bases, leptos for "slender" and pleuron for "rib," describing it as having slender ribs. The fossil is also known by a second name, Telerpeton, which is derived from the Greek bases tele for "far off" and herpeton for "reptile." In Scotland, Leptopleuron was found specifically in the Lossiemouth Sandstone Formation.

The Point's European history began as part of a land grant by Governor Macquarie to Captain John Piper in 1820. Piper had control of customs and all harbour matters, a lucrative position which enabled him to vastly increase the size of his land holding and build the finest house then in Sydney on the Point. He named it Henrietta Villa (after the second name of Governor Macquarie's wife, Elizabeth) and it quickly became the most prestigious social venue in town. However, Piper's flamboyant and extravagant lifestyle exceeded even his resources and he was soon deeply in debt.

The Swaminarayan Sampradaya, founded in 1801, takes its name from its founder, Swaminarayan, also known as Sahajanand Swami. Swaminarayan was born on 3 April 1781 in the village of Chhapaiya in present- day Uttar Pradesh, India. After his parents’ death, he renounced his home at the age of 11 and traveled for 7 years as a child yogi around India before settling in the hermitage of Ramanand Swami, a Vaishnava religious leader in present-day Gujarat. Ramanand Swami initiated him as Sahajanand Swami on 28 October 1800 and appointed him to be his successor and the leader of the sampradaya in 1801, giving him the second name, Narayan Muni.

Nagara (), also known as Dionysopolis (Διονυσόπολις), was an ancient city in the northwest part of India intra Gangem (India within the Ganges), distinguished in Ptolemy by the title ἡ καὶ Διονυσόπολις 'also Dionysopolis'. It also appears in sources as Nagarahara, and was situated between the Kabul River and the Indus, in present-day Afghanistan. Elsie Queen Myers was born in London on 4 November 1908, the daughter of the novelist Leo Myers and his American-born wife Elsie Mellen Palmer; her sister Eveleen was born in 1910. Her paternal grandparents were the writer Frederic W. H. Myers and the photographer Eveleen Tennant; her maternal grandfather was General William Jackson Palmer of Delaware, from whose wife Mary "Queen" Palmer, née Mellen, she received her second name. Her father frequented writers and artists including members of the Bloomsbury Group, the sculptor Frank Dobson and the painter Cedric Morris. During the succeeding centuries many more Arab tribes moved from southern Iraq to Khuzestan; as a result, Khuzestan gained the second name Arabistan, and became extensively Arabized. Przed Kościołem Norbertanek Walery Eljasz (second name Radzikowski adopted later in life) studied painting in 1856-62 at the School of Fine Arts in Kraków (known today as the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts) mainly at the atelier of famous Władysław Łuszczkiewicz. He continued his studies in Munich for three years in 1862-65 before his return in 1866. While in Munich, after convalescing from typhoid fever, Eljasz worked on behalf of the Polish insurrectionist Rząd Narodowy helping volunteers heading back to Poland for the January Uprising against the foreign yoke. After his return to Kraków, Eljasz served as teacher of fine arts at local schools including at the Gimnazjum of St. Anne in 1872-91.

Gold Hill was settled in the 1830s, and—despite being in the southern reaches of the territory mined for gold in the 1840s Alabama Gold Rush—was not named for the mineral, but rather for an early settler named Goldsmith. In the 1870s, Gold Hill received a second name, Gold Ridge, after confusion between the railroad stops at Gold Hill and nearby Camp Hill led the postal administration to rename the Gold Hill post office. Wellington Square, also known as Kudnartu (and formerly Kudnarto), is a public square in the Adelaide suburb of North Adelaide, South Australia, in the City of Adelaide. It is roughly at the centre of the largest of the three grids which comprise North Adelaide. It is one of six squares designed by the founder of Adelaide, Colonel William Light, who was Surveyor-General at the time, in his 1837 plan of the Adelaide city centre and North Adelaide. The square was named in 1837 by the Street Naming Committee after the Duke of Wellington, and in 2003 assigned a second name in the language of the original inhabitants, Kaurna, Kudnartu, as part of the dual naming initiative by the Adelaide City Council.

Opened on 12 October 1946 by Estrada de Ferro Sorocabana, the station had two official names: General Sampaio and Comandante Sampaio, both in tribute to General Antônio de Sampaio, hero of the Paraguayan War and patron of the infantry of the Brazilian Army, being the 2nd second name who prevailed. The original station was built where the current Viaduct Presidente Tancredo Neves is located, in 1986. In 1971, Ferrovia Paulista S/A (FEPASA) absorbed EFS, and remodeled the West Line, and Comandante Sampaio station was rebuilt on 25 January 1979. Besides FEPASA had expropriated an area in front of the main access of the station for the construction of a bus terminal, the work wasn't executed and the area became a car park.

Muhammad Abdul-Hayy Siddiqui (Urdu/Arabic: محمّد عبدالحي صدیقی), writing under the pen-name Bekhud Badayuni (Urdu/Persian: بےخود بدایونی), was one of the leading Urdu poets of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. It is customary for Urdu poets to assume a pen-name (takhallus) that can be employed as a pun in the final couplet of every ghazal, often combined with a second name that denotes the poet's place of origin. In this case, "Bekhud", the pen- name means beside oneself (with joy or grief), out of one's mind; in ecstasy, transported, enraptured, intoxicated; senseless, delirious, commonly used in the context of spiritual ecstasy, and is paired with "Badayuni", which indicates ties to the city of Badayun.

Manahi Nitama Paewai (8 June 1920 – 10 October 1990), also known as Doc Paewai, was a New Zealand doctor, rugby player, local politician and community leader. A Māori from the Ngāti Kahungunu and Rangitāne iwi, he was born near Makirikiri Marae in Hawke's Bay. He was probably the son of Boethius the Praetorian prefect of Italy who was put to death by Emperor Valentinian III in 454, and probably the father of the famous philosopher Boethius; if this identification is correct, he died not long after 487, for Boethius is known to have been orphaned as a young boy and adopted by the aristocrat Quintus Aurelius Memmius Symmachus. Boethius' career can be derived from a consular diptych preserved in Brescia. He was praefectus urbi of Rome (date unknown), then Praetorian prefect of Italy at some point between 480 and 487, when he was appointed consul (not recognised in the East), praefectus urbi for the second time and patricius. This diptych records his second name abbreviated NAR.

Vakhtang was born in 1761 into the family of Heraclius II, King of Kakheti (and of Kartli after 1762), and his third wife Darejan née Princess Dadiani. He was a namesake of his late half-brother, Vakhtang (died in 1756), and also bore the second name, Almaskhan. After the death of his brother Levan in 1781, Vakhtang succeeded him to the princely appanage in the mountainous Aragvi valley, for which he codified the criminal and family law (განჩინება ბარისა და მთიურთა ადგილთა, The Regulations for the Lowlands and Highlands) in 1782. In September 1795, Vakhtang fought in his father's ranks against the invading Iranian army of Agha Muhammad Khan at the battle of Krtsanisi in the course of which he commanded the last stand of his highlanders on the approaches of Tbilisi.

The wheel's prevalent use in catching salmon, (in particular, salmon species Chinook, Chum, Coho, Sockeye, and Pink) and other anadromous species of fish, has given fish wheels their second name as salmon wheels. Although salmon were prioritized by commercial fishers and Indigenous peoples (albeit for different reasons,) other fish such as steelhead trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), ooligan (Thaleichthys pacificus), and lamprey (Lampetra tridentata) were also considered valuable catch. While the fish wheel is best known for its presence on the Northwestern coast of North America, there is debate whether the technology arrived via Asian migrants who had come to labor in the gold fields, by Scottish and Russian migrants, or was a potentially Scandinavian invention sometime during the turn of the twentieth century. Gilbert's potoroo was one of first species noticed as disappearing after British colonisation, and remarkable in its rediscovery at the end of the twentieth century. The relict population at Two Peoples Bay, around forty individuals, had survived the factors that caused the mass decline of Australian mammals in a critical weight range of species smaller and larger than themselves. The earliest records of the species are found in the letters and field notes of John Gilbert, repeated by Gould and later authors, as the only source of information on the living species. John Gould published the existing name in the Nyungar language as "Grul-gyte" (1841) and later "Ngil-gyte" (1863), the second name matching Gilbert's own field notes as the name reported to him at King George Sound.

The Atchafalaya Basin Bridge, also known as the Louisiana Airborne Memorial Bridge,KATC; Bridge has second name - Retrieved 18 April 2013 is a pair of parallel bridges in the U.S. state of Louisiana between Baton Rouge and Lafayette which carries Interstate 10 over the Atchafalaya Basin. With a total length of or 18.2 miles, it is the 3rd longest bridge in the US, the 2nd longest on the interstate system, and fourteenth-longest in the world by total length. The bridge was opened to the public in 1973, construction was said to have begun in 1971. At the time of its completion, it was the longest bridge in the United States. The bridge includes two exits: one for Whiskey Bay (Louisiana Highway 975) and another for Butte La Rose (LA 3177).

Bach was an influential composer working at a time of transition between his father's Baroque style and the Classical style that followed it. While Ferrier was there, Calvin was awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, and he also met Carolyn Tompkins, the pair marrying in Edinburgh in 1962. Arriving in New Zealand in 1970 as Victoria University’s first Chair of Organic Chemistry, Ferrier continued to lead work on the monosaccharides, specialising in their use as starting materials for the synthesis of non-carbohydrate compounds of pharmaceutical interest. He had previously clarified the mechanism of the Fischer glycosidation and discovered an allylic rearrangement reaction of glycals, now known as the Ferrier rearrangement – the first of two reactions that bear his name. Many of Ferrier's best discoveries were made by following up unexpected chemical observations, which often led him into uncharted territory. His second ‘name’ reaction, the Ferrier carbocyclization, was the result of this approach.

Hornung knew Doyle's sister, Constance ("Connie") Aimée Monica Doyle (1868–1924), whom he had met when he visited Portugal. He was the eldest son of Josiah and Sarah Evans of Pant-yr-onen, near Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthenshire, where he was born on 5 July 1836. As a boy he witnessed something of the "Rebecca Riots", and went to school at the neighbouring village of Llechryd. He spent several of his earlier years with his grandfather, Jonah Evans, at Pen-yr-Herber, whence, some twenty years later, he adopted his second name. Initially, the town was called just Fiesso, from the Latin Flexum, meaning a curve formed by the river anciently called the "Medoacus" (currently known as Brenta). The second name Artico was added later on, in honour of the lawyer Angelo Maria Artico, the creator of the last great deviation of the river which was necessary to safeguard the town from floods as the breaking of the levees by the river Brenta happened very often, before. In the past, this town was important as a religious center: it is recorded that a priest was appointed even by the bishop of Nicosia, in Cyprus, that was a dependence of the Republic of Venice, at the time. The territory was divided in two large parts inclusive of many other lands which nowadays belong to nearby municipalities, such as Dolo, Stra, Vigonza.

In his memoirs Sir Francis Galton records that on their return they were much visited by the Russian nobility at their cottage in Old Brompton Road. Soon after leaving Moscow at the beginning of her travels Lucy became pregnant, and in November 1848, at the small Russian military outpost of Kapal in what is now eastern Kazakhstan, she gave birth to a son whom she and Thomas named Alatau Tamchiboulac Atkinson. His first name, Alatau, came from the nearby Alatau Mountains and his second name Tamchiboulac (a 'dropping spring') came from the Tamshybulak Spring in Kapal famous for its healing properties. After resting for six months at Kapal, the family continued their travels, only returning to England in 1858, having journeyed for close to 40,000 miles in some of the most inhospitable landscapes in the world.

Victoria Square, also known as Tarntanyangga (formerly Tarndanyangga) (Kaurna Name: Tarndanyangga), is the central square of five public squares in the Adelaide city centre, South Australia. It is one of six squares designed by the founder of Adelaide, Colonel William Light, who was Surveyor-General at the time, in his 1837 plan of the City of Adelaide which spanned the River Torrens Valley, comprising the city centre (South Adelaide) and North Adelaide. The square was named on 23 May 1837 by the Street Naming Committee after Princess Victoria, then heir presumptive of the British throne, and in 2003 assigned a second name in the language of the original inhabitants, Kaurna, Tarndanyangga (later changed to Tarntanyangga), as part of the dual naming initiative by the Adelaide City Council. The square has been upgraded and modified several times through its lifetime.

His name reflects his complex heritage: Ioan was chosen as his Romanian name; his second name was the Hungarian Gyurika, but it was recorded as Ghiurico in his birth certificate and personal documents ever since—as Pascu later indicated, this was because neither his father nor the notary were familiar with Hungarian phonology.

The tablet containing the list is fragmentary; only recording the first three Persian rulers (Cyrus, Cambyses and Darius I) before breaking off, with surviving fragments not resuming until the line that records Darius III (336–330 BC). Darius III's line is immediately preceded by a damaged line of text which can be read as "[... ša M]U šá-nu-ú mNi-din-dE[N]", restored and translated as "[royal name] [whose] second name (is) Nidin-dBêl". The damaged line in the Uruk King List is the only known surviving reference to a king by the name Nidin-Bel.

A scriber block or surface height gauge A scriber block is used to lay out lines at a set height from the base, thus its second name surface height gauge or just surface gauge. Decouz is the second name in Column 17. At the Battle of Leipzig on 16–19 October 1813, Decouz led the 3rd Division in the I Young Guard Corps under Marshal Nicolas Oudinot. The 4,731-man division consisted of the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th Voltigeur Regiments and the 1st Battalion of the 12th Voltigeurs. Each of the three artillery batteries had six 6-pounder System Year XI cannons and two 5 ½-inch howitzers. At 2:00 pm on 16 October, Napoleon ordered a general attack and Oudinot's corps rolled south from Wachau toward Anenhayn. Though the Allies were pressed back, the hoped-for decisive victory eluded Napoleon.

She was the daughter of Jonathan Napela who was an early convert to Mormonism, She was also three-quarters Hawaiian, and also known as Harriet Richardson, after her mother's maiden name. Samuel and Harriet Parker had nine children. Their first daughter was Mary Kihilani Parker (1871–1895). The second daughter, Eva Kalanikauleleiaiwi Parker (1872–1922), married her cousin James Frank Woods, the son of Parker's sister Mary. The third daughter, Helen Umiokalani Parker (1874–1929), married Carl Widemann, son of Hermann Widemann. Samuel's fourth child, John Palmer Parker III (1875–1893), was adopted by John Palmer Parker II and married Elizabeth Jane Lanakila Dowsett, known to later generations as "Aunt Tootsie", on April 18, 1893, at the Parker home in Honolulu. They had one daughter Annie Thelma Kahiluonapuaopiilani Parker March 17, 1894, who generally known by her second name, as Thelma; John III died less than two months later, on May 8, 1894.

The work focuses on the last moments of Digenis Akritas. Sikelianos uses the acritic cycle (frontiersmen tales) for the historical material (i.e. the conditions and some historical figures of the time, such as the Byzantine Emperors Michael III and Basil I) and the image of Digenis, whom he places as leader of a heretic group of paulician warriors, adjusting and transforming the historical material according to his own dramaturgical and ideological objectives (particularly the importance of the hero's tomb and other relevant issues). Mainly due to its second name, this tragedy has been associated with the third part of the lost Promethean trilogy by Aeschylus, Prometheus Unbound, with Digenis being presented by Sikelianos with the same characteristics: a social and cultural fighter - revolutionary for the good of the people – Prometheus, more or less, offers culture to mankind – a hero that links Christ and Prometheus, while there are other scholars’ opinions that consider Hercules top have served as a model, as well as Oedipus (mainly in relation to the issue of the initiation of the hero and his death - as the return to Mother Earth).

Her second name is recorded in writings by Maciej Stryjkowski as Danmila and Teodor Narbutt as Damila. It has been suggested these names are misread versions of Danutė, a name derived from Daniel. Another interpretation is that historians confused Danutė of Lithuania, daughter of Kęstutis, with Elzbieta. As an alliance, the marriage was significant because passages to and from western Europe had to pass through Masovia; it can be seen as an attempt to revive Grand Duke Traidenis' and his daughter Gaudemunda's link with Masovia in the 1270s. The marriage's importance is attested by Elzbieta's dowry: 720 Kraków silver marks and nine marks of gold – three times more than an ordinary recorded dowry of the time. This marriage probably took place about 1316, when Gediminas supported Wacław during a civil war in the divided Duchy of Masovia. After Wacław's death in 1336, Elzbieta managed her own wealth. She is mentioned for the last time in 1361, when her brother Kęstutis escaped from Marienburg and sought refuge at his sister's house; historians put her date of death at around 1364. In 1337 Elzbieta's daughter Anna, first mentioned in late 1323, married Henry of Żagań, in modern-day western Poland.

Juno Moneta, the second name associating the Roman goddess Juno with the goddess Moneta who was worshiped at some locations outside Rome, was regarded as the protectress of the city's funds. Money was coined in her temple for over four centuries, before the mint was moved to a new location near the Colosseum during the reign of emperor Domitian. Thus, moneta came to mean "mint" (mint itself being a corruption of moneta) in Latin, which was used in written works of ancient Roman writers such as Ovid, Martial, Juvenal, and Cicero, and was the origin of the English words "monetary" and "money". Cicero suggests that the name Moneta derived from the verb "monere" (to warn) because during an earthquake, a voice from this temple had demanded the expiatory sacrifice of a pregnant sow, connecting to the old Roman legend that Juno's sacred geese warned the Roman commander Marcus Manlius Capitolinus of the approach of the Gauls in 390 BC. But modern scholars reject this explanation, because it is clear that "Moneta" was the name of a goddess who was worshiped in some places outside Rome, and when her worship was transferred to Rome, she was equated with Juno.

Each chapter deals with one child's views on how to adjust to their new home (like Woody's attempts to be a comedian like Woody Allen, Hardy wanting to be a detective like the Hardy boys, Hannah feeling left out of the family, Bainbridge struggling in vain to pull together a local kids' football team) and the collective attempts of the children to obtain a pet, despite how their parents argue with ten children, they should not have a pet.

It seems that he had another younger brother or half-brother named Manuel José Saravia y Perdigos or Manuel José Sarabia y Perdigos (Oliva de la Frontera, Spain, 1790–1852), who also fought in Spain from the age of 18 (after 1808) against Napoleon, became a lieutenant in a Spanish naval expedition in Napoleonic Denmark, the same as his brother, being also integrated in the Russian Army after the 1812 Battle of Borodino, much like his brother, became a general of the Russian Army in 1824, aged 34, under Tsar Alexander I, Emperor of Russia from 1801 to 1825, much earlier than that José Antonio, and is reported as dying in 1852, much earlier also than his elder brother or half-brother José Antonio. Villanueva del Fresno, where José Antonio was born, and Oliva de la Frontera, where Manuel José was born, are neighbouring villages in the Province of Badajoz, near Olivenza, and there is only a gap of five years between their respective birthdays. It seems that the second name of José Antonio was also Perdigos, but we know mostly about rumours mentioning him as born of a single mother and being adopted by his grandparents, named Perdigos.

In 1996, upon the advice of (then-)President Kim Young-Sam, Lee Hong-Koo formally entered the New Korea Party to run as a candidate for that party in the then-upcoming National Assembly elections. The New Korea Party was a rebranded version of the coalition of conservative and moderate forces that had come together in 1990 with the mergers of Kim Young-Sam's centrist party (core support area: Pusan and South Kyongsang), Kim Jong-Pil's (core support area: Chungcheong), and Roh Tae-Woo’s conservative party (core support area: Taegu and North Kyongsang), the latter of which was the clearest successor to the military-oriented regimes of the 1960s to 1980s. The party’s rebranding as ‘New Korea’ came following the departure of Kim Jong-Pil's party from this coalition in 1995. (The New Korea Party was renamed the Grand National Party in 1998 and essentially endured through the mid 2010s, with Kim Jong-Pil and his followers also returning by 2006, until the political crisis of 2016 under Park Geun-Hye caused severe divisions that broke apart the successor Saenuri party.) Lee Hong-Koo was elected a member of the National Assembly in the April 1996 general election, as the second name on the national party list for the New Korea Party.

His first child by her Thomas was born in 1854 in Italy. Thomas and Georgina had five more children and in about 1866 moved to Toronto, Canada where they remained for the rest of their lives. Alice whose name was now Macdonald, a widow, is shown as living with them in the 1871 Toronto Census.Year: 1871; Census Place: St Andrews Ward, Toronto West, Ontario; Roll: C-9969; Page: 17; Family No: 51 It seems that in spite of his considerable income from his Narborough Estates Thomas was unable to manage. In 1861 he tried to sell part of the estate saying in the advertisement that “they are held for the life of Thomas John Pares now aged 41 years.” In the same advertisement he offers to sell his life insurance policy.

This tumultuous transition of power from Artaxerxes IV to Darius III does leave sufficient room for a short- lived Babylonian revolt and there were more well-recorded contemporary uprisings in the Persian Empire; notably, Egypt was in open revolt under Pharaoh Khabash. Darius III himself was originally the satrap of Armenia, gaining the throne after having been in open revolt against Artaxerxes IV. Nidin-Bel's potential rule of Babylon can be dated by the information in the king list. The king lists accords Darius III a reign of five years, which must refer to 335/334–331/330 BC. As Darius III was in control of the city in 335 BC, Nidin-Bel's revolt and brief rule over Babylon, if historical, must have taken place in the autumn of 336 BC and/or in the subsequent winter of 336/335 BC. As the text of the king list indicates ("whose second name is..."), Nidin- Bêl appears to have been a assumed regnal name and it may be a corrupted or colloquial form of Nidintu-Bêl. If Nidin-Bel was a real Babylonian rebel, he might have assumed the name in honour of Nebuchadnezzar III's anti-Persian rebellion nearly two hundred years prior.
