John "Jock" Fahey (22 October 1911 – 27 June 1936) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). In 1933, a premiership year for South Melbourne, Fahey played six games. He played 13 games in 1934 but missed the finals series after he scalded his foot at work.

Gotwald, p.60 Luther's brother, Jacob H. Gotwald, was the chief surgeon on board the ship Keystone State under the command of Rear-Admiral Samuel Francis Du Pont in the fight at Charleston, South Carolina. His ship was participating in the blockade of Charleston Harbor, when, on January 31, 1863, a Confederate shell hit the ship's boiler, causing it to explode and kill several of its crew. Jacob H. They healed, now sporting large patches of white fur; some looked as if they had been scalded. The fallout produced by the Castle Bravo test was unexpectedly strong. The 33-year-old's body was found in the basement of her home at Barwell Avenue, badly scalded, beaten, with broken bones, and having been shot with air gun pellets. She died of septic shock from infection due to untreated burns. Hutt was convicted of murder in 2013.

About 40% of Jones's body had been burned.Crown closes case in Mark Hutt murder trial, CBC News, Ottawa, May 31, 2013 Although Jones spoke to a handful of people on the phone after the scalding, including her mother, she didn't tell anyone she was hurt nor call 911 herself. The Crown attorney argued Jones was protecting Hutt because of a “trauma bond”. Friends of Jones made a third-party complaint to police alleging Hutt’s abuse the day after Jones was scalded, but it was left uninvestigated until after her body was found.

Fried Lao Shu Fen / Fried Yin Zhen Fen / Fried Short Rice Noodles The noodles may be stir-fried, scalded and flavored with a mixture of sauces, cooked in soup or cooked dry in a clay-pot. As with most Chinese noodles, it can be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner as a main course or supplementing a rice meal. Many Chinese restaurants, hawkers and roadside stalls serve the noodle in various forms. One of the famous dishes that can be found widely in Southeast Asia is Clay-Pot Lao Shu Fen.

Although extremely unpleasant, weever stings are not generally dangerous and the pain will ease considerably within a few hours even if untreated. Complete recovery may take a week or more; in a few cases, victims have reported swelling and/or stiffness persisting for months after envenomation. First aid treatment consists of immersing the affected area in hot water (as hot as the victim can tolerate without being scalded), which will accelerate denaturation of the protein-based venom. Due to the walls being made of metal, and little ventilation for the heat or the smoke, the walls held the heat in the club like an oven. The heat from the fire was so intense, it not only scorched every plant in its path, but it rendered the soil sterile. S. aureus can cause a range of illnesses, from minor skin infections, such as pimples, impetigo, boils, cellulitis, folliculitis, carbuncles, scalded skin syndrome, and abscesses, to life-threatening diseases such as pneumonia, meningitis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, toxic shock syndrome, bacteremia, and sepsis. It is still one of the five most common causes of hospital-acquired infections and is often the cause of wound infections following surgery. Each year, around 500,000 patients in hospitals of the United States contract a staphylococcal infection, chiefly by S. aureus. Up to 50,000 deaths each year in the USA are linked with S. aureus infections.

In 2014, Dade CI prisoner Mark Joiner accused prison authorities of fatally torturing prisoner Darren Rainey, who was mentally ill, by scalding him in a shower.Brown, Julie K. Charles George Ellery was born in Perth on 6 June 1854 to William Charles and Sophia (née Dent), reputed to be the first female baby to be born to a settler in the Swan River Colony. Charles’ father William Charles Ellery was an American sailor who jumped ship at Fremantle. He married Sophia in 1847 and the couple had five boys, William, James, Charles George, Frederick, and Andrew, and a girl Amy Ann. The father obtained work as an engineer working on steamboats on the Swan River, but died in February 1860 after being scalded when the Lady Stirling exploded.

In May 2003, TV3 announced that former soccer player and journalist Eamon Dunphy had signed a contract to present the new show. Infectious conditions that can mimic Kawasaki disease include periorbital cellulitis, peritonsillar abscess, retropharyngeal abscess, cervical lymphadenitis, parvovirus B19, mononucleosis, rheumatic fever, meningitis, staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and Lyme disease.

Born at New Boston, New Hampshire, Hobby was appointed 3rd Assistant Engineer in 1848. He resigned on 21 June 1855, but was re-appointed 2nd Assistant Engineer on 4 June 1861. He served with distinction throughout the Civil War, and as 1st Assistant Engineer of , participated in an engagement with the Confederate ships and in Albemarle Sound on 5 May 1864. Although fearfully scalded when a shot from Albemarle cut Sassacus's steam pipes, Hobby remained at his post to control the engines, thus enabling the vessel to retire successfully from the action and preventing an explosion.

His adopted parents changed his surname to his adopted father's during a conflict between his junior club All Boys and Boca Juniors. Tevez has a distinctive burn scar that runs down his neck from his right ear to his chest. Although Dukes identified it as a separate entity, it is thought not to be different from scarlet fever caused by exotoxin-producing Streptococcus pyogenes after Keith Powell proposed equating it with the condition currently known as staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome in 1979. It was never associated with a specific pathogen, and the terminology is no longer in use.

Exfoliatin is a Staphylococcus aureus exotoxin that causes a blistering of the skin known as staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome, usually in infants. Exfoliatins are glutamate-specific serine proteases highly specific to desmoglein I, a cadherin (adhesion protein) in the desmosomes of the stratum granulosum that facilitates intercellular adhesion between keratinocytes. The resulting vesicle is an intraepidermal cleft located above the basal cells (suprabasal), between the stratum corneum and stratum spinosum. A very similar non-infectious condition is seen in the autoimmune skin disorder pemphigus vulgaris in which there is an IgG antibody against the cadherin desmoglein 3.

The escaping steam shook nearby office buildings, causing many occupants to immediately evacuate. A 51-year-old New Jersey woman, who worked a block from the site, died of a heart attack suffered while fleeing the disaster area. 45 people were injured, with two injured critically. The most seriously injured victims were a 23-year-old tow truck driver from Brooklyn, who was scalded over 80 percent of his body by the steam and had to be put in a medically induced coma, and his passenger, a 30-year-old woman, who was being driven back to Brooklyn after her car broke down.
