Robert O. "Bob" Naegele Jr. (1939–2018) was the founding owner of the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League. Naegele grew up in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and was a star goaltender at Minnetonka High School. A 1961 graduate of Dartmouth College, Naegele inherited his father's billboard company and eventually became wealthy in his own right. Later, he was the owner of Rollerblade, an in-line skate manufacturer, and prospered during the in-line skating craze of the 1980s and 1990s.

The Iowa Great Lakes Trails are a series of recreational trails in the Iowa Great Lakes area that cover almost 30 miles and give citizens and visitors a place to walk, bike, rollerblade, run, and cross-country ski. One end of the 14-mile "spine" of the trail begins in Milford and travels through Arnolds Park and Okoboji to Spirit Lake. The Liston B. Ramsey Regional Activity Center is a 7,826-seat multi-purpose arena in Cullowhee, in the U.S. state of North Carolina, and is home to the Western Carolina University Catamounts basketball and volleyball teams. It is also named "THE LAIR". It is a state owned facility (by the University) and offers the largest seating capacity inside the Charlotte–Atlanta–Knoxville triangle. In addition to the arena, the Ramsey Center includes five racquetball courts, two basketball courts, a walking/jogging track, and lighted outdoor rollerblade/skateboard facilities for students.

For young children there are two fenced-in and equipped play areas—one to the east of the lake and the other close to the southern entrance. In the western end of the park is a sports field and BMX track. The recently redeveloped BMX racing track is floodlit, and open to the public outside club times. In 2003, Uhas graduated from Hilliard Davidson High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. After graduation Uhas and his dad took a journey around the world in less than 80 days. Uhas attended Miami University but took a hiatus during his freshman year to pursue a career in stunt rollerblading in the San Diego area. After placing 7th in the North American World Championships in the Aggressive Skating Association, Uhas qualified as a professional and skated for sponsors including Team Rollerblade USA and Razor Skate.

Sven Boekhorst started skating in the early 1990s in Den Bosch, Netherlands. In 2000 he won every contest, which includes winning the Triple Crown (winning X-Games, Gravity Games and World Championships). In his years as a professional skater he also had a character in a videogame: Aggressive Inline, performed three weeks in a big theatre show on Broadway, NYC, with a theatre group from Amsterdam and got his own Rollerblade pro model "Sven Boekhorst" skate. After al the experiences from skating as a professional, Sven decided to take his career to the next level by starting SB Events.

During this time the Dual Box became one of the most recognized and successful frame designs in speed skating, with 45 athletes winning their Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the 2001 World Speed Skating Championship on the frames. Since 2003, the Rollerblade company has produced Dual Box frames under licence from Mogema and has specified Dual Box technology in their high-performance skate product lines. Today, following the dissolution of Mogema in 2006, Dual Box designer Diederik Hol's own company CadoMotus produces its own skating frames based on an evolution of the Dual Box tubular sidewall.

One of Yanhee's most famous sex change patients is Beautiful Boxer star Parinya Charoenphol, known publicly as Nong Toom. Nong Toom gained fame and fortune in 1998 as a champion kickboxer at Lumphini Stadium, but in 1999 arrived at Yanhe Hospital to undergo a full sex change operation, changing her male body to the female she currently is today. The hospital was also featured in an episode of National Geographic Channel's Taboo Series, in which a patient sought sex change surgery at Yanhee. Yanhee is also known for its famous "rollerblade girls," who zip through the hospital carrying patient documents and internal paperwork, wearing short skirts and rollerblades.

Minneapolis was the birthplace of Rollerblade and is a center for inline skating, as well as home to the most golfers per capita of any city in the U.S. Additionally, water skiing got its start on Lake Pepin, a lake southeast of the metropolitan area, located in the Mississippi River about downstream from Saint Paul. Some other sports teams gained their names from being in Minnesota before relocating. The Los Angeles Lakers get their name from once being based in Minneapolis, the City of Lakes. The Dallas Stars also derived their present name from their tenure as a Minnesota team, the Minnesota North Stars.

Mitchell Goosen (McDermott) is a teenager from California who loves to surf and rollerblade. His zoologist parents are given the opportunity for grant work in Australia for six months. Eager to accompany his parents to the surf-friendly shores of the South Pacific, he is dismayed to find out that he will not be joining them and instead will be living with his aunt and uncle in Cincinnati, Ohio, so as to finish the remainder of his high school semester. Dual Box or DualBox is the name for the tubular sidewall inline skating frame, which employs the mechanical properties of the tubular to optimize the performance of a frame or chassis that secures the wheels on an inline skate (a critical component of high performance skates). Designed in 1999 by Dutch Design Engineer Diederik Hol at Mogema, the Dual Box design was devised to optimize the elastic properties of inline skate frames (which the skater interprets as stiffness and feel, and contribute greatly to ride quality and power transmission) via the properties of the tubular sidewalls to enhance rigidity. The Dual Box design successfully eliminates the need for horizontal cross-bracing in inline skate frames, and provided progressive flexural feel for the skater rather than the isolated areas of varying stiffness which were inherent to many, more traditional double-void extrusion frames. Through a product partnership with the Mogema company, the Rollerblade professional racing team debuted the Dual Box frame to the world in 2001 after which time team athletes rode Dual Box frames across the finish line first in numerous Swiss Inline Cup, World Inline Cup and World Championship events.
