Ark rose to mainstream fame in the 1990s, and is one of the "Big Three of Rock" along with Nagar Baul and LRB, who were responsible for developing and popularizing rock music in Bangladesh in the 1990s.
On their 1970 album, Viva Tirado the group covered Herbie Hancock's jazz standard "Cantaloupe Island". The song was one of nine on the album, which included the hit single "Viva Tirado" that went gold. El Chicano continues to be active with a combination of original and new members. They performed on the 2009 PBS pledge break special, Trini Lopez Presents 'The Legends of Latin Rock' , along with Thee Midniters, Tierra, and Gregg Rolie (of Santana and Journey fame).

Kenny y los Eléctricos recorded their first album, Electrimanias, in 1981 on independent label New Age Records. Around this time new venues began to appear in Mexico. The band performed at Satellite Rock along with Ritmo Peligroso, Chac-Mool, Botellita de Jerez and Taxi and at Rockotitlán along with bands like Caifanes, Santa Sabina, Rostros Ocultos and Fobia. In 1983, the band recorded an album with Chela Braniff, Juan Navarro and Ricardo Ochoa on the independent Comrock label.

According to the United States Census Bureau in 2000, the CDP has a total area of 8.7 square miles (22.6 km2), all of it land. Salvia pentstemonoides typically grows in limestone rock along seeps or creeks, reaching up to 5 feet tall with square stems, often with long basal leaves in addition to opposite cauline leaves. The leaves are mistletoe-green colored, lancelike in shape, growing in a basal rosette. Numerous flowering stalks grow from the rosette, with inflorescences that are 8–12 inches long, having whorls of loosely packed flowers. The 1 inch flowers are beetroot-purple colored, with a .
Citadel Peak () is a peak of volcanic rock along the south side of Vaughan Glacier, approximately 9.6 km east of Mount Vaughan, in the Queen Maud Mountains. Mapped by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960–64. Its name was picked by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE), 1969–70; since the summit is composed of vertical rock slabs, its strange appearance being reminiscent of a castle or citadel.
Petros Filipidis Petros Filipidis (; also written as Petros Philippidis, born 31 December 1963 in Athens, Greece) is a Greek actor of modern times, who has appeared in many television series during the last two decades. In 1986, he graduated from the Karolos Koun School of Theatre. Filipidis has taken in many ancient Greek comedies, such as Thesmophoriazusae and The Birds. He achieved widespread fame starring in 1993 Mega Channel's comedy television series High Rock along with actor Tasos Halkias.
Fort Terán (sometimes Teran or Fort Turan) was a former Mexican military post and Texian settlement located in Tyler County in East Texas. The post was named after Mexican general Manuel Mier y Terán. Fort Terán was located at the head of navigation on the Neches River. The flat rock along the riverbed allowed it be crossed by three major trails between Mexican Texas and the United States: the Alabama Trace, the Coushatta Trace, and the Orcoquisac Trace (or Liberty-Nacogdoches Road).
In August 2014 they played at Merthyr Rock, along with Reel Big Fish and Anti-Flag. In late September/early October 2014, Blitz Kids had their own headline tour, supported by Natives and Scholars. The band announced a summer 2015 UK tour stating it would be the last for a while. On 3 July, it was announced that the band had broken up and that the summer tour was cancelled, but the band performed two farewell shows in October 2015.
Saint Helens is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington. Saint Helens is located east of the city of Castle Rock and along the North Fork Toutle River. Saint Helens is reached by traveling east of Castle Rock along Washington State Route 504, which is also known as the Spirit Lake Memorial Highway. The Saint Helens community takes its name from Mount St. Helens, which, in turn, was named by explorer George Vancouver after a friend of his, Baron St. Helens.
The band then started working with nationally renowned producer Rick Bonadio. The band was invited to record the live CD/DVD MTV Ao Vivo: 5 Bandas de Rock, along with four other bands of the so-called new generation of Brazilian rock: NX Zero, Moptop, Hateen and Forfun. This was an opportunity for the band to release a catchy new tune called "Polo"; a music video was made from the DVD footage and received considerable airplay on MTV. The song was a hit.
Steeple’s close proximity to Scoat Fell robs it of being one of the best fells in the area; the two fells are linked by the Steeple arête with a lowest height of 798 metres. The arête is stony and loose underfoot due to erosion and it is better to stick to the firmer rock along the crest. Scoat Fell is only 22 metres higher than Steeple but the short distance between them means that the higher dominates the lower significantly.

Rock marked by Ellicott in 1811, highlighted in red chalk Two years after Ellicott's survey, commissioners representing North Carolina and South Carolina marked a different large rock along the Chattooga River bank with the inscription "Lat 35 AD 1813 NC + S.C." as the juncture where the South Carolina and North Carolina state lines joined. The rock marked by the commissioners in 1813, rather than the rock marked by Ellicott in 1811, is often mistakenly called Ellicott Rock or Ellicott's Rock.
Toutle is an unincorporated community in Cowlitz County, Washington. Toutle is located east of Castle Rock along Washington State Route 504, which is also known as the Spirit Lake Memorial Highway. The Toutle community, similar to Toutle River, takes its name from the Hullooetell, a band of the Skillot - a Chinookan tribe. The Toutle community is part of the Toutle Lake School District, a K-12 school district of about 720 students that serves the communities of Toutle and Silver Lake, Washington.
Flow-like features have also been observed within a number of paterae, like Camaxtli Patera, suggesting that lava flows periodically resurface their floors. Ionian lava lakes are depressions partially filled with molten lava covered by a thin solidified crust. These lava lakes are directly connected to a magma reservoir lying below. Observations of thermal emission at several Ionian lava lakes reveal glowing molten rock along the patera margin, caused by the lake's crust breaking up along the edge of the patera.

During this time, the George W. Elder continued to build on its reputation for being a safe vessel. In 1905 however, this reputation vanished, when the George W. Elder, now 31 years old, struck a rock along the Columbia River and sank under of water. She was raised in May, 1906.
Many visitors pass by Egg Rock on boats as they travel between a popular boat rental establishment along the Sudbury River at Concord's South Bridge and the historic Old North Bridge. There is also a boat launch ramp at the Lowell Road bridge over the Concord River, about 300 meters downstream of Egg Rock. Depending on water levels, there are accessible landing spots nearby Egg Rock along the Sudbury River. Egg Rock is a popular picnic spot, with a few benches located on the higher ground.

The formation is a group of Late Paleocene to Late Eocene depositional basins in Wyoming and Utah. The Parachute Creek Member is a composed of oil shales from a shallow mountain lake that existed for around 20 million years.

It was turning point for The 69 Eyes, as they began their transformation from glam metal to gothic rock. Along with their change in musical direction, the band became more popular. It was recently re-released on Cleopatra Records for distribution within the US. The album features a cover song of Call Me, a popular song by the American rock band Blondie.
During the first explorations, Paolo Orsi could identify a system of defensive walls spaced at intervals by projections of rock along the northwest edge of the hill. Houses have been uncovered. Their quadrangular plan divided in a big rectangular space opened to world the outside and generally turned to the South; on this space there are other two square rooms, smaller than the rectangular one, that often have an added storey. Bwa Maen (translates as 'stone bow') shows the extreme folding of rock along the Neath Disturbance. Its dramatic appearance has long made Dinas Rock a destination for casual visitors, but its steep rocky flanks also attract rock climbers and gorge-walkers. Newtown Junction is the rail junction point where the Newtown Branch joins the SEPTA Main Line. The Warminster Line, West Trenton Line, and Lansdale/Doylestown Line all continue north toward Fern Rock along the old Reading trunk while the Fox Chase Line heads east toward Olney. North of Fox Chase, the line crossed over the West Trenton Line between the Meadowbrook and Bethayres stations and had its terminus in Newtown, hence the name Newtown Junction. Wall rock is the rock that constitutes the wall of an area undergoing geologic activity. Examples are the rock along the neck of a volcano, on the edge of a pluton that is being emplaced, along a fault plane, enclosing a mineral deposit, or where a vein or dike is being emplaced. In volcanoes, wall rock can often become broken off the wall and incorporated into the erupted volcanic rock as xenoliths. These xenoliths are important to geologists because they can come from rock units that are otherwise not exposed at the Earth's surface.

"Interstellar Overdrive" was one of the first psychedelic instrumental improvisations recorded by a rock band. It was seen as Pink Floyd's first foray into space rock (along with "Astronomy Domine"), although band members would later disparage this term. The oldest rocks in Sweden date to the Archean, more than 2.5 billion years ago. Archean crystalline basement rocks are restricted to a few areas in the far north and are mainly orthogneiss and paragneiss migmatite. Relatively few age studies had been conducted on the rocks by the late 1990s, although they are interpreted as being more than 2.7 billion years old. Studies on younger Paleoproterozoic intrusions in the Skellefte district suggest that the intrusions derived from the Archean parent rock along a line stretching 100 kilometers northeast from the area.

High Willhays is near the northwestern edge of Dartmoor, about south east of Meldon Reservoir and about south of the town of Okehampton. Although it is the highest point of the moor, it is relatively insignificant in comparison to most of the moor's tors, consisting of no more than a few low outcrops of rock along a north–south ridge. The largest outcrop is crowned with a cairn. The more impressive, but slightly lower, Yes Tor is about north along this ridge, which is known as "the roof of Devon".
Earl Marriott Secondary (EMS) is a public high school in the Vancouver suburb of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada and is part of School District 36 Surrey. It is referred to as the 'Home of the Mariners'. It is located on the edge of city limits, on 16 Avenue (which straddles the border between Surrey and White Rock). Along with Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School, it was, until the beginning of the 2017/2018 school year, one of the subjects of a proposal by the school district to increase school hours to cope with the overpopulation.

La Grasa de las Capitales is the second album by the Argentine Rock band Serú Girán, released in 1979. After its deeply criticized debut album Serú Girán, the band went in search for a different sound, one that could be closer to the fans' expectations. They grew distant from symphonic rock and became closer to rock while keeping a considerable jazz fusion element in the music, which also was present in the debut album, and to a lesser extent some progressive rock along the way. The album spurred three hit singles.

Along with his increasing success as a fine art landscape photographer, Baer continued with assignments as a commercial architectural photographer for several architect clients primarily throughout the Monterey Peninsula. He was the sole photographer for the exhibition, California Design 1910 in late 1974 at the Pasadena Conference Center; one of his landscape photographs graces the cover.
A. antoinei was described from a solitary fossil, which is a compression- impression fossil pair preserved in layers of soft sedimentary rock. Along with other well preserved insect fossils, the A. antoinei specimen was collected from layers of Late Oligocene lacustrine rock belonging to the "calcaire de Campagne Calavon" sediments. The material is exposed along the northern slopes of the Luberon mountains near Céreste in southern France. The sediments are reported as from a shallow paleolake that was formerly considered about 30 million year old and Rupelian in age.

Milan Rock () is a rock along the eastern margin of Land Glacier, southeast of Mount Hartkopf, in Marie Byrd Land, Antarctica. It is the southernmost outcrop near the head of the glacier. The feature was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and U.S. Navy aerial photography, 1959–65, and was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Frederick T. Milan, aviation structural mechanic, U.S. Navy, a member of Squadron VX-6 air crew on LC-130 aircraft for several seasons, and a crew member on the first midwinter flight to Antarctica, June 25, 1964.
A collaboration between Lydon, Afrika Bambaataa and producer/bassist Bill Laswell, the single was an early example of "rap rock", along with Run-DMC. The Sweetwater rises in southwestern Fremont County, at the continental divide near South Pass Wyoming, on the southern end of the Wind River Range. It flows ENE along the north side of the Antelope Hills, then ESE, through Fremont County, past Jeffrey City, between the Granite Mountains to the north and the Green Mountains (Wyoming) to the south, through what are now cattle-raising areas. In southern Natrona County, it passes Devil's Gate and Independence Rock along the Oregon, California and Mormon Trails, and empties into the North Platte as the Sweetwater arm of Pathfinder Reservoir.
The boring machine dubbed Matilda Construction commenced in September 2006. At the start of the project it was the longest road tunnel being built in the country. 3.5 million tonnes of excavated rock was removed by conveyor, stored in silos and taken away by truck. During a typical weekday period more than 25 trucks per hour were hauling removed soil and rock along Kingsford Smith Drive to an area near the Brisbane Airport. Lowery was born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of a career Air Force father. He has described his parents as "a hillbilly and an English working-class woman." His family moved around a great deal during his youth before finally settling in Redlands, California, where he attended high school. He became involved in music as a member of the band Sitting Ducks, who played a mixture of punk and acid rock, along with what Lowery described as "fake Russian-sounding music." Sitting Ducks subsequently evolved into Camper Van Beethoven, formed in 1983 in Santa Cruz, California.
Landscaping is in a naturalistic manner with bush pathways (and some sets of concrete stairs), seats cut out of the rock along some paths, and stone walling and terracing. There is evidence of some formal planting along the pathways including yellow jasmine hedges. The site also contains a number of memorial trees including what are believed to be several Lone Pines which surround the rest house and stands of pines on the western edge of the site. Camper Van Beethoven was preceded by several related garage bands based in Redlands, including Sitting Duck and the Estonian Gauchos (featuring future Cracker guitarist Johnny Hickman). These bands included future Camper Van Beethoven members bassist and vocalist David Lowery, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Chris Molla, and often drummer Bill McDonald as well. The Estonian Gauchos and a late incarnation of Sitting Duck also included another future Camper Van Beethoven member, bassist Victor Krummenacher, whose joining allowed Lowery to switch to rhythm guitar. Sitting Ducks played a mixture of punk and acid rock, along with what Lowery described as "fake Russian-sounding music".
As a result, the river dug down through the Precambrian gneiss and schist at the rate of every 100 years. The extreme hardness of the metamorphic rock along with the relative quickness with which the river carved through them created the steep walls that can be seen today. A number of feeder canyons running into the Black Canyon slope in the wrong direction for water to flow into the canyon. It is believed that less- entrenched streams in the region shifted to a more north-flowing drainage pattern in response to a change in the tilt of the surrounding terrain.

The highly shortened and foliated phyllite began as a mudstone which was metamorphosed to shale. The shale was then subjected to pressure-solution volume-diffusion; the rock was metamorphosed while deeply buried then subjected to heating during the emplacement of the batholith. The phyllite at the granite contact formed a weak horizon, which assisted the decollement process after the batholith was emplaced.

The D logo, 2011-17 On November 4, 2011, at 10 a.m., WDTW-FM changed its format back to classic rock, branded as 106.7 The D. The final song on "The Beat" was "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men, while the first song on "The D" was "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)" by AC/DC. The station described the new format as "The Next Generation of Classic Rock," meaning the station included more 1980s rock, along with the usual 1970s titles, as well as early 1990s' rock material. However, when locality boundaries were formalised, Statue Rock was placed on the boundary of the locality of Lammermoor to the west and the locality of Rosslyn to the east. The northern boundary of the locality is coastal commencing at Statue Rock along the beach at Statue Bay (where the residential development is located) to Rosslyn Head (where the Rosslyn Bay Boat Harbour has been developed). The eastern boundary of the locality is also coastal, commencing at Rosslyn Head, along Kemp Beach to Bluff Point.
Frederick Steele's Camden expedition, part of the larger Red River Campaign, attempted to cross the Saline River at Pratt's Ferry with his troops to get his nearly supply- less Union Army back to Little Rock along the Old Camden Road, however the water there was too high, and Gen. Steele and his troops turned south to cross at Jenkins Ferry, where his Union Army were engaged by Confederate Troops in what is called the Battle of Jenkins Ferry. Gen. Bill Dan and an empty can just balanced by him, Sausalito, CA. Nov 9, 2008 Bill Dan is a sculptor and performance artist specializing in rock balancing. He creates seemingly impossible, temporary balanced sculptures from un-worked rock and stone in public spaces near his home in San Francisco. Dan was born in Indonesia, and worked as a warehouseman before discovering the artistic possibilities of rock along the San Francisco Bay shoreline and his emergent skill in manipulating them. Bill was initially inspired by rock piles he had seen on the Big Island of Hawaii, the cairns of the Inuit, and later by the work of Andy Goldsworthy.
Before the operation of Northland Pyrite Mine in the early 1900s, water levels of James Lake increased and decreased.Abstracts of the Proceedings of the Thirty-Sixth Annual Meeting of the American Association of Stratigraphic Palynologists The cause of this alternation could have been caused by beavers building dams in the lake's outlet, eventually causing the water levels to rise. This rise in water levels began to cease in 1906 when operations of the Northland Pyrite Mine began to dump volcanic waste rock along the southwestern shore of James Lake. This began with the construction of the shaft and the several open-cuts north of the shaft, but the mine site was originally discovered in 1903.
The Allegheny Front begins in central Pennsylvania just northwest of the town of Lock Haven and extends southwest paralleling, first, Bald Eagle Mountain, and then Brush Mountain to its east. The Front continues to a point a little north of the Pennsylvania/Maryland boundary where it is offset about to the east as it changes from the bold escarpment that characterized it west of Altoona to its more gentle rise in Maryland. Across the Mason–Dixon line in Maryland, the Front becomes Dans Mountain, west of Cumberland, which reaches in elevation at Dan's Rock. Along Maryland's southern border, the North Branch of the Potomac River cuts down through the Front at just west of Keyser, West Virginia.

By the time the new "Mark II" lineup released Cut the Crap on 4 November 1985, they were an accomplished live band, and had written and performed several songs that would appear on the final album; a few had been live favourites. Composed of of basaltic andesite and of andesite, Diamond Peak is a shield volcano, though it might be considered a "modest stratocone" because of its steep slopes and the pyroclastic materials at its core. Having produced andesite, Diamond Peak represents one of the few mafic shield volcanoes in the Cascades that are known to grade into andesite, along with Mount Defiance, Mount Bailey, Devils Peak, and Prospect Peak. It consists of a main cone made of pyroclastic material including palagonitized rock along with basaltic andesite cinders and glassy scoria, as well as thin layers of basaltic andesite lava flows. Diamond Peak has two overlapping volcanic cones, with the elder edifice making up its lower northern peak.

By 1622, 18 one-storey houses and an inn had been built and they were centred on the crossroads which contained a flagpole, a cross and stocks.
Latin inscriptions carved in rock along the original Via Josephina route completed in 1779 testify that the Emperor travelled through the Vratnik pass on horseback when he realized that the route between Senj, as a major fortress on Adriatic coast, and the hinterland was nearly impassable. Legend has it that this happened when he fell from his horse near Vratnik Pass. Even though the incident is impossible to verify, the town of Josipdol to the east of the mountain pass is named after the Holy Roman Emperor. In 1775, Joseph II indeed commissioned construction of the route, exactly long, from Vincenc Struppi, a military engineer, and the road, named after the Emperor, was completed in 1779.
IL 1 south approaching the Cave-in-Rock ferry slip IL 1 begins at the ferry dock for the Cave-in-Rock Ferry in the eponymous village of Cave-in-Rock along the Ohio River. A continuation of Kentucky Route 91 (KY 91), IL 1 begins its journey in the Shawnee National Forest, leaving the village of Cave-in- Rock for the hamlet of Loves Crossing, where it meets the eastern terminus of IL 146\. For the next , IL 1 winds north through the forest, reaching a junction with IL 13, which connects to Equality and Shawneetown. Further north, IL 1 remains a two-lane road when it junctions with IL 141 at the Gallatin–White county line.
The movement towards and popularization of this music is considered to be a societal reaction towards Taiwan's expulsion from United Nations (UN) in 1971 in the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758, with international admission of the People's Republic of China as the sole legitimate representative of China in the UN. Originally built in 1813 as a base of operations for the famous Bell Rock Lighthouse, the Signal Tower housed the families of the keepers stationed on the 'rock', along with the vital shore staff who ran the lighthouse tender supplying the light. Bombus cerdanyensis was described from a solitary fossil, which is a compression- impression fossil pair preserved in layers of soft sedimentary rock. Along with other well preserved insect fossils, the B. cerdanyensis specimen was collected from layers of Late Miocene terrigenous and diatomites exposed around the small town of Bellver de Cerdanya, Spain. The sediments are reported as from a deep mountain paleolake that exists about 10 million years ago. Study of the paleoflora preserved in the shales indicates the lake was around in elevation in a climate that was warmer than the current conditions in the area. At the time of study, the holotype counterpart and part were part of the paleoentomology collections housed by the Museum National d’Histoire Naturelle.

The film is based on the story of sisters Justa, Lucía and Luciana Quispe, three goat-herders from the Chilean altiplano, the home of the indigenous Colla people. In 1974, the altiplano (highlands) goat-herders were concerned their animals were losing economic value as rumours about the military government expanded and reached the more isolated corners of the country. Affected by the recent loss of another of their sisters, and frightened by the news that the military had reached the area of Copiapo, Justa, Lucía and Luciana committed suicide by hanging themselves from a rock (along with their two dogs). The film's suicide scene was performed on the same rock where the real incident occurred, and the role of Justa Quispe was played by her niece, Digna Quispe.

The partial Susumanioidea specimens were found in an unnamed formation belonging to the Kamloops group that outcrops at the McAbee Fossil Beds near Cache Creek, BC. The two E. hichensi wing were recovered from the Tom Thumb Tuff member of the Klondike Mountain Formation in Republic, Washington which is designated the type locality for the species, with the holotype recovered from the "Boot hill" site #B4131, and the paratype from the "Corner lot" site #A0307. At the time of description, the species type series consisted of the holotype specimen, SR 12-004-007 and paratype specimen SR 93-10-02 were preserved in the Stonerose Interpretive Center fossil collections.
