Redaction criticism, also called Redaktionsgeschichte, Kompositionsgeschichte or Redaktionstheologie, is a critical method for the study of biblical texts. Redaction criticism regards the author of the text as editor (redactor) of the source materials. Unlike its parent discipline, form criticism, redaction criticism does not look at the various parts of a narrative to discover the original genre. Instead, it focuses on how the redactor shaped and moulded the narrative to express theological and ideological goals.

Solange Nunes Bibas, known simply as Solange Bibas (Belém, Pará, 1918 — São Paulo, São Paulo, August 29, 1982) was a Brazilian sports journalist. He worked at A Gazeta Esportiva and covered the 1958 and 1982 football World Cups. In the 1982 one, he was appointed as the official redactor of the Brazilian Football Confederation. A couple of months after his death, a street in Tatuapé district in São Paulo was named after him.

Upon Austria-Hungary's declaration of war on Serbia that led to the outbreak of World War I, Vasile Stoica was a teacher. In August–September, Stoica worked as a redactor- answerable at Românul, the leading Romanian language newspaper in Austria- Hungary. In October 1914, he choose to leave the Empire to avoid conscription, and headed for Bucharest, in still-neutral Romania. He tried to work for Romanian Army, in the new Air Force, but he was rejected.

The Mishnaic tractate Avot consists of five chapters. It begins with an order of transmission of the Oral Tradition; Moses receives the Torah at Mount Sinai and then transmits it through various generations (including Joshua, the Elders, and the Neviim, but notably not the Kohanim), whence it finally arrives at the Great Assembly, i.e., the Rabbis (Avot 1:1). It contains sayings attributed to sages from Simon the Just (200 BCE) to shortly after Judah haNasi (200 CE), redactor of the Mishnah.
The original 4th-century Cyranides comprised three books, to which a redactor added a fourth. The original first book of the Cyranides, the Κυρανίς (Kuranis), was the second component of a two-part work, the first part of which was the Ἀρχαϊκἠ (Archaikê). Books 2–4 are a bestiary. The edition of Kaimakis (see below) contains a fifth and sixth book which were not transmitted under the name Cyranides but which were included with the work in a limited number of manuscripts.
The Yahwist is perhaps the most controversial source in contemporary Pentateuchal studies, with a number of scholars, especially in Europe, denying its existence altogether. A growing number of scholars have concluded that Genesis, a book traditionally assigned primarily to the Yahwist, was originally composed separately from Exodus and Numbers, and was joined to these books later by a Priestly redactor. Nevertheless, the existence and integrity of the Yahwist material still has many defenders; especially fervent among them is John Van Seters.

His father was professor of political economy at Collège de France, editor in chief of the Journal des Économistes, and a member of Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques. Baudrillart's maternal grandfather, Samuel Ustazade de Sacy, was redactor in chief of the Journal des débats and a member of the Académie française. Raised in the Latin Quarter, Baudrillart entered École Bossuet in 1868, and later the Collège Louis le Grand.

Carter's othode even manages to uncover the secret entry to the city, but Carter himself is caught and imprisoned with Jandar. All comes out well, as they are rescued by Tarin and in a climatic battle the Mind Wizards are almost all killed. (One is later revealed to have escaped, to permit sequel possibilities.) At the end of the story Carter manages to catch the return beam to Earth, content to resume his role as redactor, rather than participant, in Jandar's adventures.

Télesphore Saint-Pierre (July 10, 1869, in Lavaltrie, Quebec – October 25, 1912, in Saint-Boniface, Manitoba) was a journalist, writer and editor. He had three children with his wife Stéphanie Guérin, and has been redactor for La Patrie, La Minerve, Le Canada, au Soir, for The Gazette and for Montreal Daily Herald. He was also author of an "Histoire du commerce canadien-français de Montréal, 1535–1893" (1894) and "Histoire des Canadiens français du Michigan et du comté d'Essex, Ontario" (1895)..

The Red Army blew up the building and the bodies of those who remained to work for the radio were found in a water well. In 1958, Nicolae Lupan became the first chief redactor of Teleradio-Moldova.

He wrote Un Canadien errant in 1842 while taking his classical exams at the Séminaire de Nicolet. During his legal studies, he lived in poverty and worked for the newspaper La Minerve as a translator and corrector and later as a redactor. He also served as the secretary of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society from 1845 until its reorganization in 1847. In 1849, he worked for the Ministry of Public Works and was named to the Library of Parliament in 1856, living alternately between Montreal and Toronto.

Akiko Uxusink-Nagata helped him write the magazine until 1970; in 1974 the task was definitively taken over by a new redactor, Simo Milojeviĉ. In this period, Sadler also cared after the organization of several World Congresses of Esperanto. He resigned in 1983. Sadler wrote literary works in Esperanto as well; in 1968 he received the award Arĝenta Sprono thanks to his collection of poems Memkritiko ("selfcritics"), although the preface to the work says that it was originally a manuscript that he found in the library.
When he was 17 years old, he started an intense work as a journalist on El Universal newspaper and on different magazines from the time; while he actively participated in the intellectual circles of the city. He was one of the founder students of the La Salle school. In 1909 he published a little essay in the "El Eco Industrial" journal. In 1914 he began studies at Instituto de Comercio de Caracas; he quit a little later to work as a redactor in El Universal.
From June 1965 to 1966, Jean Mabire was redactor-in-chief of Europe-Action. After the electoral demise of Tixier-Vignancour, head members of Europe-Action founded in 1966 the European Rally for Liberty (REL), along with by young nationalists from the Federation of Nationalist Students. Europe-Action hebdomadaire became the organ for the European Rally for Liberty during the campaign, and was replaced by a short-lived magazine named L'Observateur Européen. The REL was only able to run 27 candidates during the 1967 legislative election and failed at 2.58% of the votes.
Mark did not hesitate to use the Old Testament out of context, therefore it is probable that he did the same with the "Jesus tradition" he received. This underscores the argument that he retold tradition for his own purposes. By doing this Mark created a new text from other texts, traces of which can be seen in his text. Mark was not a conservative redactor, he not only reshaped his story of Jesus by retelling the story for the sake of a particular situation, he also told it from his own perspective.
The mythical third section about gods meeting Kannaki after Kovalan's death, in the last Canto, mentions a legend about a prince turned into a monk. This has been conflated as the story of the attributed author as a witness. However, little factual details about the real author(s) or evidence exist. Given the fact that older Tamil texts mention and allude to the Kannaki's tragic love story, states Parthasarathy, the author was possibly just a redactor of the oral tradition and the epic poem was not a product of his creative genius.
R. P. Kangle theorized that Vishnugupta was the personal name of the author while Chanakya () was the name of his gotra. Others, such as Thomas Burrow and Patrick Olivelle, point out that none of the earliest sources that refer to Chanakya mention the name "Vishnugupta". According to these scholars, "Vishnugupta" may have been the personal name of the author whose gotra name was "Kautilya": this person, however, was different from Chanakya. Historian K C Ojha theorizes that Vishnugupta was the redactor of the final recension of the text.

The imperishable monument to the school of Tiberias is the Jerusalem Talmud (Palestinian Talmud), of which Johanan ben Nappaha laid the foundation; for which reason he is generally styled, although erroneously, its redactor or author. In point of fact, however, this work was not completed until nearly a century and a half after Johanan's death; and its close is undoubtedly connected with the extinction of the patriarchal office (about 425). But Tiberias did not therefore cease to be a seat of learning, although very little of its subsequent activity is known.

From 1965, he served as the redactor-in-chief of Europe-Action, in which he wrote about neo-paganism, the Waffen SS and the Charlemagne Regiment.
Monteagudo was used as transporter for the troops of Simón Bolívar. In 1836 Andrés de Santa Cruz created the Peru-Bolivian Confederation and challenged the status quo in South America. Allegedly due to exhausted finances, the ships of the Peruvian Navy Monteagudo and the brig Orbegoso (as well as the corvette Libertad) were advertised on 4 May 1836 in "El Redactor Peruano", Nº 54, a Lima newspaper, and chartered in a dubious operation to unknown ship brokers. They handed over the ships to Ramon Freire, a Chilean exiled head of state in Lima who pretended his return to the presidency of Chile.
Born into an ethnic Hungarian family, at the age of two she moved with her parents to Cluj (Kolozsvár), where she graduated from high school (1954). Later she graduated from the former Bolyai University (Babes-Bolyai University) (1959), at the departament of Hungarian Language and Literature. In 1959 she moved to Bucharest, where she was a redactor at Irodalmi Könyvkiadó (National Publishing for Literature), then at journals/newspapers, most of them being youth magazines: Tanügyi Újság, Előre and Jóbarát, and Cimbora between 1990–92, where she worked as an editor in chief. She wrote articles, short stories, fairy tales and fairy novels.
Simon Duran, in quoting this midrash, says that it is a Judean aggadic collection. The sources which it uses directly are from the Jerusalem Talmud. No direct borrowing from the Babylonian Talmud appears, and, although it contains many interpretations and comments found in the Babylonian Talmud, most of them vary greatly in form, the agreement being confined to their contents. This agreement, moreover, may be explained on the ground that the comments and interpretations in question are very old, and were included both in the Babylonian Talmud and in the Palestinian sources used by the redactor of Shir haShirim Rabbah.
Pavel Parasca was born on July 8, 1939 in Brînzenii Vechi and graduated from the Moldova State University in 1967. Then he worked as redactor for "Enciclopedia RSS Moldovenesti" and teacher in Congo-Brazzaville (1967–1968, 1971–1972). He returned for good in Chişinău, where he had academic positions in the Facultatea de Istorie of Moldova State University, Institutul de Istorie of Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Facultatea de Stiinte Umanistice a ULIM. On June 18, 1989, Parasca Pavel Fiodorovici was a founder of the Association of Historians of Moldova (); he was director of the association for four years.
On December 17, 1847, he was appointed as a Metropolitan Archbishop of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lviv and a Primate of Galicia and Lodomeria, but shortly resigned, before the episcopal ordination on May 29, 1848, justified this with the resistance of the Polish population living in the Archdiocese. From November 1848 he was a provost of the Prague cathedral chapter. He also was a theologian and a spiritual writer, one among the founders of the "Časopis katolického duchovenstva" (Magazine of a Catholic Clergy) and it chief redactor in 1831–1832. Dr. Canon Václavíček died on September 19, 1862 in Prague.
Vincuk Viačorka worked as a professor at the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University and the Belarusian Humanities Lyceum, as a journalist and the deputy chief redactor of the cultural magazine Spadčyna (Спадчына). From 1979 on, Viačorka has been an active member of the national-democratic movement in Belarus. He was one of the founders of several juvenile cultural groups and organisations, such as Majstroŭnia (Майстроўня, 1979–1984), Tałaka (Талака, 1986–1989), and the Confederation of Belarusian Juvenile Organisations (Канфэдэрацыя беларускіх моладзевых суполак, 1988–1989). Vincuk Viačorka ran for a seat in the Supreme Soviet of Belarus, but was not successful.
166-167 According to Ryholt, Khabaw's name was lost in a wsf (literally "missing") lacuna of the Turin canon reported in Column 7, line 17 of the document. The redactor of this king list, which was written in the early Ramesside period, wrote wsf when the older document from which he was copying the list had a lacuna. Khabaw is however well attested through archaeological finds. Fragments of a red granite architrave measuring by bearing his Horus name and prenomen were discovered during excavations at Bubastis in 1891 conducted by Édouard Naville for the Egypt Exploration Society.
Throughout most of the 20th century, there was a scholarly consensus surrounding the documentary hypothesis, which posits four independent sources, which were later compiled together by a redactor: J, the Jahwist source, E, the Elohist source, P, the Priestly source, and D, the Deuteronomist source. The earliest of these sources, J, would have been composed in the late 7th or the 6th century BCE, with the latest source, P, being composed around the 5th century BCE. The supplementary hypothesis, one potential successor to the documentary hypothesis. The consensus around the documentary hypothesis collapsed in the last decades of the 20th century.
Victor Sadler learnt Esperanto when he was 14, in 1951. After his graduation in phonetics, in 1962, at the end of that year he started working at the central office of the World Esperanto Association (UEA), in Rotterdam (Netherlands), where he cared after the magazine Esperanto. He also served as redactor of Monda Kulturo, during the short lifespan of this other periodical, and he cared after the Hector Hodler library, which is still nowadays one of the richest Esperanto libraries in the world. In 1968 he followed Marianne H. Vermaas as the General Director of the World Esperanto Association.
The 20th century Sri Lankan monk Walpola Rahula described Mahinda as "the father of Sinhalese literature" as he had translated and written commentary for the Tripitaka in Sinhala, turning it into a literary language. He was also credited with introducing the culture of the Mauryan empire to the island, along with its architecture. More recently, Suwanda H J Sugunasiri, a Canadian scholar, has identified him as the Redactor of the oldest Buddhapuja in the world (247 BCE).s Mihintale, the mountain where Mahinda supposedly first encountered King Devanampiyatissa and the site of his funerary stupa, is an important pilgrimage site in Sri Lanka.
Source criticism, as the term is used in biblical criticism, refers to the attempt to establish the sources used by the author and/or redactor of the final text. The term "literary criticism" is occasionally used as a synonym. Biblical source criticism originated in the 18th century with the work of Jean Astruc, who adapted the methods already developed for investigating the texts of classical antiquity (Homer's Iliad in particular) to his own investigation into the sources of the Book of Genesis. It was subsequently considerably developed by German scholars in what was known as "the higher criticism", a term no longer in widespread use.

When the company disbanded after two years of journeying around the countryside, he returned to Prague and got a job as a clerk in an infantry regiment's office. In his free time, he wrote theatre plays and worked as an actor at the Estates Theatre. Due to his abilities, he could leave his job in the military in 1842, as he was given a full-time job at the Estates Theatre, where he became the director, organizer, and playwright of the Czech ensemble in the otherwise mainly German theatre. In 1833 Tyl became a redactor of a renewed Czech magazine called Květy (Blossoms), which exists until today.
He was also a redactor of the magazines Vlastimil and Pražský posel (Prague Messenger), and of the newspaper Sedlské noviny (Farmer´s newspaper), that were later banned because of his political involvement. Tyl used several pen names that were often derived from the name of his hometown Kutná Hora, for example, Horský, Horník, Kutnohorský, and Vítek. In the revolutionary year 1848, Tyl became politically active and was briefly a member of the Austrian parliament in Vienna. Because he fought for the independence of the Czech nation from the Austrian-Hungarian Empire, he was later marked as politically unreliable by the authorities and expelled from the Estates Theatre.
A diagram of the complexity of the Synoptic problem Redaction is the process of editing multiple sources, often with a similar theme, into a single document. Daniel Harrington says that redaction criticism is the "child" of source and form criticism and can be seen as derived from them. As in source criticism, it is necessary to identify the traditions before determining how the redactor used them. Form criticism saw the synoptic writers as mere collectors and focused on the Sitz im Leben as the creator of the texts, whereas redaction criticism deals more positively with the Gospel writers, asserting an understanding of them as theologians of the early church.

He is however best known for being the main redactor of the Encyclopédie, whose aim was to sum up all the knowledge of his century (in fields such as arts, sciences, languages, and philosophy) and to present them to the people, to fight ignorance and obscurantism.
Isaac José Pardo Soublette (Caracas, 14 October 1905 - 3 March 2000), was a Venezuelan intellectual of German-Jewish extraction known for his essays: Esta tierra de gracia (1955) and Fuegos bajo el agua. La invención de la utopía (1983). Also, was part of the Generation of 1928, movement against the dictatorship of Juan Vicente Gómez; founder of the party Unión Republicana Democrática (URD) in 1945, director of El Nacional, redactor of the humorist paper El Morrocoy Azul, and principal authority of the Supreme Electoral Council of Venezuela in 1963. As physician, worked along with José Ignacio Baldó in the hospital of El Algodonal, facing the battle against tuberculosis in the zone.
Sections 4-11 are not only similar in content (in that both set forth rules of behavior for different walks of life, and illustrate their meaning by examples from history,) but their whole arrangement and composition also show the hand of the same author. Although the name of this author is not known, his date can be fixed approximately. Among the 16 authorities quoted in the part which has been designated above as the treatise DER proper, none lived later than Judah haNasi, the redactor of the Mishnah. The Yerushalmi quotes a teaching, found in the DER, with the formula "Tene be-Derekh ha- Eretz";Shab.

Barayata from the Mekhilta are introduced in the Babylonian Talmud by the phrases Tana debe R. Yishmael ("It was taught in the school of R. Ishmael"), and in the Jerusalem Talmud and the aggadahs by Teni R. Yishmael ("R. Ishmael taught"). Yet there are many barayata in the Talmud which contain comments on Book of Exodus introduced by the phrase Tana debe R. Yishmael but which are not included in the Mekhilta under discussion. These must have been included in Ishmael's original Mekhilta, and the fact that they are omitted in this midrash is evidence that its redactor excluded many of the passages from Ishmael's work.Comp.
In 1920 Jakob became the director of the central office of UEA; he cared after the publication of Jarlibroj and after the magazine Esperanto. He became General Director of the World Esperanto Association in 1924; he left the post in 1934, when he resigned, as a form of protest, during the World Esperanto Congress in Stockholm. Since 1936, when the association split into two branches (headquartered respectively in Geneva and London), he began once again to serve as a redactor for the Genevan association. After the reunification of the two associations, in 1947, he joined the governing council of the reborn UEA and started caring after the magazine.

The Mishna is based on the systematic division of the halakhic material as formulated by Rabbi Akiva; Judah following in his work the arrangement of the halakot as taught by Rabbi Meir (Akiva's foremost student).Sanhedrin 86a Judah's work in the Mishnah appears both in what he included and in what he rejected. The volume of tannaitic statements not included in the Mishna (but recorded in the Tosefta and in the baraitot of both Talmuds) shows that Judah had no small task in selecting the material that he included in his work.
Martin was born in Saint-Quentin into an upper-middle-class family. Trained as a notary, he followed this profession for some time but having achieved success with an historical romance, Wolfthurm (1830), he applied himself to historical research. Martin sat in the Assemblée Nationale as deputy for Aisne in 1871, and was elected on 13 June 1878 to seat number 38 of the Académie française,Académie française: Henri Martin but he left no mark as a politician. Redactor at the Siècle, he was also mayor of the 16th arrondissement of Paris in 1870, deputy of Paris in 1871, senator in 1876, and one of the founders and the first president of the Ligue des Patriotes.
The Daoist scholar, pharmacologist, and alchemist Tao Hongjing (456-536) was the redactor-editor of the basic Shangqing revelations and a founder of the Shangqing School (Pregadio 2008: 1002). Most of what is known about Yang Xi derives from Tao's scholarly and detailed writings. In 483, Tao became fascinated with the Shangqing revelations given to Yang Xi more than a century earlier. Tao's Daoist master Sun Youyue (孫遊岳, 399–489)—who had been a disciple of Lu Xiujing (陸修靜, 406–477), the standardizer of the Lingbao School rituals and scriptures—showed him some fragments of Yang Xi's and Xu Hui's original textual manuscripts (Russell 2005, Strickmann 1977: 39).
Lamberto Sposini (born 1952) is an Italian journalist, news speaker and television presenter. Born in Foligno, Sposini started his career as a journalist for the newspaper Paese Sera, then in 1978 he became a collaborator of RAI TV, working as a redactor, a correspondent and as a news speaker of TG1. In 1991 he moved to Mediaset, where he co-founded the TG5 and became one of its news speaker. After a short comeback at TG1 which he left in 2006 as a result of the disagreements with the new editor in chief Carlo Rossella, in 2008 he became the presenter of La Vita in diretta, a Rai 1 television program broadcast in the afternoon.
The Book of Exodus is also divided between the Yahwist and P, and the usual understanding is that the Priestly writers were adding to an already-existing Yahwist narrative. P was responsible for chapters 25–31 and 35–40, the instructions for making the Tabernacle and the story of its fabrication. While the classical documentary hypothesis posited that the Priestly material constituted an independent document which was compiled into the Pentateuch by a later redactor, most contemporary scholars now view P as a redactional layer, or commentary, on the Yahwistic and Deuteronomistic sources. Unlike J and D, the Priestly material does not seem to amount to an independent narrative when considered on its own.
Linguistically, the text of Rawlinson B 512 is similar to Harley 5280, especially at the beginning; and there are also innovations in common with the Book of Leinster, showing that the redactor clearly had more than one manuscript at his disposal. In one instance the diction seems to come closer to the form of the original than any other surviving manuscript. An interpolation concerning Cú Roí points to this version's origin in Munster. In spite of some miscomprehension of the story on the part of the revisionist scribe, the literary style as a whole is somewhat smoother than in the earlier version, which Rudolf Thurneysen points out is of help for the understanding of the tale.

But scholars supporting the three-stage Q development hypothesis, such as Burton L. Mack, argue that Q's unity comes not only from its being shared by Matthew and Luke, but also because, in the layers of Q as reconstructed, the later layers build upon and presuppose the earlier ones, whereas the reverse is not the case. The redactor of the CD text allows that the covenant is open to all Israelites who accept the sect's halakha, while condemning the others as the "wicked of Judah" against whom God would direct "a great anger with flames of fire by the hand of all the angels of destruction against persons turning aside from the path". The text states that those who abandon the true covenant "will not live". The Damascus Document is a composite text edited together from different sections of a larger source, and scholars have attempted to place the different sections in a chronological order to generate a more complete work of the original using evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Already at that time he was a respected figure in the world of Madrid media; in 1973 he was among the first ones to move into the co-called Ciudad de los Periodistas, a complex of five high-rise residential buildings commissioned by Asociación de la Prensa, in the 21st century still dubbed "the best place to live in Madrid".
Ancient sources invariably identify this disciple with the Evangelist, and many modern scholars agree, though others consider that John the Evangelist fashioned the testimony of the Beloved Disciple into a Gospel, as Mark did for Peter, or hold on other grounds that the two are not identical. Further identification of the Beloved Disciple and/or the Evangelist with John the Apostle has been variously defended and impugned. Some scholars see the Gospel's “and we know that his testimony is true,”. as indicating a second hand, of a hypothetical “John the Redactor” or some group of elders certifying the work. Bauckham, however, argues that this is simply the “we of authoritative testimony” of the author himself, used also in the Epistles.
The only surviving copy of the Chronicle of 819 was made by a certain Severus for his uncle David, a monk of Qarṭmin consecrated bishop of Ḥarrān by John IV. Andrew Palmer therefore suggests that the Chronicle of 846 is the work of David, who commissioned his nephew to make a copy of an earlier chronicle for this purpose. Even he is not the main author of the Chronicle of 846, he may be the compiler who extended it from 784 to 846 and interpolated information from the Chronicle of 819. Elsewhere, Palmer suggests that Nonnus of Ḥarrān, a monk of Qarṭmin who became bishop of Ṭur ʿAbdin shortly before 845, may have been the final redactor of the Chronicle of 846.

Mormon is believed by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be a prophet-historian and a member of a tribe of indigenous Americans known as the Nephites, one of the four groups (including the Lamanites, Jaredites, and Mulekites) described in the Book of Mormon as having settled in the ancient Americas. According to the Book of Mormon, the prophet Mormon engraved an abridgement of his people's history on golden plates. Based on the chronology described in the book, Mormon lived during the 4th century AD. As a narrator in the text, Mormon presents himself as a redactor. He quotes and paraphrases other writers, collects and includes whole texts by other authors, contributes running commentary, and also writes his own narrative.
When Céspedes composed her first verses, she received the support of her distant relative Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, who declared Cuban independence in 1868, who also chose her first pseudonym: "La Calandria." During this period, Carlos Manuel was still living in Bayamo. She published her first poems in 1855 in Semanario Cubano and El Redactor in Santiago de Cuba, sometimes under the pseudonyms of "La Serrana" and Carlos Enrique Alba. She collaborated on "La Regeneración," published in Bayamo; "La Antorcha," in Manzanillo; "La Alborada" and "Eco de Villa Clara," in Santa Clara; "El Fomento" and "Hoja Económica," in Cienfuegos; "Corre de Trinidad" and "La Abeja," in Trinidad; "La Prensa" and "El Kaleidoscopio;" "La Idea" y "Cuba Literaria" in Havana; and "La Moda Elegante" in Cádiz, Spain.
Tanḥuma A, also called Tanchuma Buber, is the collection published by S. Buber,Wilna, 1885 who gathered the material from several manuscripts. Buber claimed that this collection, consisting of homilies on and aggadic interpretations of the weekly sections of the Pentateuch, was the oldest of the three, perhaps even the oldest compilation of its kind arranged as a running commentary on the Pentateuch, and he identified several passages which he saw as being quoted by Bereshit Rabbah. Buber postulated that this midrash (Tanḥuma) was edited in the 5th century, before the completion of the Babylonian Talmud. Buber cites a passage in the Babylonian Talmud that seems to indicate that the redactor of that work had referred to the Midrash Tanḥuma.
Each latent or operant individual has a different combination of these abilities and, amongst the Tanu, those with similar abilities were organized into guilds, called the Five Guilds Mental, each with a guild leader. As of the start of the first novel, "The Many Colored Land", the leaders of the five Tanu guilds were as follows: the Coercer Guild was led by the human Sebi-Gomnol (formerly the embittered Eusebio Gomez-Nolan, ennobled because he invented the controlling silver and grey torcs). The Creator Guild followed Aluteyn Craftsmaster, while the Farsensor Guild was led by Mayvar Kingmaker. The Psychokinetic Guild followed highly influential Nodonn Battlemaster (leader of the Wild Hunt), and the Redactor Guild was led by peaceful Dionket, Lord Healer.
Chinese scholarly commentaries on the Zhuangzi, dating back to Guo Xiang (252-312 CE), the earliest redactor and editor of the text, provide invaluable information on understanding zhīyán (卮言, "goblet words"). For semantic perspective, summaries of how major commentators explain the related terms yùyán (寓言, "lodged words") and zhòngyán (重言, "weighted words") or chóngyán (重言, "repeated words") will be presented first. Most Zhuangzi commentaries agree that zhiyan are divided into yuyan and zhongyan subcategories, which are overlapping as the percentages require (Tucker 1984: 23-24). Yùyán. Guo Xiang notes that yù (寓, "lodge; reside; relocate") means jì (寄, "lodge at temporarily; stop over; entrust to; confide in") [the words of] another person (寄之他人).
J begins with , the departure from Sinai, the story of the spies who are afraid of the giants in Canaan, and the refusal of the Israelites to enter the Promised Land—which then brings on the wrath of Yahweh, who condemns them to wander in the wilderness for the next forty years. J resumes at chapter 16, the story of the rebellion of Dathan and Abiram, which was spliced together with the account of Korah's rebellion from P by the Redactor. It is generally also believed that J provides large portions of chapters 21 to 24, covering the story of the bronze serpent, Balaam and his talking ass (although Friedman attributes this to E), and finally ending with the first verses of the Heresy of Baal Peor.
Nathan's original Judeo-Arabic commentary of the Mishnah served as the basis for a later recension made by a 12th-century anonymous author and copyist,Schlossberg, E. (2005), p. 281Assaf, Simcha (Kiryat Sefer 1933) presumes that the copyist and redactor lived between the years 1105 CE and 1170 CE, based on the fact that the last of the exegetes mentioned by the copyist is Rabbi Isaac Alfasi (1013–1103), while not mentioning at all in his work the explanations given by Maimonides (born 1135), who also compiled a Judeo-Arabic commentary on the Mishnah (see: Nathan ben Abraham (1955), vol. 1, Preface written by Mordecai Yehudah Leib Sachs, appended at the end of the book). believed to be of Yemenite Jewish provenance.
He also developed a language, called "Salvador", which sought to become universal, but received very little support from the intellectuals of his time, despite everything, Gavidia published some poems in "Los Argonautas" "Language Salvador", among which stand out "The Argonauts" and "A Marconi". The year 1887 contracted marriage with the daughter of the journalist Carlos Bonilla. A year later, he founded the newspaper "El semanario noticioso", which was published every Thursday, as well as the Academy of Sciences and Fine Arts of San Salvador. After the overthrow of the general Francisco Menéndez Valdivieso, Gavidia exiled of the country and continued his journalistic activity in Costa Rica, where he was director of "La Prensa Libre" between 1891 and 1892; and later in Guatemala worked like co-redactor of "El bien público" of the city of Quetzaltenango.
Russell suggests that the connection to Jeroboam may have been later, possibly coming from a Judahite redactor. Pauline Viviano, however, concludes that neither the references to Jeroboam's calves in Hosea (Hosea 8:6 and 10:5) nor the frequent prohibitions of idol worship in the seventh-century southern prophet Jeremiah show any knowledge of a tradition of a golden calf having been created in Sinai. Some of the earliest evidence for Judahite traditions of the exodus is found in Psalm 78, which portrays the Exodus as beginning a history culminating in the building of the temple at Jerusalem. Pamela Barmash argues that the psalm is a polemic against the Northern Kingdom; as it fails to mention that kingdom's destruction in 722 BCE, she concludes that it must have been written before then.
The large number of suffixes can be seen through a glimpse of just those used to form nouns referring to a type of person: -er- (molinero - miller), -or- (redactor - editor), -ari- (millionario - millionaire), -on- (spion, spy), -ard (mentard, liar), -astr- (poetastro, lousy poet), -es (franceso, Frenchman), -essa (reyessa, queen). In de Wahl's opinion it was always preferable to opt for a productive suffix than to be forced to coin new words from completely new radicals later on. De Wahl published in 1922 a modification of Otto Jespersen's principle that "the best language is that which is easiest for the greatest number of people", stating that the international language should be easiest for the majority of those who need it (lit. who must apply it), or in other words those that need it in international relations.

The Mishna in the beginning of Avot and (in more detail) Maimonides in his Introduction to Mishneh Torah records a chain of tradition (mesorah) from Moses at Mount Sinai down to R' Ashi, redactor of the Talmud and last of the Amoraim. This chain of tradition includes the interpretation of unclear statements in the Bible (e.g. that the "fruit of a beautiful tree" refers to a citron as opposed to any other fruit), the methods of textual exegesis (the disagreements recorded in the Mishna and Talmud generally focus on methods of exegesis), and Laws with Mosaic authority that cannot be derived from the Biblical text (these include measurements (e.g. what amount of a non-kosher food must one eat to be liable), the amount and order of the scrolls to be placed in the phylacteries, etc.).
For almost a century prior to Whybray's book, a scholarly consensus had developed regarding the question of Pentateuchal origins the composition and dates of the first five books of the Old Testament. In the closing decades of the 19th century Julius Wellhausen published Prolegomena zur Geschichte Israels, in which he had set out the definitive version of the historical development of the Hebrew bible. According to this hypothesis, the Pentateuch Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy was originally four separate documents, retelling the same episodes and stories, but with differing emphases designed to further the theological and political agendas of their authors. Their combination by a Redactor (editor) into a single narrative spread over five books had resulted in many inconsistencies and repetitious stories, which could be analysed through the methodology of source criticism to reconstruct the original documents.
Susanna and the Elders by Guido Reni La Casta Susana- Juan Manuel Blanes Susanna (: "lily"), also called Susanna and the Elders, is a narrative included in the Book of Daniel (as chapter 13) by the Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches. It is one of the additions to Daniel, considered apocryphal by Protestants. It is listed in Article VI of the 39 Articles of the Church of England among the books which are read "for example of life and instruction of manners", but not for the formation of doctrine. It is not included in the Jewish Tanakh and is not mentioned in early Jewish literature, although the text does appear to have been part of the original Septuagint from the 2nd century BC,New American Bible (Revised Edition), Footnote a and was revised by Theodotion, a Hellenistic Jewish redactor of the Septuagint text (c.
Some scholars who follow the Documentary Hypothesis find evidence of four separate sources in the parashah. Professor Richard Elliott Friedman, of the University of Georgia, attributed the overwhelming majority of the parashah, , to the Elohist (sometimes abbreviated E), who wrote in the north, in the land of the Tribe of Ephraim, possibly as early as the second half of the 9th century BCE. Friedman attributed to the Priestly source, who wrote in the 6th or 5th century BCE. Friedman attributed the words "and went up into the mountain" in to a later Redactor (sometimes abbreviated R). And Friedman attributed the conclusion of , the words "and Moses was in the mount forty days and forty nights," to the Jahwist (sometimes abbreviated J), who wrote in the south, in the land of the Tribe of Judah, possibly as early as the 10th century BCE.
Tišma was born in Horgoš, Kanjiža on the present-day border of Serbia and Hungary, to a Serbian father and a Hungarian-speaking Jewish mother. He completed his elementary and middle school education in Novi Sad before going on to study economy and French language and literature in Budapest during World War II, finally graduating in Germanistics from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Philology. From 1945 to 1949 he worked as a journalist for Slobodna Vojvodina and Borba newspapers, and then as editor and redactor at Matica srpska until his retirement in 1982. He became a corresponding member of the Vojvodina Academy of Sciences and Arts (VANU) in 1979 and was promoted into a regular member in 1984, and subsequently became a regular member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) upon their fusion 1992.
The story of the Exodus may, therefore, have originated only a few centuries earlier, perhaps in the 9th or 10th BCE, and taken different forms in Israel and Judah. Combined with the almost uniform consensus that the Exodus is no more than a legend, it spells problems for the largest beam of support for the Kenite hypothesis.
