White Pass Ski Area opened in January of 1953. The initial area only consisted of the Poma Face hill serviced by a number of Rope tows. Shortly after, the ski area built a Poma surface lift that ran from roughly in front of the present day lodge’s location to the top of the Poma Face. In 1956, White Pass expanded to the summit of Pigtail Peak with its very first chairlift.

The area would install Chair 4, another double built by Riblet, in 1984. This lift ran from roughly halfway down Paradise to the summit of Pigtail Peak. Additionally, the resort cut out 3 new runs around Paradise that ended at the new lift. Looking to increase capacity at their base area, White Pass installed a high-speed detachable lift that ran from the highway to the summit in 1994.

His cartoons appeared in Life and Judge. He illustrated the cartoon strip, “Uncle Wiggily’s Adventures” with Howard R. Garis and created "Piggy Pigtail", "Paddy the Pup", "Dippy Doodlebug", "Bizzy Izzy Humbug", "The Dinky Ducklings", "Duck and Applesauce", "Dicky Bird’s Diary," "Merry Murphy" and more on his own. He died on May 26, 1937 in Raleigh, Wake County, North Carolina. He is buried in Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

The Manchus (a tribe from Manchuria that did not speak Chinese) conquered China around 1643–1683 in wars that killed perhaps 25 million people. The Manchus ruled it as the Qing Dynasty until the early 20th century. The ruling elite were always Manchu, and the Han Chinese were repressed in various ways. Notably, Han men were forced to wear the long queue (or pigtail) as a mark of their inferior status.

Devices select which function the pins perform depending on user settings or on the context or mode in which the device is being operated. Two different functions cannot be used at once. Using the connector may require a breakout cable or special headset. She known for her work discovering restriction factors that counteract HIV-AIDS and other primate lentiviruses, thus restricting them to specific species, and making it hard to study HIV-1 in animals. Her findings allowed her to develop the first HIV-1-based virus capable of recapitulating AIDS-like symptoms in a non- hominid (in this case pigtail macaques). She is a Research Associate Professor in the Laboratory of Retrovirology at The Rockefeller University in New York.

In 1126, the Jurchens initially ordered male Han Chinese within their conquered territories to adopt the Jurchen hairstyle by shaving the front of their heads and adopting Jurchen dress, but the order was later lifted. The surgery was a success, and became a Peake family legend and a Chinese legend as well. After the surgery was performed, Peake walked outside to a procession of dejected men bowed down and marching in a line formed by holding the pigtail of the man in front of him. The local blind men were walking to the hospital, let by the man who could now see. Peake then opened a new hospital in 1905, which, by 1910, maintained an annual intake for six to seven thousand patients.

It was completed in 1852 and dedicated to John the Evangelist. The Lammermuir was nearly wrecked by two typhoons before limping into the Shanghai harbour in late September. The Pigtail Ordinance was proposed as a solution to the overcrowding of jails due to the 1870 Sanitary Ordinance, which was originally meant to prevent unsafe tenement conditions in San Francisco. When in violation of the Sanitary Ordinance, one could either pay a fine or serve a week or more in jail; for thousands of impoverished Chinese immigrants, free room and board was a welcome punishment. Ostensibly to prevent outbreaks of lice and fleas, the Supervisors began requiring that all prisoners' heads be shaved. After passage through the Board of Supervisors, the order was immediately vetoed by San Francisco mayor William Alvord. In his veto, the mayor stated that "this order, though general in its terms, in substance and effect, is a special and degrading punishment inflicted upon the Chinese residents for slight offenses and solely by reason of their alienage and race." On April 3, 1876 the state of California passed their own law to Los Angeles's Sanitary Ordinance. The city no longer had the power to ignore the enforcement of the law, so the board made a second proposal of the Pigtail Ordinance.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission does not approve of their use with aluminum wire, instead only approving a specialized crimp connector and preliminarily approving a specialized screw terminal. In spite of this, several companies manufacture twist-on connectors which they claim are designed specifically for, and rated for, use with aluminum conductors. A woman with long pigtails, or braids. In the context of hairstyles, the usage of the term pigtail (or twintail or twin tail) shows considerable variation. The term may refer to a single braid, but is less frequently used in the plural to refer to twin braids on opposite sides of the head. On one side of the Gosforth Cross is a depiction of the Crucifixion; whilst on the other are scenes from Ragnarok. The melding of these distinctive religious cultures can further be seen in the depiction of Mary Magdalene as a valkyrie, with a trailing dress and long pigtail. Although one can read the iconography as the triumph of Catholicism over paganism, it is possible that in the process of the Catholicizing (as distinct from conversion) the Vikings might have initially accepted the Catholic god as an addition to the broad pantheon of Pagan gods. Ureteroscopy has become increasingly popular as flexible and rigid fiberoptic ureteroscopes have become smaller. One ureteroscopic technique involves the placement of a ureteral stent (a small tube extending from the bladder, up the ureter and into the kidney) to provide immediate relief of an obstructed kidney. Stent placement can be useful for saving a kidney at risk for postrenal acute kidney failure due to the increased hydrostatic pressure, swelling and infection (pyelonephritis and pyonephrosis) caused by an obstructing stone. Ureteral stents vary in length from and most have a shape commonly referred to as a "double-J" or "double pigtail", because of the curl at both ends.

The official inquiry found that the ordnance crew acted immediately on the Weapons Coordination Board's decision. They found that the pigtail was connected early, that the TER pin on the faulty Zuni missile was likely blown free, and that the missile fired when a power surge occurred as the pilot transferred his systems from external to internal power. Writing about the processes of social equalization in the 19th century, George W. E. Russell recorded that Sheppard was the only member of the House of Commons to wear a pigtail after the Reform Act 1832.George W. E. Russell, Collections & Recollections (Revised edition, Smith Elder & Co, London, 1899), at page 76. Like his election nominator of 1837, Thomas Bunn, Sheppard supported the Anti-Slavery movement and was a delegate for Frome at the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Convention, at the Freemason's Hall, London, on 12 June 1834. In 1838 Thomas bought the Folkington and Wootton manors in the South Downs and built for himself a new Folkington Manor, designed by the architect William Donthorne.

The Wutach Valley Railway or is one of the most unusual and impressive stretches of railway in Germany.
