Since its foundation, the institute has had support from Georgian scientists. After the Georgian-Ossetian conflict, 1991, Tskhinvali State Pedagogic Institute continued functioning in Gori city. Despite poor logistics the institute personnel kept the appropriate level of teaching process. On 16 June 2000 Tskhinvali State Pedagogical Institute received university status.

Maria Baciu (born 4 March 1942 in Todireni, Botoșani) is a Romanian poet, professor, and literary critic. She also writes novels, for adults as well as children. He was born in Puru, Kreis Wierland, Governorate of Estonia. As curator of the University of Tartu (1918–1925), he oversaw the university's transition to the Estonian language in the newly independent country.

He was appointed as a corresponding member of the Yugoslav Academy of Sciences and Arts in 1891, and as a full member in 1899. He served as the president of Matica hrvatska in 1902–1909. In 1892 he became an honorary member of the Croatian Pedagogic-Literary Society, in 1924 a member of the Society of the Brothers of the Croatian Dragon, and an honorary citizen of Krapina.

Purandaradasa is also believed to have introduced the mayamalavagaula raga scale as a pedagogic model. This raga was called malavagaula at the time, and lacked the second and fifth degrees. Purandaradasa or one of his peers added two notes to the scale, thus converting the pentatonic to a heptatonic scale. The Malavagaula was a mela as well as a raga, and had the largest number of ragas grouped under it.
Malahari, an ancient raga, was also grouped under this mela. Purandaradasa and other Haridasas refer to the malavagaula, Malahari and several others by the collective name of battisa (32) raga. This pedagogic model differed from the theoretical standard of the suddha-svara-saptaka, which corresponds to the Kanakangi of the present day. The suladi talas, which include a large number of their compositions was also used to teach the beginners.

The Medical Faculty became Kuban Medical Institute and the other two faculties were adnexed to the Institute of People's Education, Polytechnic Institute and Pedagogic Institute. Kuban State University was reopened later in 1970 without the medical faculty. In 1921 “Kubanski nauchni meditsinski vestnik” a regular press scientific organ of South Russia was created by the first rector of Kuban Medical Institute N.F. Melnikov-Razvedenkov. JPC de Sprengen is a penitentiary facility for boys (Juridisch Pedagogisch Centrum, Juridic Pedagogic Center) located in Wapenveld and Zutphen in the Netherlands. The facilities offer treatment as well as shelter or imprisonment. The two locations have a total capacity for 150 youth aged 12 to 24 years old. Placement in De Sprengen can be done as punishment for a committed crime or as a measure to protect a boy before he commits crimes.

Pansophism, in older usage often pansophy, is a concept of omniscience, meaning "all-knowing". In some monotheistic belief systems, a god is referred as the ultimate knowing spirit. Someone who is pansophical is someone who claims to have obtained omniscience. His father, Yevgeny Nikolaevich Lebedev, was an elite athlete–a member of the Soviet national water polo team, and later a professor at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow's highest technical school. After graduating from Moscow Pedagogic Institute, Alexander's mother, Maria Sergeyevna, worked in a rural Sakhalin school and later taught English in a Moscow tertiary school.

Constance Pascal was a Romanian-born psychiatrist who practised in France and became the first woman psychiatrist and the first women head doctor of a psychiatric hospital in France.. Best known for her work on dementia praecox, she researched the social as well as the biological causes of mental illness. Pascal founded one of the first ‘medical-pedagogic’ institutes in France. Her monograph, Chagrins d'amour et psychoses (1935), reflected her wide cultural interests.
Chernikov was born on 11 May 1912 in Sergiyev Posad, in Moscow Oblast, Russia, to Nikolai Nikolaevich, a priest, and Anna Alekseevna, a housewife. After graduating from secondary school, he worked as a labourer, as a driver, as a book-keeper and as an accountant. Until November 1931 he taught mathematics in a school for workers. Göranson was born in Lund, Sweden, the son of Sven-Eric Göranson, a Natural science teacher, school leader and principal at Komvux, and Margit, a language teacher (1921–2005). He soon moved with his parents to Kristianstad. He graduated from Österängsskolan in 1973, which followed by technical high school in Hässleholm before enrolling at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg in 1974. There he studied pedagogic, psychology and sociology and graduated in 1975 with a college examina in engineering.
Hutner was the long-time dean of Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin in Brooklyn, New York, an older institution that grew under his leadership. Hutner's pedagogic style was a blend of the Hasidic and Misnagdic elements of his own family's origins. His discourses, called ma'amarim, contained elements of a Talmudic discourse, a Hasidic Tish and a philosophic lecture. Although his title was rosh yeshiva, Hutner's leadership style more closely resembled that of a rebbe who expected fealty from his followers.
Completing her PhD in 1952, Vakhrusheva became the first Mansi woman to earn a scientific degree. Most of her research career was dedicated to creating textbooks and pedagogic materials for the Mansi and Khanty languages. She compiled a Mansi- Russian dictionary, a manual for teaching adult literacy, and designed curricula to train teachers in Mansi and Khanty. With her husband, she wrote the first complete orthography for Mansi grammar creating the foundation for the study of her native tongue.

Arkady Malov was born on 28 April 1928 in Bolshiye Toktashi village, Alikovsky District of the Chuvashia. Arkady Malov studied in Hodar middle school in the Shumerlinsky District, and in pedagogic department of the Chuvash State University. Malov worked as an editor of Chuvash State book publishing house, as secretary of Chuvash magazine «Ялав» (Flag), and as chief-editor of the Chuvash literature magazine «Тăван Атăл» (Native Atal). Poet died on 25 April 1995 in Cheboksary.

Clemente Estable (23 May 1894, Canelones – 27 October 1976, Montevideo) was a university professor and docent. He was a pioneer in the areas of cellular biology and neurobiology research. Estable was an educator, scientist and philosopher who left his mark on the intellectual collective thinking of his native land. Glover & Miller conducted a study on the pedagogic impact of interactive whiteboards in a secondary school. They found that although interactive whiteboards are theoretically more than a computer if it is only being used as an adjunct to teaching its potential remains unrealized. The authors' research was primarily to ascertain the extent and type of use in the classroom. In order to determine if any change in pedagogy or teaching strategies was taking place the researchers conducted a detailed questionnaire.

Broodwork's projects are often experiments in interdisciplinarity that investigate using one methodology to explore another. As a social practice entity, outside of curatorial installations, the creative output of Broodwork consists mostly of events, actions, and conversations. While adults are their primary audience, Broodwork's projects, particularly workshops and installations, are often designed for the two distinct audiences of adults and children, which is atypical for a contemporary art entity whose nature is not wholly pedagogic. Some of Broodwork's events involve parent- child interaction.
They were there when the first World War broke out. Konarzewski together with his wife, was interned deep inside the Russian empire, in the village of Gratschovka about 50 kilometers from Buzuluk a town in Orenburg Oblast. He spent his time in pedagogic and cultural activities among the families of Polish and Lithuanian exiles and their children. In 1918 he moved to the nearest township – Buzułuk, where he taught history and drawing in the local school spending his spare time painting.

Menhat Helmy was born in Helwan, Egypt in on July 11, 1925 as the middle child in a family of seven sisters and two brothers. She graduated from Cairo's High Institute of Pedagogic Studies for Art in 1949 before continuing her education abroad at the Slade School of Fine Art between 1953–55, where she focused on drawing, painting, and etching. She later studied coloured graphics at Morley College in London during her second stay in London between 1973-79.
For teaching Telugu, he wanted the spoken language to be the medium of instruction. This engulfed him in a war with the orthodox Sanskrit-educated pundits, which sometimes turned vitriolic. Due to Gidugu's tenacity and commitment, sishta vyavaharika (standard, current, and spoken language) gained currency and acceptance. To drive home his pedagogic, literary, humanistic, and modernizing thoughts, Gidugu boldly, untiringly and persuasively used the press, publications, the public platform, social discourse, and even pamphleteering, never once losing his cool and objectivity in argument.

A priority at Landau Zoo is the educational work of the Arten- und Tierschutzschule Landau (School for the protection of species and animals, Landau), called Zoo School, headed by Dr Gudrun Hollstein. Habib Gorgi (1892–1965) was an artist of the turn of the century pioneer generation of Egyptian modern art. He graduated from Teacher Training School then received a scholarship to England in 1920 to study pedagogic methods of art teaching, and watercolors. An early pioneer of art education, and the author of the first Arabic book on the subject in 1936. Larisa V. Matveyeva was born on May 9, 1969 in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. Matveyeva graduated from The Mykolaiv National Pedagogical University (now—The Mykolaiv V.O. Sukhomlynskyi National University) in 1992 (Faculty of History and Law). She has worked at the Mykolaiv State Enterprise "Shipyard named after 61 Communards" -- "UkrOboronProm" since 1993 in the Computer and Information Department of Administrative Systems, and since 2007—she has been a chief second to the head-chief of the department.The Mykolaiv Scientific-Pedagogic LIbrary Matveyeva has written poetry since her youth.
The 116 stained glass windows consist of more than 1,200 individual panels and were designed and made by the Carmelite nuns in Le Mans, France and painted by Eugène Hucher and associates. The 44 large windows depict 114 life-size scenes and 106 smaller scenes. They were installed beginning in 1873, over a period of 15 years. The subjects of the windows were carefully chosen by Fr. Sorin with a pedagogic purpose, and the choice and positioning of the depicted figures is intentional and highly symbolic.
In 1951, his painting "Sleeping Dancer", later purchased for a private collection in Mexico, received the second prize in a public vote organised during the Primera Bienal Hispanoamericana de Arte (Madrid). The 1950s in Istria were marked with the thought of getting more people into higher education, especially into economic and teacher professions. Two prominent Istrian intellectuals, Mijo Mirković and Tone Peruško, gave the decisive impulse of forming that point of view. The first two-year economic college (Higher School of Economics) was opened due to Mirković contribution in the academic year 1960/61, and in 1961/62 Peruško contributed by opening the Pedagogic Academy. Peruško was also the first head- master of the academy.
The Higher School of Economics developed into the Faculty of Economics and Tourism "Dr. Mijo Mirković", and the Pedagogic Academy into the Faculty of Philosophy in Pula and teacher training college in Pula. Neel Bagh was based on an innovative idea of Horsburgh and known for its creative methods in teaching well-planned learning materials. With his wife Doreen and his son Nicholas, Horsburgh developed a diverse curriculum, which included music, carpentry, sewing, masonry, gardening, as well as the usual school subjects, English, mathematics, Sanskrit, and Telugu. M2001 is a modular educational mathematical programming language for developing and presenting mathematical algorithms, from the modern discrete to the classical continuous mathematics. M2001 is built on a semantic framework that is based in category theory and has a syntax similar to that of Pascal or Modula-2. It is designed purely for pedagogic use, so efficiency and ease of implementation have been far less important in its development than generality and range of application. It was created to play an important role in forming a formal algorithmic foundation for first-year college math students.

In 1971 he moved with his wife, Sheila, a talented potter, to Holwell, a farmhouse in Devon, and converted it into an artistic centre. Sheila died of cancer in 1973, but with his second wife, Marcia, he set up the Holwell International Centre for Psychodrama and Sociodrama which continued until 1998. Christ, you grant. In the late tenth century, Latin had higher prestige than Anglo-Saxon, and hermeneutic Latin had higher prestige than simple Latin. This presented Byrhtferth with a problem in his Enchiridion, a school text designed to teach the complicated rules for calculating the date of Easter, as hermeneutic Latin is unsuitable for pedagogic instruction. His solution was to include passages in hermeneutic Latin condemning the ignorant and lazy secular clergy, who he said refused to learn Latin, thus justifying using Anglo-Saxon to provide clear explanations for their benefit.
On September 1, 1969, the institutes for education and pedagogic services were transformed into the nine organizational units of the National Education Institute, with regional units in Celje, Dravograd (from 1979 in Slovenj Gradec), Koper/Capodistria, Kranj, Ljubljana, Maribor, Murska Sobota, Novo Mesto, Nova Gorica, Murska Sobota. Between 1876 and 1888 he acted as Rector of the National Association of Buenos Aires. The Haggadah is a copy of the liturgy used during the Seder service of Jewish Passover. The most common traits of a Haggadah are the inclusion of an introduction on how to set the table for a seder, an opening mnemonic device for remembering the order of the service, and content based on the Hallel Psalms and three Pedagogic Principles. These written passages are intended to be read aloud at the beginning of Passover and during the family meal. These holy manuscripts were generally collected in private handheld devotional books.
The young Piarist taught in schools conducted by his order, went to study and teach in Rome, and upon returning via France, Germany and Austria committed himself to pedagogic, scientific and publicist work. In 1740 he established the Collegium Nobilium in Warsaw, a high caliber secondary education institution for nobility youth. When Granados died in 1916, Marshall became its director; he remained director until his death in 1959, and the institute's name was eventually changed to Académia Frank Marshall. Among his pupils at the school was the composer Vicente Asencio. He published two pedagogic works, Estudio práctico sobre los pedales del piano (Madrid, 1919) and La sonoridad del piano, which attempted to notate piano pedaling more precisely. Marshall's influence as a pianist and teacher impacted Catalan piano playing heavily; his approaches to pedaling and voicing helped refine the distinctive style of piano playing from the region.
Elisabeth Hemmes was born in Bensheim, then as now a prosperous mid-sized town located halfway between Darmstadt and Mannheim. (1840-1925), her father, was a teacher who later achieved notability as the director of the Royal Deaf-Mute Institute ("Bensheimer Großherzoglichen Taubstummenanstalt") and as the author of a pioneering six-year teaching programme for the deaf-mute. Despite her father's pedagogic career, when his daughter also became a teacher, she did so only in the teeth of her father's opposition. She taught English and French at secondary schools in Vallendar and Cologne.
She gained a master's degree in Germanic philology from the University of Lisbon in 1971, following it with a diploma in pedagogic sciences from the same institution. Irena Blühová (2 March 1904 – 30 November 1991) was one of the first women Slovak photographers and one of the first photographers in Czechoslovakia to utilize photography as a means of documentary study and social commentary. During World War II she was a communist dissident, working in the underground to disseminate literature and help refugees fleeing persecution. After the war, she helped establish the State Pedagogical Institute and founded the Slovak Pedagogic Library. Late in life she returned to the pursuit of photography and participated in many international exhibitions.
There were also government pedagogic institutes for teachers in Hebrew and Yiddish, courses for kindergarten teachers, popular universities, a popular Jewish music academy, evening schools for working youth, a Yiddish theater, and cultural clubs. Prior to her appointment as Minister, Suzanne Mbomback attended primary and secondary school in Yaoundé and later obtained her Bachelor's degree in 1976. She did and completed secretarial studies, graduating with a Higher Technical Certificate and a BIPCT in administrative technique. At the end of her academic career, she obtained a technical high school teaching diploma, which made her prevail as a teacher in the technical colleges of Yaoundé and Sangmélima. In 2000, she was appointed to the position of Pedagogic Inspector at the Provincial Delegation of Education for the Centre Region.

The choir at the time served as a pedagogic facility where the educated poets would recite their poems. Singing was not thought to be the work of these intellectuals and was instead entrusted to women with beautiful voices who would learn how to play some instruments used at that time such as the drum, the lute or the rebab, and perform the songs while respecting the poetic metre. In the 1977/78 school year, on the recommendation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Pedagogic Research Section, Varga was chosen by UNESCO's Institute for Education as the location of ongoing educational research under the leadership of Dr. Ottó Mihály and Dr. József Bernáth. As Minister of Education, she approved a history textbook for Arab children, wherein the 1948 Arab–Israeli War ("Israel's War of Independence") is described as the nakba – the disaster. This led the opposition leaders to demand her dismissal, while Member of Knesset Ronit Tirosh (Kadima), a former director general of the Education Ministry, said the "wretched" decision "is not justified from a pedagogic standpoint and is not a matter for political intervention." Alla Tarán has worked in Cuba as violin professor in several schools in the provinces of Santa Clara and Cienfuegos, as well as an assistant Concertino at the Havana Symphony Orchestra. Since 1978 she lives in Havana, where she has developed an outstanding effort as professor of violin at the National School of Arts, the Manuel Saumell Conservatory, the Amadeo Roldán Conservatory and the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA). Alla Tarán founded the first Children's Symphony Orchestra and the first Violin Ensemble in Cuba, which is still active. She received the Pedagogic Merit Medal and other important recognitions for her labor.
He founded the "Laboratory of dramaturgy, acting and texts" at the Lebanese University (Faculty of Literature since 1986, and later at the Fine Arts Institute since 1996) in which he trains actors using the method he created and named "Sufi Method" or "Total Method". The laboratory opens its doors occasionally to the audience for an active and expérimentale interaction. Since 2014, Trinity College's Science Department has established and operated a scheme for second-level students to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The system, similar to DCU's CTYI programme, encourages academically gifted secondary students with a high aptitude for the STEM subjects, was named the Walton Club in honour of Ernest Walton, Ireland's first and only Nobel laureate for Physics. The programme was centred upon a pedagogic principle of "developing capacity for learning autonomy". He is to be distinguished from another Francesco Maria Bassani two generations earlier (fl. 1621), nephew of the viola da gamba composer Oratio Bassani, who kept a pedagogic notebook Regole di contrapunto, which contains eight pieces, seven of which are probably by his uncle Oratio. He was maestro di cappella of the Duomo di Piacenza from 1673Francesco Saver Quadrio Della storia e della ragione d'ogni poesia, + indice universale 1744, p. 513 Upon the death of his sister and her husband, a musician named Keller from Germany, Francesco adopted his nephew Fortunato Chelleri and trained him as a musician.
He also took part in some of the celebrated Eranos seminars in Switzerland. Under his guidance a Center for Pedagogic Studies was created in 1962 by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, of which he became the Director until his early death, occurred in 1966, aged 58. He was member of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences and exchanged personal correspondence with international scholars and writers such as Mircea Eliade, Constantin Noica, Hermann Hesse, Ernesto Grassi and Michael de Ferdinandy. One high school and several streets were named after him in the Portuguese districts of Lisbon, Evora, and Matosinhos (Oporto).
A boy named Jon finds a piece of chalk, dropped by a witch, and uses it to draw a stick man on a fence, not knowing that it is magic. The stick man becomes alive and claims his name is Sofus. David Horsburgh introduced a variety of learning approaches and these creative methods involved taking part in a range of activities. Along with his wife Doreen, son Nicholas and daughter-in-law Penny, David Horsburgh developed a diverse curriculum, which included art, handicrafts, music, carpentry, pottery, sewing, masonry, gardening, philosophy as well as the usual school subjects, English, science, mathematics, Sanskrit, Hindi, Kannada and Telugu. These pedagogic materials were systematically planned, with sketches and drawings and an occasional touch of humour. David Horsburgh also built up a magnificent library in Neel Bagh that was accessible to both teachers and students.
The largest network "institutes" were medical, pedagogic (for the training of schoolteachers), construction and various transport (automotive and road, railroad, civil aviation) institutes. Some of those institutes were present in every oblast' capital while others were unique and situated in big cities (like the Literature Institute and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology ). Colloquially these universities and institutes were all referred to by the acronym "VUZ" (ВУЗ – высшее учебное заведение, "higher educational institution"). Students who wanted admission to a VUZ had to have graduated from either a general secondary school (10 or 11 years) or a specialized secondary school or a tekhnikum.

Pelagić's role was creating and developing the theory of physical culture in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. Marte Meo (Latin "by own power") is a method of educational counselling. It was developed in the late 1970s and early 1980s by the Dutch educational counsellor Maria Aarts. She recognised the difficulties in explaining scientific observations of a child's problems to parents and other educators, as they are often unable to relate to the pedagogic jargon and identify the relevance of these insights in everyday-life situations. She developed a method where normal situations between child and educator were recorded by video and later watched by the parents or other educators to enable discussion together.

Ercegan opened some new perspectives to the promotion of wrestling. He more particularly started the "FILA Golden Plan" whose goal was to provide technical assistance for developing countries. At the end of his term in 2002, about a hundred wrestling mats and a considerable number of books, magazines, videos and other pedagogic tools were distributed for free to National Federations.

Among his star pupils were David Oistrakh, Nathan Milstein, Iosif Brodsky, Samuil Furer, Boris Goldstein, Elizabeth Gilels (sister of pianist Emil Gilels and wife of the Soviet violinist Leonid Kogan), Igor Oistrakh, Mikhail Fikhtengoltz and Eduard Grach who was one of his last pupils. Russian composer Oscar Feltsman also studied in this school. In the Soviet Union Stolyarsky's name was always associated with the special pedagogic method for professional instruction(s) in music for gifted children (from an early age). Stoliarsky had superb personal qualities of a master teacher, highest musical instincts and organizational talent which made it possible for him to attain maximum results.
This SIG on design pedagogy aims to bring together design researchers, teachers and practitioners, and others responsible for the delivery of design education, to clarify and develop the role of design research in providing the theoretical underpinning for design education. The DRS Design Pedagogy Special Interest Group is bringing together other research which is directed to similar ends. Design research is not an irrelevant activity living in its own little ghetto, but rather it provides the basis for the academic core of design teaching and pedagogic innovation. By that means through the provision of the next generation of designers it links into design practice.
Urban Education had three sections: Administrative, under a Director-General; Pedagogic, with an Assistant Director of Classical Education, an Assistant Director of Vocational Education, and an Assistant Director of Girls' Education; and an Inspector Service. A Central Bureau of physical education was also created, consisting of a Commissioner of Sports, two monitors and a doctor. A dormitory was added to the Normal School for Girls for students from beyond the capital city, allowing for more young women to attend the school and for more trained staff to return to the provinces. In a certain number of provincial schools, incompetent teachers were replaced by students and graduates of the Normal School.
Dewey's educational theories were presented in My Pedagogic Creed (1897), The School and Society (1900), The Child and the Curriculum (1902), Democracy and Education (1916), Schools of To-morrow (1915) with Evelyn Dewey, and Experience and Education (1938). Several themes recur throughout these writings. Dewey continually argues that education and learning are social and interactive processes, and thus the school itself is a social institution through which social reform can and should take place. For the first time in Romania, he initiated the Pedagogic Practice for pupils and one of these pupils was Ion Creangă. In 1863 Titu Maiorescu published in Iași the "Yearbook of the Gymnasium and the Boarding School from Iași for the School Year 1862–1863"; the yearbook was preceded by his thesis: „Why Should the Latin Language be Studied in Gymnasium as Part of the Foundation of Moral Education?” On 28 March Titu Maiorescu's daughter, Livia, was born. She later married Dymsza; she died in 1946. On 8 October Titu Maiorescu is elected to lead the Institute Vasilian from Iași, which needed to be „fundamentally reorganized“.
The Central Council was founded in Kiev on at the initiative of the Society of Ukrainian Progressionists and with the participation of various Ukrainian political parties, Ukrainian military activists, workers, religious activists, students, entrepreneurs, public and cultural organizations such as the Ukrainian Science Society, the Ukrainian Pedagogic Society, the Society of Ukrainian Technicians and Agriculturists, etc. Mykhailo Hrushevsky was elected as the Head of the Rada while Volodymyr Naumenko, Dmytro Doroshenko, and Dmytro Antonovych were appointed as his deputies. On March 22, 1917 the Rada published its first declaration - To the Ukrainian people - in support of the Russian Provisional Government. On 26 (13) March Mykhailo Hrushevsky returned to Kiev from exile.

In November 1997 Buchwald was named to the Forward 50, a list of America's 50 most influential Jews, and has been part of Newsweek’s list of "top 50 Rabbis in America" the last three years. In May 2001, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters by Yeshiva University in recognition of his outreach work. Buchwald is renowned for making complex Jewish topics easier to grasp through his pedagogic skills and quick sense of humor (as noted in Sh’ma Magazine November 26, 1993 as one of several "Master teachers, recognized nationwide for [their] remarkable skills.") He lectures in the USA and internationally, and leads experiential programs.
Komarov became interested in modern pop music when his mother brought a tape recorder and some Beatles cassettes when he was six years old. In 1989, Vladimir left music school after completing eight years as a major in piano and three years in a Jazz and Pop faculty. On 1 September 1991, he started an art-punk band named Shoe Repair (Remont Obuvi) with his school, which morphed into a more serious project, Hot Zex, in the next couple of months. After graduating from World Culture Studies at the Novosibirsk State Pedagogic University History Department, Komarov enrolled as a social philosophy postgraduate at the Novosibirsk State Architectural University Philosophy Department.
Geometric cryptography is an area of cryptology where messages and ciphertexts are represented by geometric quantities such as angles or intervals and where computations are performed by ruler and compass constructions. The difficulty or impossibility of solving certain geometric problems like trisection of an angle using ruler and compass only is the basis for the various protocols in geometric cryptography. This field of study was suggested by Mike Burmester, Ronald L. Rivest and Adi Shamir in 1996. Though the cryptographic methods based on geometry have practically no real life applications, they are of use as pedagogic tools for the elucidation of other more complex cryptographic protocols.
Concerned about stagnation of modern dance after the death of José Limón and Martha Graham, foreseeing new development in contemporary and classical dance, Bogaerts developed a methodical-pedagogic system starting at age of twelve, that combines the Vaganova method with the Limón technique and emphasises on the knowledge he acquired working for many Olympic Training centres worldwide. He taught this system at the Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin, Ballettschule der Wiener Staatsoper, Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung Munich, the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, the Australian Conservatory of Ballet, the Victoria College of the Arts, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Saint Petersburg and the Royal Danish Ballet School.
In addition, he studied music theory with Immanuel Faisst, and music history and instrumentation with Ludwig Stark. After graduating in 1882, Leimer was a piano teacher at the Konigsberg conservatory, and became its director the following year. In 1891, his first pedagogic work on piano playing was published for use at the Conservatory. In 1896 Leimer moved to Hannover, and in October 1897 he founded a private music and theater school there, the direct precursor of today's College of Music and Theatre in Hanover, together with two other co-founders and directors - the Hanoverian court pianist Emil Evers and the chamber singer Hermann Brune.
In 1934 Varela moved to Madrid, where he contacted with the group PAN (Poetas Andantes y Navegantes, literally Walking and Sailing Poets -- note that the abbreviation makes reference to Pan, a Greek god, and is also the Spanish and Galician word for bread) and with Misións Pedagóxicas (Pedagogic Missions). He also joined the Communist Party of Spain (Partido Comunista de España or PCE). After the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939), Varela left Spain, exiling himself first in France and then, in May 1939, in Mexico. He moved to Buenos Aires in 1941, where he made contact with other exiled Galicians and emigrants from Galicia.
In 1889 he took up his old position at Hamburg, besides teaching at the Hamburg Conservatory. Subsequently he returned to America, becoming a teacher in New York City, and in Philadelphia. He was a member of the Beta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity at Combs College of Music, initiated in either 1900 or 1906, and was active in the Fraternity's New York Alumni Club. In addition to writing pedagogic material for the violin in the way of studies and finger exercises, and earning the reputation of being one of the foremost violin teachers of that day, he also interested himself in matters connected with the making of violins.

Engström graduated from the Högre lärarinneseminariet in 1864 and was a teacher at the Statens normalskola för flickor in 1864–1907. She was a member of the board of the Fredrika-Bremer- Förbundet in 1884–1920, of the Svenska lärarinnors pensionsförening (Retirement fund for female teachers) in 1873–1920, engaged in the women suffrage movement and regarded as a pioneer of the Pedagogiska sällskapet (Pedagogic Society). In 1889, a law reform allowed for women to become civil servants, and the following year, Engström became the first female civil servant in Sweden when she became a member of the state school education board of the Hedvig Eleonora Parish in Stockholm.
Also since the mid-1970s there was a drastic loss of professionals who left the country, mostly for economic reasons. Many educated Ethiopians sought higher salaries in foreign countries thus many of those who managed to finish higher education emigrated from Ethiopia creating an endless shortage of qualified professionals in every sector of the country. Now the custom of sending academics abroad with the risk of a brain drain is being replaced by expansion of masters and doctoral programs to up-grade academic staff. Instead, foreigners have been funding programs for leadership, management and pedagogic skills or sending staff to help strengthen teaching and management practices.
The earliest Western documents (in the form of literary works, art objects, and mythographic materials) concerning same-sex relationships are derived from ancient Greece. In regard to male homosexuality, such documents depict an at times complex understanding in which relationships with women and relationships with adolescent boys could be a part of a normal man's love life. Same-sex relationships were a social institution variously constructed over time and from one city to another. The formal practice, an erotic yet often restrained relationship between a free adult male and a free adolescent, was valued for its pedagogic benefits and as a means of population control, though occasionally blamed for causing disorder.
From the outset UFAR has become the lighthouse of collaboration with France and the mainstay of Francophonie in Armenia. The pedagogic principle of granting two Armenian and French state diplomas (Bachelor's and master's degrees) was adopted from the beginning. In his recent book, A Vigilant Society: Jewish Thought and the State in Medieval Spain (SUNY, 2013), Roiz rescues the richness of Jewish Sephardic thinking and its pedagogic traditions, which have been mangled by the advances of the vigilant world. He considers the Barcelona Dispute of 1263Roiz, Sociedad vigilante y mundo judío en la concepción del Estado, pp. 41ff. to be the decisive moment, when a militant vision of the public sphere became dominant. It destroyed both the enemy on the battlefield, Islam, and the other forms of knowledge and progress in the Mediterranean public sphere, defined by a sea whose shores extend to both Athens and Jerusalem.
In 1875, for instance, he completed Racconti delle fate, a translation of French fairy tales by Charles Perrault. In 1876 Lorenzini wrote Giannettino (inspired by Alessandro Luigi Parravicini's Giannetto), the Minuzzolo, and Il viaggio per l'Italia di Giannettino, a pedagogic series which explored the unification of Italy through the ironic thoughts and actions of the character Giannettino. Lorenzini became fascinated by the idea of using an amiable, rascally character as a means of expressing his own convictions through allegory. In 1880 he began writing Storia di un burattino (Story of a Marionette), also called Le avventure di Pinocchio, which was published weekly in Il Giornale per i Bambini.
She ended up in Recklinghausen (north of Essen and Dortmund) where she reorganised what briefly became a new (West) German national headquarters for the VkdL. (The 1937 ban had been lifted following the collapse of the Hitler régime.) Still under her chairmanship, the VkdL moved its national head office again, to a more permanent location in Essen, in 1949. Under Schmitz the VkdL developed from being an advocacy body to becoming an educational institution in its own right, creating programmes for training, education and schools policy. A particular priority for Schmitz involved the establishment of pedagogic academies as places for teacher training and, more specifically, backing the academic education of women.
The schools in their original location in 1909 The building was designed on the commission of the Devout of San José which was presided over by Josep Maria Bocabella, founder of the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia. Its principal promoter was Gil Parés, the first parish priest of the Sagrada Familia, who was the school's principal until 1930. At first he followed the pedagogic method of Andrés Manjón, founder of the school of Ave Maria de Granada, but from 1915 on he applied the Montessori method. The schools were inaugurated on November 15, 1909 by the Bishop of Barcelona, Juan José Laguarda y Fenollera.
That year, at the request of the Ministry of Education, Conta- Kernbach produced two reports evaluating vocational education available to girls in France. The following year, she provided an assessment on the same topic for girls from Saint Petersburg. In 1895, she completed her doctorate, again graduating magna cum laude, and returned to Iași, where she began teaching pedagogy and psychology at the and would remain there for more than 20 years. She also was named by the Ministry of Education as the director of the Şcolii Normale de Aplicaţie (Normal School of Applications) and worked to modernize the professionalism of teachers with pedagogic training at both schools.

On his return to Puducherry he was assigned several big responsibilities by the Indian government which by then had recovered the French Establishments. He founded the Pedagogic Centre, the Law College, the English Adult Course and the Interpreters course for which he was the Director at their early stage. Under Lamote de Grignon, the band began what were called the People's Symphonic Concerts (Conciertos Sinfónicos Populares), with two performances by the group at the Barcelona International Exposition in 1929. People's Symphonic Concerts was the title of a series of Sunday concerts given at the Palace of Fine Arts, built for the Barcelona Universal Exhibition of 1888, where the band also appeared regularly. The use of the pedagogic approach called phonics, particularly in the context of reading, may have helped mislead people into thinking that the phonics from which the term Ebonics is partially derived has this meaning.

Illustration from Housebook of Wolfegg Castle The Medieval Housebook of Wolfegg Castle (Hausbuch ausvon Schloss Wolfegg) is a handwritten compendium on various topics of practical knowledge useful for a nobleman written about 1480 by several authors. The Housebook is especially famous for its lively pictures, which provide a vivid insight into everyday life at the transition from the late Middle Ages to the Renaissance. A housebook is a manuscript commissioned by the noble elite or wealthy citizens with a pedagogic content. A distinction is made between three different types of texts collected in the housebooks: how to manage a household, descriptions of weapons (as for example the Housebook of Wolfegg Castle), and spiritual texts for home use.
In Western Europe, especially in monarchies, where no equal rights were granted for the Jewish population, radical Maskilim defined the new role of religion as an education of just citizens — like Moses Mendelssohn in his book Jerusalem or On Religious Power and Judaism which was a response to the Prussian reformer Christian Wilhelm von Dohm. The radical tendency of the pedagogic movement went so far, that Mendelssohn's student David Friedländer identified Judaism with the seclusion of modern European culture and secular Judaism could end up in conversion to the religion of the unsecularized state. In contradiction to his teacher early modern leadership turned out to be misled leadership, whose followers ended up as "Jewish citizens without any conscience".
The practice of going abroad to learn has been denoted by different terms in different contexts over the years, such as "exchange" or "transnational mobility". For the specific practice of sending people abroad on placements in public and private enterprise, the more neutral term of "placements abroad" has been preferred. Many different practices use the term "placement" as a denominator for their activities, and some form of definition is necessary to distinguish between these, and to mark it off from ordinary employment abroad as well as other forms of transnational mobility. Placements may be set up by an organiser who has made the necessary arrangements for a placement, defined the intended learning outcome, and thought out the pedagogic implications.
Inaugurated on 1 December 1998, the anniversary date of the mountaineering association, it was opened to the public on 1 June 1999. The interior circuit was developed so that visitors would not follow the same trajectory coming and going along the route, while providing information about the histo-cultural traditions of this cave, in addition to the scientific and geological history. Most Rev. Hubert Pailissen, SMA, in early 1949, said; "In this country, scarcely 15 percent of the school-going youth are girls. Afterward he retired to private life, writing several literary and historical works.
Despite Willingham's assertion that the potential for neuroscience to contribute to educational practice and theory is already beyond doubt, he highlights three challenges that must be overcome to marry the two disciplines effectively. The Goals Problem: Willingham suggests that education is a so-called "artificial science" that seeks to construct an ‘artifact’, in this case a set of pedagogic strategies and materials. Neuroscience, on the other hand is a so- called "natural science", concerned with the discovery of natural principles that describe neural structure and function. This difference means that some goals set by education are simply impossible to answer using neuroscience research, for example, the building of character or aesthetic sense in children.

Juris Binde graduated from the 2nd Rīga High School in 1973, after which he entered the Faculty of Radio Equipment and Communications at the Rīga Polytechnic Institute, earning a diploma as a radio engineer, constructor and technologist. He pursued further studies in Germany in 1990, at the Swedish Management Institute in 1995, and the University of Columbia in the United States in 2000. From 2005 until 2007, Mr Binde successfully pursued a doctorate at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the University of Latvia, earning his doctorate in business management. In parallel, Mr Binde also completed a programme at the University of Latvia on the fundamentals of the pedagogic education of university faculty members and university didactics (2006).
Meanwhile, he moved on from primary to secondary school, hoping to study to become a teacher. His father believed that the option was unaffordable, but his mother took extra work and as he grew older Rudolf also took every opportunity to work during the vacations in order to fund the necessary courses. The main focus of his scientific and pedagogic work was on the linguistics fields lexicology and lexicography, word formation, onomastics, general linguistics, and the history of the literary Albanian language. He served as chief of the Lexicology and Lexicography section of the University of Tirana during 1955–1990. He was also the scientific director of the two Albanian dictionaries: Fjalor i gjuhës së sotme shqipe (Dictionary of today's Albanian language) of 1980, and Fjalor i shqipes së sotme (Dictionary of present Albanian language) of 1984. Another field where Kostallari contributed was the history of the formation and development of the literary standard of the Albanian language, and its structural and functional characteristics.
From 1884, he served as the director of a female high school in Zagreb, and from 1896 as the first director of the newly established Grand Gymnasium in Zagreb's Donji Grad. He published writings in Agramer Tagblatt, Napredak, Hrvatska vila, Velebit and many other periodicals. In 1884, he was elected to the committee of Matica hrvatska, where he edited a number of Matica's editions among which the collection of poetry Hrvatska antologija (Zagreb, 1892) can be singled out as the most notable. Badalić was the author of numerous literary discussions, recensions, pedagogic articles, and together with Ivan Broz, wrote the mandatory high-school handbook Poetika i stilistika za Hrvatsku čitanku za niže razrede srednje škole.
His (fourth edition) of Geography Rectified: or a Description of the World from 1700 dedicated to a Thomas Goddard, is a comprehensive work from many aspects. It has more than 700 pages, including a long pedagogic preface, no fewer than 78 maps from Europe including the British Isles, Asia, Africa, America and a two circular maps of the world, representing planet Earth seen from exactly opposite sides – the known world as of its time. (Australia and Antarctica were not yet known in Europe by then.) It further contains explanations of many general geographical concepts such as Latitude and Longitude and more. It also contains several comparisons of commodities, customs, history, governments, coins and weights (etc) "with those in London".
He served as ballet master for Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah, and taught as guest teacher in many other schools and companies across the country. Wherever he went, he was a popular teacher and a welcome guest, known for his merry disposition, taste for fine food and drink, wicked sense of humor, and immaculate attire—except in class, where he always wore sweat pants. His last staff positions were as artistic director of the Virginia School of the Arts, in Lynchburg, and as adjunct professor of dance at nearby Sweet Briar College. During his seventeen years in Lynchburg, his artistic sensibilities and strong pedagogic abilities touched the lives of many in the local community.
Problem-based learning is a similar pedagogic approach, however, problem-based approaches structure students' activities more by asking them to solve specific (open-ended) problems rather than relying on students to come up with their own problems in the course of completing a project. Another seemingly similar approach is quest-based learning; unlike project-based learning, in questing, the project is determined specifically on what students find compelling (with guidance as needed), instead of the teacher being primarily responsible for forming the essential question and task. A meta-analysis conducted by Purdue University found that when implemented well, PBL can increase long-term retention of material and replicable skill, as well as improve teachers' and students' attitudes towards learning.
The public discussions of these topics turned into an important factor of the change of pedagogic mentality and the overall mentality of the society. A valuable trait of M. Lukšienė was her ability to get and embrace the newest information from a variety of sources, analyse the Western Europe education systems and the tendencies of their development, the newest ideas of education science, and to foresee the ways of their application in Lithuanian context. Meilė Lukšienė was able to communicate, to read in several languages – the Lithuanian, Polish, French, Russian, and German, thus was non-formally, intensively learning from a variety of sources of literature worldwide. Meilė Lukšienė had a characteristic deep systems- oriented thinking.
Books such as those by H.S.M. Coxeter routinely used the Erlangen program approach to help 'place' geometries. In pedagogic terms, the program became transformation geometry, a mixed blessing in the sense that it builds on stronger intuitions than the style of Euclid, but is less easily converted into a logical system. In his book Structuralism (1970) Jean Piaget says, "In the eyes of contemporary structuralist mathematicians, like Bourbaki, the Erlangen Program amounts to only a partial victory for structuralism, since they want to subordinate all mathematics, not just geometry, to the idea of structure." For a geometry and its group, an element of the group is sometimes called a motion of the geometry.
In 1951 Blühová began teaching at the State Pedagogical Institute and then in 1955 founded the Slovak Pedagogic Library, serving as its director until 1965. She also taught at the Teacher Training College until the late 1960s and in 1964, Blühová received the Medal of Work in recognition of her help to develop the state. However, her support for liberalization during the Prague Spring in 1968, led to her being branded as undesirable and a short censorship being placed on distribution of her works. In the 1970s and 1980s, she did solo exhibitions in Bratislava (1974), Berlin (1977), Helsinki (1981), Leipzig (1983), Trencin (1984), Banská Bystrica (1986), Bonn (1987), and Prague (1989).

The Palestinian Youth Association for Leadership and Rights Activation (PYALARA) is a youth-oriented Palestinian communication and media non- governmental organization designed to provide a creative outlet for young Palestinians frustrated by the harsh conditions of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Palestinians are taught to express themselves through written, oral, and media communications published in a monthly newspaper The Youth Times and a weekly television program, Alli Sowtak (Speak Up). PYALARA uses an open, two-way communication system, rather than the one-way pedagogic method favored by most educational institutions, to impart knowledge. The focus is on empowerment through learning about the rights of children and youth, civil and legal rights during conflict, team-building, raising cultural awareness, protecting the environment and social activism.
In 1801 Bartholomäus Herder founded the publishing firm in Meersburg. Among the first publications, which were mainly of a theological and pedagogic character, were Wessenberg's "Archiv für pastorale Conferenzen in den Landkapiteln des Bisthums Constanz" (1802–27). In 1810 the business moved to Freiburg im Breisgau, where, in connection with the university, a more comprehensive character was given to the publications and helped in developing new directions. Therefore, these fallacies, for pedagogic reasons, usually take the form of spurious proofs of obvious contradictions. Although the proofs are flawed, the errors, usually by design, are comparatively subtle, or designed to show that certain steps are conditional, and are not applicable in the cases that are the exceptions to the rules. The traditional way of presenting a mathematical fallacy is to give an invalid step of deduction mixed in with valid steps, so that the meaning of fallacy is here slightly different from the logical fallacy. The latter usually applies to a form of argument that does not comply with the valid inference rules of logic, whereas the problematic mathematical step is typically a correct rule applied with a tacit wrong assumption.
Marković held lectures on all philosophic disciplines (logic, psychology, physics, metaphysics, ethics, aesthetics, epistemology, pedagogy and the history of philosophy). At that period the concept of "philosophy" encompassed also history, geography, linguistics, anthropology, pedagogy, natural sciences and mathematics, which were taught by other professors. In his teaching of philosophy he adhered to the system developed by Johann Friedrich Herbart, which at the period (after the revolutionary 1848, which was much contributed to by young Hegelianists, so the authorities were intent to suppress Hegel's and Kant's influence) was generally accepted in Germany and Austria–Hungary. His system had pedagogic qualities for the development of consistence and strictness in conceptual thought and was hence fit to be "propedeutics of philosophical spirit at us".
This thrust has both research and development aims, and complementary foci across the mathematics and science projects. This thrust focuses on pedagogic content knowledge and aims to carry out investigations into how subject experts, current and future educators, develop their Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), and ways of capturing and portraying their use of PCK through case studies. The idea is to explore a number of issues such as models that are useful for describing and analysing teachers’ PCK, the resources and artifacts that educators employ, and the extent to which disciplinary knowledge is context bound.

The ideas of democracy and social reform are continually discussed in Dewey's writings on education. Dewey makes a strong case for the importance of education not only as a place to gain content knowledge, but also as a place to learn how to live. In his eyes, the purpose of education should not revolve around the acquisition of a pre-determined set of skills, but rather the realization of one's full potential and the ability to use those skills for the greater good. He notes that "to prepare him for the future life means to give him command of himself; it means so to train him that he will have the full and ready use of all his capacities" (My Pedagogic Creed, Dewey, 1897).

In April 1969, Chicano college students held a nationwide conference at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Many of the attendees were present at the First National Chicano Youth Liberation Conference hosted by Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales' Crusade for Justice a month prior, and the Santa Barbara conference represented the extension of the Chicano Youth Movement into the realm of higher education. The name "Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán" was already in use by a few groups, and the name was adopted by the conference attendees because of the importance of each of the words and as a means of transcending the regional nature of the multiple campus-based groups. Conference attendees also set the national agenda and drafted the Plan de Santa Bárbara, a pedagogic manifesto.

A major impetus for the current understanding of pedagogy was the educational philosophy of the Swiss social thinker Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712–1778). Concerned with the decay of society, he developed his theories based on his belief that human beings were inherently good as they were closest to nature when born, but society and its institutions corrupted them and denaturalized them. Consequently, bringing up children in harmony with nature and its laws so as to preserve the good was central for Rousseau's pedagogic theory. Rousseau innovatively “argued that the momentum for learning was provided by the growth of the person (nature) – and that what the educator needed to do was to facilitate opportunities for learning,” as Doyle and SmithDoyle, M. Euclid and His Modern Rivals is a mathematical book published in 1879 by the English mathematician Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832–1898), better known under his literary pseudonym "Lewis Carroll". It considers the pedagogic merit of thirteen contemporary geometry textbooks, demonstrating how each in turn is either inferior to or functionally identical to Euclid's Elements. In it Dodgson supports using Euclid's geometry textbook The Elements as the geometry textbook in schools against more modern geometry textbooks that were replacing it, advocated by the Association for the Improvement of Geometrical Teaching, satirized in the book as the "Association for the Improvement of Things in General". Euclid's ghost returns in the play to defend his book against its modern rivals and tries to demonstrate how all of them are inferior to his book.

The former describes attendance at two hypothetical concerts: one of Debussy and another of Ravel. Pound states that a person who attended both concerts knows more about the composers than someone who has only read "ALL of the criticisms that have ever been written of both". After college, Herrick studied photography at the Clarence H. White School of Photography in New York City in the early 1920s. Clarence Hudson White was a self-taught photographer who greatly influenced the course of photography in the early 20th century as a teacher and mentor. A number of his students went on to prominent and influential careers of their own including Margaret Bourke-White, Paul Outerbridge, Dorothea Lange and Anton Bruehl. Herrick graduated from the Clarence White School in 1924. According to Bonnie Yochelson, an authority on Clarence White: > [White’s] pedagogic philosophy was grounded in the arts-and-crafts movement, > which sought to bring beauty into the lives of all people, and in the > progressive ideals of John Dewey, who encouraged each student to find his > own way.

Opening to others is the contribution to living: as this sense of solidarity fails with everything, we will have the bother of anguish inside us. So the meaning of life is that of hope and love: the other individuals are not antithetical to their ego, but a necessary development of their ego.

The word bouffon comes from a Latin verb: , to puff (i.e., to fill the cheeks with air); the word "Buffo" was used in the Theatre of ancient Rome by those who appeared on the stage with their cheeks blown up; when they received blows that they would make a great noise causing the audience to laugh.p.780 Encyclopædia Britannica; or A Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, and Miscellaneous Literature, Volume 4 Archibald Constable and Company, 1823 The usage of the word bouffon comes from French and has entered English theatrical language through the work of Jacques Lecoq and his pedagogic inquiry into performance approaches of comedy, leading him to create dynamic classroom exercises that explored elements of burlesque, commedia dell'arte, farce, gallows humor, parody, satire, slapstick, etc. that collectively influenced the development of modern bouffon performance work.
He also organized lectures by artists at Columbia. A result of Crone’s curatorial and pedagogic initiatives was the thematic exhibition Similia/Dissimilia, conceived and organized by Crone in collaboration with his students (1986–87). The Philological faculty is a community of scholars and practicing teachers who love language and generously share their knowledge with students and colleagues from Russia and abroad. The scientific life of the faculty is very active: scholars elaborate various trends, apply for and get grants, participate in international, national and branch conferences, seminars and symposia; there are Doctorate dissertation councils for philological, pedagogic and psychological sciences. Thanks to big efforts of the teachers and academicians Russkiy Mir Foundation opened its department inside of RUDN in 2008. Russkiy Mir foundation created by Vladimir Putin in 2007 is a government-funded organization aimed at promoting the Russian language, culture and educational programs abroad. #Ecological faculty, founded in 1992. It has 514 students and 8 departments. The faculty numbers 80, among them 15 academicians and corresponding members, 35 full professors and 31 PhDs.
As a consequence of his pedagogic activity during the 1990s, two chamber orchestras were created: the Manuel Saumell Orchestra and the Havana Chamber Orchestra. Tieles was President of the Music Section of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), from 1977 to 1984, and worked for many years as coordinator of the Cuban Music Journeys and the Contemporary Music Festival of the Socialist Countries in Havana, Cuba. He also created the Contemporary Music Festival of Havana, and founded along with his brother Cecilo, the Tieles Duo, to which many composers, such as Ramón Barce, Xavier Benguerel, Harold Gramatges, José Ardévol, Nilo Rodríguez, Salvador Pueyo and Gottfried Glöckner, among others, have dedicated original compositions. Other important Cuban composers have dedicated pieces to Evelio TIeles, such as the Cuban composers Alfredo Diez Nieto and Roberto Valera and the Spanish composer Ramón Barce.
Horace Ezra Bixby (May 8, 1826 – August 1, 1912) was a steamboat pilot on the Mississippi-Missouri-Ohio river system from the late 1840s until his death in 1912. Bixby is notable in his own right for his high standing in his profession, for his technical contributions to it, and for his service in the American Civil War. However, he is best known for having had as his "cub pilot" (that is, apprentice or trainee) the young man known to him as Sam Clemens, later to become famous under his pen name as American author Mark Twain. Twain's descriptions of Bixby's character and pedagogic style form a good part of his memoir Life on the Mississippi, and it was through this medium that Bixby—much to his annoyance—became well-known beyond the circles of his family, friends and profession.
At The Juilliard School, where he earned his master's degree, he studied solfège and score reading with the renowned Mme. Renée Longy—known to generations of Juilliard students as “the infamous madame of dictation” for her rigorous demands and classic pedagogic methods—and composition with Vincent Persichetti. His most influential composition teacher, however, was Elie Siegmeister, with whom he studied privately. Shapiro is Laureate Conductor of the Chappaqua Orchestra in New York’s Westchester County, which he conducted for the world premiere of his score for the classic 1931 film Frankenstein (directed by James Whale and starring Boris Karloff) (which has since its premiere received over fifty productions internationally) as well as for the world premiere of his own orchestral work, Roller Coaster, which received its West Coast premiere under the baton of Marin Alsop in 2010 at the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music while Shapiro was a composer in residence.
However, numerous exhibits coined from National Socialism and large propaganda shows were not achieved. Konrad Hahm dedicated himself to the founding of an “Instituts für Volkskunstforschung” (Institute for Folk Art Research) that under his guidance became associated with the Berlin University in 1940. One of the museum affiliated branches, “Schule und Museum” (School and Museum) appeared as early as 1939 in a museum pedagogic perspective. Adolf Reichwein, a progressive and humanistic educator and active resistance fighter in the Kreisau Circle, took over leadership until his arrest and later execution in October 1944. With the establishment of a “Eurasian” department in the Museum for Ethnology, whose institution was consistent with the National Socialist ideology, the folklore collections had to give all of their “non-German” collection to the Museum for Ethnology. The museum, meanwhile, had to transfer all of their “German” objects to the Museum for German Folklore.
Harm G. Schröter (Schroeter) is professor of economic history at the University of Bergen, Norway. After studying history, geography and pedagogic he received his PhD in 1981 from the Department of History at University of Hamburg and in 1992 his Habilitation from the Department of Economics at the Free University of Berlin. Since then he has taught at several universities in Germany, Norway and the United States in both, departments of economics and of history. Schröter’s main project is to find out more about Europe’s specific economic profile and character during the last two centuries. Consequently he explored on the relation between state and the economy, economic cooperation (cartels, cooperatives, cooperation between capital and labour, etc.), European multinational enterprise, technological innovation, (dis-) advantages of European small developed states, institutions and innovation, the “European enterprise”, and on the transfer of economic behaviour and values (Americanization).
As for Film Education, the corresponding degree was only set up in National Conservatoire after 1971, on a pedagogic experimental basis, in the scope of the reform process undertaken by Madalena Perdigão, in the time of Minister Veiga Simão. By that time, the Pilot School for the Formation of Film Professionals (Escola Piloto para a Formação de Profissionais de Cinema) was created and its first degree initiated in 1973. From the beginning, a deep concern of this school has been to complement the technical knowledge necessary to cinema-linked professions with a more artistic component. The degree being offered today by the Department of Film of the Lisbon Theatre and Film School has gone through an evolution since 1973 but its philosophy is still the same as that of the first degree which, it should be stressed, was very much of a pioneer in Portuguese public higher education.
In 1938, Bense initially worked as a physicist at the Bayer AG in Leverkusen. After the outbreak of World War II he was a soldier, firstly as a meteorologist, then as a medical technician in Berlin and Georgenthal, where he was mayor for a short time after the end of the war. In 1945 the University of Jena appointed him to curator (Chancellor of the University) and offered him the possibility of postdoctoral work (habilitation), which was likely to be cumulative, at the Social-Pedagogic Faculty, which was followed by an appointment to Professor extraordinarius of philosophical and scientific propaedeutics. In 1948, Bense fled from the political development of the Soviet occupation zone to Boppard; and he was appointed as a guest professor in philosophy and theory of science by the University of Stuttgart in 1949, and as senior lecturer (associate professor) there in 1950.
Frederick the Great also formalized further educational stages, such as the Realschule and the highest stage, the gymnasium (state funded secondary school), which was used as university-preparatory school.Christopher Clark, Iron Kingdom: The Rise and Downfall of Prussia, 1600–1947 (2008) ch 7 The final examination, Abitur, was introduced in 1788, implemented in all Prussian secondary schools by 1812, and extended to all of Germany in 1871 and is in place till the present. Passing the Abitur was a pre-requisite to entering the learned professions and higher echelons of civil service. Generations of Prussian and as well German teachers, which in the 18th century often had no formal education and in the very beginning often were former petty officers without pedagogic training, tried to gain more academic recognition, training and better pay and played an important role in various protest and reform movements.
Gómez was born in Texcoco and began her adult life as a teacher in the State of Mexico education system. In 1986, she earned her degree in Primary Education from the National Pedagogic University, which she paid for by caring for another family's three children; this was followed by master's degrees in pedagogy (in 1994) and in education (in 2001, from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education); additionally, she was active in the SMSEM union for state teachers. She directed the private Columbia School between 1991 and 1996. In 1998, she was named assistant deputy director of projects in the state Secretariat of Education; four years later, she became a school director, facing off against one of her colleagues to see who would be named director of the Nezahualcóyotl public school in the center of Texcoco, winning more than half of the 36 votes cast.
Born into a cultivated Jewish Polish family, from a renowned surgeon father and a musician mother, the brothers Henryk Wieniawski (1835-1880) and Józef Wieniawski (1837-1912) benefit very early on from an education stimulating their artistic development. Wieniawski, title page of the Sonata for piano and violin (op. 24) dedicated to his brother Henryk (Library of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, B-Bc, FC-3-W-019/1) While Henryk, violin prodigy in the footsteps of Henri Vieuxtemps, Joseph Joachim or Pablo de Sarasate, develops a brilliant career as Konsertmeister, pedagogue and composer, his younger brother Józef, student of Pierre Zimmerman, Antoine-François Marmontel and Charles-Valentin Alkan at the Paris Conservatoire, subsequently of Franz Liszt in Weimar, becomes renowned as a brilliant pianist. Pursuing a pedagogic activity at the Russian Musical Society and at the Moscow Conservatory, he settles in Brussels where he consolidates his virtuoso reputation, especially of Chopin's work.
On the occasion of this transfer, the collection, until then shared by both the museum and the school, was dismembered. Most of the art collection stayed with the museum, and an assemblage of documents, "didactic" works of art or artworks produced in pedagogic activities, as well as the Jeronymo Ferreira das Neves collection (donated to the art school in 1947) was transferred to the Ilha do Fundão campus, serving as core collection of the university's Museu Dom João VI. After the transfer, the Fundação Nacional de Artes (National Arts Foundation) was installed in the school's former rooms. In the 1980s some serious structural problems were detected in the building. Since they represented a major threat to the preservation of the collection, the museum passed through a series of reforms, with the aim of modernizing the exhibition areas and reformulating the museographic project and, at the same time, preserving the building original style and decoration.
Andraka is a co-organizer of the Polish Regents Exams, as well as the Certification Program for Polish as a second language regulated and supervised by the Ministry of National Education of Poland, which takes place at Columbia University in New York. She has received numerous awards for her didactic and pedagogic work from institutions such as the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Senate of the Republic of Poland, and various state institutions of the United States. The awards include the Gold Cross of Merit of the Republic of Poland and the Medal of the National Education Commission. Geert Richt Alexander Kliphuis is an author, songwriter and guitarist, born in the Netherlands in 1955, and currently living in Brussels, Belgium. His father was the art therapist Maks Kliphuis (1923-2015), as a teacher one of the driving forces behind Middeloo, the social-pedagogic training centre for therapists in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, and later head of the department of creative process therapy [1] at the Jelgersma Kliniek of Leiden University. Kliphuis's mother, who died in 1964, was Nel van der Velde, a drama teacher, radio presenter and author of children's books, and poetry and fiction for adults. (Het Kleinere Werk and Het Grotere Werk were published posthumously in 2008/2009 by the Erven Nel Kliphuis-Van der Velde.) Working as a street- musician in Brussels, the former West-Berlin, Barcelona, Hamburg, London and Paris during the 1970s and 1980s, Kliphuis wrote an extensive series of short travel stories for NRC Handelsblad, the national newspaper published in Rotterdam.

Found in Bittir (?), near Jerusalem The earliest Western documents (in the form of literary works, art objects, and mythographic materials) concerning same-sex relationships are derived from ancient Greece. The formal practice, an erotic yet often restrained relationship between a free-born (i.e. not a slave or freedman) adult male and a free-born adolescent, was valued for its pedagogic benefits and as a means of population control, though occasionally blamed for causing disorder. Plato praised its benefits in his early writingsPlato, Phaedrus in the Symposium but in his late works proposed its prohibition.Plato, Laws, 636D & 835E In the Symposium (182B-D), Plato equates acceptance of homosexuality with democracy, and its suppression with despotism, saying that homosexuality "is shameful to barbarians because of their despotic governments, just as philosophy and athletics are, since it is apparently not in best interests of such rulers to have great ideas engendered in their subjects, or powerful friendships or physical unions, all of which love is particularly apt to produce".
In 1899, he was sentenced to a year in prison for publicly striking Ernst Lieber, a Reichstag delegate and head of the Catholic Church-linked Center Party, with a dog whip. Brand became involved in Magnus Hirschfeld's Scientific-Humanitarian Committee (the first public homosexual rights organization), until there was a split in 1903; that same year Brand led the formation of the Gemeinschaft der Eigenen organisation with the scientist Benedict Friedlaender as principal theorist, and Wilhelm Jansen. To this new group, male-male love, in particular that of an older man for a youth, was viewed as a simple aspect of virile manliness available to all men; they rejected the medical theories of doctors such as Magnus Hirschfeld who found that a gay man was a certain type of person, the intermediate sex. The GdE was a sort of scouting movement that echoed the warrior creed of Sparta and the ideals of pederasty in Ancient Greece, and the ideas on pedagogic eros of Gustav Wyneken.
His numerous publications commenced with An Answer to Barbeyrac's Spirit of the Ecclesiastics of all Ages as to the Doctrines of Morality, 1722. In 1730 he published A System of English Ecclesiastical Law, extracted from the "Codex Juris Ecclesiastici Angli" of Bishop Edmund Gibson, for the use of students for holy orders. It was in recognition of this work, which passed through four editions in a few years, that the University of Oxford gave him the degree of D.D. In 1736 Grey published The Miserable and Distracted State of Religion in England, after previous consultation with Dr. Zachary Grey. Three pedagogic works on Hebrew were A New and Easy Method of Learning Hebrew without points, to which is added by way of Praxis the Book of Proverbs divided according to the metre, with the Masoretical readings in Roman letters (1739, 3 parts), Tabula exhibens Paradigmata Verborum Hebraicorum (1739), and Historia Josephi Patriarchi; praemittitur nova methodus Hebraice discendi.
In 1801, during the turbulent period prior to the dissolution of the old German Empire, he began his career, at the instance of the Prince-Bishop (soon afterwards Prince Primate) Karl Theodor von Dalberg, in the capacity of "publisher to the princely episcopal court of Constance", at Meersburg on the Lake of Constance, the episcopal residence and seat of a seminary. Among his first publications, which were mainly of a theological and pedagogic character, were Wessenberg's Archiv für pastorale Conferenzen in den Landkapiteln des Bisthums Constanz (1802–27). In 1810 Herder transferred his business to Freiburg im Breisgau, where, in connection with the university, he gave a more comprehensive character to his publications and developed in new directions. One of his most important publications was Karl von Rotteck's Allgemeine Geschichte vom Anfang der historischen Kenntniss bis auf unsere Zeiten (9 volumes, 1812–27; the 15th edition being issued by another firm), which for more than a generation was "the gospel of the educated liberal middle classes".
Writing soon after Debussy's death, Newman found them laboured – "a strange last chapter in a great artist's life"; Lesure, writing eighty years later, rates them among Debussy's greatest late works: "Behind a pedagogic exterior, these 12 pieces explore abstract intervals, or – in the last five – the sonorities and timbres peculiar to the piano." In 1914 Debussy started work on a planned set of six sonatas for various instruments. His fatal illness prevented him from completing the set, but those for cello and piano (1915), flute, viola and harp (1915), and violin and piano (1917 – his last completed work) are all concise, three-movement pieces, more diatonic in nature than some of his other late works. Le Martyre de saint Sébastien (1911), originally a five-act musical play to a text by Gabriele D'Annunzio that took nearly five hours in performance, was not a success, and the music is now more often heard in a concert (or studio) adaptation with narrator, or as an orchestral suite of "Fragments symphoniques".
The Lisbon Theatre and Film School became then an organic unit of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, still in a process of internal organisation by the mentioned Committee until the publication of its Statutes in Journal of Laws (Diário da República), 2nd series, nr. 15, of January 18, 1995. When totally new premises were built in Amadora, within the greater Lisbon area, for the Lisbon Theatre and Film School(the first building ever constructed in Portugal specifically to host a public artistic higher education establishment), it was finally possible to move from the old Caetanos' Convent (Convento dos Caetanos), in Lisbon, where Almeida Garrett´s Conservatório Geral de Arte Dramática had provisionally functioned, to modern premises designed to have adequate teaching rooms, studios, performing areas, library and cafeteria, all of which offer the best working conditions for its students. The bi-departmental structure of the School, a historical heritage from the previous schools of Theatre and of Film of the National Conservatoire, led to a certain pedagogic-scientific autonomy granted to the two Departments, according to the Statutes.

Besides scientific and organizational activity, V.S.Sobkin is a chairman of Ethno-psychological section of the Russian psychological society, editor of scientific series “Studies on sociology of education”, a member of editorial board of the magazine “Questions of psychology”, “Questions of mental health of children and teenagers” and other issues. V.S.Sobkin was awarded to “Honorary Science Worker of the RF” (October 2008) and was decorated with Medal “ For service to motherland” II Degree (April 2004), Medal “In commemoration of 850 years of Moscow” (October 1997). In addition, he has such awards: Badge “Honorary worker of general education of the RF” (2002), the President Prize in the field of education for the year 2001, Letter of commendation of the Ministry of education (April 2000), Medal of K.D.Ushinskyi “For service to pedagogic sciences” (June 1998), Golden medal of the Russian Academy of education “For achievements in science” (November 2007).
In support of radical inclusion in the field Read's work simultaneously engages theoretical study, performance practices and pedagogic commitments. Steve Tompkins of the architectural practice Haworth Tompkins, has recognised the significance of Read's concepts of the everyday, cultural accretion, and event ghosting in their winning submissions for the Royal Court Theatre and Young Vic Theatre in London. Tompkins has written: “Read has been an excellent sounding board, a provocative collaborator, an encouraging enthusiast and a constructive critic for my work.” Indeed, what Susannah Clapp of The Observer has described as ‘Tompkinsesque' characteristics of theatrical design, could be said to share significant features with Read's long running concerns for archaeologies of site and the theatre as memory machine. The Homo Novus Festival in Riga took up Read's concept of ‘The Last Human Venue' as an overarching curatorial umbrella for their 2013 international festival with artists including Monika Pormale, Nomadi and Valters Sillis responding to Read's idea of performance at the end of its ecological tether measuring the humans' distance from their inevitable extinction.
Teotónio de Souza retired from October 2014 as Cathedratic professor of the Universidade Lusófona, after representing, since 1996, the interests of History teaching and research on the Scientific and Pedagogic Councils, of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Education and Administration of the Universidade Lusófona, as an ex-officio member. While acting as coordinator / Director of the MA and M.Phil courses in History, he guided M.Phil and Ph.D researchers in Political Science and Diplomatic Relations, and directed a line of research related to "Colonial and Post-Colonial Societies", and Memories of CPES (Centro de Pesquisa e Estudos Sociais) of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Universidade Lusófona, Lisboa. He was Director-Editor of the Journal of ACSEL (Associação dos Cientistas Sociais do Espaço Lusófono) and continued to help as Chief-Editor of the Journal FLUXOS E RISCOS - Revista de Estudos Sociais, that published the research findings of CPES (Centre for Social Research and Studies). He was also a Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Immigrant & Refugee Studies.
Secondly it sets into place a system of regulating the entire industry itself as a whole, through taxation norms, through reformist agendas and policies to improve cinema etc., and finally through the staging of the pedagogic function of censorship, where censorship is not merely about prohibiting a particular view, but since the native actually does not know how to see, or what to see, censorship is also tied to the task of teaching the natives to see properly. This reformist agenda is described by Ashish Rajadhyaksha as the process of “creating a better cinema and worthy of incarnating the citizen as the filmgoing subject” The interlinked ideas of regulation, reform and education establishes the normative function of cinema and of censorship, and one of the challenges lies in ways in which we can read them not as they traditionally have been in isolated modes, but in a way that renders them a part of a larger project of mobilizing (to borrow from Saeed Mirza) a certain kind of cinema for a certain kind of state.
