Masochist is the first full-length album by deathcore band Elysia. It was originally planned to be released on This City Is Burning Records, but problems forced them to release it independently. Plans for a re-release on the Tribunal Records label also fell through, when the drummer quit right as they were to enter the studio to rerecord it. Thus, the band has always sold it on their own.

She sometimes ends up in compromising positions which her assistant Yura always manages to capture on tape. ; : :She was assigned to spy on Shiratama Middle School Soft Tennis team by Misaki Shidou. Instead of getting their information, she 'enjoyed' her stay with them and indulged her obsession of taking 'sadistic' photos for her own masochist satisfaction. She seems to be somewhat obsessed with taking lewd photos and videos of her captain.

Walter Klemmer, an engineering student, is introduced very early on. He comes early to class and watches Erika perform. He eventually becomes Erika's student and develops a desire for his instructor. Erika sees love as a means of rebellion or escape from her mother and thus seeks complete control in the relationship, always telling Klemmer carefully what he must do to her, although she is a sexual masochist.

Due to her suggestive talk and behavior toward suffering and pain, Yoshiharu suspects she is a masochist. ; :Nobuna and Nobukatsu's mother. She has a very estranged relationship with her daughter, which worsens even more when she thinks Nobuna killed Nagamasa Asai. ; :The Oda clan's latest addition, who suddenly appears to help Nobuna and Yoshiharu decide the best strategy against the threat of the Mōri clan, the Honbyo Temple, and Uesugi Kenshin.

He wields an axe and chain in battle. He is somewhat of a masochist as he loves it when Mana scolds and hits him and has expressed desires to be "more" with her. He was defeated in battle by Haruhiko and sealed in a device that Mana has so in case he gets troublesome, she can seal him back up. ; At first she appears to be a clumsy, but cute engraver working for Yamamoto.

It is hinted that she has deeper feelings for Sen and is a masochist, who longs for Sen's abuses. Her weapon is a double-bladed pole that can split into two individual katana, and she can shoot a number of shuriken, kunai or any throwable material from under her skirt. Her glasses allow her to detect an individual's power level and also see through any man-made material. She later becomes Muneakira's seventh Master Samurai.

Yūki's goal in life is to be confessed to by a girl before he dies. Yūki is said to be a very skilled manga artist, who could rank much better if he truly wanted, but his interest in drawing panties as his priority gives him only a decent ranking at best. He is 22 years old and happens to be a major masochist. ; : (anime), Mamiko Noto (drama CD) :Sahoto is Yūki's 19-year-old assistant.

Mr. Slave (voiced by John Hansen) is the homosexual lover of Mr. Garrison up until the episode "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina" when he breaks up with Garrison after Mr. Garrison had a sex change. Mr. Slave, as his name suggests, is a masochist and is permanently dressed in a leather bondage outfit. He has a tooth gap and his catchphrase is an excited exclamation of "Jesus Christ!" spoken with a gay lisp.

Initially a rival of Nina, but came to respect her because of her strength in mathematics after losing to her in a mathematical battle. ; :Portrayed by Dori Sakurada :He was transferred to the school by a mistake. A person who is very bad at mathematics and is unable to solve a middle school math problem. He is summoned around like a servant by Nina and Sayuri, but does not complain about it, with a slightly masochist personality.

Another glaring difference is that most businessmen do not, generally speaking, go about begging to be punished; the Chief Clerk is a fervent masochist who constantly begs people to scold and/or punish him and managed to anger Yoko greatly by asking her to break him to her will. In combat, the Chief Clerk's masochistic tendencies sometimes come in use, as even Jasei's skeletal troops seemed to be taken aback by his aggressive solicitation of punishment.

High school girl Maika Sakuranomiya has trouble finding a part-time job because of how scary she looks when smiling. However, she is scouted one day by an Italian man who is also the manager of Stile ( ), a café where its waitresses are given unique traits such as tsundere and younger sister. Maika is given a sadistic trait because of her looks and has to adopt a dominant and cruel persona when servicing customers, particularly masochist ones.

It took the magazine ten years to regain its pre-scandal status and reputation. In Germany, it is also remembered for the publication in 1971 of We've had abortions!, a public declaration by several hundred women provoked by Alice Schwarzer to defy its illegality at that time in West Germany. In 1990, Stern published the title story "I am a masochist" in which author Sina- Aline Geißler discussed her literary coming-out as a member of the BDSM scene.

It had a total budget of $5 million ($ million in dollars), which made it the most expensive music video made up to then, and currently the third most expensive of all time. Tohjiro instituted a separate hardcore S&M; themed label, CORE SM, in December 2005 with its first release being Maki Tomoda - Bound Masochistic Slave. Beginning in 2005, Dogma sponsored the D-1 Climax (D-1 クライマックス) awards as a competition for directors inside and outside of the Dogma studio. Tohjiro won the 1st Place award in 2005 and 2006 but finished 9th in 2007, the last year of the contest.

Immediately upon his arrival, she asks him to defeat the Demon King and the foul beasts that roam the land, only for him to suplex her, revealing her underwear to the world. Now, she is known as the "Buttocks Princess" by everyone in the kingdom and still attempts to convince Genzō to slay the Demon King. Later in the manga, after being humiliated in one of her wrestling matches, she becomes a masochist. ; : :A half human, hald lizard beastman, she approaches Genzō to become his apprentice.

Sadomasochism ( ) is the giving and receiving of pleasure from acts involving the receipt or infliction of pain or humiliation. Practitioners of sadomasochism may seek sexual gratification from their acts. While the terms sadist and masochist refer respectively to one who enjoys giving and receiving pain, practitioners of sadomasochism may switch between activity and passivity. The abbreviation S&M; is often used for Sadomasochism (or Sadism & Masochism), although practitioners themselves normally remove the ampersand and use the initialism S-M or SM or S/M when written throughout the literature.

However, French philosopher Gilles Deleuze argued that the concurrence of sadism and masochism proposed in Freud's model is the result of "careless reasoning," and should not be taken for granted. Freud introduced the terms "primary" and "secondary" masochism. Antoine, thinking that Yvonne is a prostitute, invites her to dinner, but Louis takes Yvonne on a fake suspect chase. Disappointed, Antoine takes the restaurant personnel hostage and burns down the restaurant. Yvonne removes him from the scene and hides him in a disused underground sado-masochist club. Antoine escapes, leaves his wife and handcuffs Yvonne to a bedpost to go rob the jewellery shop that he was supposed to have robbed, thus making him truly guilty and giving a meaning to the imprisonment which destroyed his youth.

The album cover depicts a voluptuous masochist with "Death Grips" carved into her chest on the leash of a smoking female sadist. The image is painted by Sua Yoo, an artist with whom Death Grips had worked in the past and later appeared on the album art for their instrumental album, Fashion Week. It originally appeared in a zine, but the band name carved into the submissive's chest was added afterwards. The non-explicit variant of the album cover includes a white bar with the album name printed across it, censoring the breasts.

The invention of movable type printing contributed to the popularity of the stories about Vlad, making them one of the first "bestsellers" in Europe.

Mark finds Miles, but is captured by Miles' old nemesis, Baron Ryoval, and tortured for five days, His personality fragments into four sub-personalities: Gorge the glutton, Grunt the sex pervert, Howl the masochist, and Killer the assassin. Together, the first three protect Mark's fragile persona, while Killer bides his time. When Ryoval's assistant informs him that Mark seems to have adjusted remarkably quickly and is actually enjoying the torture, a frustrated Ryoval decides to study his victim alone. Killer takes the opportunity to kill Ryoval, enabling Mark to escape.

The emphasis is mainly on parody, key moments including drummer Mike Bordin sweeping Mike Patton's head in the dream sequence with a broom (presumedly a reference to Vertigo's scene where Midge is describing to Scottie that music can clear the cobwebs out of your head like a broom), bassist Billy Gould cross dressing, Leigh's character being a black wigged sado-masochist, and Leigh fainting when she sees a shadowy figure in the tower, which ends up being drummer Mike Bordin, who at the end of the video casually starts eating a bagel.

Her first plays ("The Young Lady", "Man's Will" in 1900 and "Mothers" in 1901 ) have been described as focussing on the oppression women suffer in marriage and she often explored themes of interpersonal relationships and the battle of the sexes. Deadly love and female masochist tendencies have also been mentioned by reviewers. One newspaper review of her play "Tiger Cats" noted the London audience "...consisting mainly of middle-aged, unmarried women cheered wildly these scenes of sadism." She has also been described as a feminist and a writer of science fiction in the near future.

Duffy is frequently lampooned at length on the satirical TV programme The Savage Eye. A funny individual who tends to notice Tōma's bad luck, and has calls him "Kami- yan" in a different way. He is a self-confessed pervert, lolicon, masochist, as well as numerous other fetishes who enjoys being punished by his teacher, Komoe. He is frequently seen with Motoharu. He, Motoharu, and Tōma are known as the "Idiot Trio" in their class as they have the lowest test scores, often requiring to sit for remedial lessons, although he has noted that he fails his tests on purpose to get punished by Komoe.

In March 2018, a low-quality snippet of a song called "Masochist" leaked online, as well as the full-length demo of the song "Fall in Line", which prompted rumours that the tracks were supposed to be on the album. On May 3, 2018, Aguilera released the first single "Accelerate" featuring American singer Ty Dolla Sign and rapper 2 Chainz, as well as its music video, while also confirming the album's title, Liberation, and its art, track listing and announced the album was available for pre-order online.

He has connections with Mitsuru, who treats and monitors him. ; : (Drama CD) :Mitsuru is the White Rose, the Rhode Rose Knight called forth from the white card. At school, he is the handsome and dashing student council president, making him popular among students, but his true nature is that of a masochist and an embarrassment to Anise as he is very devoted and outspoken about his duties. He likes to outwardly display his affection for Anise, making her embarrassed and the subject of envy among her schoolmates that likewise adore him.

She is apparently the one who caused Taro to become a masochist but, despite her androphobia, develops a crush on him, and is also hinted to be jealous as well when another girl is involved with Taro. :She occasionally gets into situations where she briefly forgets her androphobia in her eagerness to get closer to Taro (or is accidentally touched by him), and when she actually realizes what happens, she comically assaults Taro who, due to his masochism, enjoys it. ; : : Hayama is Taro Sado's classmate and close friend. He enjoys cross-dressing (which induces his female alter-ego "Tatsumi Antoinette XVI" to appear).

In fact, Ryoko becomes slightly cautious whenever Washu is looking at her with a mischievous smile and intimidating eyes. Ryoko, when captured and electrocuted by Ayeka in Episode 2, seems to enjoy it until the point when Ayeka uses excruciating force when Ryoko was clearly in pain. Ayeka calls her a masochist, and Ryoko says that she was more of a sadist. Judging by the fact that her ship Ryo-Ohki destroyed twenty-eight planets and sixty- nine colonies when in Kagato's service, and by some of her taunts in the fight with Tenchi, she might not have been joking.

Lt. Hector Martinez considers everyone in Moore's therapy group, including Bill, as suspects in the murder. Bill continues to live in Bob's house and begins an affair with Rose, a beautiful but mysterious young woman who comes and goes. Bill takes the therapy group, which includes; Clark, a temperamental OCD sufferer, Sondra, a nymphomaniac and kleptomaniac, Buck, a suicidal ex-cop, Casey, who paints sado-masochist images, and Richie, a 16-year old with social anxiety and a history of drug use. After Casey is found violently murdered, Bill becomes the target of several attempts on his life.

Knowledge about feminism was gained informally, and it developed a virtual academy where Spanish feminists learned that "the personal is political". Fourth-wave feminism emerged as a movement opposed to sexist violence, to masochist violence and to rape. The movement traces its roots to the murder of Ana Orantes in Granada on 17 December 1997. She had dared to speak to the media about the abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband and was killed because of her speaking out, doing so on Canal Sur 13 days before she was burned to death by her abusive husband in her house.

The Mountain Masochist Trail Run (MMTR50) is a ultramarathon that winds its way through the Blue Ridge Mountains. The course begins at the James River Visitor Center; runners cover a short out-and-back section on the Blue Ridge Parkway before completing a few short miles of road. The course then meanders northward over various dirt and gravel roads in the National Forest before runners have to negotiate the second half of the course. Leaving Long Mountain aid station, the second half includes dirt and old logging roads as well as several miles of single-track trail.

Short Drop cave was explored through to Gavel Pot by a Yorkshire Ramblers' Club party in 1898. The University of Leeds Speleological Society undertook a major survey of the system in 1965, and pushed a lot of inlets and high level passages including Masochist Passage and the Ancient Highway and opening up Rift Entrance, to extend the cave to a length of . The Coal Hole entrance was explored to Short Drop in 1977 by the Cave Projects Group. The main passages in Gavel Pot were first explored in 1970, when the Northern Pennine Club excavated a shaft in the final chamber.

The video marked the first appearance of the Shep Pettibone remix of the song. It had a total budget of $5 million ($ million in dollars), which made it the most expensive music video in history at the time it was made, and currently the third most expensive of all time. "Express Yourself" had its world-premiere on May 17, 1989, on MTV and was an MTV exclusive for three weeks, being aired every hour on the music channel. The concept of the video was to portray Madonna as a glamorous lady and chained masochist, with muscular men acting as her workers.

A pathicus was not a "homosexual" as such. His sexuality was not defined by the gender of the person using him as a receptacle for sex, but rather his desire to be so used. Because in Roman culture a man who penetrates another adult male almost always expresses contempt or revenge, the pathicus might be seen as more akin to the sexual masochist in his experience of pleasure. Later, Slothrop meets and has a brief sexual affair with Margherita Erdmann, a former pornographic film actress and masochist. "In The Zone" also contains the longest episode of the book, a lengthy tale of Franz Pökler, a rocket engineer unwittingly set to assist on the S-Gerät's production. The story details Pökler's manipulation by an SS officer named Weissmann (earlier revealed by Enzian to be Blicero), who uses annual meetings with Pökler's daughter Ilse to coerce him into working on the S-Gerät.

Taro is known to have a ridiculous amount of "Pervert Energy" (over 30,000 units, compared to 5 units for average people) which was employed by Noa in one of her schemes. Despite the fact that he is a self-proclaimed "Super Masochist", Taro will not hesitate to help out his friends, such as rushing Mio to a hospital when she collapsed during their mock-wedding on their date, trying to beat up the senior who attempted to sexually assault Arashiko way back despite being outmatched, acknowledging Tatsukichi's cross-dressing, and telling him that he does not mind his interests. His first kiss was with Mio. ; : : Mio Isurugi is Taro Sado's senior.

These include Toki-senpai, a former drama club member now in college, who wants Ito to be more feminine; Tsugumi-senpai, a year ahead of Ito, who is obsessed with Ito's boyish side, going so far as to call her "Ito-kun," using a primarily male suffix (see Japanese honorifics); and Sakamoto, a "masochist" who likes both Ito and Makoto. In volume 10, Ito meets Jotaro again and he confesses that he teased her because he liked her. Ito rejects him, as she had once liked him, telling him that she is already in love with someone else. : In volume 13 they audition for a troupe of actors.

Taken to its extreme, an intolerably indefinite delay is 'rewarded' by punitive perpetual delay, manifested as unwavering coldness. The masochist derives pleasure from, as Deleuze puts it, the "Contract": the process by which he can control another individual and turn the individual into someone cold and callous. The sadist, in contrast, derives pleasure from the "Law": the unavoidable power that places one person below another. The sadist attempts to destroy the ego in an effort to unify the id and super-ego, in effect gratifying the most base desires the sadist can express while ignoring or completely suppressing the will of the ego, or of the conscience.

In a time of professional crisis, Fassbinder made Satan's Brew (Satansbraten, 1976) a bleak amoral comedy that pays homage to Antonin Artaud's theatre of cruelty. Stylistically far from the melodramas that made him known internationally, Satan's Brew gave way to a new phase in his career. In Satan's Brew, a neurotic poet suffering from writer's block struggles to make ends meet while dealing with a frustrated long suffering wife, a half witted brother and various prostitutes and masochist women who drift in and out of his life. He convinces himself to be the reincarnation of the gay romantic poet Stefan George (1868–1933) after he plagiarizes his poem The Albatros.

She is a party animal who enjoys cooking and sunbathing nude. There is evidence that she sees Rocko as more than a neighbor and wants to have an affair with him—she has tried to seduce Rocko on more than one occasion, resulting in Rocko seeing her naked numerous times. She also is a possible masochist— she sleeps on sharp objects and has been impaled in the back with a lawn dart by Rocko, but was unaffected by it. At one point, she took over Ed's job at Conglom-O for a week when Ed took a leave of absence due to a nervous breakdown and ran the company very well.

The main entrance into Short Cave is at the end of a shallow valley where a small hole drops into a stream passage. Upstream leads to a canal passage which becomes too tight, although an excavated squeeze on the right before the end leads to the Coal Hole entrance. Downstream, of mainly low passage leads to an oxbow with a larger passage arriving from Rift Entrance. A long awkward inlet passage called Masochist Passage can be followed to the north-east for some almost up to the Rumbling Hole stream sinks, and an old high level route named Ancient Highway loops back to the main route.

The play was first produced in a theater set up in an old YMCA gymnasium on 53rd Street and Eighth Avenue called the Playwrights Horizons. Live theater moved him to believing that writing for the stage was what he wanted to do. Although the play was given a somewhat favorable review by The New York Times, it was closed by the producer and Kramer was so distraught that he decided never to write for the stage again, later stating, "You must be a masochist to work in the theater and a sadist to succeed on its stages." Kramer then wrote A Minor Dark Age, which was never produced.

Dwight McCarthy is on a mission from Gail to dig up information about a recent mob hit at a small diner. After being hit on by a female cop, (who he manages to get rid of by pretending to be a bisexual masochist), he goes into a bar near where the hit happened and tries to charm one of the local drinkers there named Peggy. Dwight also spots Fat Man and Little Boy, which makes his job easier later on. As Dwight keeps charming Peggy, she realizes he's not interested in any company that night and only looking for information behind the recent hit.

She believes Harris has come back from his death to kill those around her. Ralph, a troubled masochist patient with tendency for violent outbursts, becomes enamored with Cynthia; founding himself on the edge after the deaths of his fellow members in the group, knocks down a policeman who was watching him, and goes to talk to Cynthia, who was spending the night with Dr. Karmen in order to feel safe. When he is distracted, Ralph and Cynthia take an elevator to the basement of the hospital. There, during an apparent episode of psicosis and violence, he commits suicide by stabbing himself multiple times in the abdomen.

Malcolm Cowley of The New Republic called Spillane "a dangerous paranoid, sadist, and masochist" and even his own editors sometimes found his novels distasteful. Spillane for his part was unmoved by critics, saying "You can sell a lot more peanuts than caviar" and "The literary world is made of second rate writers writing about other second rate writers". Attractively low prices (25 cents for a paperback copy, later raised to 50 cents) helped sales, and the 1956 informative guide Sixty Years of Best Sellers found that the six novels Spillane had written up to that point were among the top ten best selling American fiction titles of all time. The Signet paperbacks displayed dramatic front cover illustrations.

29–39 During both instances, he renounced his affiliation with Judaism, only to have his faith restored by events occurring at the end of an episode. After watching The Passion of the Christ, a shameful Kyle suddenly felt that Cartman's anti-Semitism was justified, and suggested to angry members of his synagogue that the Jews apologize for the death of Jesus. Kyle's guilt is quickly alleviated when he encounters Mel Gibson, the film's director, and perceives him to be nothing more than a deranged masochist. Kyle has a first cousin also named Kyle, whom he resents for being the embodiment of Jewish stereotypes and causing Kyle to question whether or not he was a self-hating Jew.

Hostile-dependent relationships are characterized by either one sided, or a mutual atmosphere of hostility and aggression between the partners, which are endured due to the dependence of the partners involved (Aldrich, 1966). Since the members of the relationship are dependent on one another, these characteristics can express themselves in complementary ways. For example, between spouses where one is a sadist and the other a masochist, however many other forms are possible, for example, as abusive spousal relationships or in parental relationships with their dependent children (both young, teen and adult children) and in other circumstances of dependency. Many members of hostile-dependent relationships remain together, despite the conflict between one another.

The CMJ New Music Report noted that "this noisy album is almost painful to listen to, but it's compelling enough to turn you into a happy masochist." Terrorizer magazine ranked the album as the 15th best release of the year, while Metal Hammer also included it in a retrospective top ten list for 1999 published in 2017. Calculating Infinity has since been lauded as a landmark release for the band and the genre. Rolling Stone ranked it the 56th greatest metal album of all-time in a 2017 feature, praising the release for featuring "an underlying logic, [and] a sense of structure that lifted songs ... to a realm above the noise and fury of everyday hardcore".

A dominant, on the other hand, may enjoy the feeling of power and authority that comes from playing the dominant role, and a sadist may receive pleasure vicariously through the suffering of the masochist. It is poorly understood, though, what ultimately connects these emotional experiences to sexual gratification, or how that connection initially forms. A sadist, on the other hand, may enjoy the feeling of power and authority that comes from playing the dominant role, or receive pleasure vicariously through the suffering of the masochist. Sina-Aline Geißler (born 1965) is a German writer and journalist. In an autobiography published in 1990, when she was just 24, she literary came out as a member of the BDSM scene as a self-admitted masochist.Der Spiegel: Sexualität - Ein bißchen Schmerz A great media coverage followed including a major cover story in German Stern magazine under the title "Ich bin Masochistin - Sina Geißler, 24, bricht ein Tabu" (meaning I am a masochist: Sina Geißler, 24, breaking a taboo). After the publication, Stern became a target of some vocal feminist movement leaders and some protesters occupied the magazine's offices in protest blaming the magazine for glorification of violence considering its coverage as an invitation to insult and rape women and girls.

In contrast, Nageshwara Rao at one point did not rate the film so highly because he felt it did not "convey the Sarat mood well enough." C. S. H. N. Murthy, author of the 2012 Routledge article Film remakes as cross-cultural connections between North and South, praised Devadasu for "follow[ing] closely the text of the novel as a hypotext". Murthy was the first author to interpret the Devadas phenomenon in terms of de-westernising media studies by appropriately locating the character of Devdas into the relevant and contemporary religious ethos of India that time. Murthy was not only critical of the Western Scholars' interpretations of Devadas as a narcissist and pseudo-masochist but also questioned their theoretical frameworks based on Western Sexualities and Post-feminism.

Although there may be no connection between coprophilia and sadomasochism (SM), the limited data on the former comes from studies of the latter. A study of 164 males in Finland from two SM clubs found that 18.2% had engaged in coprophilia; 3% as a sadist, 6.1% as a masochist, and 9.1% as both. In the study pool 18% of heterosexuals and 17% of homosexuals had tried coprophilia, showing no statistically significant difference between heterosexuals and homosexuals. In a separate article analyzing 12 men who engaged in bestiality, an additional analysis of an 11-man subgroup revealed that six had engaged in coprophilic behavior, compared with only one in the matched control group consisting of 12 SM- oriented males who did not engage in bestiality.

The film tells the story of three young friends whose passion in life is surfing. The friends include: Matt Johnson (Jan-Michael Vincent), a self-destructive type who has a devil-may-care attitude; Jack Barlow (William Katt), the calm and responsible one of the bunch; and Leroy "The Masochist" Smith (Gary Busey), whose nickname tells a lot about his personality. Their surfing lives are traced from the summer of 1962 to their attempts of dodging the Vietnam War draft in 1965 (including faking insanity, homosexuality, and all manner of medical ailments), and to the end of their innocence in 1968 when one of their friends is killed in Vietnam. The three make the difficult transition to adulthood with parties, surf trips, marriage, and the war.

Through a flashback, it transpires that the root cause of Shirotani's mysophobia is a childhood trauma of witnessing his father having sex: the self-loathing he experienced after becoming aroused by the sight of his father, combined with the shame of being caught masturbating to the incident, prompted him to associate physical contact and intimacy with feelings of disgust. As Kurose and Shirotani's relationship intensifies, Kurose notes that Shirotani is simultaneously repulsed and sexually aroused by his advances. Kurose reveals that he is a sadist who derives pleasure from triggering Shirotani's mysophobia, and has intuited that Shirotani is a masochist who derives pleasure from the very acts that disgust him. Shirotani rejects Kurose, and they do not speak for many months.

Rachnera enjoys annoying most of the household and hones her web-making skills by setting traps for everyone which typically result in them being unwillingly tied up in bondage positions (except Lilith [see below], who turns out to be a masochist). The only one she can't ensnare is Suu - the webs simply pass through her - who usually responds with launching sexual counter- assaults on Rachnee, much to the amusement of the other home-stays. However, Rachera's skills as a trapper also make her an expert fisherwoman, and her thread-spinning skills are not only useful in making her own clothes from her own silk but also prove invaluable in taking down a giant-sized slime liminal trying to absorb Kimihito. Coffee affects Rachnera like alcohol since Arachnes, like regular spiders, become intoxicated from caffeine.

She also interviewed the detective who caught Britain's youngest serial killer, Peter Dinsdale, and found unique details about the case. In Couples Who Kill: Profiles of Deviant Duos, she met one of the surviving victims of Fred and Rosemary West, as well as corresponding with a convicted British serial killer and with a journalist who had spent time with one of America's cruellest torture-killers, now on death row. Sadistic Killers: Profiles of Pathological Predators, included input from a psychiatrist who successfully treated imprisoned psychopaths by helping them come to terms with their brutalizing childhoods. Becoming aware that sexually dominant men in consensual relationships were often dismissed by society in the same way as criminal sadists, she included a chapter on consensual sadomasochism for which she interviewed a female masochist.

"Chantaje" was written by Shakira, Maluma, Joel Antonio López Castro, Kevin Mauricio Jiménez Londoño and Bryan Snaider Lezcano Chaverra. It was also produced by Shakira and Maluma with Chan "El Genio" (Rude Boyz) and Kevin Jiménez ADG. "Chantaje" is a pop and reggaeton song, with tropical synths in its background. The song is built from a "pitched-up vocal" saying "Hola, mira" ("Hello, look"). Lyrically, the song is a chase "between a lustful man and an unattainable woman," where "he’s not sure where he stands with her, and she's not exactly clearing things up." "Yo soy masoquista" ("I'm a masochist"), he says, and she responds, "Con mi cuerpo, un egoísta" ("With my body, an egoistic"), adding: [...] "En esta relación, soy yo la que manda" ("In this relationship, I’m in command").

For the first, Lewis says Sadists and Masochists are no different, they just isolate and exaggerate an aspect of normal pleasure. The sadists exaggerates the moment of union by saying “I am so much master that I even torment you” and the masochist exaggerates the complementary side by saying “I am so enthralled that I welcome even pain at your hands.” If these people recognized pain for what it was, their habits would cease to provide a pleasurable stimulus. To underline his point he says probably the most famous line from this book, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pain: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.” He says that a recognition of this truth underlies the universal feeling that bad men out to suffer – a sense of retribution.

The second incarnation of Bad Company, now led by Danny Franks & consisting of the last Protoid (an alien shapeshifter) in existence, Sheeva a "Boom Baby", (genetically enhanced, and with the ability "...to make atoms dance...",) De Racine, one of the "Earth Elite" and a masochist called Rackman, track down a monster terrorizing the Ghetto Planets whilst looking for Kano, unaware that the two are one and the same. After finding and recruiting Kano, they use Protoids chameleon ship to head to the Krool Homeworld undetected in order to destroy the Krool once and for all. Sheeva, Rackman, De Racine and Protoid are killed, but the alien is revealed to have been a puppet of the true Protoid – the chameleon ship – who is trying to merge and replace the new Krool Heart. Instead, Danny takes the place of the Krool Heart, and Protoid is defeated.

When Brad and his wife Lisa plan a romantic weekend getaway, Lisa is ecstatic and looks forward to sharing the delightful news with her husband that she’s pregnant. However, the prospect of their vacation is dashed almost instantly as they’re involved in a curious altercation of road rage and Brad is subsequently arrested for reckless driving by the local county sheriff. Not long after, alone and defenseless Lisa is kidnapped by a band of sadists who plan to torture her as graphically as possible and record the entire gruesome act on film for profit. At the small cabin in the woods where they keep her captive, she meets her co-star for the snuff film: a masochist well-versed in acts of perversion and especially eager to torture Lisa. Desperate to save her life and her unborn child’s life, Lisa makes a deal with her captors to offer another innocent person’s life in place of her own, abandoning all morals in order to survive.

A film version of the musical was made in 1986. Directed by Frank Oz and noted as the only film written by Howard Ashman, it starred Rick Moranis as Seymour, Ellen Greene as Audrey, Vincent Gardenia as Mr. Mushnik, Steve Martin as Orin Scrivello, DDS, and the voice of Levi Stubbs as Audrey II. Bill Murray played the small comic role of the masochist, Arthur Denton. The 1986 film follows the plot of the musical closely but omits the songs "Ya Never Know" (rewritten as "Some Fun Now," a trio for Crystal, Ronette and Chiffon), "Mushnik and Son", "Now (It's Just the Gas)", "Sudden Changes," "Closed for Renovation" and "Call Back in the Morning"; the final cut ending also omits "Finale Ultimo (Don't Feed The Plants)". Other changes include the removal of Mr. Mushnik's adoption proposition and a new ending, in which Seymour is able to save Audrey from Audrey II and then electrocutes the plant after it has destroyed the shop.
