Lieber so (Better This Way) is the sixth studio album by German recording artist Yvonne Catterfeld, released by Columbia Records and Sony Music on 22 November 2013 in German-speaking Europe. While production of the album was overseen by Roland Spremberg, several musicians contributed to Lieber so, including producers Marcus Brosch and Christian "Crada" Kalla as well as rappers Kitty Kat and Sera Finale, Jennifer Rostock keyboarder Joe Walter, and Swiss pop singer Mia Aegerter. After having finished the group Just Music after a last tour in Poland in 1972 but keeping in regular touch with the Belgian free improvisation scene Harth and Van den Plas moved to live in Frankfurt/Main together with Cremer in Harth's apartment where musicians and artists regularly visited and where the idea came up to found a small music circus. In 1968 Harth had performed with drummer Sven-Åke Johansson (Music is Happening) at the Zodiak Free Arts Lab in Berlin where they had sawed the stage as part of their music. Harth called up Johansson in 1972 and founded the trio E.M.T. with him and keyboarder Nicole Van den Plas who started to study art at the Städel art academy in Frankfurt/Main at that time. E.M.T. recorded for the label SAJ which had been founded by Sven-Åke Johansson and merged with the label FMP.
In 2010, it was re-issued, and has become very popular in Japan. In the mid-eighties he founded the “John Marshall Band”, also known as “JMB”, which appeared at the North Sea Jazz Festival, and was continued, with various line-ups, as the “John C. Marshall Band”. From 1993 to 1995, he was a featured soloist in the RTL Big Band, for which he also wrote arrangements, and with which he recorded the album “R&B; Party”. In this period, too, he worked in the Dutch Acid-Jazz band “Advanced Warning”, together with the keyboarder Herbert Noord, the sax player Rinus Groeneveld, and the Focus drummer Pierre van der Linden.
