A Passenger Name Record (PNR) is a record in the database of a computer reservation system (CRS) that contains the itinerary for a passenger, or a group of passengers travelling together. The concept of a PNR was first introduced by airlines that needed to exchange reservation information in case passengers required flights of multiple airlines to reach their destination (“interlining”). In August Transwede started an interlining cooperation with Finnair, whereby the two coordinated their timetables and fed passengers into each other's networks. Transwede Fokker 100 at London Gatwick Airport in 1996 The first scheduled route to be terminated took place in October 1992, with the closing of the Visby route. The other main newcomer on the market, Malmö Aviation, gave up its routes from Malmö to London in early 1993, and Transwede took over the concession from April 1993. It followed up on 9 May with commencing a scheduled service from Halmstad Airport to Stockholm, with three daily round trips.

During structural repairs to the tunnel roof between Bay and St. George stations, trains were bypassed to Museum station via the interlining tracks on Saturdays and Sundays from February 24 to March 11, 2007. As a result, riders could see Lower Bay through the train windows as they rode between Bloor–Yonge and Museum stations. During the May 2010 Victoria Day long weekend, the station was again used to facilitate track repairs, and once again the public got a rare opportunity to ride through the station.

Previously, only large network carriers such as United Airlines and Lufthansa would have electronic ticket interline agreements, but the IATA mandate to eliminate paper tickets at the end of 2007 has changed this by forcing smaller carriers to implement electronic ticketing. Peutz–Jeghers syndrome is an autosomal dominant syndrome that presents with hamartomatous polyps, which are disorganized growth of tissues of the intestinal tract, and hyperpigmentation of the interlining of the mouth, lips and fingers. The syndrome was first noted in 1896 by Hutchinson, and later separately described by Peutz, and then again in 1940 by Jeghers. The syndrome is associated with malfunction of serine- threonine kinase 11 or STK 11 gene, and has a 2% to 10% increase in risk of developing cancer of the intestinal tract. The syndrome also causes increased risk of extraintestinal cancer such as that involving breast, ovary, cervix, fallopian tubes, thyroid, lung, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, and testicles.

The South Central Extension will run from Downtown Phoenix, south along Central Avenue to Baseline Road, adding and seven stations, while connecting with two park and ride locations. Additionally, this project will form a light rail hub in Downtown Phoenix, between Central and First avenues to the west and east, and Washington and Jefferson streets to the north and south. Also included are new tracks for turn-around / staging purposes at both Third Avenue and Fifth Street for enhanced flexibility during peak service. Trains along the segment are planned to operate as a new line, originating at Baseline Road and running to the Downtown Hub before interlining with the existing light rail system and continuing north to the terminus at Dunlap Avenue/19th Avenue.

Proposals for a second downtown light rail alignment date back to DART's 1983 Service Plan to accommodate the interlining of multiple future corridors in the DART Service Area. This plan laid the groundwork for a goal of three potential corridors with a goal that the initial development focus on an east to west subway rather than an at-grade transit-way mall if funding allowed. However, after a failed bond vote in June 1988, DART's System Plan was modified through the 1989 DART New Directions Transit System Plan leading to the development of an, at-grade, surface transit-way along Pacific Avenue and Bryan Avenues, which is currently utilized. Planning by DART specifically for the D2 Subway alignment were officially initiated in 2007.

Lower Bay signage from 1966, when the TTC was about to open the Bloor Danforth subway line Below the main platform for Bay station is an abandoned platform, which was used for only six months in 1966 when the TTC experimentally ran trains whose routes included portions of both the Yonge–University and Bloor–Danforth lines. This abandoned platform is sometimes referred to as "Lower Bay" by the general public or "Bay Lower" by the TTC. The platform was in service from February to September 1966 as part of an interlining experiment, in which the TTC ran trains along three routes, with one matching the subsequent Bloor–Danforth line, and the other two combining parts of the Bloor–Danforth line with the Yonge–University line. The experiment was deemed a failure, largely because delays anywhere quickly cascaded to affect the entire system.

As part of the partnership, the schedules of Seaborne's new services from San Juan to both Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France in the French Caribbean (announced on March 25, 2013 before launch on June 1, 2013, following a two month delay in the start of service) were subsequently timed accordingly in the interest of convenient connections with American's San Juan flights. Also, as the stations had not been laid out effectively for cross-platform interchange, trains travelling east from and west from Yonge alternated between the two levels, leading passengers to wait on the stairs in-between the levels, since they were unable to tell which platform would receive the next train. With every station served by at least two routes (Bloor–Yonge station was served by all three routes, with the Yonge–University–Danforth route passing through it twice, once on each level), passengers could travel between any two stations without changing trains; though for some station combinations, such as travel between a station north of Bloor and one on the Bloor–Danforth route, transferring at Bloor–Yonge station resulted in a more direct path. The TTC found that when the extra time waiting for a train from the correct route was considered, the time savings were not significant.
