An English version, titled "Stand Up", was recorded for the soundtrack of Land of Plenty.

Recruiting a new generation of photographers such as, most notably, Arno Fischer, Günter Rössler and Roger Melis, she worked to define a new concept in fashion, based around the theme of a modern, self-assured, educated working woman, integrated into contemporary culture. Sources credit her with having introduced the mini- skirt to the German Democratic Republic in 1967. Despite her iconic status the head of fashion at Easy Germany's fashion magazine was still subject to some of the usual constraints. When she turned up to work wearing an elegant pair of jeans, the editor in chief asked her firmly not to wear "these American pants ... for work" ("... bitte nicht im Betrieb, mit diesen amerikanischen Hosen").
Hosen also played rugby 54 times for Cornwall, as well as also appearing 64 times for Cornwall in the Minor Counties cricket competition. The band has been very popular in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, while also enjoying some success in other Northern European countries. Unlike fellow early 1980s German punk band Die Toten Hosen (whose career has often been compared to Die Ärzte, often trying to promote a rivalry), Die Ärzte are largely unknown outside of these countries, aside from descendants of German nationals abroad as well as many students. The band considered releasing an album in English in the mid-1990s, but they dropped the idea. In 2002 they did a short tour in Japan and released a compilation of their last albums there, and in 2004 they did a short tour in South America.
Over the course of the band's history, Die Toten Hosen have expressed their loyalty to their home town in various ways. In summer 1995, the band staged an ice hockey game called Powerplay des Wahnsinns (Power-play of insanity), playing in a team alongside professional players from Düsseldorfer EG against a team composed of Finnish rock band Leningrad Cowboys and Finnish national ice hockey players. The match took place in the stadium at the Brehmstrasse in Düsseldorf. Their team Knochenbrecher Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf Bonebreakers) lost 9:10. In 1996 they slipped into women's clothing, silk stockings and high heels and took part in the Düsseldorf Mardi Gras parade with their own float under the slogan "We bury good taste".
It's a drinking song, and the fact that drinking songs are a tradition for Die Toten Hosen is ironized on the album version as an interview in the beginning and end of the song. The song's title and theme are a parody of "Zehn kleine Negerlein" (Ten little negroes, the English version of this song is called "Ten Little Indians"), which is a song about how out of ten characters only one was left in the end. The chorus also makes use of the German translation of the Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno, "Einer für alle, alle für einen", as well as alluding to the board game Mensch ärgere dich nicht.

In 2002, Vuckovic and McCormack reconciled their differences and reformed the band with original drummer Keith Baxter. Ben Harding had by this time forged a career in public relations and was replaced by Paul Grant (ex-Pornstar). The new line-up signed to Mighty Atom Records and Sanctuary Management and recorded The Union of Souls album with producer Joe Gibb (Funeral for a Friend/ Million Dead) in 2004, to critical acclaim but little commercial success. "Repeat To Fade" and "The World is Yours", taken from the album, were released as singles and the band toured Europe and Japan with German bands Die Toten Hosen and The Donots as well as a handful of UK tours and festival slots including the first Download festival.

A 1965 film by Andy Warhol entitled Vinyl was an adaptation of Burgess's novel. The best known adaptation of the novella to other forms is the 1971 film A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick, featuring Malcolm McDowell as Alex. In 1987, Burgess published a stage play titled A Clockwork Orange: A Play with Music. The play includes songs, written by Burgess, which are inspired by Beethoven and Nadsat slang. In 1988, a German adaptation of A Clockwork Orange at the intimate theatre of Bad Godesberg featured a musical score by the German punk rock band Die Toten Hosen which, combined with orchestral clips of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and "other dirty melodies" (so stated by the subtitle), was released on the album Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau.
Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau ("A little bit of horrorshow") (subtitled: Die Lieder aus Clockwork Orange und andere schmutzige Melodien ["The songs from Clockwork Orange and other dirty melodies"]) is the sixth LP by Die Toten Hosen, released in 1988. This is considered by the band as the best DTH album as of 1988. The LP is mainly a concept album based on the film A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick, which in turn is based on the book of the same name by Anthony Burgess, although not all of the songs are about the main theme. The idea of the LP has its origin during a performance of A Clockwork Orange at Theater Bonn where the band acted as supernumeraries and as supporting band.

Initially, the party was called Democrats-Shinui, but was soon changed to the Democratic Movement for Change, and, as with many parties in Israel, became popularly known by its acronym, Dash. The new party caught the public's imagination, with over 37,000 people signing up as members within a few weeks of its foundation. It also pioneered the use of primaries to choose its electoral list, something that was intended to show its democratic credentials and prevent cronyism. Previously, in Israel, party lists had been decided upon by the parties' committees, but since the late 1970s, almost every party in Israel (with the exception of the Ultra-orthodox ones, Shas and United Torah Judaism, and many of the Centrist parties; Yesh Atid, Hosen, Telem, and Kulanu) has followed Dash's lead and adopted the primaries system.

On a Thursday night in November, the Club played against an International XV raised by International Referee Mike Titcomb to officially open the lights. It would be no exaggeration to say that the team he brought down to Marlow that night consisted of probably the greatest collection of International talent that was around in Britain at that time: John Dawes, JPR Williams, Geoff Evans, John Taylor, (members of the victorious 1971 British Lions team in New Zealand), Mike Burton, Roger Hosen, Bill Gittings were just some of the glittering array of talented players on display that night. The final score didn't matter (26pts - 8pts to the visitors by the way). What did matter was that players of this calibre were prepared to give up an evening, and for many of them a long night and early morning, to come and help a Club such as Marlow celebrate the addition of facilities that would help to advance the cause of Rugby A year later was the formation of a team that was to extend rugby players careers (and their waist lines) even further - a Vets team - The Stragglers was started at Marlow.
