The fcc and hcp packings are the densest known packings of equal spheres with the highest symmetry (smallest repeat units). Denser sphere packings are known, but they involve unequal sphere packing. A packing density of 1, filling space completely, requires non-spherical shapes, such as honeycombs. Alfredo Andreini (27 July 1870, in Florence – 11 December 1943, in Lippiano) was an Italian physician and entomologist. He carried out a large collection of insects collected in particular from Cape Verde (1908) and in Libya (1913) and Eritrea. He collaborated with the zoological museum La Specola. In geometry, he enumerated and published a list of 25 convex uniform honeycombs in 1905 (the space-filling tessellations of regular and semiregular polyhedra).

Treatment with the antibiotic Fumidil B (prepared from Aspergillus fumigatus, the causative agent of stonebrood), inhibits the spores reproducing in the ventriculus, but does not kill the spores. The group was founded in November 1963 as an amateur band founded by Martin Murray. Its members were Murray (a hairdresser), his salon assistant Honey Lantree, her brother John, and two friends. Originally they called themselves the Sheratons.See the Honeycombs fan site; other sources, such as May & Phillips, call them The Sherabons. The group played dates in the West End of London, and at the Mildmay Tavern,The pub, once located at 130 Balls Pond Road, Islington, was closed in 2000.
The islands are underlaid by folded sandstone and sedimentary rock, are part of the Crocker Range rock formation of the western coast of Sabah. Towards the end of Ice Age happened about one million years ago, changes of the sea level occurred, resulting in portions of the mainland being cut off by the sea, thus forming the islands today. They were compèred by the then unknown duo of Syd Little and Eddie Large. They recorded a single, "The House On the Hill" / "Most Unlovely", for the Parlophone label in 1966.

Cadaghi has become naturalised beyond its native range in south-eastern and central Queensland. It is regarded as a weed in south-eastern Queensland where it grows as a weed on roadsides, waterways, disturbed sites and waste areas. Its dense canopy often inhibits the growth of understorey species, affecting the composition of native forests in subtropical areas. The sticky resin from the fruiting capsules of this species is collected by the native stingless bee Tetragonula carbonaria, clogging the honeycombs and sometimes sealing the hive entrance and killing the bees inside.

Rural beekeeping in the 16th century Early forms of honey collecting entailed the destruction of the entire colony when the honey was harvested. The wild hive was crudely broken into, using smoke to suppress the bees, the honeycombs were torn out and smashed up — along with the eggs, larvae and honey they contained. Various tribes in the hilly areas of Manipur and Nagaland used wooden logs or earthen wares for beekeeping. The development aimed to provide affordable housing for individuals working in a nearby factory and French homes. In 1952, Georges Candilis, Shadrach Woods, and Alexis Josic—the architects Écochard assigned to the project—designed a series of utopian modernist modular complexes for the site that additional educational, administrative, and religious facilities. Influenced by Le Corbusier's Unité d'habitation and the communal nature of slum life, the resulting mid-rise complexes featured highly collective multilevel living exemplified by myriad balconies. The site's buildings became known by the residents as Semiramis and Nid D'Abeille as references to their visual similarities to honeycombs and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon respectively.

The success of Leyton's recordings was instrumental in establishing Stigwood and Meek as two of Britain's first independent record producers. When his landlords, who lived downstairs, felt that the noise was too much, they would indicate so with a broom on the ceiling.
The first live performance of the Ray Davies Quartet, the band that would become the Kinks, was at a dance for their school, William Grimshaw, in 1962. The band performed under several names between 1962 and 1963—the Pete Quaife Band, the Bo-Weevils, the Ramrods, and the Ravens—before settling on the Kinks in early 1964. Ray has stated that a performance at Hornsey Town Hall on Valentine's Day 1963 was when the band were truly born. The Kinks made their first tour of Australia and New Zealand in January 1965 as part of a "package" bill that included Manfred Mann and the Honeycombs.

Songwriter Mitch Murray wrote several number one singles including two 1963 songs for Gerry and the Pacemakers — "How Do You Do It?" (which was initially given to the Beatles) and "I Like It". Another songwriter, Ken Howard co-wrote "Have I the Right?" for The Honeycombs and "The Legend of Xanadu" for Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich, both number one singles. Worthing was home in the late 1960s to the Worthing Workshop, a group of artists and musicians who included Leo Sayer, Brian James of The Damned, Billy Idol and Steamhammer, whose guitarist, Martin Quittenton, went on to co-write Rod Stewart's UK number one hits "You Wear It Well" and "Maggie May".

Terminalia was an ancient Roman festival in honour of the god Terminus, who presided over boundaries. His statue was merely a stone or post stuck in the ground to distinguish between properties. In 1838 he devised the first practical movable- comb beehive, which allowed manipulation of individual honeycombs without destroying the structure of the hive. The correct distance between combs had been described as 1½ inches from the center of one top bar to the center of the next one. In 1848 Dzierzon introduced grooves into the hive's side walls, replacing the strips of wood for moving top bars. The grooves were 8 × 8 mm—the exact average between ¼ and ⅜ inch, which is the range called the "bee space." His design quickly gained popularity in Europe and North America.
The Four Seasons then left Vee-Jay for Philips Records, and EMI's Capitol Records picked up the U.S. rights for both the Beatles and Frank Ifield. Other Vee-Jay subsidiary labels included Interphon (which yielded the Top 5 hit "Have I the Right?" by another British group, the Honeycombs), and Oldies 45 for reissues along with Tollie and Abner Records, which was an early subsidiary label formed in 1958. Vee-Jay also did distribution for Champion Records (notable for producing the original version of Tainted Love) as well as Rick Hall's Fame Records and, for a time, the Memphis label Goldwax Records and Johnny Vincent's Ace Records. Vee-Jay moved back to Chicago in 1965 after a year in Los Angeles.
