Members of the club is said to have introduced hash running in 1938. Legend has it that some members of the Selangor Club decided that it would be a good idea to run to work after heavy drinking the night before so they could rid themselves of their hangovers, which apparently they did. As the club was once also called Hash House (so named because some of its members thought its food unpalatable) the members therefore named themselves Hash House Harriers. John T. Hash House, also known as Monahan House, is a house built in Dayton, Oregon in c. 1912. The property, which also includes a barn as another contributing building, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. The house was deemed significant as "one of the few Craftsman style buildings found in Dayton." As of 1984 the house was in good condition and had undergone only minor alterations from its original form.

In early 2011, hotel management decided to begin investing in certain worn areas of the hotel property to refurbish them. Starting in late 2010, executive management decided to return to the use of "wall-wash" exterior lighting to bathe the hotel towers in bright purple, the official color of the Harrah's brand. The total membership in 2011 was almost 28,000 members. Most of the scenarios presented in the season were filmed in New Jersey. The "Date Rape Drug" scenario from the premiere episode was filmed at the Mcloone's Pier House in Long Branch, the "Shopping While Black" scenario was filmed in Manhattan, and the "Latino Bashing" scenario was filmed in front of the Mmm Bellos Pub in Newark. Additionally, the "Polygamy" scenario from the penultimate episode was filmed in front of a Hash House a go go restaurant in Colorado City, Arizona, and the "Authority Figure" scenario from the season finale was filmed inside a farmers' market in Columbus, New Jersey.

There are also numerous weddings, festivals, and concerts that take place in the park every year. On Martin Luther King Day, the park serves as the ceremonial starting place of a march that goes all the way to the Martin Luther King Jr. Monument on South Claiborne Avenue. On this holiday in 2012, a ceremony was held in Congo Square in which New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu gave an inspirational speech calling for the city to reduce violence in the streets. Only two are available in cans (Anchor Red Crown and Anchor Lite), only some in 330 ml bottles but all in 600 or 550 ml "big" bottles.

A cook and a waiter at a restaurant are both attracted to the pretty cashier. She sees an ad for a waiters’ ball coming up that night. Attendees must wear evening clothes; the waiter is distressed because he doesn’t have any. The waiter tries to sweep litter from the restaurant into the kitchen at the same time as the cook tries to sweep it out; they fight, hitting each other rhythmically with brooms. The waiter calls out customers’ orders to the kitchen using hash house lingo – e.g., two eggs on toast is “Adam and Eve on a raft.” Meanwhile, the cook prepares the orders with much juggling and many sight gags. For example, the cook gets a fish out of a cooler, but it’s still alive, and it leaps wildly; eventually, everyone in the restaurant becomes involved in subduing it.
