Western States Sports (also known as the Amarillo Territory) was a professional wrestling promotion headquartered in Amarillo, Texas in the United States. Duncan McArthur Funk was born on June 1, 1832 in Funks Grove, Illinois to Cassandra (Sharp) and Isaac Funk. He attended public schools and assisted with managing the family lands. When Funk was twenty-five, he left the farm to open a store in Bloomington, Illinois as Temple & Funk. He co- owned the store until 1866, when he returned to tend to the family farm following the death of his father.

After Sarpolis died in 1967, Funk purchased his shares from his widow, giving him full ownership of Western States Sports. Dory Funk died in 1973, leaving the Funk brothers as owners of the territory. Funks Grove Nature area in Illinois Illinois's Grand Prairie is spotted with groves, small patches of land where local terrain conditions discouraged prairie fires and allowed trees to reach maturity. One of these spots is the lower drainage of Timber Creek, a prairie rivulet that forms a tributary of Sugar Creek. All of these creeks eventually form part of the Sangamon River drainage of the Illinois River. Following his successful run in Florida, Sprott again moved around the wrestling territories of the time. Throughout the remainder of 1969 and 1970 he returned to Hawaii as Ricky Hunter, and fought through Shire's San Francisco territory as The Gladiator. A Fifth of Funk is the fifth and final installment of the George Clinton Family Series collection by Parliament-Funkadelic collective members. The album was released in Japan in 1993 by P-Vine Records, and later in the same year by AEM Records in the United States and Sequel Records in the United Kingdom. The compilation's producer and P-Funk leader George Clinton gives his final thoughts about the tracks on the album, as well as his feelings on the entire Family Series project, for A Fifth of Funks final track. The title is a play on words of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, as well as Walter Murphy's 1976 disco hit "A Fifth of Beethoven".

Compared to Thesz, Kiniski was a heel and was very comfortable in his role as a "bad guy" world champion. As world champion, Kiniski wrestled many well-known luminaries. These included Bobo Brazil, Dick the Bruiser, Johnny Valentine, Bill Watts, Édouard Carpentier, Pat O'Connor, and the Funks, Terry and Dory, Jr., respectively. He travelled worldwide to defend his title during his three-year reign as champion, including making frequent stops back in Vancouver to defend his title in NWA All Star, taking on challengers such as Lou Thesz, Don Leo Jonathan, Dutch Savage, Bill Dromo, Bearcat Wright, John Tolos, Chris Tolos, Abdullah the Butcher, Haystacks Calhoun, Bobby Shane, Dean Higuchi, Tex McKenzie and Paddy Barrett in the promotion.

Initially he aligned himself with other IWE wrestlers such as Mighty Inoue, Ashura Hara and Goro Tsurumi in feuding with the factions led by Giant Baba, Genichiro Tenryu, Stan Hansen and Riki Choshu. In 1989, after the Funks left All Japan, he made peace with Baba and the two men began to team, mostly in comedy tag team and six-man matches, though occasionally they got serious. During the 1989 World's Strongest Tag League, he and Baba lost to Hansen & Tenryu when Tenryu pinned Baba, the first time a Japanese wrestler had pinned Baba in All Japan. This tournament marked Kimura's last serious attempt at a title (the vacant AJPW World Tag Team Championship, eventually won by Hansen & Tenryu).

Heyworth was laid out by Campbell Wakefield on September 11, 1859.Historical Encyclopedia of Illinois and History of McLean County, Illinois ( Edited by Ezra M. Prince and John H. Before settlement, the locality now known as Heyworth was covered by a heavy growth of timber and underbrush which was inhabited by the Kickapoo Native Americans, and was supported a great number of deer, wild turkeys, and packs of large gray wolves. As settlers began to move West, families such as the Rutledges, Funks, Passwaters, Bishops, Nobles,Wakefields, and Martins settled in the immediate vicinity of the present Village of Heyworth as early as 1824.

Reopened in October 1911 as the New Wilson Hotel, it was touted as the finest hotel not just in Anacortes but between Seattle and Bellingham, with electricity, steam heat, and both hot and cold running water listed among the features. In May 1926 the Funks undertook another major refurbishment and expansion of the hotel by replacing the 1891 kitchen annex with an unadorned 4-story reinforced concrete annex that, despite the extra floor, would match the old building in height; An elevator was installed in the annex that could stop at floors in either building. The interior of the old building was rearranged so that all rooms now had a private bathroom. The $50,000 remodeling was complete within a few months and the appearance of the New Wilson Hotel has remained largely the same since.

In 2001, a local influential manager called Rudy Funk was appointed as the new first team manager by incoming chairman Alan Whitworth as the pair set about the task of turning the club around both on and off the field. The following two seasons were a successful re-building operation but Funks departed in 2003 and Blidworth returned to struggling in both league and cup competitions for a number of seasons under a number of different management teams. The club gained silverware in 2007 when under the management of Dave Hughes the club won the Nottinghamshire Intermediate Cup beating Bulwell FC 2-0 at Hucknall Town's Watnall Road Ground in April. In 2007 the Central Midlands league was reshuffled which saw Blidworth move to the Supreme Division and again under the management of Dave Hughes the club reached the final of the Quartet Catering League Cup where they were unfortunate to lose 1-0 in extra time to Dunkirk.
