It manages the SFC Angel Fund which invests in small companies qualifying for the SEIS and EIS investment schemes in the UK. Since its inception in 2012, there have been 4 main SEIS/EIS funds. The company has also managed other funds including the Fintech Fund, the Odyssey Fund, and the Epicure SEIS Fund. To date, SFC Capital has invested over £30 million in over 225 companies by combining its funds and its angel network.

Epicure were an Australian progressive rock band formed in Ballarat, in 1996 as Pima's Little Finger. Their original line-up was Juan Alban on vocals and guitar, Tim Bignell on bass guitar, Michael Brown on guitar, Luke Cairnes on guitar and Dom Santamaria on drums. "Armies Against Me" and "Life Sentence", were picked up by national youth radio, Triple J. These appeared on The Goodbye Girl (March 2004), their third album. Both tracks were listed on the Triple J Hottest 100, 2003, whilst the title track of their next extended play, Self Destruct in Five (October 2004), made the Triple J Hottest 100, 2004.

At Dell Publishing she wrote dozens of how-to books, before moving on to CBS Publications, where she edited at Epicure magazine and Everywomans. She moved to Bon Appetit in 1976, and remained as its editor in New York until 1990, after which she was named an editor-at-large at the magazine, with which she remained associated as a consultant for the remainder of her life. She co- founded Les Dames d'Escoffier in 1976, a society of professional women involved in the food, wine, and hospitality industries. In 1994, she was recognized with the James Beard Foundation Award."Who’s Who of Food & Beverage In America Members", James Beard Foundation.

Roberto Antonio Fernández Beyró Méndes Gonçalves was born on 27 October 1909 in Buenos Aires, Argentina to Juan Antonio Fernández Beyró and María Eugenia Méndes Gonçalves. Fernández Beyró managed restaurants in Buenos Aires, including the Jockey Club and Plaza Hotel and then opened his own restaurant, Monty's on Calle Honduras in Buenos Aires, and a restaurant in Rio de Janeiro, which allowed him to become an expert in Brazilian gastronomy. He was also a member of both the gourmet clubs Epicure and The Fork Club. He wrote a regular column in La Nación and collaborated with Miguel Brascó, who ran Diners magazine critiquing restaurants.

Originally from Devon, Bernard Beare began farming in 1911 and gradually moved East over the subsequent 25 years. In 1937 he settled at Worth Hall Farm, working with his young family to turn an ordinary dairy farm into a successful farming enterprise. In addition to the original dairy herd, Bernard was able to produce salad crops for the London markets, vegetables for pickling firms such as Epicure and herbs like mint and parsley for contract. In the early 1970s, Bernard's son Denis saw the potential for pick-your-own and, with his wife Marion, pursued turning Tulleys Farm into one of the largest pick-your-own farms in the area.

The chickens of the Bresse region have long enjoyed a high reputation. The lawyer, politician, epicure and gastronome Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755–1826), who was born at Belley in the Ain, is supposed to have described the Bresse chicken as "the queen of poultry, the poultry of kings". The name Volaille de Bresse, used for both chicken products and for the dinde de Bresse, the turkey of the area, received legal protection on 22 December 1936; this became an appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) in 1957. Epicure started in 1996 as a school rock band, Pima's Little Finger, its five original members Juan Alban, Michael 'Brownie' Brown, Tim Bignell, Dom Santamaria and Luke Cairnes played their first gig at the Dunnstown Football Club and were booed off stage in favour of Cold Chisel. They released their first recording in 1996 – a demo tape, The Least of These. Their base in Ballarat's local live music scene was The Rat at the Bridge Mall Inn (now closed). After they released their first extended play, The Means to an End (1997), they were signed to Flugelhorn Records and managed by Mark Eatock, who bought the Bridge Mall Inn in early 1999.

Alletz's most famous work, L'Agronome, ou Dictionnaire portatif du cultivateur ("The Agronomist, or Portable Dictionary of the Farmer"), was first published in 1760 in a two-volume format and was frequently republished until the 19th century; it was considered one of the best manuals of country living during its time. Besides advice on gardening, raising livestock, veterinary medicine, and hunting, the manual contains a large number of practical recipes fit to satisfy a sophisticated country epicure. The section devoted to wine and wine-making is significant and covers such topics as pairing wines, anecdotes concerning wine, authors who wrote about wine, types of wine, and vinegar recipes.

Rasiya is a popular genre of Indian folk music from the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh. The style of Rasiya consists of multiple sub genres and is performed in various contexts. The songs are known to portray a wide range of topics however, they are most commonly sung to a set of stock tunes that often portray the sexual relationship of the Hindu god Krishna. The term Rasiya is the Hindi word for “epicure” and although it is the name of the genre, it also refers to the male suitors, or the god Krishna himself as depicted in the songs. Rasiya’s are sung and typically played with a variety of instruments however, the most common are the “Dholak” drums, Sarangi, and Harmonium.

Formed in 2003 by the amalgamation of bands Velvet Llama and Trace, The On Fires (known then as Asleep in the Park) retained the two lead singers Max and Marty. Recording and releasing their debut album Sky Caves In in 2004, the band embarked on a national tour with Epicure , followed by extensive touring in and around Melbourne during 2005/06. 2006 saw the band return to the studio, resulting in the EP Let You Go, released at the end of June 2007. In September 2007 they embarked on their first European tour playing cities such as Amsterdam, Kiev, Berlin, Prague, Kraków, Bucharest and Istanbul and became the first international act to be recorded live-to-air at Istanbul's only commercial rock radio station, K-Rock.

Wellman's novelette "Coven" was the cover story in the July 1942 Weird Tales Wellman's novelette "Venus Enslaved" was the cover story in the Summer 1942 Planet Stories In the 1930s and 1940s, Wellman began selling to the bigger publications such as Weird Tales, Wonder Stories and Astounding Stories. At this time, when Wellman was living in New York, Weird Tales published numerous stories based on three of his most famous characters. Judge Keith Hilary Pursuivant (written under the pen name Gans T. Fields) is described as "a renowned scholar and retired judge, hero of World War I, and now hero of darker, more dangerous battles. Huge of frame, an epicure, an authority on the occult, Pursuivant strides forth from his reclusive home in West Virginia to confront evil wherever it appears".

Other influencers and friends were the noted plantswoman Norah Lindsay, the plant collector Collingwood Ingram, who was their neighbour at Benenden, and Reginald Cooper, one of Nicolson's closest friends, whose earlier garden at Cothay Manor in Somerset has been described as the "Sissinghurst of the West Country". Sackville-West's considerable knowledge of old roses was deepened by her friendship with Edward Bunyard, plantsman, epicure, and the author of Old Garden Roses, who was a frequent visitor. The historian Peter Davey places the garden at the very end of a tradition of Arts and Crafts gardening which by the 1930s, in the face of changes in "taste and economics", had almost come to its close. The end result, in structural terms, is an onstage base of operations in Friars, to which can be brought a succession of unconsciously- comic characters from different social backgrounds, who hold different professions and different beliefs, but whose lowest common denominator – gullibility – grants them equal victim-status in the end. Dapper, the aspirant gambler, loses his stake; Sir Epicure Mammon loses his money and his dignity; Drugger, the would-be businessman, parts with his cash, but ends up no nearer to the success he craves; the Puritan duo, Tribulation and Ananias, never realise their scheme to counterfeit Dutch money. Jonson reserves his harshest satire for these Puritan characters—perhaps because the Puritans, in real life, wished to close down the theatres. (Jonson's play Bartholomew Fair is also anti-Puritan.) Tellingly, of all those gulled in the play, it is the Puritans alone whom Jonson denies a brief moment of his audience's pity; presumably, he reckons their life-denying self-righteousness renders them unworthy of it.

Sir Arthur was said by Scott's acquaintance Allan Cunningham to have been modelled on Sir John Whitefoord, 3rd Bt., though it has also been claimed that he was based on Sir John Sinclair, 1st Bt., a Caithness landowner who was taken in by a fraudulent geologist, Rudolf Erich Raspe. According to one commentator, “Scott detested Sir John Sinclair, and probably got some pleasure from representing him as Sir Arthur Wardour”. Similarities have also been noted between Sir Arthur and the fictional Sir Epicure Mammon, the gullible nobleman in Ben Jonson’s play The Alchemist. Yet another claim is that Wardour is a portrait of his own author as a true-blue Tory supporter of the claims of the established aristocratic order; A. N. Wilson was also struck by the similarity Sir Arthur displays to Scott's behaviour in later years, “duped by hare- brained financial schemes and folie de grandeur”, and, when his fortune is restored, talking of buying contiguous estates that would stretch from shore to shore.

In 2012, the Union yet again underwent major renovations, including adding the university operated restaurant Good Eats, new flooring and stage demolition in the Redwood Room, a complete remodel of Round Table Pizza, an addition of the much requested "prayer room" or "quiet room" on the second floor, a complete remodel of the Terminal Lounge on the second floor, and tearing down the University Center Restaurant and building the new Epicure Restaurant.
