The combo of Joyce Pensato's untitled mouse head from 1992 (more Ignatz than Mickey) and Elizabeth Murray's shaped abstraction, "Druid" (1979), smack in the middle of the uppermost reaches of the installation, is an instant eye-magnet, but it would be so much more enriching to experience, in a larger show, these two idiosyncratic artists facing off in a room of their own.

Her husband (Gabriel Byrne, in the best performance he's ever given) walks around in a fog trying to keep his family, and himself, together; her older son (Jesse Eisenberg) struggles with similarities to his mom and his fear about being a new father; and her younger son (Devin Druid) tries to balance all this with the regular horrors of being a teenager.

"Sexual intimacy can be used as a ritual representation of the fertility of Earth and Goddess when celebrating the cycles of seasons; as a spontaneous reaction to psychic energy either during ritual, meditation, or spell work; or a consenting form of kink as energy play between two or more people," says Arwen, a 23-year-old Neo-Druid from Orange, California.

To this end, he consults remedies both medical and folk: He undergoes an IV treatment at a medical institution in Las Vegas called Hangover Heaven; consults with a menagerie of academics, a Druid, several doctors, and the CEO of 5-Hour Energy (among others); participates in a glacial New Year's polar bear swim; absorbs the beer-soaked wisdom of the English countryside; and ingests any number of curative concoctions, with varying degrees of success.
