The center today no longer exists, but the university does continue to support its key educational initiative, the Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Survey Research.. Senator Urquhart also drafted SB 284, which focuses on Concurrent Enrollment for High School students. This made students pay not more than $30/credit hour—for credits that they concur in, which would still be at least an 80% subsidy. The NAIA membership bid was endorsed from the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC), and UNT Dallas awaits on a decision on conference membership during the conference's spring meetings. Josh Howard was hired as the men's basketball coach in April 2020. The decision to add the athletic program was announced after the students voted on a $7-per credit hour athletics fee to help fund the department and associated costs. The vote comes after the university established the foundation for collegiate athletics, including the hiring of an athletic director.

Beginning in 1937, there was a movement in Arlington to elevate NTAC to four-year college status and change the name of the college. Davis started supporting this movement in 1938. He argued that NTAC's location in North Texas, large student body, and relatively low cost per credit hour made it a strong candidate for senior- college status. Old Main at Kilgore College Kilgore College (KC) is a community college in Kilgore, Texas. It has an annual enrollment in excess of 5,000 students, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the Associate's Degree. On October 2, 2007 Heather Bresch, the daughter of then-governor (and subsequently United States Senator) Joe Manchin of West Virginia, was promoted to chief operating officer at Mylan, a Cecil Township, Pennsylvania-based generic drug maker. On October 11, 2007 the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette contacted West Virginia University to confirm academic credentials claimed by Bresch, including an EMBA degree. Research done by the Post-Gazette indicated that Bresch's course work ceased with 22 out of the 48-credit-hour program remaining to be completed. The WVU Registrar told the newspaper that Bresch had earned an undergraduate degree, but did not finish her graduate degree.

McDowell Administration Building TAMUC is historically committed to making higher education accessibility affordable to those in need. Insurance Continuing Education are requirements for insurance agents in the United States to maintain their ability to sell different types of insurance products after getting licensed by the state department of insurance (DOI). There is no nationwide accreditation since insurance agents are licensed by individual states. In 1935, Melton obtained a position as the chairman of the Department of Psychology at the University of Missouri Under Melton leadership, the department established a highly regarded, nationally recognized and rigorous master's degree program that ensured automatic admission to a PhD program at any university upon completion. Further, Melton established a five-credit-hour, lecture-laboratory introductory psychology course, that was adopted as an option in the science requirement of the college, although with resistance from other basic science departments. The university will begin intercollegiate athletic competition in the 2020-21 academic year as a member of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) at the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) level. In August 2019, the university announced plans to add intercollegiate athletics programs for the following academic year. The decision was announced after the Texas A&M; System board of regents approved TAMU-SA adding a student fee to support athletics. The measure was first passed by an overwhelming student body vote to add a $10 per credit hour fee, up to a maximum of $120 per semester, to create and fund the department.

Everything that a member of the GEB needs to know about performing in a military marching band is readily available to be taught by instructors and the student leadership. The Golden Eagle Band is also an academic class that is worth one credit hour for each semester enrolled. Civilian students need only to register for the class during registration periods throughout the semester while participants in the Corps of Cadets can either request to be put in HHC and live with the GEB or live with one of the many line companies on campus and attend the class. However, living with the band is highly recommended.

The university sought to rebrand itself as "Ohio's Polytechnic University," initially considering an attempt to change the name. The rebranding process often involved expensive advertising, and Scarborough at times made comments that outraged the several other presidents of universities in northeast Ohio. In a move some felt was an attempt to raise tuition in violation of Ohio legislative action on the matter, Scarborough imposed at $50 a credit-hour fee for upper level classes. The Advanced Academy did not focus on a specific discipline, and therefore required a minimum GPA, minimum SAT and ACT scores, and that its applicants be on the College Preparatory track. Eighty Community Life and Worship Credits (CLW Credits) are required for graduation from HBU. Transfer students are also allotted 0.75 CLW Credits for each credit hour transferred into the university. CLW Credits may be accrued from a variety of opportunities including: campus service, a weekly traditional chapel service known as Convocation, a weekly student-led contemporary worship service known as Quest, small group Bible studies, lecture series and through the Assisting Communities Through Students office which coordinates community service and volunteer work in the Houston community. The on-campus "Community Life and Worship" biyearly magazine lists the different opportunities through which students may earn CLW Credits.

These units came about during the late 19th and early 20th centuries through a series of three disjointed events, all designed to standardize the collegiate educational experience. Prior to this time (late 19th century) admission to post-secondary education involved comprehensive examination, either by public oral process, or private written process. These processes varied greatly among U.S. colleges and universities, due to the highly subjective nature of these types of examination. Eventually, these methods were slowly discredited due to their poor reliability and validity. Charles W. Eliot at Harvard University, in the late 19th century, devised both a contact hour standard for secondary education, and the original credit hour collegiate post-secondary standard.

In 2008, the athletic department tried again to increase the athletics fee to pay for the new stadium, which now had an estimated cost of $60 million. UNT Student Government Association (SGA) student senators voted to hold a student election on the referendum to approve the new fee, which amounted to a net increase of $7 per credit hour for each student, or approximately $840 per student over the course of four years. According to state law, students cannot pay for more than half the cost of a stadium. The athletic department made a concerted effort to promote the higher fee to students, and supporters suggested hiring street preachers or troubadours to promote the election.

Recently since 2005–06, the government has been trying to implement reform that is based on the European three-tier model of bachelor’s, master's and doctoral degrees. Near the end of 2015, Al Snow and Simon Van Der Wolf started a training academy, originally based in the UK but since expanded to include branches in many other countries. They along with other professional wrestlers (including Joe E Legend, Doug Williams, Phil Powers, Jonny Storm, John Klinger, and many more) held tryouts in February 2016. In April 2019, local media in Louisville reported that the academy had applied to the Kentucky Department of Education for formal accreditation as a vocational school. The academy has developed a two-year, 60-credit hour program (on the semester system) in all aspects of the wrestling business, ranging from in-ring performance to writing and TV production.

Glover is the leading proponent of an effort by the University of Florida to institute block tuition, in replacement of having students pay by credit hour. Under one proposal, students would be charged a flat-rate fee analogous to 15 credits for full- time undergraduate students regardless if they take 12, 15 or 18 credits. Charging market-rate tuition for distance-education graduate students is also a part of the plan. Glover believes block tuition is the "way it should be," believing it would financially benefit students taking a heavy load of classes, cost slightly more for those taking fewer classes, could help increase UF’s graduation rate, and open up spots for students who might otherwise be turned away under enrollment limits.

The Council approved his book on 'Biotechnology and its applications to Agriculture' as the accredited reference for the course. The task involved setting the syllabus for both the theoretical and practical elements of the course. He was also given the same responsibilities for a corresponding course taught in English in the parallel English Programme study adopted by the college. He was invited by the department of Plant Pathology to design and set out the syllabus for an advanced course on "Biotechnology and Plant Pathology" with its two elements, theory and practical, to be taught as a mandatory course within the credit hour system newly adopted by the college as stated by the new college's by-law to post-graduate students registering for M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees.

The Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMSCS) is a MOOC-based degree program leading to a fully accredited Masters qualification, presented in conjunction with Udacity. A contribution of $2 Million from AT&T; has funded the initial development of the program as well as continuing integration of technology. The program is designed and maintained to present a level of academic challenge entirely equivalent to a traditional MSCS course, with equivalent academic rigor as a founding principle. The estimate of the cost of studying the course is however very different; being in the region of $7,000 for a student completing the Masters course in 2 years; composed of the minimum 10 for graduation 3-credit- hour courses @ $510 per course plus $301 enrollment fee per semester for say 6 semesters.

Also this year, KUEC offered its first certificate program, Systems, Analysis and Design, created by an advisory board of IT professionals. In 2001, the Hall Family Foundation of Kansas City donated $5 million for the KU Edwards Campus expansion project and the next year, the Victor and Helen Regnier charitable foundation donated another $3 million to the construction of a second building on the Edwards Campus. Those donations, combined with financial support from the Roy A. Edwards family and a $15 per credit hour bond fee that would be paid by Edwards Campus students, allowed for the construction of Regnier Hall, which began on Oct. 14, 2002. In March 2010, AUCA has established partnership with Bard College of New York State, United States. The partnership allows students of American Studies, Anthropology, Economics, European Studies, International and Comparative Politics, Journalism and Mass Communications, Psychology, Sociology, and Software Engineering programs to receive liberal arts degrees fully accredited in the US. According to the USAID accreditation report, "AUCA is the first higher education institution in Central Asia that functions according to the American model, with a credit-hour system, an American-style liberal arts curriculum, and a commitment to democratic values, freedom of expression and inquiry, and academic integrity and honesty." One Main Building (formerly Merchants and Manufacturers Building) Recognizing the need for a university presence in Downtown Houston, the Board of Regents of the University of Houston acquired the assets of South Texas Junior College on August 6, 1974 and opened the University of College () as a four-year institution under the organization and control of the University of Houston. By August 1979, it became a stand-alone university when the 66th Texas Legislature established as a separate and distinct institution in the University of Houston System. The college's first four-year degree was a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and resident students attended for $4 per credit hour.
