Rap battle is generally believed to have started in the East Coast hip hop scene in the late 1980s. Braathens SAFE and Aeroflot introduced flights to Murmansk Airport in Russia from 1993, and same year SAS started flights to London. The domestic aviation market was deregulated on 1 April 1994. This led Braathens to establish two direct flights per day to Oslo, for the first time competing with SAS on the same route out of Tromsø.

The Top o' the Senator's history dates back to 1929, the year Robert Angeloff opened the Busy Bee Diner at 249 Victoria Street. The restaurant was later bought by George Nicolau and in 1948 remodeled and renamed the Senator. In 1984 the business was bought by Bob Sniderman - son of Sam Sniderman - and in 1989 the Senator Steakhouse was added next door. In June 1990, above the Steakhouse, Sniderman opened the jazz club Top o' the Senator.

Norway Airlines lost NOK 12 million in 1990. In January 1991, the airline won the contract to fly personnel the Norwegian Armed Forces, as the airline priced half a million krone lower than Busy Bee. Operations started in April and secured sufficient business that the airline could order its third aircraft, along with a contract from Gullivers Reiser for additional charter flights. Within a week it received concession to operate scheduled flights between Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm to London.

This is also a station for Greyhound Lines and Peter Pan Bus Lines with frequent service to Boston, New York City, and other destinations. Wellesley's Council on Aging contracts out a daily low-cost minibus service offering elderly access to several local medical facilities and the Woodland MBTA station. Further afield is the Springwell Senior Medical Escort Program / Busy Bee Transportation Service for rides to medical & non-medical services in the area. There is also a monthly minibus to the Natick Mall.

This involved a more market-oriented management and a focus on service increase, including better regularity and free coffee. After this, Stuart performed with Vassar Clements and Doc Watson before joining Johnny Cash's band in 1980. In 1982, he released a second album called Busy Bee Cafe on Sugar Hill Records. The album was composed of a jam session that included a number of country and bluegrass performers such as Cash, Watson, and Earl Scruggs. In 1985, Stuart accompanied Johnny Cash to Memphis and played on the Class of '55 album that also featured Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, and Jerry Lee Lewis.

In the new millennium, Ahearn worked on a series of musical shorts with some of the stars from Wild Style. Bongo Barbershop (8 minutes, 2005) stars Grandmaster Caz in a battle with Balozi Dola, a Tanzanian emcee. Busy on the Beach (4 minutes, 2006 Produced by Victoria Hart Glavin) features Busy Bee Starski taking the audience on a tour of his Baltimore neighbourhood, nicknamed the Beach. Brothers Fantastic (7 minutes, 2007) features Master Rob and Waterbed Kevie Kev from the Fantastic Freaks.

Known for his comedic rhymes, Busy Bee originally gained a large following through MC rap battles in Staten Island, Brooklyn, and New Jersey. He was famously roasted by Kool Moe Dee at Harlem World in Manhattan, NY, December 1981, in one of the earliest documented rap battles. In 1985, he won the New Music Seminar's MC World Supremacy Belt. In the early 1980s Afrika Bambaataa asked Busy to join his Zulu Nation where the young MC would DJ for Bambaataa's Zulu Nation parties.

"You Are Old, Father William" is a poem by Lewis Carroll that appears in his 1865 book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It is recited by Alice in Chapter 5, "Advice from a Caterpillar" (Chapter 3 in the original manuscript). Alice informs the Caterpillar that she has previously tried to repeat "How Doth the Little Busy Bee" and has had it all come wrong as "How Doth the Little Crocodile". The Caterpillar asks her to repeat "You Are Old, Father William", and she recites.

He and his family emigrated to New Zealand in 1900, where he tried farming before taking a job as the sub-editor of the New Zealand Times. Greek cafes left a remarkable legacy on Australia's cultural history and played a significant role in the changing landscape of our regions. Almost every town across rural NSW and Queensland boasted a Greek cafe. Greek family owned cafes in northern New South Wales which have closed in recent years include The Busy Bee in Gunnedah, the White Rose in Uralla, Fardouly's Cafe and Pete's Place in Inverell. Still operating are The Paragon in Katoomba and the Niagara in Gundagai, in continuous operation for over a century.

By 2008, Gholson soon became one of the most sought after hip hop producers in the music industry. Lebanon is host to the annual Wilson County Fair, which is considered by Busy Bee Trader Magazine (based in Greenbrier, TN) to be the best County Fair in Tennessee. The Wilson County Fair has been listed as one of the top 50 fairs in North America by attendance in 2008, 2009, and 2010. The fair has also been named as one of the top events to attend by Southeastern Tourism and voted the "Best Fair" by the Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation. It has paid attendance more than double that of the Tennessee State Fair.

Wild Style takes place in 1981 in New York and centers around graffiti artists, Zoro (played by Lee Quiñones) and his encounters with an uptown journalist named, Virginia (played by Patti Astor). More so than its story, however, the film is notable for featuring several prominent figures from early hip hop culture such as Busy Bee Starski, Fab Five Freddy, The Cold Crush Brothers and Grandmaster Flash. Throughout the movie there are scenes depicting activities common in the early days of hip hop. These include MCing, turntablism, graffiti and b-boying.

In 1983, the airline received concession to start a regular scheduled service to Stavanger. A ten- seat Beechcraft Super King Air was bought and services started on 12 January 1984. Services to Bergen Airport, Flesland started on 10 July. Soon there were four daily round trips to both cities, supplemented by charter trips operated by Penguin. The importance of the DJ is shown by how he or she selects and controls the music in respect to the audience's needs. The relation and differences between DJs and MCs are explained, going through their roles in the music industry. The remaining three F-27s were sold to the Braathens Rederi-owned Busy Bee between 1975 and 1977. Johnny Cash (who said the first record he ever heard was Jimmie Rodgers, and covered Rodgers' "In The Jailhouse Now") tried for to emulate Rodgers' signature yodel on a duet of "Hey, Porter" with Marty Stuart on his 1982 album Busy Bee Cafe with Earl Scruggs on banjo. Cash admitted that he can't yodel "like Jimmie Rodgers used to." The 1982 film Honkytonk Man, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, was loosely based on Rodgers' life.

He also wrote the song “Busy Bee”. Dave would continue to play and write with Ugly Kid Joe until their demise in 1997 including multiple song writing credits on the albums Menace to Sobriety and Motel California. Upon reforming in 2011, Dave played guitar and produced their most recent EP Stairway to Hell in 2012 as well as their full length album Uglier Than They Used Ta Be in 2015.

In the book How to Rap, Immortal Technique explains how party content played a big part in old-school hip hop: "hip-hop was born in an era of social turmoil... in the same way that slaves used to sing songs on a plantation... that's the party songs that we used to have". Battle rap was also a part of the old-school hip hop aesthetic. While discussing battle rapping, Esoteric said, "a lot of my stuff stems from old school hip-hop, braggadocio ethic". A famous old-school hip hop battle occurred in December 1981, when Kool Moe Dee challenged Busy Bee Starski.

Darryl Gibson was born August 8, 1967 and was raised in the Bronx, New York and spent much of his childhood near Echo Park where early hip hop DJs Grandmaster Flash, DJ Sinbad and Busy Bee would throw block parties. He was inspired as a child to rap when one day The Fearless Four were performing in his neighborhood and invited him to say a rhyme on their mic. Gibson's first musical endeavor was a short-lived rap group with his family named Disco Cousins, and he rapped under the name Baby Breeze. Later, while a member of the Five-Percent Nation, Gibson joined the rap group Almighty God Committee from Queens, rapping under the name Positive Knowledge Allah.

Wild Style Original Soundtrack is the official soundtrack to the 1982 hip hop film Wild Style. It was originally released in 1983 via Animal Records, and re-released twice: in 1997 via Rhino Entertainment, and in 2007 as 25th anniversary edition via Mr Bongo Records. The album was produced by Charlie Ahearn and Chris Stein with Fab 5 Freddy, who served as musical director of the project. It featured appearances from Busy Bee, Cold Crush Brothers, DJ Charlie Chase, Grandmaster Caz, Grand Mixer DXT, Grand Wizzard Theodore & the Fantastic Five, Double Trouble (Rodney Cee & Kevie Kev Rockwell of Funky 4 + 1), Prince Whipper Whip, Rammellzee, AJ Scratch, D.J. Stieve Steve and Shockdell.

For the song "Lyrics to Go", he sampled a portion of "Inside My Love" by Minnie Riperton, in which Riperton's whistle register is sustained throughout, giving "Lyrics to Go" a droning backdrop. The song "Sucka Nigga" contains a slowed-down sample of Rodney Cee's voice, taken from "M.C. Battle" with Busy Bee, which was featured in the old school hip hop film Wild Style (1983). While DJing at a party, Q-Tip played Jade's hit "Don't Walk Away"; noting the positive crowd reaction when the song's bassline began playing, he was inspired to sample the bassline for the album's lead single, "Award Tour".Jade’s “Don’t Walk Away” Inspired Q-Tip to Make “Award Tour” Medium.

The company made an agreement to wet lease Busy Bee F-27s one some of the routes, while the most trafficked ones would be taken over by 737s.Tjomsland and Wilsberg, 1995: 280–283 A 1985 government committee, led by State Secretary Per Arne Watle, recommended that more route be flown by both Braathens SAFE and SAS, and that additional airlines be allowed to start other routes. On 5 September 1985, Braathens SAFE applied for the route Trondheim – Bodø – Harstad/Narvik – Tromsø and Tromsø–Longyearbyen. SAS had stated that it was fine with them if other airlines started flying international routes they did not, and on 17 October Braathens SAFE also applied for the routes Bergen–Stavanger–Paris, Bergen–Stavanger–Manchester, Oslo–Stavanger–Brussels and Trondheim–Bergen–Newcastle.

At this point Ahearn was approached by graffiti artist Fred Braithwaite, later known as Fab 5 Freddy, who wanted to make a film about hip-hop (as a broad culture encompassing emceeing, DJing, graffiti and break-dancing) and graffiti as an art form. Braithwaite was an acquaintance of Lee Quiñones, whom Ahearn had long-wanted to film and whose murals he has always admired. Braithwaite brought Quiñones in to meet Ahearn and the three began discussions about creating a hip-hop movie. Soon after the meeting, Braithwaite and Ahearn attended an event in a north Bronx neighbourhood called the Valley, where Busy Bee Starski, who went on to appear in several of Ahearn's productions, was performing on stage as an emcee.

In the same way, groups like the Cold Crush Brothers and The Force MCs were known for their routines, competitive attitude, and battle rhymes. Tapes of battles like these circulated widely, even without them becoming viable recordings.

He toured the Middle East and North Africa, visiting Israel, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Morocco, Kuwait, Tunisia, Algiers, Mauritania, Jordan, Dubai, Bahrain, Lebanon and in Syria where he was greeted by relatives of his paternal grandfather in the city of Aleppo. Upon returning to the states Bob recorded a series of singles for Spring Posse Records with the group the Zulu Kings, which consisted of Grand Master Melle Mel, from the Furious Five, Ice-T, Grand Master Caz of the Cold Crush Brothers, Africa Izlam, Chief Rocker Busy Bee and Microphone King Donald-D. As a group they would also score the first Hip Hop animation series Street frogs produced by Steve Rifkind for S.R.C records. Relocating to Paris, France in 1987, he partnered with Dee Nasty on the alternative radio program Radio Nova.

Busy Bee Cafe is the second solo album of country singer Marty Stuart. Unlike his debut solo album, this project contains original material by Stuart, including the title track, 'Boogie For Clarence' and 'Long Train Gone'. The album also pays tribute to the people with whom Stuart honed his craft as a musician; with songs written by Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, and Johnny Cash (Cash appears as a guest performer on 'One More Ride', 'Hey Porter' and 'Get In Line, Brother'), as well as Stuart's own 'Boogie For Clarence', which was written for country guitar icon Clarence White. Stuart would later record another tribute to White on his 2010 album Ghost Train: The Studio B Sessions with the instrumental track 'Hummingbyrd', which was recorded with White's Fender Telecaster which he purchased from Clarence's daughter.

Starting in the 1950s, the middle classes were able to buy inexpensive motorcars so that motorcycles became transport for the poor. The rocker subculture came about due to factors such as: the end of post-war rationing in the UK, a general rise in prosperity for working class youths, the recent availability of credit and financing for young people, the influence of American popular music and films, the construction of race track-like arterial roads around British cities, the development of transport cafes and a peak in British motorcycle engineering. The name "rocker" came not from music, but from the rockers found in 4-stroke engines, as opposed to the two stroke engines used by scooters and ridden by mods.

They were unable to sell three of the F27s which had been replaced with F50s the previous year. However, the company was able to downsize easily after 30 pilots resigned to work for SAS Commuter, which expanded its operations in Northern Norway in 1990. It proposed in October that the airline could take over operation of the military Lockheed C-130 Hercules transporters, allowing them to be wet leased on commercial duties when not in regular use, but the idea was squarely rejected by military.
