The BFLPE is thought to be produced by two opposing social comparison effects, assimilation and contrast effects. An assimilation effect is when the individual's self-concept is pulled toward the comparison target, leading to a positive relationship between self-concept and the comparison group. A contrast effect is when the individual's self-concept is pushed away from the comparison target, leading to a negative relationship between self-concept and the comparison group.

Like his hero Alex Chilton, he had a fondness for accessible pop music that had lots of moving parts under the hood. Lyrically, he was both class clown and over-achiever. Prior to its triumph, it had placed last a total of eight times, once with "nul points" after the introduction of the current scoring method. Finland's entry in 1982, "Nuku pommiin" by Kojo, was one of only fifteen songs since the modern scoring system was instituted in 1975 to earn no points. (Norway had placed last eleven times and scored zero points four times, but had also won twice before 2006). He authored and published a book on themes on Awoism for which he came under severe criticism from other Awoists who saw the work as a crude attempt by an under-achiever to suck-up to Baba Awo. Still, Baba Awo (as Obafemi Awolowo was called) was fond of him and kept checking up on him. Indeed, Omoboriowo claimed in an interview with the Sun that Awolowo had said that of all the candidates in the '79 elections, he (Omoboriowo) was the only one who wasn't spurred by monetary desires. Expectedly though, his relationship with Awolowo (at least, politically) soured upon his decamp from the UPN.

He started a short-priced favourite at his next start in the Wellington Guineas and won easily, being eased down by rider Chad Ormsby in the final stages. Perhaps his biggest weakness was his lack of ability to fend off runners that closed from behind. This was displayed at his next start in the Waikato Guineas, where subsequent New Zealand Derby winner Silent Achiever came from behind late and won narrowly. He was scratched from the New Zealand Derby due to a wet track and was instead sent to Sydney where he finished a disappointing 8th in the Randwick Guineas behind Mosheen on a wet track and an unlucky 2nd in the Rosehill Guineas behind Laser Hawk.

She is the antithesis of Samantha: optimistic, hopelessly romantic, and a believer in true love and soul mates.
