During the early 1970s, St. Clair served as the chief counsel for the Boston School Committee in a lawsuit that led to court ordered bussing. The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra provides opportunities for music education in the Southeastern Michigan area. The initial plan was for black students to be bussed 10 of their 12 years in school and white students to be bussed 2 of 12 years. The court ceased active supervision of this plan in 1978. The racial guidelines used have seen several revisions since that time. In 1984, a plan was instituted for middle and high schools that involved a system of zones and satellite areas. In 1992, Project Renaissance was implemented in the elementary schools, a program that achieved desegregation by allowing parents some choice in school placement. A mandatory 15–50% African-American population in all schools was established in 1996. Two years later, six parents sued to remove the upper limit from Central High School, a traditionally African-American school.

However, Oldham appears to have persuaded Foxe to found a secular college instead, along the lines of New College or Magdalen, supposedly telling him that "monks were but a sort of bussing [buzzing] flies ... whose state could not long endure"—showing, according to some, that Oldham was well aware of the coming Reformation. In return for his generosity, daily prayers for him were recited in the new chapel at Corpus Christi both during his lifetime and after his death, and the college still has a contemporary portrait of him. Oldham may also have patronized Brasenose College, Oxford, which his former master William Smyth had founded in 1509. The historian John Hooker stated that Oldham's advances to Smyth were rebuffed, but evidence of the patronage existed in the form of his coat of arms that used to be set in a library window there.

Herman has written about the 1995 Srebrenica massacre in articles such as "The Politics of the Srebrenica Massacre". Herman writes: "the evidence for a massacre, certainly of one in which 8,000 men and boys were executed, has always been problematic, to say the least" and "the 'Srebrenica massacre' is the greatest triumph of propaganda to emerge from the Balkan wars... the link of this propaganda triumph to truth and justice is non-existent". He criticized the validity of the term genocide in the case of Srebrenica, pointing out alleged inconsistencies in the case of organized extermination such as the Bosnian Serb Army's bussing of Muslim women and children out of Srebrenica. Marko Attila Hoare has criticized Herman's position on the Srebrenica massacre, claiming in the far-right publication FrontPage Magazine that the Srebrenica Research Group was formed "to propagate the view that the Srebrenica massacre never happened".

The project was originally conceived in 1991 by a group of ten grassroots community leaders, under the acronym of the L.A. CRUSADERS, including Lisa Sarno, Ronald Lazar and other respected neighborhood improvement organizers. Ronald Lazar met with two representatives of Donald Trump's organization. Ronald Lazar articulated the plan for the school and suggested Donald Trump seek a better location for the world's tallest building. The Trump Organization responded by graciously changing their plans. Assemblyman Mike Roos and his chief aide, Michael Caccioti, arranged for the group to meet in a local church, where ideas were born, rallies were organized, and eventually resulted in an architectural model depicting the combination of schools, community green space, centralized social services, commercial space, low-cost housing and a solution to the expense of $200,000 annually spent on the daily bussing of thousands of students to schools as far away as North Hollywood.

At the time, online video was still new but the two thought it a good idea to help students who miss class and or need review, especially those who spend much time bussing to and from school. They began to record their live classes with screen capture software and posted the lectures online where students could see it on a computer to download it onto their iPods. At first it allowed them to direct students to videos instead of reteaching material in class. Soon they found that even students who had attended class reviewed the videos, including before exams. It was Sams’ idea to record all lecture and dedicate classroom time to questions, exercises and active lab work, which is the center of the notion of flipped classroom and the two teachers did so for the 2007-2008 school year for all their chemistry and AP chemistry classes.

Because of overcrowding at GHS and a limited fleet of school buses, the school board was hard-pressed to develop a city- and county-wide bus plan capable of carrying out a court-ordered cross-bussing integration plan. Of the initial 1,160 students attending Buchholz that first year, nearly 800 rode buses. There simply were not enough buses to allow every school to begin classes at a "normal" hour, so Buchholz (and Westwood) were shifted to an "early" day schedule, with classes held from 7am to 1pm for the remainder of the academic year. Rather than holding classes on a rigid schedule of six fixed periods, Buchholz experimented with an innovative system of modular scheduling. The school day was divided into 21 mods, each 17 minutes long, and class length varied from one to three mods, depending on subject matter and day of the week.

Also made were an 1895 Erster Benz omnibus and an 1896 firewagon, and a 1904 MAN Bussing omnibus (Sinclair's 1977). David Sinclair, an influential dealer to the diecast collecting hobby, imported some of the first Cursor Models to the United States in the mid-1970s; previous to this they were unknown in the United States (Levine 2009). Cursor also featured several racing models for the museum as well, including the 1903 Mercedes Rennwagen, 1911 Blitzen Benz race car and the Mercedes SSK Kompressor driven by Christian Werner, the winner of the 1924 Targa Florio race in Italy. Some collectors are critical of plastic for collector's automobiles, but those in-the-know realize that companies like Cursor, Minialuxe of France and Brumm and RIO Models of Italy, all have done their earlier "bicycle" tire vehicles in plastic because the spidery detail necessary for realistic portrayal of wire wheels and roof ties is not possible with diecast zamac (Sinclair's 1976).

The closure of Ravenswood meant that the predominantly minority students of East Palo Alto were bused to other schools in the district, such as Carlmont High School in Belmont; these were more distant than Palo Alto High School, which is in a different district and across the county line, and at the time were predominantly white. Another of the district's high schools, Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, is also closer to East Palo Alto. In July 2013 the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area, working with the law firm of Bingham McCutchen, submitted a report to the district school board asserting that bussing the East Palo Alto students to such schools as Carlmont rather than to Menlo-Atherton was a violation of their legal rights. In October that year, the district announced that it would make it easier for East Palo Alto students to attend Menlo-Atherton.

This leads to a formal request in August from the railway unions for a parliamentary inquiry, which was denied. On 6 August, Friends of the Railway was the recipient of leaked internal documents from Westrail indicating that the Department of Transport had suppressed reports that contradicted the governments position that electrification of the line was uneconomical. The Minister initially denied the existence of the report, before acknowledging it the next day when photographic evidence was printed by the Daily News. On 17 August it was alleged that the Government disrupted a public Friends of the Railway meeting at the Cottesloe Civic Centre by bussing in Liberal party members to stifle debate. Later in August, a public protest of up to 3000 people marched through Perth and the closure was debated extensively in the Legislative council with the government alleging that “subversive” actors were funding Friends of the Railway, and the opposition accusing the government of a “systematic dismantling” of railway services.Hansard.

The main highways that serve Scranton are Interstate 81, which runs North to Binghamton, New York and Ontario and south to Wilkes- Barre, Harrisburg and Tennessee; Interstate 84, which runs east to Milford and New England States; Interstate 380, which runs southeast to Pocono Pines and Interstate 80 east to New York City and west to San Francisco; Interstate 476/Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension, which runs south to Allentown and Philadelphia; U.S. Route 6, which runs east to Carbondale/Honesdale and parallel to I-84 to New England States and west to Erie; and U.S. Route 11, which runs parallel to I-81. Scranton's provider of public transportation is the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS). COLTS buses provide extensive service within the city and more limited service that reaches in all directions to Carbondale, Daleville, Pittston, and Fleetville. The other bussing company is the Luzerne County Transportation Authority (LCTA), which mainly runs through The Minooka section (closest to Luzerne County) and Downtown Scranton by The Mall at Steamtown.

As more of AET's behaviour with Sandown Bay Academy has emerged, Councillor Julia Baker-Smith said that the council was "appalled" at AET's behaviour and Councillor Whitehouse said that AET should be apologising to the parents of the island for letting down their children. Ultimately AET was accused by the Isle of Wight authorities of acting in a high handed "crass" way, treating the island like an annoying pimple on the AET backside, vandalistically trying to close a school which they couldn't improve, "disingenuously" citing dubious financial factors as an excuse to hide their failure and ulterior motives, and in the process levelling the Local Authority with a new, unfunded completely unnecessary and totally unfair £1m a year bill, which would be the cost of bussing all the children to other schools if AET got their way and closed down Sandown Bay Academy. and AET describes itself as "the education provider of choice for students" and as a "trailblazer in education." According to the "Local Schools Network," AET "choice" is looking hollow and trailblazing is looking more like a scorched earth strategy on the Isle of Wight.
