Some mathematical mappings involving a single linear parameter exhibit the apparently random behavior known as chaos when the parameter lies within certain ranges. As the parameter is increased towards this region, the mapping undergoes bifurcations at precise values of the parameter. At first there is one stable point, then bifurcating to an oscillation between two values, then bifurcating again to oscillate between four values and so on. In 1975, Dr. Feigenbaum, using the small HP-65 calculator he had been issued, discovered that the ratio of the difference between the values at which such successive period-doubling bifurcations occur tends to a constant of around 4.6692...A New Kind of Science He was able to provide a mathematical proof of that fact, and he then showed that the same behavior, with the same mathematical constant, would occur within a wide class of mathematical functions, prior to the onset of chaos.

Ammonites belonging to this genus have cadicone shells with depressed, rounded whorl section. Some species have almost sphaeroconic shells and these ones were designated as genus Transicoeloceras, which is considered to be a synonym of Catacoeloceras by some authors, while sometimes it is considered to be a valid genus. Ribs can be both simple or bifurcating. In the case of most of the species, ventrolateral tubercules are present.
A third variant shows the two positions below yttrium as being occupied by the lanthanides and the actinides. A fourth variant shows group 3 bifurcating after Sc-Y, into an La-Ac branch, and an Lu-Lr branch. Chemical and physical arguments have been made in support of lutetium and lawrencium but the majority of authors seem unconvinced. Most working chemists are not aware there is any controversy.
NA-37 (Tank) is a constituency for the National Assembly of Pakistan. The constituency was created in 2018 by bifurcating NA-25 (Dera Ismail Khan-cum- Tank) where Tank district shared its representation with a portion of Dera Ismail Khan District. The current constituency completely comprises Tank District while the Dera Ismail Khan areas of the old constituency are now included in NA-39 (Dera Ismail Khan-II) .
Blanfordiceras is a strongly ribbed, evolute ammonite included in the perisphinctacean family, Neocomitidae that lived during the latest Jurassic. The shell of Blanfordiceras is discoidal, coiled evolutely with all whorls visible so as to have a broad umbilicus. Exposed whorls are ornamented with strong ribbing that arises from the umbilicus, bifurcating on the outer flanks and extending onto the venter. In general form Blanfordiceras is similar to Berriasella, although with a more rounded whorl section.
This leaves the homology of muscle layers unclear, to say the least. Tritonychus is clearly given a place within an 'onchyophoran-like' clade, however, due to skin similarities to other 'onchyophoran-like' lobopodians and to modern onchyophorans. These include bifurcating circumferential wrinkles, papillae mounted on solid bases, and (in parts) hexagonal patterning. This extends the record of these features into the lower Cambrian, along with the multiple layers of peripheral muscle and the possible gonopore.
From Kangchenjunga the Singalila Ridge slopes down southward forming the border between India and Nepal. Manebhanjyang, Sandakphu and Phalut are popular trekking destinations on this ridge. It continues south and south-east through Tunglu and Senchal and other spurs that form the Darjeeling Hills west of the Teesta. To the east of the Teesta, a lofty ridge runs south of Dongkya, bifurcating at Gipmochi , forming two spurs that contain the valley of the Jaldhaka.

The Eriogonum nudum plant is a tall, bare, leafless stem, bifurcating into more stems, each topped with rounded clusters of white or pale pink or yellow flowers growing up to six feet from a basal rosette at the ground, where the flat green leaves are located. An striking characteristic is that flower clusters typically occur at the branch as well as the branch tips. The naked stem gives the plant its common name.
Swiss linguist Ferdinand de Saussure, in search of discovering universal laws of language, formulated a general science of linguistic by bifurcating language into langue, abstract system of language, and parole, utterance or speech. The phonemes, fundamental unit of sound, are the basic structure of a language. The linguistic community gives a social dimension to a language. Moreover, linguistic signs are arbitrary and change only comes with time and not by individual will.
The Wesleyan Methodist Missionaries from England began working since 1879 in the Districts of Hyderabad, Medak, Nizamabad, Karimnagar and Nalgonda. As a result of their mission work churches were established along with Schools and Hospitals. After the formation of Church of South India in the year 1947, Karimnagar and Nalgonda areas from Medak were annexed to the Dornakal Diocese. Diocese of Karimnagar was formed in the year 1978 by bifurcating Dornakal Diocese.
259x259px Reticulate evolution, or network evolution, describes the origination of a lineage through the partial merging of two ancestor lineages, leading to relationships better described by a phylogenetic network than a bifurcating tree. Reticulate patterns can be found in the phylogenetic reconstructions of biodiversity lineages obtained by comparing the characteristics of organisms. Reticulation processes can potentially be convergent and divergent at the same time. Reticulate evolution indicates the lack of independence between two evolutionary lineages.
The first period is a transitional phase characterized by the retention of archaic forms; the second phase starts with the publication of Ali-Shir Nava'i's first Divan and is the highpoint of Chagatai literature, followed by the third phase, which is characterized by two bifurcating developments. One is the preservation of the classical Chagatai language of Nava'i, the other trend is the increasing influence of the dialects of the local spoken languages.
Until 1888 there was only one region of the Fransalians in India: Visakhapatnam Region. In 1888 Nagpur region was created by bifurcating the Visakhapatnam region. Both were raised to the status of province in 1965. The dioceses of Nagpur and Visakhapatnam have always been governed by prelates belonging to this institute. In Visakhapatnam the first vicar apostolic was Mgr Neyret (1850); he was succeeded by Mgr Tissot, first bishop of the diocese.
Prior to 1960, Kallakurichi was considered a village. That year, Kallakurichi became Town Panchayat, then was subsequently upgraded to Special Grade Town Panchayat. On 20 October 2004, it was further upgraded to the Third Grade Municipality. Later, on 7 September 2010, this municipality was upgraded to First Grade Municipality and on 8 January, in the year of 2019, the Kallakurichi is announced as the 33rd District of Tamil Nadu by bifurcating Villupuram.
Pes (foot) of Elessaurus seen in plantar view (i.e. looking towards the sole) Hip and tail vertebrae of Elessaurus seen from above The sacral rib of the second sacral (hip) vertebra bifurcates towards its contact with the ilium. Most of this sacral rib has a broad connection with the ilium, but at its rear it sends a pointed prong backwards. This trait is similar to Macrocnemus but unlike other tanystropheids, many of which do not have bifurcating sacral ribs.
Post British annexure to the Madras presidency, Karur became a taluk headquarters and was the first part of Coimbatore District and later Tiruchirappalli District. A new district was formed on 30 September 1996 by bifurcating Karur, Kulithalai and Manapparai Taluks of Tiruchirappalli district, which comprises the present-day Aravakkurichi, Manmangalam, Pugalur, Karur, Krishnarayapuram, Kulithalai, Musiri, Kadavur and Manapparai Taluks. Later, within a year, Musiri taluk was separated from Kulithalai taluk. Both taluks were reunited with Tiruchirapalli District.
In the Ganges Delta many large rivers come together, both merging and bifurcating in a complicated network of channels. The two largest rivers, the Ganges and Brahmaputra, both split into distributary channels, the largest of which merge with other large rivers before themselves joining the Bay of Bengal. But this current channel pattern was not always the case. Over time the rivers in Ganges Delta have often changed course, sometimes altering the network of channels in significant ways.
Vimala College is a Roman Catholic college in Thrissur City of Kerala state, India. It was established in 1967 after bifurcating St. Mary's College, Thrissur. The college is under the management of the Nirmala Province, Thrissur, of the Congregation of Mother Carmel in the Roman Catholic Church. The college is under the religious jurisdiction of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Archdiocese of Thrissur and is one of the leading educational institutions related to or run by church organizations Jacob, Mani. .
Five more proverties were added to Mukundapuram Taluk afterwards: Kodassery (Chalakudy), Thirumukkulam (Kuzhur)), Koratty(Adur), Pathinettarayalam (Edavilangu) and Malayattur. Tipu Sultan's Army was based at Thazhekkad Proverty of Mukundapuram Taluk on 24 December 1789 to attack the Nedumkotta which is situated in the middle of Kochi Kingdom and was known as Travancore lines and attacked KonurKottavathil in January 1790. When new Chalakudy taluk was formed in 2013 by bifurcating Mukundapuram taluk it lost more than 50% of its territory.
Laelia superbiens, a sympodial orchid. Sympodial growth is type of bifurcating branching pattern where one branch develops more strongly than the other, resulting in the stronger branches forming the primary shoot and the weaker branches appearing laterally. A sympodium, also referred to as a sympode or pseudaxis, is the primary shoot, comprising the stronger branches, formed during sympodial growth. The pattern is similar to dichotomous branching; it is characterized by branching along a stem or hyphae.
The Administrative Office of Thrissur City Police Commissioner is located in Ramavarmapuram. The Thrissur City Police Commissionerate was formed in March 2011 by bifurcating the then existing Thrissur police district into rural and urban. The administrative jurisdiction of the City Police Commissioner covers 12 police stations including a women police station and a traffic station. These stations fall in three subdivisions, namely, Thrissur (comprising Thrissur East, Thrissur West and Ollur circles) and Guruvayur (comprising Peramangalam and Guruvayur circles).
The access line to this was from the western line of the goods yard, and threw off a carriage siding before bifurcating and running into the shed. There was a short spur parallel to the west side of the shed entrance, which was used for major refits in the open air. Next to this was an open-fronted shed. The original shed was a rickety wooden structure with walls of Kentish weatherboarding and a tin roof.
The cystic artery can arise from the left hepatic artery, and in such a case it usually travels through a passage of liver parenchyma, approaching the neck of the gallbladder, before bifurcating into ascending (or superior) and descending (or inferior) branches. This situation is found in roughly 1% of cases. This form of the cystic artery does not pass through the hepatobiliary triangle and has been found located both anteriorly and posteriorly to the common hepatic duct.
South Salmara Mankachar was created by bifurcating Old Dhubri district in 2016. On 15 August 2015 Assam's Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi announced 5 new administrative district in Assam; South Salmara Mankachar was one among those. On 9 February 2016 Commissioner, Lower Assam and Central Assam Division Md. Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, IAS inaugurated South Salmara Mankachar as an administrative district at a function in Hatsingimari with the presence of thousands of people. There are few historical sites in the district.
Orong Gewog (Dzongkha: ཨོ་རོང་) is a gewog (smallest administrative Unit in Bhutan called block) of Samdrup Jongkhar District, Bhutan. It is situated north of Samdrup Jongkhar town. The Gewog is about 45 km from Samdrup Jongkhar with a 12 km Gewog Center (GC) road bifurcating from the national highway at Shekpashing which connects Samdrup Jongkhar and Trashigang District. The Gewog is a collection of many villages mostly located over a gentle slope facing the Arong Mithun Breeding center.
A third described form, often called D. binata f. multifida, has even more leaf divisions, bifurcating several times to produce anywhere from eight to 16 or even 30 terminal leaf points. This, too, was published by J. A. Mazrimas in the same 1976 volume of the Carnivorous Plant Newsletter as var. multifida, referring to the description of a 27-point D. binata found by George Ashley and published in a 1975 volume of the Carnivorous Plant Newsletter.
Leaves of Acer washingtonense are simple in structure and with perfectly actinodromus vein structure and a generally wide elliptic shape. The leaves are shallowly three-lobed, with five primary veins and is wide by an estimated long in overall dimension. A. washingtonense has a simple structure to the teeth that is similar to the Alaskan fossil species A. alaskense and A. douglasense and the modern species A. spicatum. The samaras have distinct bifurcating ridges on the nutlet which are unique to section Torada.
The Ernad taluk existed during British Colonial rule in India and was a part of the Malabar District within the Madras Presidency. In the first decade after Independence, large-scale changes in the territorial jurisdiction of this region took place with the formation of new taluks. On 1 January 1957 Tirur Taluk was formed, by absorbing portions of Eranad and Ponnani taluks. Two more taluks, namely Tirurangadi taluk and Nilambur taluk, were formed later by bifurcating Tirur Taluk and Eranad taluk.
Closeup of cap surface revealing gradual differences in squamule structure and pigmentation progressing from the center of cap (top) to the margin The spores are olivaceous-brown in medium to heavy deposit. They are inamyloid, almond-shaped, contain one or more oil droplets, and measure 17.5–22.2 by 6.4-8 µm. The spore wall is 0.5–1 µm thick, with 12–14 longitudinal ridges. These ridges are less than 1 µm tall, occasionally bifurcating, converging at poles, with minute cross-striae.
Lamellorthoceratidae is a family of fossil orthoceratoids in the Orthocerida, defined by Curt Teichert in 1961. The lamellorthoceratids are placed in the superfamily Orthocerataceae in the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology (Walter Sweet, 1964). Lamellorthoceratids are distinguished by cameral deposits consisting of simple or bifurcating epispetal, or rarely hyposeptal lamellae, set radially with respect to the siphuncle; often filling the entire posterior part of the shell. Lamellorthoceratid shells are straight or slightly endogastric with a slender, cylindrical subcentral orthochoanitic siphuncle, free or organic deposits.
Abdomen scarlet with black spots on dorsal, ventral and two paired lateral series. Forewing with six transverse series of yellow-ringed black spots, each series curved, irregularly disposed and variable as to size and number, the postmedial series bifurcating towards the costa. Hindwings also scarlet with one black spot at end of cell, another spot at origin of vein 2, another spot at its middle, and a submarginal series. There is a few small spots on margin, all these being somewhat variable.
To reduce uncertainty, bipartition analyses typically focus on strongly supported bipartitions such as those associated with branches with bootstrap values or posterior probabilities above certain thresholds. Any gene family found to have one or several conflicting, but strongly supported, bipartitions is considered as an HGT candidate. Quartet decomposition Quartets are trees consisting of four leaves. In bifurcating (fully resolved) trees, each internal branch induces a quartet whose leaves are either subtrees of the original tree or actual leaves of the original tree.
Also, Dadar–Ratnagiri Passenger and Diva–Sindhudurg Passenger also has a halt here. These trains are being utilized completely by the local people but still there is a long pending demand to start Local trains on this route both slow and fast services, for the convenience of the passengers. It'll also facilitate office-goers who goes to SoBo or Mumbai Suburbs on a regular basis. There's a goods train's line bifurcating from main line and goes to a factory in Alibag.
Brachidontes pharaonis is a small bivalve that grows its shell up to 40mm in length. The external surfaces of the shell are dark brownish black while the interior of the shell is purplish-black. The two halves of the shell are equal in size and similar in shape, being elongated and asymmetrical, with a dysodont hinge between the valves. The sculpture of the valves consists of numerous fine radial bifurcating ribs, which become coarser posteriorly and finely scalloped towards the edge.
Ginkgo leaves in summer Ginkgo leaves in autumn The leaves are unique among seed plants, being fan-shaped with veins radiating out into the leaf blade, sometimes bifurcating (splitting), but never anastomosing to form a network. Two veins enter the leaf blade at the base and fork repeatedly in two; this is known as dichotomous venation. The leaves are usually , but sometimes up to long. The old popular name "maidenhair tree" is because the leaves resemble some of the pinnae of the maidenhair fern, Adiantum capillus-veneris.
During Deshmukh's tenure the State Bank of India was formed in 1955 through the nationalisation and amalgamation of the Imperial Bank with several smaller banks. The nationalisation of insurance companies and the formation of the Life Insurance Corporation of India was accomplished by him through the Life Insurance Corporation of India Act, 1956. Deshmukh resigned over the proposal of the Government of India to move a bill in Parliament bifurcating Bombay State into Gujarat and Maharashtra while designating the city of Bombay a Union Territory.
Colonies of P. fungiformis are generally encrusting, and can be across. larger colonies additionally have bifurcating upright or sloping branches which tend to have flattened ends, and which can grow to in length. Irregular verrucae (lumpy skeletal outgrowths) grow on the surface of the coral, and on branches growing at oblique angles, the verrucae are more abundant on the upper side. The individual corallites (stony cups in which the polyps sit) are small and crowded, each having one septum (stony ridge) more developed than the rest.
In a unanimous opinion delivered by Justice Elena Kagan, the Court reversed the Eighth Circuit and remanded to the district court. This applies in all cases involving discrimination issues, whether the cases were decided on merit or procedure. The Court criticized the federal government's argument as "construct[ing] such an obscure path to such a simple result", noting that "it would be hard to dream up a more roundabout way of bifurcating judicial review of the MSPB's rulings in mixed cases".Kloeckner, 568 U.S. at ___, slip op.
Proprioceptive afferents send central axons through the dorsal root of spinal nerve bifurcating into ascending and descending branches, which in turn send branches to multiple spinal segments. Some branches synapse at the dorsal horn and some at the ventral horn (where the motor neurons are) which mediate different responses including stretch reflex. Ascending pathways to the brain have some similarities with the cutaneous afferents, but are different because the proprioceptive information also has to reach the cerebellum which controls the timings of muscle contractions for voluntary movements.
Reconstructing phylogenetic relationships under reticulate evolution requires adapted analytical methods. Reticulate evolution dynamics contradict the neo-Darwininan theory, compiled in the Modern Synthesis, by which the evolution of life occurs through natural selection and is displayed with a bifurcating or ramificating pattern. Frequent hybridisation between species in natural populations challenges the assumption that species have evolved from a common ancestor by simple branching, in which branches are genetically isolated. The study of reticulate evolution is said to have been largely excluded from the modern synthesis.
Usilampatti town lies 28 km south west of Theni town and 38 km west of Madurai city on the NH 49 road. The town has a population of 30601 as per the 2001 census. Physical feature is the Madurai–Bodinayakkanur meter gauge railway line, which runs parallel to the Madurai–Usilampatti road, bifurcating the developed area of the town. The lands which lies in between railway line and Peraiyur road and Battalakundu road, are mostly of wet lands which restrict the development of the town in the southern direction.
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is a distant second at . The land was transferred from Adams County to Denver after a 1989 vote, increasing the city's size by 50 percent and bifurcating the western portion of the neighboring county. As a result, the Adams County cities of Aurora, Brighton, and Commerce City are actually closer to the airport than much of Denver. All freeway traffic accessing the airport from central Denver leaves the city and passes through Aurora for just shy of , making the airport a practical exclave.
The samaras of Acer stonebergae have distinct bifurcating ridges on the nutlet which are unique to section Torada. The overall shape of the samara is ovoid with an average length of up to and a wing width of . The paired samaras for A. stonebergae have a 20-30° attachment angle which is less than the 45° attachment angle seen in A. toradense and A.washingtonense. While very similar in morphology to A. washingtonense and A. toradense the samaras of A. stonebergae are distinguishable from both by its notably larger overall size.
The samaras of Acer toradense have distinct bifurcating ridges on the nutlet which are unique to section Torada. The overall shape of the samara is ovoid with an average length of up to and a wing width of . The paired samaras for A. toradense have a 45° attachment angle and the attachment scar on the nutlet is . While very similar in morphology to A. washingtonense, the two possibly related species can be separated by the coarse reticulum of veins which is found on A. toradense and not A.washingtonense.
Payyappilly Mar Varghese Kathanar during his 82nd death anniversary by handing over a copy of it to his great-nephew Mathai Payyappilly Palakkappilly The Eparchy of Palghat was erected on 20 June 1974, through the Decree "Apostolico Requirente" by Pope Paul VI, bifurcating the eparchy of Trichur and adding into the territory of the new eparchy a few parishes of the eparchy of Tellichery, which were in the district of Palakkad. It was a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam. The eparchy was inaugurated on 8 September 1974. The episcopal ordination of Msgr.
The eparchy of Mananthavady was erected by Pope Paul VI, by the Bull Quanta Gloria of 1 March 1973 bifurcating the vast diocese of Tellicherry. The diocese of Tellicherry and Mananthavady were erected for the migrated peoples from the central Kerala. Population explosion and the shortage of food during the post-war period (1945-1960) induced them to migrate to the uninhabited fertile lands of northern Kerala and to some isolated pockets of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka States. These places were filled with thick forests and under the threat of malaria and other diseases.
The general outline of each Tetragraptus approximatus colony (rhabdosome) is highly distinctive. It resembles a long narrow letter H or X. The central process (the funicle) is about long, each end bifurcating at right angles with each other. Each pair of branches (stipes) curve away sharply from the ends of the funicle then run more or less parallel with each other at a distance of apart. Each of the stipes can reach more than in length, with approximately ten cup-like structures (thecae) for every of the stipes.
Willow Creek, Bonneville County, Idaho, USA Willow Creek is a long tributary of the Snake River in the U.S. state of Idaho. Beginning at an elevation of east of the Blackfoot Mountains in southeastern Bingham County, it flows generally north into Bonneville County and past Bone. South of the town of Ririe, the creek is impounded by Ririe Dam, forming Ririe Reservoir. It then turns southwest, passing between Iona and Ucon, before bifurcating into two distributaries, North Fork Willow Creek and South Fork Willow Creek, at an elevation of .
There are darker golden or grey-brown to blackish markings that usually form a pattern consisting of a mid-dorsal stripe (often bifurcating anteriorly) connected to the interorbital bar, as well as a pair of shorter dorsolateral stripes or blotches. A brown or blackish canthal stripe runs at least to the shoulder region, after which it typically breaks up into a series of large, irregular blotches. The venter is white with faint mottling. The male advertisement call is a quiet "click" that may be accompanied by a low scream or creaking sound.
The genitofemoral nerve typically pierces and passes through the psoas major muscle before bifurcating into a genital branch and a femoral branch midway along its anterior surface. In approximately 25% of cases, the genitofemoral nerve splits into these branches before it enters the psoas major or within the muscle belly of psoas major (with fibers of the psoas major separating the genital and femoral branches). Usually this variation causes the split to be occur earlier in the genitofemoral nerve, at the upper rather than mid-portion of the anterior surface of the psoas major.
Le Mans Cathedral (French: Cathédrale St-Julien du Mans) is a Catholic church situated in Le Mans, France. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Julian of Le Mans, the city's first bishop, who established Christianity in the area around the beginning of the 4th century. Its construction dated from the 6th through the 14th century, and it features many French Gothic elements. The cathedral, which combines a Romanesque nave and a High Gothic choir, is notable for its rich collection of stained glass and the spectacular bifurcating flying buttresses at its eastern end.
A bifurcating concrete stair commences on the two sides of the entrance hall and meets at a landing above the entrance door, proceeding for another flight to the first floor level. At the first floor the stair hall has a painted pressed metal ceiling. Access is provided from the stair hall on this level to the Council Chamber and a large meeting room. As this area was subject to a damaging fire, much of the interior has been refitted, in the case of these rooms with a reconstruction of what was originally built.
Long Lake is a lake formed by the widening of the Englehart River in Timiskaming District of northeastern Ontario, Canada. The lake is a long, narrow lake that runs generally in a straight line from the northwest to the southeast. The lake spans five geographic townships, beginning in the southeast corner of Gross Township, then cutting the southwest corner of Blain Township before diagonally bifurcating Sharpe Township into two nearly equal parts. It then cuts through the northeast corner of Truax Township before entering Robillard Township where it narrows.
Rugoconites is a genus of Ediacaran biota found as fossils in the form of a circular to oval impression preserved in high relief, six or more centimeters in diameter. The fossils are surrounded by frills that have been interpreted (Wade 1972) as sets of tentacles. The bifurcating radial ribs, spreading from a central dome, serve to distinguish this genus from Palaeophragmodictya, and may represent the channels of the gastrovascular system (Fedonkin & Cope 1985). Fossils of Rugoconites have been interpreted as early sponges (Gehling 1996) although this is countered by Sepkoski et al.
Lepidodendrales had tall, thick trunks that rarely branched and were topped with a crown of bifurcating branches bearing clusters of leaves. These leaves were long and narrow, similar to large blades of grass, and were spirally-arranged. The vascular system of the erect trunk was unusual in that it switched its morphological development as the plant grew. The young trunk began as a protostele in which the outer xylem matured first (exarch), but the later and higher portion of the trunk developed as an ectophloic siphonostele in which the xylem was flanked by phloem tissue on both its inner and outer side.
The change in the total number of questions and number of questions per section in cat merely happens, on a broader perspective there are 100 number of questions combining each section. The very first section which is the verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC) contains 34 questions, further bifurcating 24 questions of reading comprehension and 10 questions of verbal ability, then next section is of data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR) which contains 32 questions and the last section is of quantitative ability (QA) which contains 34 questions making it to 100 questions in total. CAT is conducted in two sessions.
Reticulate evolution has played a key role in the evolution of some organisms such as bacteria and flowering plants. However, most methods for studying cladistics have been based on a model of strictly branching cladogeny, without assessing the importance of reticulate evolution. Reticulation at chromosomal, genomic and species levels fails to be modelled by a bifurcating tree. According to Ford Doolittle, an evolutionary and molecular biologist: “Molecular phylogeneticists will have failed to find the “true tree,” not because their methods are inadequate or because they have chosen the wrong genes, but because the history of life cannot properly be represented as a tree”.
It has been claimed that such arguments are proof that, "it is a mistake to break the [periodic] system into sharply delimited blocks". A third common variant shows the two positions below yttrium as being occupied by the lanthanides and the actinides. A fourth variant shows group 3 bifurcating after Sc-Y, into an La-Ac branch, and an Lu-Lr branch. In 1892, before the discovery of lutetium, Henry Bassett considered lanthanum not to be in the same group as scandium and yttrium;Henry Bassett, “A Tabular Expression of the Periodic Relations of the Elements”.
An autonomous American Mission in the US was founded in 1990 and later raised to the Status of a Region under the Superior General on 3 July 2007. The South-West India Province was established in 1991 bifurcating the Visakhapatnam Province. The Visakhapatnam Province was further bifurcated to form the Tamil Nadu - Pondichery region under the Visakhapatnam Province on 24 January 2005. Three years later this region was raised to the status of a Province with a new name, Chennai Province on 24 January 2008 and in the same year on 15 August 2008, it was renamed as South-East Province.
Smithfield moved to bifurcate the issues of its liability for compensatory damages and its liability for punitive damages. This motion was granted on October 24th, 2018 by Senior United States District Judge David A. Faber.Bifurcation decision by Judge David A. Faber (24 October 2018) Research shows that bifurcating trials in this manner creates more uniform verdicts for compensatory damages and decreased the chance of juries awarding extremely high judgments for compensatory damages. Bifurcation also results in lower awards for compensatory damages in cases of involving minor or less severe injuries while resulting in higher awards for in cases where injuries are severe.
The church and the place got its present wealth, roads, means of transportation and primary education facilities through the hands of these reverend priests. After the formation of Diocese of Mananthavady, bifurcating the Diocese of Tellicherry in 1973 May 1, the parish continued its developments under the new diocese and the guidance of its bishop Jacob Thoomkuzhy. Though the church is named after St. George, from 1958 onward, in the Centenary of Mary of Lourde's, the main feast of the church became Mary of Lourde's. After 1968 priests from Diocese of Tellicherry and Mananthavady serve the parish.
In 2010, IASB issued another portion of IFRS 9, primarily covering classification and measurement of financial liabilities and also addressing aspects of applying fair value option and bifurcating embedded derivatives. Certain elements of IFRS 9 as issued were criticized by some key IASB constituents. The model for classifying debt instrument assets permitted only two approaches, fair value with all changes in fair value reported in profit and loss (FVPL), or amortized cost. This represented a significant deviation from FASB decisions, which would also have a category of fair value with certain changes in fair value reported in other comprehensive income (FVOCI).
In geometry, a uniform k21 polytope is a polytope in k + 4 dimensions constructed from the En Coxeter group, and having only regular polytope facets. The family was named by their Coxeter symbol k21 by its bifurcating Coxeter–Dynkin diagram, with a single ring on the end of the k-node sequence. Thorold Gosset discovered this family as a part of his 1900 enumeration of the regular and semiregular polytopes, and so they are sometimes called Gosset's semiregular figures. Gosset named them by their dimension from 5 to 9, for example the 5-ic semiregular figure.
The demand for states to be organised on a linguistic basis was developed even before India achieved independence from British rule. A first-of-its-kind linguistic movement started in 1895, in what is now Odisha. The movement gained momentum in later years with the demand for a separate Orissa Province to be formed by bifurcating the existing Bihar and Orissa Province. Due to the efforts of Madhusudan Das, the Father of Odia nationalism, the movement eventually achieved its objective in 1936, when Orissa Province became the first Indian state (pre-independence) to be organised on the basis of common languages.
The university was first established as Hyderabad Veterinary College in 1946 as a constituent college of Osmania University. It came under the administration of the Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University in 1964 when it was established, and remained so until 2005, when Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University was formed, bifurcating veterinary institutes. In 2014, following the reorganisation of Andhra Pradesh and the formation of Telangana, the Sri P. V. Narasimha Rao Telangana State University for Veterinary, Animal and Fishery Sciences was formed as via an Act of the Government of Telangana. The university was renamed as P. V. Narasimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University.
N. belauensis’ shell is similar to that of N. pompilius, but it is distinguished by its larger mean mature shell diameter and shell weight. Its shell characteristic pattern consists of bifurcating brown to red stripes that extend from the umbilicus to the venter without coalescing across the venter with delicate, longitudinally crenulated ridges that produce a distinctive, concentrically lirate pattern. It can also be distinguished from N. pompilius by its inwardly sloping umbilical walls and evenly rounded umbilical shoulder. The shell is also distinguishable by the presence of longitudinally crenulated shell sculpture, and a broadly triangular central rachidian radular tooth and a lack of umbilical callus.
The river, being sanctified by flowing over the religious sculptures, flows downstream, bifurcating into the Siem Reap River and Puok River, which eventually flows into the Tonlé Sap Lake after passing through the plains and the Angkor temple complex. The archaeological site is in the western part of the Kulein mountains within the Phnom Kulen National Park. Approach is from the Banteay Srei temple by a road which is about from an army camp. Thereafter, it is a 40-minute walk through the forest for about uphill along a path before reaching the first site, a water fall, where the carved sculptures start appearing in the river bed.
The new channel carried "atypical sports" programming with additional coverage from ESPN5 and new sports-related contents which would target a younger, more adventurous audience or the millennials. Selected Radyo5 simulcast programs and other news content were later moved to a new stand-alone satellite Filipino news, One PH on Cignal, effectively bifurcating AksyonTV into two separate channels, with 5 Plus taking over analog channel 41 and digital subchannel channel 5.2 by DWET-TV. Upon the appointment of Jane Basas as president and CEO of TV5 in June 2019, 5's morning sports programming moved to 5 Plus. It included the National Football League and the NCAA (U.S.).
Banumbirr is the Yolngu name for the Morning Star, a subject that appears frequently in Yolngu art of the Dhuwa moiety. According to Yolngu tradition, an old woman conceals the Morning Star in a woven bag during daytime until dawn when the star travels across the sky above Arnhem land, announcing the coming of a new day. The bright light of Banumbirr guided the Djang'kawu Sisters, two ancestral beings who traveled east to west across Arnhem Land, bifurcating the cosmos. The spirits who are said to dance for the Morning Star sing songs that link together the clans who possess and control the knowledge of the Banumbirr tradition.
Cabécar is one of sixteen remaining languages in the Chibchan language family of the Isthmo-Colombian Area, a region of southern Central America (specifically eastern Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama) and northwestern Colombia bifurcating the areas of Mesoamerican and South American linguistic traditions. The extensive geographic distribution of the Chibchan language family has sparked debate among scholars regarding the origin and diffusion of Chibchan languages. Two conceptual models have emerged to describe possible scenarios: the Theory of North Migration and the Centrifugal Expansion Theory. The former postulates Colombia as the historical epicenter from which Chibchan linguistic groups migrated northwestward into present-day Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Honduras.
The digestive organs include an anterior, terminal mouth, a globular to oval pharynx, a simple oesophagus bifurcating posteriorly to the genital pore and a posterior intestine with two branches provided with short lateral branches. Each adult contains male and female reproductive organs. The reproductive organs include an anterior large cup-shaped muscular genital atrium, densely armed with thorn-like spines, a dorsal vagina opening some distance posteriorly to the genital pore, a single tubular ovary shaped like a question mark, vitellaria and 11-21 testes oval or irregular in shape. Eggs are fusiform, with a very long anterior filament and much shorter posterior filament.
Niebla limicola is distinguished by a hemispherical thallus lying loose on soil without a central holdfast (terricolous), divided into variously shaped branches, partly narrow in length and prismatic in cross section, and partly flattened and dilated from which short acicular bifurcating branchlets arise, the thallus up to 10 cm high and 15 cm across. The species (N. limicola) also recognized by containing salazinic acid (without triterpenes), and by a relatively thin cortex, (0-)45–75 µm thick, appearing to erode on dilated parts of branches; the thinner cortex evidently related to the contorted appearance of the branches in addition to the medulla being partly hollow (fistulose). The species (N.
Der große Schritt nach vorne Bayerischer Rundfunk, published: 27 April 2015, accessed: 20 October 2015 The treaty was drafted by Klemens von Metternich who assembled the German partners in the Sixth Coalition. By separating Bavaria from the Confederation of the Rhine, Metternich checked the ambitions of German nationalists such as Baron von Stein, who had been aiming to use the fall of Napoleon to create a pan-German state. Metternich, a conservative Austrian, desired to avoid a pan-German state which would dissolve local sovereignty and engender liberalism, and also desired to avoid the Prussian ambition of bifurcating Germany between Prussia and Austria. The secret articles in the treaty guaranteed full sovereignty to Bavaria under its existing borders.
The digestive organs include an anterior, terminal mouth, a pharynx, a wide oesophagus bifurcating immediately behind the genital pore and a posterior intestine with two lateral branches provided with numerous secondary branches; the left branch extends into the haptor further backward than the right one. Each adult contains male and female reproductive organs. The reproductive organs include an anterior genital atrium , armed with numerous very spines, a medio-dorsal vagina, a single ovary shaped like an interrogation mark and 13-18 testes occupying the whole postovarian intercoecal field. The eggs are fusiform, thick-shelled and tapering into a short blunt-pointed process at one end and a longer pointed process at the other.
Karlstrom was the first to hypothesize, based on the distribution of A. canorus in Yosemite National Park, that glaciers had helped the species differentiate from A. boreas. The idea was that repeated glacial action had helped isolate the species in montane areas, and gradual adaptation there had helped it competitively exclude A. boreas from high elevation terrain. Recent work has showed this is likely true, and part of a larger pattern of glacial action bifurcating the species into new lineages. The species likely originated in the early Pleistocene, and many of the glacial cycles since then have isolated toads into western and eastern refugia; here they have adapted to different climatic conditions, reinforcing the formation of new lineages.
T. rex femur (MOR 1125) from which demineralized matrix and peptides (insets) were obtained In the March 2005 issue of Science, Mary Higby Schweitzer of North Carolina State University and colleagues announced the recovery of soft tissue from the marrow cavity of a fossilized leg bone from a T. rex. The bone had been intentionally, though reluctantly, broken for shipping and then not preserved in the normal manner, specifically because Schweitzer was hoping to test it for soft tissue. Designated as the Museum of the Rockies specimen 1125, or MOR 1125, the dinosaur was previously excavated from the Hell Creek Formation. Flexible, bifurcating blood vessels and fibrous but elastic bone matrix tissue were recognized.
256ff The stone carving is generally of a high quality and is highly decorative, particularly in the naturalistic foliage filling the spandrels of the inner arcades. Seen from the east, the flying buttresses on the outside of the choir present an unusually dense forest of masonry, owing to their unique bifurcating design. Each of the sloping flyers splits in two, presenting a 'Y'-shape in a bird's-eye view, with each arm engaging on a separate upright buttress. Although this design was not taken up elsewhere, it lends an uncharacteristically graceful and delicate feel to the eastern end of the building, especially when seen from the bottom of the hill (at the Place des Huguenots).
Today Tiruvallur is well known, one of the reason being the Veeraragava Temple, where Amavasya (the commencement of dark moon prior to the new moon) is considered an auspicious day for the lord and so for the people of the town. The district of Tiruvallur has been carved out by bifurcating erstwhile Chengalpattu district (which was renamed as Chengalpattu-MGR/Kancheepuram at the time of 1991 Census). According to the said bifurcation Tiruvallur revenue division which included Tiruvallur, Tiruttani taluks and Uthukkottai and Pallipattu sub-taluks separated from Chengalpattu district along with Ponneri and Gummindipoondi taluks of Saidapet revenue division and formed this new district. At present this district comprises 9 taluks, namely Avadi, RK Pet, Ponneri, Gummidipoondi, Uthukottai, Tiruvallur, Poonamallee, Tiruttani, and Pallipattu.
This was undertaken on the recommendation of the All-India Rural Credit Survey Committee although Deshmukh had been opposed to plans for nationalising the bank when he was the RBI Governor. The nationalisation of insurance companies and the formation of the Life Insurance Corporation of India was accomplished by him through the Life Insurance Corporation of India Act, 1956. He resigned over the proposal of the Government of India to move a bill in Parliament bifurcating Bombay State into Gujarat and Maharashtra while designating the City of Bombay a Union Territory. Deshmukh's tenure - during which he delivered six budgets and an interim budget \- is noted for the effective management of the Indian economy and its steady growth which saw the economy recover from the impacts of the events of the 1940s.
On 23 December, keeping in view the reactions of people of other regions, the Government of India announced that no action on Telangana will be taken until a consensus is reached by all parties and groups in the state. Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region MLAs started withdrawing their resignations while MLAs and ministers from Telangana started submitting their resignations, and demanded that the Centre take immediate steps to initiate the process of bifurcating Andhra Pradesh. A Joint Action Committee (also known as JAC or TJAC) comprising political and non-political groups was formed to lead the demand for separate Telangana with Osmania University professor M Kodandaram as its convenor. On 3 February, the government appointed a five-member committee headed by Justice SriKrishna to look into the issue.
Unemployment, poverty, lack of adequate infrastructure, general underdevelopment and the migration of native people from the hills in search of better opportunities ultimately led to the popular demand for the creation of a separate hill state. Following the formation of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal for the purpose of achieving statehood, protests gathered momentum and took a form of widespread statehood movement across the region in 90s. The movement took a violent turn on 2 October 1994, when the Uttar Pradesh Police opened fire on a crowd of demonstrators in Muzaffarnagar, killing a number of people. The statehood activists continued their agitation for the next several years and consequently the state of Uttarakhand was formed as Uttaranchal on 9 November 2000 by the Uttar Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2000, bifurcating the erstwhile state of Uttar Pradesh.
A central entry at ground floor level leads up to a ground floor public space and an elegant bifurcating staircase, whose intermediate landing forms a projecting foyer space protecting the entry below, and is expressed with a generous glass wall overlooking the street. Smaller upper windows on the western elevation are protected by overhanging eaves and those on the ground floor have light horizontal window hoods, those rooms being mainly toilets and ancillary services. A similar projection occurs on the eastern elevation where windows are larger and to a projecting single storeyed wing housing secondary offices, with a separate podium entry from the street. The south elevation continues the pattern of large vertical windows to the upper floor, serving the Court Room and the general office on the ground floor.
In 2015, Bihar's education minister hinted that Magadh University (MU) may be split into two or three universities due to the difficulties faced in managing the colleges of oversized MU. In the month of July of the same year, then vice-chancellor of MU, Mohammad Ishtiyaque decided to strengthen the university's Patna branch office to reduce the student's necessity to visit the university headquarters situated at Bodh Gaya. As a part of the strengthening process, a committee was set up to monitor the expansion and growth of the Patna branch office. On 30 July 2016, Bihar cabinet approved Bihar State Universities (Amendment) Bill 2016 and made way for the creation of Patliputra University by bifurcating the Magadh University. A notice was issued in October 2017 inviting application from candidates for the posts of vice-chancellor and pro-vice-chancellor.
Location of the Petraio, within downtown Naples 300px 300px Pensione Haase, Salita del Petraio 300px The Petraio is a lineal urban neighborhood and pedestrian road in Naples, Italy. It descends from what was once an expansive upper agricultural area (the present day hilltop district of Vomero) and connects adjacent neighborhoods to downtown Naples -- terminating just outside the original perimeter walls of Naples, near the present day Chiaia district. The path arose from an ancient self-formed alluvial channel that followed a natural and narrow watershed -- deposting rocks, stones and pebbles; meandering and bifurcating as it descended. As it became trafficked, inhabited and developed, the path was improved to connect a rustic series of paved stone gradini (steps), discese (descending steps), vici (alleys), largi (widenings), rampe (ramps) and salite (climbs) -- varying in slope and width -- and framed by buildings, churches, and small businesses.
A range of potential revalidation models have been considered, with the Medical Board of Australia recently proposing its preferred approach for further consultation and trial. Most notably, the Medical Board of Australia proposes that revalidation integrate a formal method for proactive identification of potential practitioner competency risk. The Medical Board of Australia proposes to achieve this by bifurcating revalidation into two separate, but related, stages: # The first stage will consist of universally compulsory continuing professional development activities; # These would be ‘nested’ within a second stage, that consists of more vigorous activities that would only apply to select medical practitioners. These more active measures involve external or independent input or oversight and will take on a more summative character testing that the practitioner is not only ‘up to date’ but assessing if they are ‘fit to practise’.
The digestive organs include an anterior, terminal mouth, a muscular rounded pharynx slightly larger than oral sucker, an oesophagus without diverticula and a posterior intestine bifurcating at the level of the copulatory organ in two with two lateral branches; the intestinal branches are provided with diverticula on both sides, terminating at the end of the haptor. Each adult contains male and female reproductive organs. The reproductive organs include an anterior heart-shaped genital atrium, armed with spines, a dorsal vagina which was not observed, a single question mark- shaped ovary, and 14-18 rounded or oval testes which are posterior to the ovary and arranged in two rows. The species can be distinguished from the most closely related species Microcotyle branchiostegi by the muscular cirrus armed with spines that is absent in M. branchiostegi, and by the number of clamps.
He was consecrated on 15 August 2001 at Tirumoolapuram, (Tiruvalla), and assumed the name Isaac Cleemis. The digestive organs include an anterior, terminal mouth, a pharynx, an oesophagus and a posterior intestine with two branches of un equal lengths, provided with numerous bifurcating branches on the inner and outer sides and one of them extends much more backwards into the haptor. Each adult contains male and female reproductive organs. The reproductive organs include an anterior genital atrium provided with numerous conical slightly recurved spines and opening a short distance in front of the hind end of the oesophagus, a dorsal vagina opening behind the front end of the intestine, a single ovary "somewhat like a hastily written capital E", vitellaria extending from near the hind end of the oesophagus to the hind end of the body and 15 large testes which are posterior to the ovary and extends from the hind end of the ovary to a little in front of the posterior end of the vitellaria.
Subrahmanyam long argued for revamping India's national security decision- making apparatus, and was also vociferous in his criticism of several governments' efforts at tinkering with the system.Nation's security hotshots are feeling terribly insecure of each other He was particularly critical of successive Indian governments' lackadaisical approach to long-term strategic planning, and their similar attitudes to the creation of specialised positions and resources. One noted target of such criticism was his civil service batch mate Brajesh Mishra, who served as both National Security Adviser—when that post was created—and Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 1998 to 2004. Subrahmanyam repeatedly called for bifurcating both key posts, in commentary sometimes so strong that it even appeared to precipitate a public spat between the two.Turf war in security – PM’s man set to win This bifurcation of posts was finally done by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in consultation with Subrahmanyam, upon assuming office in 2004.
