In the Review of preparation for Ti, Critchlow and Brewis state that the 10 volt anodize showed better durability results. The 10 volt anodize can produce a columnar and cellular oxide layer with a thickness between 80 and 500 nm. The pores and whiskers produced can be penetrated by selecting a low viscosity adhesive, like a 3M 1838 epoxide resin or an Epo-Tek 301 epoxy. The surface oxide can be compromised if it is subjected to high temperatures, above 300 °C, and humidity prior to bonding.

2004, Waterloo, Canada Located on the shore of Silver Lake, North of Waterloo’s downtown core, sits Perimeter Institute. The design is inspired by theoretical physics - information rich and complex in concepts. A large pool to the north of the institute reflects the cantilevered, three-storey series of zinc-and-glass offices. The anodize aluminium south façade contains an abstract pattern of punched windows and polished stainless-steel mechanical grills, reflecting the enigmatic subject of physics.

A chemical treatment may also be needed to increase the surface energy of the adherent and remove the oxide layer. Aluminum oxide is weakly bonded to the underlying aluminum metal and without removal, the adhesive joint is dramatically weakened. Oxides layers can separate from the metal substrate and is a key principle for adhesive failure theory, Bikerman weak boundary layer. One way to strength the oxide layer and prevent oxide to substrate failure is to anodize the material.

Cheng called the group more of a club than a band. At the finale of each Dark Entry concert, members of various bands that had performed that night would join together on stage and jam and perform under this loosely formed band, often fifteen or more players. Musicians from many talented Hong Kong bands - including Anodize, Zig Zag, Zenith, Fraina and Martyr - have at one time or another lent members to LMF at the Dark Entry concert. Dark Entry lasted a few years before financial problems led to its discontinuation.

In the late nineties, LMF played at various clubs and generated a lot of buzz in the indie music scene. They released their self-titled debut album in 1998 under their own label - A.Room Production ("A Room Studio" is the name of the studio where they recorded the album. It's also the location where Anodize, Screw, and N.T. recorded before they joined LMF). The album features six songs and sold almost 100,000 copies worldwide, an unheard-of feat for a Hong Kong indie band without backing from a major label.

Although it comes in various colors, laser engraving black anodized aluminum provides the best contrast of all colors. Unlike most materials engraving anodize aluminum does not leave any smoke or residue. Spray coatings can be obtained for the specific use of laser engraving metals, these sprays apply a coating that is visible to the laser light which fuses the coating to the substrate where the laser passed over. Typically, these sprays can also be used to engrave other optically invisible or reflective substances such as glass and are available in a variety of colours.

Hip hop can be traced in Hong Kong from the early 1990s with singers such as Sandy Lam and Shirley Kwan. The Hong Kong hip hop (or "Cantohop") scene developed in 1991 with Softhard and in 1999 with the formation of LMF, the first rap/rock group signed by a major record label, Warner Music. The group consisted of ten core members many of whom were also in the bands NT, Screw, and Anodize. Despite the popularity of the now disbanded LMF, which gained mild success in the mainstream, hip hop music remains underground, led by independent artists.

Dan F is highly active in the independent music scene of Hong Kong, with co-production and engineering credits on Ghost Style's M.I.C. and Alias albums, and co- production on former Anodize / Lazy Mutha Fucka member Davy Chan's (陳匡榮) solo album Unbreakable (the first locally produced electronica release for Warner Music Asia). Dan F has also remixed and produced music for local pop artists Josie Ho and Fiona Sit as well as former Beyond frontman, Paul Wong. He remixed James Lavelle's U.N.K.L.E. project on no less than three occasions and is currently collaborating with Lee Burridge.

Hard anodizing can be made between 13 and 150 μm (0.0005" to 0.006") thick. Anodizing thickness increases wear resistance, corrosion resistance, ability to retain lubricants and PTFE coatings, and electrical and thermal insulation. Type III Anodize should not be dyed or sealed to maintain its wear resistance. Sealing will reduce this greatly. Standards for thin (Soft/Standard) sulfuric anodizing are given by MIL-A-8625 Types II and IIB, AMS 2471 (undyed), and AMS 2472 (dyed), BS EN ISO 12373/1 (decorative), BS 3987 (Architectural). Standards for thick sulphuric anodizing are given by MIL-A-8625 Type III, AMS 2469, BS ISO 10074, BS EN 2536 and the obsolete AMS 2468 and DEF STAN 03-26/1.
