It is common almost everywhere on the Eurasian continent, near the sea or inland, at altitudes ranging from 0 to 2,700 m. It grows in open grasslands, wastelands, mainly on acidic or neutral soils. It is also found on the banks and in the alluviums.

Boeil-Bezing (Occitan:Buelh e Vesinc) is a commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in southwestern France. The municipality of Boeil-Bezing arises in 1867 from the meeting of both villages of Boeil and Bezing, situated along the banks of the mountain stream of Pau, on territories rich in alluviums useful for the agriculture.

The Andharmanik River is located in Bangladesh. It is one of the larger coastal rivers of the Ganges-Padma system, and one of the major rivers of Kalapara Upazila in Patuakhali District. In recent years the people of Kalapara have raised their concerns regarding the gradual drying up of the river. From the total length of about , at least of the river have permanently dried out due to the sedimentation and rise of new alluviums.

This limestone plateau contains natural cavities which have been refurbished by man in the form of three or four floors of caves, some of which include antique grain silos. The valley of the Charente is made up of old and new alluvium which provides rich soil for farming and some sandpits. These alluvial deposits were deposited successively during the Quaternary period on the inside of two meanders of the river that are Basseau and Saint-Cybard. The oldest alluviums are on the plain of Basseau and reach a relative height of 25m.

Culwell also began revisiting the few oil paintings done before the war, scraping away at the canvases before painting over them again. This reworking became a major part of Culwell's artistic process for the rest of his life, where he constructed, destroyed, and then reconstructed—before destroying and recreating again. Cows graze at Campo Imperatore beneath the Corno Grande in late summer Campo Imperatore ("Emperor's Field") is a mountain grassland or alpine meadow formed by a high basin shaped plateau located above Gran Sasso massif, the largest plateau of Apennine ridge. Known as "Little Tibet", it is located in Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga National Park, near L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy. Campo Imperatore is a notable cinematographic natural set: the location has been used in more than twenty films, like The American, The Name of the Rose, Krull, Ladyhawke, Red Sonja, Il sole anche di notte, and L'Armata ritorna. Campo Imperatore is a tectonic origin shaped by alluviums and glaciers. The plateau, which is 27 km in length and an average of 8 km in width, lies adjacent to the Apennines' highest peak Corno Grande, and Europe's southernmost glacier, the Calderone; also surrounding the plateau are Monte Prena, Monte Aquila, and the Camicia Mountains to the north and Monte Scindarella, Mesola and Monte Bolza to the south.
