It refers to beaded slippers worn by a nyonya to complete her Sarong Kebaya outfit, together with chained brooches (kerosang) and a silver belt (tali pendeng). The slippers are made of Peranakan cut beads (manek potong), which are treasured as these beads are no longer available. Vintage kasut manek are intricate and finely stitched, a testimony to the fine workmanship of yesteryears. Kallidaikurichi () or Kalladaikurichi is a town on the right bank of the Thamiraparani river in Ambasamudram Taluk of Tirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu, a southern state of India. any Indian rural town, this town too is steeped in tradition and is rich in heritage, but struggling to hold on to its past glories. Risa covers the chest part and the rikutu covers whole of upper half of the body. The slang term 'snake-room' was used to describe a "...room off a saloon, usually two or three steps down, into which a bar-keeper or the bouncer could slide drunk lumber-jacks head first through swinging doors from the bar-room."Snake- room (logging) (from Logger's Words of Yesteryears – Sorden, L.G.; Isabel J. Ebert; Madison, 1956, via wisconsinhistory.net) In the late 19th century, until Prohibition, bouncers also had the unusual role of protecting the saloon's buffet.
