The ironic titles and futuristic overtones, cinematic scale and multiple sightlines suggest a vertigo or lifting off, as if her subjects are no longer on familiar territory. In her work, architectural projections suggest possibilities for the future that are uninhabited and in transition, a poignant parody of a world where progress may outlive its proponents.
On the fourth day of the mission, astronauts McCandless and Stewart performed the first untethered spacewalk, operating the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU) for the first time. McCandless ventured out from the orbiter, while Stewart tested the "work station" foot restraint at the end of the Remote Manipulator System. On the seventh day of the mission, both astronauts performed another EVA to practice capture procedures for the Solar Maximum Mission satellite retrieval and repair operation, which was planned for the next mission, STS-41-C.
PPLT has many benefits in creating BIM or (CAD) models. Entering data directly into a CAD- or BIM-enabled work station allows a user or 'surveyor' to capture and confirm a building's geometry on site. This effectively builds a digital model of a building while it is being measured enabling not only speed but accuracy. Additionally, building in real time can eliminate the need for revisits and also minimizes the need for future interpretation and manipulation of measurements and data by a CAD operator.
WASK-FM changed its positioning statement from mentioning Oldies to "The Super Hits Of The 60s and 70s". WASK-FM currently positions itself as "Lafayette's Listen at Work Station" and carries Indianapolis Colts football. Schurz Communications announced on September 14, 2015 that it would exit broadcasting and sell its television and radio stations, including WASK-FM, to Gray Television for $442.5 million. Though Gray initially intended to keep Schurz' radio stations, on November 2, it announced that Neuhoff Media would acquire WASK-FM and Schurz' other Lafayette radio stations for $8 million.

For the restaurant's employees, the narrator differentiates the characteristics of a potentially good employee and a bad employee through the examples of SpongeBob and Squidward respectively. SpongeBob repeats his question from earlier, to which the narrator replies that he must first know about the acronym "P.O.O.P." (short for "People Order Our Patties") before he can make Krabby Patties. Other matters discussed by the narrator include personal hygiene, the work station, and how to interact with the manager Mr. Krabs, all while SpongeBob impatiently awaits the chance to make a Krabby Patty.
If an immersion suit is not accessible both from a crew member's work station and berth, then two accessible suits must be provided. This type of immersion suit's flotation and thermal protection is usually better than an immersion protection work suit, and if the suit is properly maintained, may extend in- water survival for a person who is trained in its use. An adult immersion suit is often a large bulky one-size-fits-all design meant to fit a wide range of sizes. Two types of materials are used.
A bathroom attendant in Belgium A bathroom attendant's work station A bathroom attendant, restroom attendant, toilet attendant, or washroom attendant, is a cleaner for a public toilet. They maintain and clean the facilities, ensuring that toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and other necessary items are kept stocked. If there is a fee to use the restroom, it is collected by the attendant if there is no coin-operated turnstile or door. Some restroom attendants also provide services to the patrons, and keep good order by preventing drug-taking and fights.
During this time it was not unusual for companies to work their employees for long hours without a break and to pay them minuscule wages. When the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act were finally set in place in 1945, such abuses were outlawed. According to a study, the amount of time people are taking for lunch breaks in the United States is shrinking, thereby making the term "lunch hour" a misnomer. Some employers request the lunch to be taken at their work station or do not offer lunch breaks at all.
The Rusher Hotel, also known as the Great Southern Hotel, is a historic hotel building at 127 West Cedar Street in Brinkley, Arkansas. It was built in 1915 to serve the Brinkley Union Station. It is a three-story brick building, whose main entrance originally faced the railroad, but was reoriented to the street facade after the railroad declined in importance. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, and is a contributing property to the Lick Skillet Railroad Work Station Historic District.

Soon upon her arrival at her new work station, Nassolo took notice of the large number of beautiful young women who flocked to her nightclub on a regular basis. On further inquiry, she found out that the majority were school drop-outs. Nassolo had participated in beauty pageants while in school, and was aware of how empowering that experience felt, and how participation boosted one's self- esteem. Motivated by a desire to help, at least some of the girls, she conceived the idea to start the annual Miss Lira Beauty Pageant.
In one instance, he found his niece Dorothy Graves O'Brien a job at the Edison Lamp Works carrying trays of light bulbs from one work station to another. Morrison was the uncle of western film legend George "Gabby" Hayes, the son of his older sister Elizabeth Morrison and Clark Hayes. Morrison's daughter Georgina was the second wife of William C. Krueger, president of Gottfried Krueger Brewing Company and son of its founder, Gottfried Krueger. Morrison died on October 21, 1943 in his home in East Orange, New Jersey at the age of 76.
In the 2017 Kenyan general election, Oluoch represented the Orange Democratic Movement, and succeeded Wilfred Machage. As a Senator, Oluoch served on multiple committees, including Health; Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries; and National Cohesion, Equal Opportunity and Regional Integration. Lusaka: Senator Ben Oluoch Okello was an extraordinary leader, by Daniel Psirmoi; at The Standard; published June 19, 2018; retrieved April 25, 2020 However, his activity was limited, as he began experiencing health problems shortly after being sworn in, and "spen(t) most of the time in and out of hospital, away from his work station".
The requirement also stipulated the extent to which the technical standards established by national and international organisations can be regarded as "rules of the art". In a directive of 10 November 1970, the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs recommended to the higher authorities for work protection of the "Lander" to bring in the directive published, in agreement with the Ministry of Labour, by the German Engineers' Association on the evaluation of work station noise in relation to loss of hearing, in order to improve safeguards for workers against the noises in question.
One of his co-workers later said that Holmes was unsociable, and once acted strangely at a laboratory work station by staring at a blank wall and not verbally responding, only making a quick glance and smirking, when his co-worker asked if he was okay. In June 2011, Holmes enrolled as a Ph.D. student in neuroscience at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. He received a $21,600 grant from the National Institutes of Health, according to agency records, which was disbursed in installments from July 2011 to June 2012.
The metal is heat-treated, enabling it to have similar ballistics resistance to stainless steel. Tranquility provides six berthing locations with power, data and commanding, thermal and environmental control, and crew access for more attached habitable volumes or for crew transportation vehicles or stowage, or an appropriate combination of all of these. One of the berthing locations is used by the Cupola, which houses a Robotic Work Station inside it to assist in the assembly/maintenance of the ISS, and offers a window for Earth observations. Tranquility was launched with the Cupola attached to its port facing Common Berthing Mechanism (CBM).
On March 5, 2012, the New York Post reported a $50 million lawsuit against Wang for running a sweatshop in Chinatown, Manhattan. The article stated that roughly 30 workers have complained about the labor conditions Wang provides. According to Women's Wear Daily (WWD) the plaintiffs involved in the suit are asking for $50 million per charge, adding up to $450 million for the 9 charges in total. One of the workers, Wenyu Lu claims that he was "hospitalized for several days after he passed out at his work station because he was forced to work 25 hours straight without a break".
Cunliffe redesigned the quality control work station so that it was equally easy to reject or accept a barrel, eliminating the prior bias and saving Guinness money in the process. In 1970 she became Head of Research Unit at the Home Office, before in 1972 being appointed Director of Statistics at the Home Office, a post she held until 1977. She was the first woman to reach this grade in the British Government Statistical Service. During her time at the Home Office she expanded the department's statistical and support staff, and established a dedicated computing team.
In 1987, the DRS Professional Work Station (PWS) was ICL's first foray into IBM PC/AT compatible computing. The DRS PWS was initially released with MS-DOS 4.0 (not to be confused with the later public releases of IBM DOS 4.0 in July 1988 and MS-DOS 4.01 in November 1988). This was a real-mode pre-emptive multitasking version of MS-DOS 2.0 and was also the forerunner of OS/2. It was soon replaced with MS-DOS 4.1 when this became available; this was written especially for the DRS PWS, but was not finished for the launch.
Lale met Gisela "Gita" Furman in July 1942 while tattooing an all-female group of new arrivals: he tattooed Gita. While Heather Morris writes that she was given the number 34902, several news articles have noted that it was in fact 4562. He had used his relatively privileged position to keep her alive by sending her extra food and messages through his personal guard, and having her "moved to a better work station". He was also involved in trading contraband (including jewellery) that was given to him by fellow prisoners, with locals in return for food and provisions.
Since 1980, survival suits have been required aboard ship in each crew member's quarters and at their customary work station with strobe lights affixed to life jackets and survival suits. :3. A LORAN-C positioning system for navigation on the Great Lakes was implemented in 1980 and later replaced with Global Positioning System (GPS) in the 1990s. :4. Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs) are installed on all Great Lakes vessels for immediate and accurate location in event of a disaster. :5. Navigational charts for northeastern Lake Superior were improved for accuracy and greater detail. :6.
They could run either MOS or Olivetti's Unix, X/OS. In 1989 Olivetti introduced the 80486 based next generation of LSX workstations with the LSX 5020 with EISA-Bus, it was shown in CeBit 1989 as "Computing Platform CP486". In 1990, Olivetti had its own distribution network in New Zealand through Essentially Software Ltd.. (owned by Gary McNabb) located at Mt. Eden in Auckland and Wellington, where an Olivetti M300-100 16 MHz PCs with 80386SX CPU were sold for NZ$7395 and used as graphical work station for design houses using Corel Draw as graphical program.
Evans was working at the gardens when they met, and since 1948 Evans had displayed her artwork near her work station. Starr became Evan's representative and publicist for the next 25 years- she arranged and organized Evan's art exhibitions, taped interviews with the artist, she set Evan's art sales prices, and more. In the 1960s, Starr helped launch Evan's career with her first New York City art exhibition. Starr was instrumental in arranging a 1975 solo exhibition of Evan's drawings at the Whitney Museum of American Art, where Starr served as a guest curator, and she helped publish the related exhibition catalogue.
Internal: In 1994 the building underwent internal fabric alterations, however it maintains its original linear floor layout, which from Up end to Down end incorporates a former signal room, combined Station Master's office and booking office, general waiting room, ladies' waiting room and toilets, and men's toilets. Original features include timber panelled doors with multi-paned coloured glass fanlights in the ladies room and work station areas, moulded architraves to all external and internal doors and the ticket window. Light fittings, fans and floor covering including carpet finish in the offices and tiles in the toilets and the waiting room. Plasterboard ceilings are from the upgrade works.
The human eye is a limiting feature of many systems, when the goal of the system is to present data to humans for processing. For example, in a security or air traffic control function, the display and work station must be constructed so that average humans can detect problems and direct corrective measures. Other examples are when a human is using eyes to carry out a critical task such as flying (piloting by visual reference), driving a vehicle, and so forth. The best visual acuity of the human eye at its optical centre (the fovea) is less than 1 arc minute per line pair, reducing rapidly away from the fovea.
SEDIP has implemented Drop Out Reduction Plan and provided us with Science Laboratory; Technology and Home Economics; and, Industrial Arts equipment. V/Line maintains ACZ 257 (now reclassed as BCZ 257 ~ an economy class carriage, with the WCR 2001-era upgraded conductors work station / compartment) now reversed to be at the West End, while still maintaining its Z type interior as modified & refurbished by WCR in there DDA-compliance upgrade of 2001.
They completely reinvented the ill-fated Linn 9000 drum machine and dubbed it the Forat F9000: the first fully functional integrated sampling / sequencing / MIDI work station. They produce software and hardware upgrades and modifications for the Linn 9000, Forat F9000, and the LinnSequencer and modifications, sounds and a MIDI Retrofit Kit for the LinnDrum. In 1987, Forat introduced the F16: the first 16 bit digital sampler tailored for drummers featuring MIDI capabilities, dynamic response to incoming trigger signals and, with a trigger response time of 0.1 milliseconds, the fastest audio-triggering digital sampler ever sold. Over the years, Forat has expanded into other aspects of electronic music technology.
The first example of this at Toyota was the auto-activated loom of Sakichi Toyoda that automatically and immediately stopped the loom if the vertical or lateral threads broke or ran out. For instance rather than waiting until the end of a production line to inspect a finished product, autonomation may be employed at early steps in the process to reduce the amount of work that is added to a defective product. A worker who is self-inspecting their own work, or source- inspecting the work produced immediately before their work station is encouraged to stop the line when a defect is found. This detection is the first step in Jidoka.
On April 18, 1861, the day after Virginia seceded from the Union, the Virginia militia seized Harpers Ferry, an important work station on the rival Baltimore and Ohio Railroad's main westward line and a strategically important connection between Washington, DC and the American West. Under threats of destruction or confiscation from the Governor of Virginia and mayor of nearby Charles Town, B&O; president John Work Garrett asked Cameron to protect the B&O.; Instead, Cameron warned Garrett that passage of any rebel troops over his line would be treason. Cameron agreed to station troops to protect other rail lines, including the Pennsylvania, but flatly refused to help the B&O.
Framework, launched in 1984, was the first office suite to run on the (x86) IBM PC and compatibles with the MS-DOS operating system. ValDocs, an even earlier integrated suite, actually comparable to the original Macintosh of 1984 and Apple Lisa of 1982 was produced by Epson, a complete integrated work station based on the previous Zilog Z80 processor and CP/M operating system with GUI and "WYSIWYG" typography on the monitor and printing. Framework offered all this however in the first all-in-one package to run on any PC platform. It was preceded by a few months by its close rival Lotus Symphony.
In 2016, as part of Singapore's Cybersecurity Strategy, it was announced that internet access of civil servants' work station will be cut-off. David Koh, chief executive of the then-newly formed agency, said officials realised there was too much data to secure and "there is no way to secure this because the attack surface is like a building with a zillion windows, doors, fire escapes". Security experts commented that the move may only raise the defense against cyber attack slightly but risk damaging productivity of civil servants and those working at more than four dozen statutory boards, and cutting them off from the people they serve.
Robert A. Cooley at his work station at Rocky Mountain Laboratories in 1938 Robert Allen Cooley (27 June 1873 - 16 November 1968) was a US entomologist. Born in Deerfield, Massachusetts, he studied at Massachusetts Agricultural College and worked at Montana State College. He was appointed the first state entomologist for Montana in 1903, and worked on Rocky Mountain spotted fever, studying the life cycle of the tick that transmits the Rickettsia bacteria that cause the disease. He also worked on the eradication of the disease and from 1931 until his retirement in 1946 was head entomologist at the Rocky Mountain Laboratory, Hamilton, Montana, where the vaccine was developed.
Shadow Board for tools used in Production floor Shadow board used to store and segregate cleaning utensils in a food factory A shadow board is a device for organizing a set of tools; the board defines where particular tools should be placed when they are not in use. Shadow boards have the outlines of a work station's tools marked on them, allowing operators to identify quickly which tools are in use or missing. The boards are commonly located near the work station where the tools are used. Shadow boards are often used in the manufacturing environment to improve a facility's lean six sigma capabilities.
Paul Frankland started writing music as a teenager, and went on to get a master’s degree in film while also working as a DJ. He first came to attention in the early 1990s when he submitted the track ″Void″ to the Nottingham-based t:me ' recording company. The track was included on the first release by t:me’s new downtempo label Em:t, a compilation album titled em:t 0094, which led to Woob signing with the label. Woob's first full length album, Woob 1194, was released by Em:t in 1994 and was immediately regarded as a milestone in ambient music. Production involved an Atari ST work station, Akai s950 sampler and a Gem s2 synthesizer.
"So much has been lost to the world in dismissing the gifts of, and the voices of, women. I wanted to be a part of discovering and bringing that voice to the fore and making sure it would never again be lost or silenced .... My work is a lot about getting people to find beauty in places they might have overlooked or dismissed, just as women's lives have been overlooked and dismissed." Dennis's first subway work, 'Station Hotel', 1973-4 was included with the hotel works. Dennis recalls being on a subway platform when she noticed a door, For Dennis, descending into the subway opened up an underground world of travel, infinite possibilities, and unknown, distant destinations.
The station went through several slogan changes during its tenure with the AC format, including My Music at Work, which inspired the title of The Tragically Hip's 2000 album Music At Work. (It also had a modified version of that slogan, Toronto's Music @ Work.) In later years, the station had other taglines such as Toronto's Soft Rock Favourites, Today's Soft Rock with Less Talk, A Better Variety of Yesterday and Today, and Toronto's At Work Station. The station had never really broken through using the Telemedia philosophies and product design/marketing between 1995 and 2000. It had one good ratings period in the Fall of 1998, and then fell back to its previous levels.
Chorus Then on to Nanango, that hard-bitten township Where the out-of-work station-hands sit in the dust, Where the shearers get shorn by old Tim, the contractor Oh, I wouldn't go near there, but I flaming well must! Chorus The girls of Toomancie they look so entrancing Like bawling young heifers they're out for their fun With the waltz and the polka and all kinds of dancing To the rackety old banjo of Bob Anderson. Chorus Then fill up your glasses, and drink to the lasses, We'll drink this town dry, then farewell to them all And when we've got back to the Augathella Station, We hope you'll come by there and pay us a call.
Saturation diving allows professional divers to live and work at pressures greater than 50 msw (160 fsw) for days or weeks at a time, though lower pressures have been used for scientific work from underwater habitats. This type of diving allows for greater economy of work and enhanced safety for the divers. After working in the water, they rest and live in a dry pressurized habitat on or connected to a diving support vessel, oil platform or other floating work station, at approximately the same pressure as the work depth. The diving team is compressed to the working pressure only once, at the beginning of the work period, and decompressed to surface pressure once, after the entire work period of days or weeks.
SDS-NET was based on a Model 430 and written by Sam Keys, of Westchester, California. The SDS 430 Server offered file and printer sharing services over SDS-NET or using a modem and was based upon a 10 MB hard disk manufactured by Micropolis of Chatsworth, California. SDS Offered other models, including the SDS-410, a diskless work station that booted and ran off the SDS-NET or optionally could boot off-of and run over a 1200 bit/s modem link. Products offered were: Word (word processing, written by John McCully, formerly of Jacquard Systems, Manhattan Beach, California), and fully functional accounting software: balance-forward and open-item accounting with General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll (written by Tom Davies and Sandra Mass, both formerly with Jacquard Systems).
He is currently a consultant for a number of multinational companies advising on various aspects of multisensory design. He has also conducted research on human-computer interaction issues on the Crew Work Station on the European Space Shuttle, and currently works on problems associated with the design of foods that maximally stimulate the senses, and with the effect of the indoor environment on mood, well-being, and performance. Charles has published more than 500 articles in top-flight scientific journals over the last decade. Charles has been awarded the 10th Experimental Psychology Society Prize, the British Psychology Society: Cognitive Section Award, the Paul Bertelson Award, recognizing him as the young European Cognitive Psychologist of the Year, and, most recently, the prestigious Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany.
Further learning the recordings were shot by a camera in London, Karan decides to go undercover along with Bhavana Reddy, who assisted him on his previous mission. The laboratory module was divided into two sections, but there was no partition between the two, and the crew could move freely between them. They were both octagonal in shape, with eight bays. In the "upper" half (as it would have been on the launch pad), Bays 1 and 8 contained storage compartments; Bay 2, the environmental control system; Bay 3, the hygiene/waste compartment; Bay 4, the biochemical test console and work station; Bays 5 and 6, the airlock; and Bay 7, a glovebox for handling liquids; below that a secondary food console. In the "lower" , Bay 1 contained a motion chair that measured the mass of the crew; Bay 2, two performance test panels; Bay 3, the environmental control system controls; Bay 4, a physiology test console; Bay 5, an exercise device; Bay 6, two emergency oxygen masks; Bay 7, a view port and instrument panel; and Bay 8, the main spacecraft control station.
Data's officer's quarters is unique in that it does not contain a bathing facility or bathroom, instead containing a work station with seats, eventually becoming also occupied by Spot, Data's cat. Data is vulnerable to technological hazards such as computer viruses, certain levels of energy discharges, ship malfunctions (when connected to the Enterprise main computer for experiments), and shutdowns whether through remote control shutdown devices or through use of his "off switch", located on his lower back near where a human kidney would be. Besides Data, very few members of the Enterprise crew are aware of this switch's existence for reasons of security, including Captain Picard, Commander Riker and Chief Engineer La Forge. Dr. Crusher, who is bound by her Hippocratic Oath forbidding her from divulging this to anyone without Data's express permission, was the first member of the crew to be made aware of its existence in the first-season episode "Datalore".
In September 1971, an ordinance was published concerning dangerous working materials; safeguarding persons using these materials against the dangers involved. By a decree of the Federal Minister for Labour and Social Order, the Federal Institute for Industrial Protection became the Federal Agency for Industrial Protection and Accident Research. Amongst its designated tasks included the promotion of industrial protection, accident prevention on the journey to and from work and accident prevention in the home and leisure activities, the encouragement of training and advanced training in the area of industrial protection, and to promote and coordinate accident research. A regulation was issued in 1972 which permitted for the first time the employment of women as drivers of trams, omnibuses and lorries, while further regulations laid down new provisions for lifts and work with compressed air.
