Michael Haydn's Symphony No. 2 in C major, Perger 2, Sherman 2, MH 37, was written in Oradea in 1761. Scored for 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, 2 trumpets and strings and continuo, in four movements: #Allegro #Andante, in F major #Menuetto e Trio #Presto The first movement begins almost like a concerto grosso, but is in fact in a proto-sonata form (with the very brief development carried almost entirely by the violins without accompaniment). The exposition has a repeat, and the development and recapitulation are also marked off by a repeat (which is not always observed). The slow movement is written for strings only, but the continuo is generally understood to continue through; the violas rather than the second violins double the first violins at the octave (Delarte, 2006).

Louis Fuzelier and Jean- Philippe Rameau, Les indes galantes (1735–36) Some of Telemann's later music and of Bach's sons, Johann Joachim Quantz, Johann Adolph Hasse, Giovanni Battista Sammartini, Giuseppe Tartini, Baldassare Galuppi, Johann Stamitz, Domenico Alberti, and early Mozart are exemplars of galant style. Some of the works of the Portuguese composer Carlos Seixas are firmly in the galant style. This simplified style was melody-driven, not constructed, as so much classical music was to be, on rhythmic or melodic motifs: "It is indicative that Haydn, even in his old age, is reported to have said, 'If you want to know whether a melody is really beautiful, sing it without accompaniment'" . This simplification also extended to harmonic rhythm, which is generally slower in galant music than is the case in the earlier baroque style, thus making lavish melodic ornamentation and nuances of secondary harmonic colorings more important .

Raivaru is a type of Maldivian traditional singing, where letters are swapped to be sung in a certain melody without accompaniment. With the development of the Maldivian culture and the introduction of the ground rules of reading and writing (Adhabiyaath) and the improvement of the Dhivehi language, raivaru transformed from a simple to a very developed art and part of the Maldivian syllabus for learning of Dhivehi as a first language. With the newly made rules of raivaru some basic rules were made on how the letters in a raivaru were arranged. Thus came into existence two main types of raivaru, first raivaru with six lines of words, the lines in a raivaru are called as "bas" so a raivaru with six lines or six sentences was called a "Ha bahuge raivaru" and the raivaru with three lines or three sentences was called as "Thin bahuge raivaru".

The Merry Maidens The local myth about the creation of the stones suggests that nineteen maidens were turned into stone as punishment for dancing on a Sunday. (Dans Maen translates as Stone Dance.) The Pipers, two megaliths some distance north-east of the circle, are said to be the petrified remains of the musicians who played for the dancers. A more detailed story explains why the Pipers are so far from the Maidens – apparently the two pipers heard the church clock in St Buryan strike midnight, realised they were breaking the Sabbath, and started to run up the hill away from the maidens who carried on dancing without accompaniment. These petrification legends are often associated with stone circles, as is reflected in the folk names of some of the nearby sites, for example, the Tregeseal Dancing Stones, the Nine Maidens of Boskednan, as well as the more distant Hurlers and Pipers on Bodmin Moor.

Being one of AC/DC's most popular songs, "Let There Be Rock" has been included on four of the band's six official live albums: If You Want Blood You've Got It (sung by Bon Scott, 1978), Live: 2 CD Collector's Edition (sung by Scott's replacement Brian Johnson, 1992), Let There Be Rock: The Movie (Scott, 1979), released in 1997 as part of the Bonfire box set, Stiff Upper Lip Tour Edition (Johnson, 2001), recorded from Plaza De Toros in Madrid from 1996, and Live At River Plate (Johnson, 2012), with the last recorded during AC/DC's Black Ice World Tour at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires on 4 December 2009. Live performances of the song often go into a section not included on the studio version, with Angus Young performing an extended solo without accompaniment. It is the final song played in Let There Be Rock: The Movie and at the immediate conclusion the words "To Bon" appear on the screen. On recent tours, the song has concluded the regular set before the band reappears for encores.
