The main objective of this effort was not to completely change the original 1998 M&S; glossary, but rather to update and upgrade it. The authors decided to err on the side of keeping the glossary inclusive of information rather than exclusive when it came to the addition of new terms and acronyms, while still maintaining a sense of readability. To that end the authors reached out to the research and academic communities for references and materials used in their M&S; pursuits. The result was a comprehensive bibliography and description of terms at a general level, with the aim that for those interested, more detailed information could be found in the reference.

In Hanoi on November 20, 2012, the Vietnam Aerospace Association (VASA) and Unmanned Group from Sweden signed an agreement on the cooperation in manufacturing unmanned aircraft (UAV), called the Magic eye 01. The agreement is worked out in 3 phases, if all goes to plan Vietnam will become the latest of countries (around 40) to use UAV's. Under phase 1 of the agreement, the Unmanned Group will transfer their entire manufacturing technologies for the Magic eye 01 (including the intellectual property rights) to Vietnam with the aim that Vietnam will be able to build two working Magic Eye 01's and in the future be the manufacturer and exporter for this aircraft.

Lady Margaret Hall is the only Oxford college to offer a foundation year; the scheme recruits students from minority and underrepresented backgrounds, and offers successful applicants lower grade requirements than the standard Oxford entry grades.
