Camelot made his first appearance in a maiden race at Leopardstown on 14 July 2011. Starting at odds of 1/3, he was restrained in the early stages by Joseph O'Brien (his trainer's son) before taking the lead in the final furlong and winning "easily" by two lengths from All Approved. Despite the modest nature of the race, Camelot was immediately made favourite for the following year's Epsom Derby. He was then moved directly into Group One class as he made his next appearance in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster, where he went off the odds on favourite.
On his only appearance as a two-year-old in 1972, Ragstone finished sixth in a minor race over six furlongs at Windsor Racecourse. He did not reappear in the following year until August when he contested a maiden race over one and a half miles at Newbury Racecourse. He won from William Pitt and Admetus, a gelding who went on to win the Washington D.C. International. Ragstone won a minor race over a similar distance at Windsor at odds of 1/4 and then moved up in distance to take a race over fifteen furlongs at Ayr Racecourse, again starting favourite and winning easily.
The game didn't start out like it would finish—opponent Bucknell University started out with a 6–2 lead before the Mountaineers ran off 12 straight points to take a large lead. West Virginia ended up winning easily, 72–30, leading to Carey's 212th win at West Virginia, and his 500th career victory, after 228 wins at Salem. Carey's team achieved their biggest win in basketball history on February 12, 2011, when they beat Notre Dame at Notre Dame 65–53. Notre Dame had only a single loss prior to the win, and was ranked # 2 in the nation, by both the AP and ESPN Coaches poll.
He returned to racing against horses of his own age, starting the 8/15 favourite of a field of ten runners for the six-furlong Middle Park Plate at Newmarket. As the field neared the finish, Orme was travelling the best, and as soon as Barrett let him go, he immediately took the lead. El Diablo tried to close, but could not get to Orme, with the latter winning easily by a couple of lengths, Gantlet being a neck back from El Diablo in third. Orme then started in the Dewhurst Plate, but his presence deterred many owners from entering and he faced only two rivals.
In the first round in Miami, they met again, with the Dolphins winning easily. In the second round against San Diego, the Dolphins got revenge for their loss the previous year, winning even more handily. After shutting out the New York Jets in the AFC Championship 14–0 behind three interceptions by A. J. Duhe, they lost Super Bowl XVII to the Washington Redskins, 27–17. After enjoying success rooted in a defense-first philosophy, and employing a ball control offense to take pressure off of lackluster quarterbacks, the next 17 seasons would be marked by an average rushing game and defense that limited a great quarterback.
French Holly began his racing career competing in National Hunt Flat races, also known as "bumpers" making his debut at Uttoxeter Racecourse on 16 February 1996. Ridden by Paul Carberry he started the 5/4 favourite in a field of fifteen runners and won "comfortably" by four lengths after taking the lead in the final quarter mile. In the following month he was even more impressive at Newbury Racecourse, winning easily by thirteen lengths after taking the lead three furlongs from the finish. In April he was sent to Ireland and moved up in class as he contested the Grade I Jack White Memorial Flat Race at the Punchestown Festival.
Before Isinglass ever raced, McCalmont had great belief in his abilities, and wagered £100 on him to win the 1893 Derby at odds of 50/1. Isinglass was undefeated in three races as two-year-old in 1892, beginning with a maiden race at Newmarket in spring. At Royal Ascot on 16 June he ran in the five furlong New Stakes, the race now known as the Norfolk Stakes, in which he was ridden by George Chaloner. Starting at odds of 100/30 he took an early lead and was never seriously challenged, winning easily by two lengths from Fealar, Ravensbury and seven others.
In 2010, she was challenged in the Republican primary by Art Argenio and Bradley Ward, who hammered Mayfield for being insufficiently conservative, despite the fact that she voted "consistently with the GOP majority." Mayfield ended defeating both of them handily, winning 52% of the vote to Argenio's 34% and Ward's 15%, and in the general election, she only faced write-in opposition, winning easily. In 2012, when state legislative districts were redrawn, Mayfield was moved into the 54th District, which included much of the territory that she had previously represented in the 80th District. She won both the primary and general election entirely unopposed.
Atkinson had been returned unopposed at the 1931 general election, when the local Liberals decided not to field a candidate as both parties were supporting the National Government. Prior to that, Altrincham had regularly changed hands between the Conservatives and the Liberals. The contests were close apart from those occasions when a Labour candidate stood, resulting in the Conservatives winning easily, such as at the last contested election in 1929; Altrincham was a constituency with an electorate that was growing quickly; between 1929 and 1931, over 6,000 additional people had been added to the register and in the two years since 1931 a further 2,000 had been added.
In the first round the St Leger and Easter Cup champion Abbeylara justified his ante-post favourite tag by winning easily but then lost in round two beaten by The Grove trained by Mick Horan. In the semi-finals Abbeylara got back to winning ways beating Manozzi in 30.33. Brave Leader won heat two from Lemon Picker and the third and final semi went to Bread Sweeper beat Dark Wife but the latter was disqualified for fighting and his place was taken by the third-place finisher Clountabonive Queen. In the final Abbeylara controlled the race leading all the way and stretching his lead to win by eight lengths.
During the campaign, Macdonald suffered another blow when the Quebec provincial Liberals were able to form a government (four months after the October 1886 Quebec election), forcing the Conservatives from power in Quebec City. Nevertheless, Macdonald and his cabinet campaigned hard in the winter election, with Tupper (the new High Commissioner to London) postponing his departure to try to bolster Conservative hopes in Nova Scotia. The Liberal leader, Edward Blake, ran an uninspiring campaign, and the Conservatives were returned nationally with a majority of 35, winning easily in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Manitoba. The Tories even took a narrow majority of Quebec's seats despite resentment over Riel's hanging.
Elliott's first match of importance was against George Tarryer, of Bermondsey, which he won easily. Having beaten so good a man as the Thames sculler, who is credited with having rowed from Putney aqueduct to the Ship at Mortlake in the fastest time on record, his friends became jubilant, consequently they soon cast about for a fresh opponent, and on the Tyne, Robert Bagnall, of the Ouseburn, and William Nicholson went down before him. On 4 March 1878, Elliott again competed for the champion cup and £200 on the Tyne course, 3 miles 713 yards straightaway, his opponent being William Nicholson. Elliott rowed a grand race, rowing in high wind and rough water, and winning easily.

In the 2000 Guineas on 29 April he started 6/4 favourite in a field of eleven runners, with Sermon on 6/1 and Flotsam on 7/1. Ridden by the American jockey Skeets Martin he tracked Flotsam in the early stages before moving into the lead just after half way and winning easily by one and a half lengths from Flotsam, with Rabelais third. The Sportsman magazine noted that Rock Sand was a rather lazy colt who "does not gallop until he is compelled to". Danny Maher ca. 1900.

Fellow Republican John Payne took his place on the November ballot, winning easily.
Some commentators, however, felt that the falls of several leading contenders, including Kauto Star, meant that Newmill was a rather lucky winner. On 25 April, Newmill started the 5/4 favourite for the Grade I Kerrygold Champion Chase at the Punchestown Festival. He led from the start, and despite several jumping errors he was never seriously challenged, winning easily by fifteen lengths from Fota Island, with Mariah Rollins finishing fifth of the six runners. Immediately after the race Murphy suggested that the gelding might be moved up in distance in the next season saying; "We'll play it by ear but we may step him up in trip next season and he could well go to the King George".
The 1976 National League Championship Series faced off the Cincinnati Reds (known for their nickname at the time, The Big Red Machine) and the Philadelphia Phillies. Stars of the series for the Reds included batters Johnny Bench (4 for 12, HR), Dave Concepción (4 runs scored), George Foster (2 H, both home runs), Ken Griffey (5 for 13, triple), Pete Rose (6 for 14, 2 RBIs, 3 runs scored), and pitchers Don Gullett (win, 8 IP, 2 hits), Pedro Borbón ( IP, 0.00 ERA), and Pat Zachry (win, 5 IP, 3 SO).
When Cicero was withdrawn with a leg injury, and Val d'Or was prevented from crossing the English Channel from France by rough weather, Cherry Lass was made 6/4 favourite for the final classic at Doncaster on 13 September. The result of the race was a major upset, with the outsider Challacombe winning easily by three lengths from Polymelus in record time. Cherry Lass led the race in the straight but dropped back in the closing stages to finish third, and ending her bid for the Fillies Triple Crown in British horse-racing. In October, Cherry Lass contested the Newmarket Oaks, in which she conceded nine pounds to the Park Hill Stakes winner Adula.
Later that month he was sent to France for the Prix Robert Papin over 1100 metres at Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse and came home third of the nine runners behind Philippi. Walter Swinburn took over the ride when the colt was sent to Ireland to contest the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes over six furlongs at Phoenix Park Racecourse on 7 August. The French filly Tersa (winner of the Prix du Bois) started favourite ahead of Heather Seeker (Curragh Stakes) and Gloriella (Queen Mary Stakes) with Superpower next in the betting on 6/1. The colt started quickly, took the lead in the opening strides and was never headed, winning "easily" by three lengths from Run To Jenny.
Primo Valentino was ridden in his first three starts by Pat Eddery. He made his racecourse debut in a race over five furlongs at Windsor Racecourse on 17 May in which he started the 5/4 favourite and finished second, beaten one and a quarter lengths by Barringer. Two weeks later the colt was stepped up in class for the Listed National Stakes at Sandown Park Racecourse and finished fourth of the seven runners behind the Mick Channon- trained Rowaasi. He was then dropped back in class for a maiden race on 12 June at Leicester Racecourse and recorded his first success, leading from the start and winning easily by six lengths from Breathless Dreams.
Leading Light was made the odds-on favourite whilst the other contenders included Royal Diamond, Encke, Pale Mimosa (Lonsdale Cup) Willing Foe (Aston Park Stakes) and Pallasator. Racing on good to firm ground Brown Panther settled in second place behind Leading Light's pacemaker Eye of the Storm as the pair drew many lengths clear of the field. He took the lead two furlongs out and quickly went clear, winning easily by six and a half lengths from Leading Light, with Encke a head away in third. There was some criticism of the other jockeys in the race, who were seen as having allowed Brown Panther to get too far ahead before the race began in earnest.
Pommern showed little form in his first two races, finishing unplaced in races at Royal Ascot in June and at Newmarket's July meeting. He showed much improved form in the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood later in July, winning easily by two lengths from nine opponents. In October he ran in the £3,000 Imperial Produce Stakes at Kempton in which he was set to receive eight pounds from King Priam, who up till that time had been regarded as the best two-year-old of the season. Pommern dominated the race, leading from the start and pulling clear inside the final furlong to win by four lengths from King Priam with Follow Up third.
Diamond Shoal began his third season in the John Porter Stakes over one and a half miles at Newbury in April and recorded his first success as he won decisively by three lengths from Little Wolf. In the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket two weeks later he was held up for a late run but was never able to reach the leaders and finished fifth behind Electric. In May he was sent to France for the first time and was ridden by Cash Asmussen in the Grand Prix d'Evry. Starting favourite he tracked the leaders before winning easily by one and a half lengths although he caused some alarm after passing the post when he swerved violently to the right.
Conceding at least twelve pounds to his opponents, Tristan won his eighth successive race by taking the lead at half way and winning easily from the two-year-old Royal Stag with Nellie third. In the Goodwood Cup on 27 July Tristan started at odds of 1/4 against two moderate opponents, but his winning streak came to an end after his jockey, George Fordham, misjudged the race tactics and allowed a horse named Friday to build up a huge lead which he was unable to make up in the straight. In August he was sent to France again and won the Grand Prix de Deauville from ten opponents. On 12 October he contested the Champion Stakes over ten furlongs at Newmarket.
As part of the course had been ploughed up for wartime agricultural use the race was run over three miles, a quarter of a mile shorter than usual. Ridden by Evan Williams, the favourite was restrained in the early stages before taking the lead and never looked in any danger of defeat, winning easily by ten lengths from the outsider Black Hawk with the 1937 Grand National winner Royal Mail taking third at odds of 100/1. In his next start Roman Hackle finished third in the Lancashire Chase at Manchester Racecourse. Roman Hackle showed inconsistent form in the early part of the 1940/41 National Hunt season but appeared to have returned to something like his best when winning at Plumpton Racecourse in early March.
Over the northern winter Ingall competed in the New Zealand Dunlop Formula Ford series, winning easily with 10 victories from 12 races. Ingall made history in 1993 returning to the United Kingdom to drive for the factory Van Diemen team to win 13 out of the 16 races in the British Formula Ford Championship and in the process recording the highest number of wins in a single season in the history of Formula Ford. The season was finished off by winning one of the most prestigious single-seater events – the Formula Ford Festival and World Cup at Brands Hatch in Britain. Ingall was never able to live up to his full potential in Europe due to a lack of funding and later returned to Australia.

In August he started odds-on favourite for the Rous Memorial Stakes at Goodwood Racecourse but was beaten one and a half lengths by the filly Integrity, to whom he was conceding six pounds in weight. Later in the month he contested the Prince of Wales's Stakes at York Racecourse and finished third behind the fillies Marwell and Welshwyn. In the Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury Racecourse in September he led for most of the way before being overtaken a furlong out and was beaten one and a half lengths by Sweet Monday.
Koko was sent to England in the early part of 1926 with the Cheltenham Gold Cup as his objective but jumped poorly in his prep race at Sandown Park Racecourse. At Cheltenham on 9 March he was ridden by Tim Hamey and started a 10/1 outsider in an eight-runner field for the third running of the Gold Cup. Ruddyglow started the 6/5 favourite whilst the other runners included Old Tay Bridge (runner-up in the 1925 Grand National) and Gerald L (third in the 1924 Gold Cup). Hamey allowed the gelding to set the pace from the start and Koko was never in any danger of defeat, winning easily by four lengths from Old Tay Bridge, with Ruddyglow five lengths back in third place.
Before he appeared on a racecourse, Giacometti had built up a formidable reputation, and was reportedly regarded by Price as the best horse he had ever trained. He made his debut in the Mountfield Plate, a maiden race over six furlongs at Lingfield Park in June and started at odds of 4/6 in a fourteen- runner field. He led from the start and was never challenged, winning easily by a margin officially given as twelve lengths although the photo finish strip suggested that he had won by sixteen. The colt was then moved up in class for the Group Two Gimcrack Stakes over six furlongs at York Racecourse in August and started 11/10 favourite ahead of Dragonara Palace, the winner of the July Stakes and Richmond Stakes.
At Tadnor's Point (Tattenham Corner, a sharp turn in the track) Caterpillar took the lead from Smolensko, but one hundred yards from the finish, Smolensko, under jockey Goodisson's command, "shot past Caterpillar like lightning, winning easily by a length." The excitement of Smolensko's Derby win led to a few accidents in the crowd with commentary in Sporting Magazine reporting that, "Many falls took place, some few persons were run over, and of consequence a few accidents occurred." In the most serious occurrence, "a phaeton was unfortunately overthrown, and a lady who was in it much injured, and a gentleman who endeavoured to prevent the accident, had his arm broken." At Egham on 25 August, Smolensko won the 175-guinea Magna Charta Stakes from the Duke of York's colt Eurus.
Cliffs of Moher made his racecourse debut in a seven furlong maiden race at Cork Racecourse on 15 October in which he was ridden by his trainer's son Donnacha O'Brien. Starting at odds of 4/1 in a fourteen-runner field he kept on well in the closing stages without ever looking likely to win and came home fifth, more than nine lengths behind the winner Spanish Tenor. Two weeks later in a similar event at Leopardstown Racecourse the colt was ridden by Seamie Heffernan and started 7/2 third choice in the betting behind his stablemate Orderofthegarter. Despite sweating up before the race he went to the front soon after the start and was never headed thereafter, winning "easily" by five and a half lengths from Orderofthegarter.
In the spring and early summer of 1961-62 Cardigan Bay continued a winning sequence begun late the previous season before his sale to the Deans. He won the New Zealand Free For All at Addington during a grandstand fire and won the Auckland Pacing Cup which was his 10th consecutive win, equalling the New Zealand record before finishing fifth to Samantha in the Champion Hcp during the Auckland Cup carnival. He then travelled to Australia to compete in the Inter Dominion Championships at Gloucester Park, Perth, Western Australia. After winning easily on the first and second nights of the Championships Cardigan Bay was to meet James Scott, the only horse handicapped behind him in the series and also an impressive winner on the first two nights, on night three.
On his next appearance Longboat was made the 1/3 favourite for the Goodwood Cup, which was then run over a distance of two miles and five furlongs. Carson sent him into the lead soon after the start and he was never in any danger of defeat, winning easily by ten lengths from Spicy Story, who was in turn well clear of the remainder of the field. In September Longboat attempted to complete the "Stayers' Triple Crown" in the Doncaster Cup in which he was expected to be challenged by the six-year-old gelding Valuable Witness in an "eagerly awaited clash" of the country's two best stayers. When Valuable Witness was withdrawn on the day of the race Longboat started at odds of 1/5 against three opponents.
Anti-Poll Tax riots in London, March 1990. Opposition within the Conservative Party to Margaret Thatcher had been brewing for some time, focusing on what was seen as her brusque, imperious style and the Poll Tax, which was facing serious opposition across the country. In December 1989 she had survived a leadership bid by Anthony Meyer; though winning easily, 60 MPs had voted for Meyer, and it was rumoured that many more had to be strong-armed into supporting her. By early 1990 it was clear that bills for many under the new Poll Tax regime would be higher than anticipated, and opposition to the Tax grew, with a non-payment campaign gaining much support and an anti-Poll Tax demonstration in Trafalgar Square in March ending in rioting.
6th Duke of Portland, Donovan's owner and breeder Donovan appeared in the first week of the flat season to win the Brocklesby Stakes at Lincoln Racecourse "a bit cleverly" by two lengths from the filly Poem. He then took the Portland Stakes at Leicester, winning by three lengths from a field of twenty-four opponents for a prize of £6,000, making the race more valuable than the Derby. In the £5,000 Whitsuntide Plate at Manchester Racecourse, Donovan was set to carry 136 pounds and suffered his first defeat when four lengths second to the well-fancied Chitabob. In the summer of 1888 Donovan was sent to Royal Ascot where he won the New Stakes from weak opposition. He then won the Home-bred Foal Stakes at Stockbridge and the Hurstbourne Stakes at the same venue on 28 June, winning easily by two lengths.
Mozart made his first appearance at the Curragh in July, when he started at odds of 2/9 for a seven furlong maiden race. Ridden by Seamus Heffernan he moved into the lead at half way and soon went clear, winning easily by eight lengths from Speirbhean, a filly who went on to win a Group Three race and became the dam of Teofilo. Mozart was then sent to England for Europe's most valuable two-year-old contest, the £400,000 Tattersalls Houghton Sales Stakes at Newmarket, a race restricted to two-year-olds sold at the previous year's Houghton sale. Mozart started the 11/10 favourite in a field of twenty-six and justified his position by taking the lead inside the final furlong and winning by a length from the previously unbeaten Norwegian-trained filly Pretty Girl.
On his only start as a two-year-old Mustashry started at odds of 7/1 for a maiden race over one mile on the synthetic Polytrack surface at Kempton Park Racecourse on 21 October and finished fourth, four lengths behind the winner Southern Gailes. Mustashry began his second season by running second to Taqdeer in a maiden on Polytrack at Chelmsford City Racecourse on 16 April and recorded his first success in a similar event at Thirsk Racecourse three weeks later, winning "easily" by six lengths from fourteen opponents. The colt then moved up to handicap races for his next three starts beginning with the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot in which he finished twelfth under a weight of 127 pounds. On 23 July at the same track he was assigned a weight of 130 pounds and won the Woodford Reserve Handicap by a neck from the filly Pirouette.
Cyborgo started his second season (in which he was partnered by Dunwoody in all his races) in minor, long distance handicap hurdles against more experienced opponents. He began at Cheltenham Racecourse in December where he carried a weight of 162 pounds and led from the start to win by seven lengths from Ivy Road and followed up at Uttoxeter a month later, again making all the running and winning "easily" by six lengths under top weight of 168 pounds. A week later, he won again under 168 pounds in a more valuable handicap at Ascot Racecourse beating Island Jewel by five lengths after Dunwoody employed the usual front-running tactics. On 25 February Cyborgo was stepped up in class for the Grade 2 Rendlesham Hurdle over three miles on heavy at Kempton Park Racecourse and started 8/11 favourite in a five-runner field.
Tawkeel did not race as a juvenile and made her racecourse debut on 3 January when she started the 2.1/1 favourite for a maiden race over 1600 metres on the synthetic Fibresand surface at Pau. Ridden by Jean-Bernard Eyquem she raced in mid division before finishing strongly to take the lead inside the last 100 metres and win by one and a quarter lengths. Six weeks later she was partnered by Cristian Demuro when she followed up in a minor event over the same distance on the Polytrack at Cagnes-sur-Mer, leading from the start and winning "easily" by four and a half lengths from Villa Royale. After a break of three months, necessitated by the suspension of racing in France owing to the COVID-19 outbreak, the filly returned in the Prix de Lormoy over 1900 metres on Polytrack at Deauville Racecourse in which she started 1/2 favourite.
He became President of the Chamber of Commerce in 1924, a position he held for 23 years. Maynard Hedstrom entered politics in the 1900s, serving as mayor of Levuka in 1905 and 1906. In 1908 he was elected to the Legislative Council in the Levuka constituency, defeating the incumbent David Robbie. He was re-elected in 1911, again defeating Robbie. Prior to the 1914 elections, the constituency was reorganised and renamed Eastern. Maynard Hedstrom was returned unopposed and held the seat until the 1937 elections; during this time he was returned unopposed again in 1917, after which he became a member of the Executive Council. He was returned unopposed in 1920, 1929, 1932 and only faced opponents in 1923 and 1926, winning easily on both occasions. He did not contest a seat in the 1937 elections, at which point he also left the Executive Council, but was chosen as one of the two nominated European members on the Legislative Council.
Casamento made his racecourse debut in a maiden race over seven and a half furlongs at Tipperary Racecourse on 28 August in which he was ridden by Gary Carroll who was able to claim a three-pound weight allowance as he had ridden less than 95 winners. Starting the 8/1 fourth choice in the betting in an eleven-runner field, he took the lead after a furlong and was never seriously challenged, winning "easily" by two and a half lengths from the Dermot Weld- trained Cannon Hill. Sixteen days after his win at Tipperary, Casamento was moved up sharply in class for the Group One National Stakes over seven furlongs at the Curragh with Declan McDonogh taking over the ride. After taking an early lead he was overtaken by Pathfork two furlongs out but rallied strongly and was gaining on the leader in the closing stages before finishing second by a head.
In 1996, when OFC reached the official status of Confederation for FIFA, the tournament reappeared as the "Oceania Nations Cup" and served as a qualifier for the Confederations Cup. The 1996 edition, without an host nation but for the first time with a qualifying round, was contested with only four teams playing semifinals and final match on two legs both: Australia and New Zealand, who played the semifinal also for the Trans-Tasman Cup, and the second semifinal match between Tahiti as Polynesia Cup holders and Solomon Islands as Melanesia Cup holders. The Cup was won for the second time by the Australian side winning easily in the final match, on two legs, against Tahiti (6–0 and 5–0). The topscorer of this tournament, Kris Trajanovski, scored all his seven goals in the final match: four on the first leg in Papeete (Tahiti) and three on the second leg in Canberra (Australia).

On her next appearance she made a bid to win the Hatton's Grace Hurdle for a record- breaking fourth time but despite briefly taking the lead at the third last she was soon overtaken and came home third behind Honeysuckle and Bacardys, beaten thirteen lengths by the winner. The Christmas Hurdle (renamed the Frank Ward Memorial Hurdle) at Leopardstown on 28 December saw the mare start 6/4 joint favourite with Bacardys in a seven-runner field which also included Penhill (Stayers' Hurdle), Unowhatimeanharry (Champion Stayers Hurdle) and Killultagh Vic (Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle). The Cervecería Caracas and Navegantes del Magallanes clubs represented the VPBL, while Gavilanes and Pastora represented the LOBP. The Gavilanes were managed by Red Kress, a former major league shortstop and minor league manager. The pennant was clinched by the Pastora club with a 48-30 record, winning easily over Magallanes (40-37), Gavilanes (34-44) and Caracas (33-44). The disappointing Gavilanes were a favorite to grasp the championship, as the team featured a remarkably well-balanced squad headed by pitchers Alejandro Carrasquel, Bob Chakales, Emilio Cueche, Art Houtteman, Sad Sam Jones, Elmer Singleton, Bill Upton and Lenny Yochim; catchers Earl Averill and Hank Foiles; infielders Piper Davis (2B/3B), Dalmiro Finol (3B/2B/1B) and Lee Thomas (1B); outfielders Joe Frazier (RF), Jim Lemon (LF) and Dave Pope (CF), and a 19-year-old rookie shortstop named Luis Aparicio, Jr., who in 1984 would become the first Venezuelan player to be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
