No major alterations have been made to Väte Church since the Middle Ages. The church spire was constructed in 1914. The church is built of limestone. The exterior is partially decorated with Romanesque sculpture (the northern portal, decorative reliefs and window dressings), and has two Gothic southern portals with finely sculpted capitals.

Toodyay Police Stables The stables opposite the gaol site were constructed in 1891 and remained in use until 1955. The present structure replaced a timber building erected on this site in 1860, which were destroyed by fire. The present building is a single storey stone range with brick quoining and stone window dressings. It has a shallow pitched corrugated iron roof with gables.

Timber stables were built on the site using convict labour in the 1860s. A fire that started in a dung heap destroyed those timber stables in 1890. St Swithun's from the south west The Church was built of flint and rubble around 1175. It is considered to be the best largely unspoilt example of a Norman single-cell apsidal church in England. There are only four examples remaining in the UK. A gallery was installed in 1591 and rebuilt together with the roof in 1786. Binstead stone forms the door and window dressings.

Several modern windows have been inserted on the west (left) and south sides. The small rectangular building was always a single-cell chapel with no internal division. It has two storeys and walls of flint and sandstone with red-brick quoins and window dressings. The oldest structural features are the two lancet windows in the north wall, which have -tracery in a style typical of the early 14th century.

A two-storey building with a symmetrical front addressing Avenue Road. There is evidence in the hen-pecked sandstone block finish of former lime-wash finish. The lintel over the wide main doorway appears to be concrete and there is a metal-barred toplight above the transom of the timber double doors.

Now headless, its base serves as a war memorial. In 2018 the chapel continues in use. The church of St Mary the Virgin was built in 1866 at the expense of Gabriel Goldney to designs of C.F. Hansom, as a chapelry of the parish church at Lyneham.

In 1883 the nave, south aisle and porch were rebuilt and the north aisle, organ chamber and vestry were added. With the exception of the porch doorway, all the rebuilding was in the Early English style, the style which the original building showed most signs. Local stone was used for the main walls and Hatherleigh stone was used for the buttresses, quoins, dressings, copings, and window tracery. Internally, the window dressings and the arches of the north aisle are of Corsham Bath stone.

All internal partition walls have been removed and the building was used as a kitchen until recently and is now unoccupied. The Rosemount residence has a western wing constructed of English bond red facebrick relieved with stone sills and window dressings, multipaned leadlight windows and a dark facebrick base. It has a corrugated iron roof and bay windows to the north and to the west with battened and bracketed eaves and an elaborate timber entrance porch with seating to the north. The western bay window is protected by a narrow porch which provides entry to the semi detached kitchen.

Constructed in brick on a gritstone with stone quoins and window dressings, the original 21 bay 5 storey building was 43.8 metres long and 8.4 metres wide. The staircase and ancillary services were in a central projection leaving production floors uncluttered, This was an important advance in mill architecture. The mill was powered by a single waterwheel which, by 1801, had been replaced by two, a system which continued (with replacement wheels by Wren and Bennet in 1847) until turbines were installed in 1928.

37 The granite and basalt used in the foundations and at the base of the columns came from Harcourt and Footscray in Victoria and the sandstone for the window dressings, doorways and arcading came from Pyrmont, New South Wales. The initial architectural impact is achieved via its lofty ceilings, tall, delicately proportioned columns and low level lighting. The architects achieve a layering effect through the masking of external walls via colonnades (a colonnade denotes a long sequence of columns joined by their entablature which is the superstructure of mouldings and bands which lies horizontally above the columns) often free-standing. The interior (by Frank Loughborough Pearson) reflects liturgical arrangements favoured by the Oxford movement from the 1840s.

The Canteen (Kantine). The PoWs regularly congregated here to play cards, read or write letters, read newspapers (both English and German); they also extended their education, in particular, by learning English or maybe just relaxing and whiling away the rest of their available free time. The canteen in 1946 'Foals in the Meadow' The murals in this building are unique, valuable and extremely delicate, as they were first drawn and then painted onto the now fragile fibreboard covering the concrete walling panels. Also in here are the window dressings made from hardboard, pinned to a lath frame surrounding the existing window, then decorated in the style and fashion of the day using 'relocated' materials.
