Some social networks lend themselves to this more than others: Aside from (or perhaps, because of) its rampant porn content, Tumblr serves as an internet Wendy house, a place of sunrise skies and mirror selfies, gleeful materialism (it's little coincidence that sugar babies flourish there), cut with a fierce sense of social justice.

Since gaining the live performance area, live music has played an increasingly important part of the stations output. The music studio is in use daily as part of the evening arts strand "The Dominic King Show". BBC Radio Kent also operated a studio and office in The Wendy House (a building close to the original Sun Pier site in Chatham) although this has since closed, and small contributions studios in Dover and Canterbury.

Sacred Spirits is a multi-site distillery located in Highgate, London. It is unusual in that it distills its spirits by use of vacuum distillation, and thus distills at a lower temperature than traditional pot stills, which operate at atmospheric pressure. Saluni realizes her attraction to the Whale Caller and ventures to his Wendy House in response to his offer to cure her lice problem. She stays with the intention of never leaving and quits drinking in attempt to show her affection. Above her affection is her disapproval of the Whale Caller's obsession with Sarisha. When she vocally bashes Sarisha to the Whale Caller, the Whale Caller leaves to be with Sarisha though this trek to be with Sarisha was different.

In the town they begin to sing and as they sing people begin to surround them and follow them. As they reach the studio the radioman is very impressed and sets an appointment for next week. She then returns to the Wendy house where the relationship she had with the Whale Caller is back. Some days not the Whale Caller forgoes watching the whales and instead fishes with Saluni. During one of these fishing days the Whale Caller lands a monstrous “kabeljou”.

When asked to wait on a gentleman who wanted to buy a dress to wear (at a fancy dress party), the previously busy Mr. Humphries abandons his current customer to assist. In "A Change is as Good as a Rest" when the staff have to run the Toy Department, Capt. Peacock asks if Mr. Humphries can take over showing a customer the wendy house. Mr Humphries says he is busy, until it is revealed the customer is a sailor, so he stops what he is doing and says "I'm free".

Drewery conceived the infamous steel Wendy House which once graced the Apron on Biggin Hill Airport. The council privatised the airport in 1988 and it was bought by Biggin Hill Airport Ltd in 1994, who agreed a 25-year contract for the air fair. In 2010 Biggin Hill Airport Ltd, the airfield leaseholders, cancelled the licence to run the air fair after 47 years, three years before it was due to end. On Saturday 14 June 2014, the air fair was revived with a new smaller-scale format entitled The Festival of Flight.

"Thunder" was written by Leona Lewis and Toby Gad, with the latter producing the track, for Lewis' fifth studio album, I Am (2015). It was published by ASCAP and Atlas Music publishings (on behalf of itself and Gadfly Songs (ASCAP).) Recorded and mixed by Gad at Kite Music Studios in Los Angeles, Lewis provided all of the vocals for "Thunder" and Gad performed all of the instrumentation and programming. The track's audio was mastered by Tom Coyne at Sterling Sound studios in New York City, with assistance from Randy Merrill. For the acoustic version of "Thunder", Lewis' additional vocals were recorded by Adam Lunn at Wendy House Studios in London.

The frontage of the Braemar Road stand was rebuilt in 1963, adding club offices and a club room. Flats were built in a spare, matchday parking area behind the Ealing Road terrace in 1985 and the following year the Brook Road 'kop' was torn down and replaced by a two-tiered stand, colloquially known as the 'Wendy House'. On the New Road side of the ground, the 1930s extension to the terrace was removed and a sheet metal wall was added to the back of the stand. In 2006, the pitch was moved a few metres to the west in order to accommodate box goal nets and the following year, a roof was added to the Ealing Road terrace.
