This stable design enabled a top speed of 90 km/h and, from 1943, the maximum load to be raised to 20 tons (secondary letter m). In May 2009, Hay performed at the Artist for the Arts Foundation benefit at Barnum Hall, Santa Monica High School, Santa Monica, California. Performing alongside Curt Smith of Tears for Fears, Fee Waybill of the Tubes, Venice, and over 70 members of the Santa Monica High School Orchestra and Girls Choir, the benefit helped to provide funds for the continuation of music education in public schools. In August 2010, Hay performed in Missoula, Montana with a Los Angeles Roots rock band named Patrolled By Radar. In December 2013, Hay announced on his website that he was done touring "for the time being" and would spend 2014 writing and recording.

Producers Scott Kroopf and Bob Cort had just finished filming Outrageous Fortune which co- starred George Carlin, and with the film's production nearly complete, were able to get him to complete filming. The Three Most Important People in the utopian society were envisioned to be portrayed by the band members of ZZ Top. However, Solomon had connections to the E Street Band, The Tubes and The Motels, and were able to get Clarence Clemons, Fee Waybill, and Martha Davis, respectively, for the Most Important People. The film's writers, Solomon and Matheson, appear in the film's ice cream scene as the "stupid" and "ugly" waiters, respectively.

Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains is a 1982 film about three teenage girls, played by Diane Lane, Laura Dern and Marin Kanter, who start a punk band. The film also features acting roles by real-life punk musicians including Steve Jones and Paul Cook of the Sex Pistols, Paul Simonon from the Clash, and Vince Welnick and Fee Waybill from the Tubes. The Stains are depicted suffering the derision of male audiences and peers, but their dedication—and the fiery public persona of lead singer Corinne Burns—gains them a strong female fan base that ultimately eclipses their antagonists. The last scene is a triumphant MTV-style professional music video, which indicates the band finally achieved rock stardom.

Indian Creek was originally named Sage Creek by the Jefferson Hunt Wagon Train in 1849, that camped at a crossing point on its banks and measured its distance from there to Cove Fort. Later published in the Mormon Waybill Cove Fort was 22.25 miles (35.81 km) north of their location on the Mormon Road. After a short run in the TV series Fox, and a role in Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains (alongside Diane Lane, Laura Dern and a host of real life punks like Fee Waybill, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Paul Simonon), Winstone got another big break, being cast as Will Scarlet in Robin of Sherwood. He proved immensely popular and enjoyed the role, considering Scarlet to be "the first football hooligan" – though he was not fond of the dubbed German version, in which he said he sounded like a "psychotic mincer". But once the show was over, the parts dried up. He got involved in co-producing Tank Malling, starring Jason Connery, Amanda Donohoe and Maria Whittaker, and scored a few TV parts.

The tour started with a series of secret intimate shows across California including at The Roxy. They also played at the Shockwaves NME Awards 2011 show at O2 Brixton Academy and was their first performance at the venue since the There Is Nothing Left to Lose tour. The tour featured a 52 page rider which included a series of jokey requests including a "ban on light sabers, garden gnomes, and tridents at show venues." Many special guests joined the band on stage during the tour including Roger Daltrey, Lemmy, Phil Campbell, Bob Mould, Roger Taylor, Alice Cooper, Sea Sick Steve, John Paul Jones, Queen, Perry Farrell, Tenacious D, Joan Jett, Krist Novoselic, Fee Waybill, CeeLo Green, Roger Waters, Mick Jagger, Danny Clinch, deadmau5 and Rufus Tiger Taylor.

The team put their plan into action. Wearing the fake Air Canada coveralls, Rick and John stole one of the Air Canada trucks, and drove to the tarmac to meet the arriving TransAir aircraft carrying the gold shipment. Pretending to be Air Canada staff, they explained that there had been a change of plans, as there was a charter flight leaving in an hour, and Air Canada wanted to ship the gold out immediately, rather than waiting on the normal flight. As the two were driving an Air Canada truck, had Air Canada uniforms, and had what appeared to be a valid waybill for the shipment, their ruse worked, and the gold was loaded into their truck, and they drove off with the gold.

Olson has had his songs performed by a diverse list of artists, including Clay Aiken, Chaka Khan, Jack Jones, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Kenny Loggins, Kate Pierson of The B-52s, Fee Waybill of The Tubes, Michael McKean of Spinal Tap, Wayne Brady of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Jack McBrayer of 30 Rock, Malcolm McDowell, Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup, Richard O'Brien of Rocky Horror Show, French Stewart, Ashley Tisdale, Christian Slater, Sheena Easton, Carmen Carter, Jemaine Clement of Flight of the Conchords, Tom Kenny of SpongeBob, Allison Janney, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and his daughter, singer-songwriter Olivia Olson. Olson first collaborated with songwriter Jeff Root on four home studio albums in the 1970s.

The conductor kept their own record of their takings in a waybill. In a further effort to stop misuse, when a hole was punched in a ticket the machine rang a bell, giving a distinctive 'ting' - so that, for example, a conductor could not take the money and simply pretend to punch a ticket (and so prevent the chad being stored in the machine). Not only does it print the ticket as a receipt for the passenger to retain as proof of payment, it also has mechanical counters driven internally by the mechanism to count the total amount of money represented by the series of tickets issued. If the user fills in a waybill showing the starting register readings and later the end of duty readings, the total sum of money to be paid to the bus owner is readily calculated. Another counter provides the total number of tickets issued which should be equal to the number of passengers who travelled.

Foster worked as an album producer on albums for The Tubes: 1981's The Completion Backward Principle and 1983's Outside Inside. Foster cowrote such songs as "Talk to Ya Later", co-written with Tubes singer Fee Waybill and Steve Lukather from Toto, the Top 40 hit "Don't Want to Wait Anymore," and the number 10 US hit "She's a Beauty". The 1980 Boz Scaggs album Middle Man saw Foster cowrite and play keyboard on some of Scaggs's most successful songs, including "Breakdown Dead Ahead", "Jojo", and "Simone", followed by "Look What You've Done to Me" from the film Urban Cowboy. Foster was a major contributor to Chicago's career in the early and middle 1980s, having worked as the band's producer on Chicago 16 (1982), their biggest- selling multi-platinum album Chicago 17 (1984), and Chicago 18 (1986). As was typical of his producing projects from this time period, Foster was a cowriter on songs such as the US Chart No. 1 hit "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", "Love Me Tomorrow" (US No. 22), "Stay the Night" (US No. 16), and "You're the Inspiration" (US No. 3).
