In between shooting rounds Bugs pulls more annoying pranks on Elmer. When Elmer tries a stick of dynamite on Bugs, Bugs gets Elmer into a football game with the dynamite as the ball, until it sets off near a pile of railroad wood posts. Bugs undermines his own efforts, since the explosion instantly lays the tracks and rails in their intended location. The creation of the railroad is followed immediately by the passing of an engine in full steam, Bugs riding in the back and waving goodbye to the cowering Elmer.

Doggett learns that she has dyslexia while studying for the GED, and receives extra tutoring from Tasha "Taystee" Jefferson (played by Danielle Brooks). Because of the carelessness of Joel Luschek (played by Matt Peters), she doesn't receive her extra time (because of her dyslexia) on her final exam and she assumes that she has failed. Distraught, Doggett meets with Dayanara "Daya" Diaz (played by Dascha Polanco) and her gang who are doing drugs in a laundry room, joins them, overdoses on fentanyl and dies before Taystee sees her lying on the floor, unconscious. Her spirit is later seen waving goodbye before disappearing.

The auxiliary cruiser sank in just five minutes and took the commander, Commander H. C. Carr, and 194 other crew members down with it. Most of the crew was asleep and only 26 men survived to be rescued by the British steamer Castlereagh. Bayano Lieutenant Commander Guy described Captain Carr on the bridge, standing without fear waving goodbye while shouting "Good luck to you boys" before the ship disappeared under the waves.

NGHS, the first secondary school to be built in Durban North. NGHS was originally called Durban North High School. Pavlich waving goodbye to the crowd after his final game in August 2016 On 13 January 2016, Pavlich relinquished the captaincy of the Fremantle Football Club after nine seasons, and was replaced by David Mundy. Pavlich announced his retirement at the end of July 2016, with his final game slated to be in Round 23 against the Western Bulldogs. He stated, "I'm just looking forward to finishing the season off individually in good form and certainly helping my teammates launch towards 2017... Frank Todhunter, an officer above both Rimmer and Lister played by Robert Bathurst, explains the concept by way of anything in a stasis field becoming a 'non-event mass with a quantum probability of zero'. When Lister steps into the Stasis booth and the Stasis field is activated, it pauses on him waving goodbye: when the Stasis field is de-activated 3 million years later he starts moving again, still waving the same goodbye, insisting he'd only just got in as he emerged - which, from his point of view, he had.
