Last Night I Saved Her From Vampires is a live album by the Welsh band Future of the Left. It was recorded in Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach and London Water Rats in August 2008. The album was initially available at live shows from late 2008 onwards, but was given a general release on CD and Download by 4AD on 2 February 2009.

In 2007, after 30 years living on his own in Surbiton, Alf moved into Brinsworth House in Twickenham, the retirement home for showbiz professionals in south-west London. Sidi Bou Said's debut album was produced by Tim Friese-Greene. Their next two albums were produced by members of Cardiacs, and they were regular contributors to their stage shows and recordings. In 2001, they briefly reformed, with an additional guitarist under the name Tetra, and played a one-off reunion gig as Sidi Bou Said on 15 December 2005 at The Water Rats, London.

White Bay Power Station Administration Entrance The site was a popular venue for photographers and film and television productions. Productions at the power station include The Matrix Reloaded, Red Planet and a number of Australian television series, including Water Rats, and advertisements. A metal staircase constructed during the making of The Matrix Reloaded remains in the boiler house. It was used in 2012 as a filming site for The Great Gatsby.

The tail length is 85–100 mm and the hind-foot length is 23–26 mm. The body fur is water-resistant and dark gray, which gradually blends into the white underside, the hair is short and lustrous. The hands and feet are covered with fine, white hairs. Their feet are not webbed like other water rats (Hydromys chrysogaster), which gives them their common name "false" water rat.

Geoff Cartwright is an actor, director, award-winning audio book reader, poet, author and high school teacher. Cartwright is notable for his recurring role as Dr. Rob Bowen in the Australian drama All Saints, and for his roles in White Collar Blue, Water Rats and Murder Call. In 1996 Cartwright won a TDK Australian Audio Book Award for his narration of Tim Winton's The Riders. Cartwright is also notable in the live theatre scene in both Brisbane and Sydney.

He then played jazz with his brother on drums and performed as a musician at dances and weddings. In September 2016, it was announced that Lord Frederick had become president of the charity Soldier On!, which invites vulnerable, disadvantaged or socially isolated people to participate in archaeology and heritage projects as well as personal development workshops. On 21 February 2017, Lord Frederick was inducted into the Grand Order of Water Rats charitable fraternity.

At a Mayoral conference held on 28 December 1914 attended by members of both clubs it was moved that a unified North Wollongong Surf Bathing and Life Saving Club be formed. Frank Meadow Sutcliffe left a photographic record of the town, harbour, fishing and residents in late-Victorian times. His most famous photograph entitled "Water Rats" was taken in 1886. He became famous internationally as a great exponent of pictorial photography. He exhibited his work in Tokyo, Vienna, France, the US and Great Britain winning over 60 gold, silver and bronze medals. It is called kwypep by the Kalam tribe (Madang Province), possibly ogoyam in the Telefol language (in Sandaun Province) and momo by the Rofaifo (Southern Highlands Province), although that name is also used for other water rats, like the common Rakali. There is a range of threatened and endemic species on the Tiwi Islands. Thirty-eight threatened species have been recorded, and a number of plants and invertebrates are found nowhere else, including eight plant species and some land snails and dragonflies. Threatened mammals include Brush-tailed rabbit rats, northern brush-tailed phascogales, false water rats and Carpentarian dunnarts. Native mammals include swamp wallabies, grey-headed flying foxes, common brushtail possums, common ringtail possums, water rats, echidnas, and platypus in the upper reaches of the river. Helminth: various species of worms that infest water rats Rakali are a predominately carnivorous species feeding on a variety of aquatic animals including fish, crustaceans, shellfish, small birds, eggs, mammals, frogs, reptiles. In winter, when resources are limited, they will also take plants. A mostly nocturnal species, they search for their food on dusk, partly by sight when in the water and hunting prey on the waters edge returning to a favourite feeding place where evidence of previous catches can be seen. They can be found swimming and feeding in the early morning and evening.

Perretta was born in London to an Italian father and an Irish mother, having one sister. Perretta left school at 15 to pursue a career in music. He developed a fan base while playing regular live sets at The Water Rats in Kings Cross and other pubs and bars around central London. In 2006, Perretta met Ed Sheeran; the two subsequently became close friends and performed regularly together at various open mic nights around the UK. The park is home to many species of birds, bats and other mammals, reptiles (tiger snakes and blue tongued lizards are common) insects and fish (esp. carp and eels) also regularly found are rainbow lorikeets, red-rumped parrots and yellow-tailed black cockatoos, water rats and brush-tail and ringtail possums. Hearts of Black Science was formed in November 2005 by two childhood friends: Daniel Änghede (also vocalist in UK supergroup Crippled Black Phoenix) and Tomas Almgren (ex-horror movie director). In April 2006, the band released a self- financed EP with a limited run of 200 copies that sold out within just 2 months; a second EP was released the following month. The band was signed shortly after the A&R; scout from Club AC30 saw them performing their second gig ever at the Water Rats Theatre in London. The debut album The Ghost You Left Behind was released by the London-based label in the spring of 2007.

A study to be published in the Ecology journal states that the invasion of cane toads in a case study area caused a trophic cascade over a period of five years. The resident predators, the monitor lizards, ate the cane toads and died, which resulted in a boom in the population of the lizards' typical prey, the crimson finches. Richard Shine is using behavioural conditioning techniques to teach the northern quoll to avoid cane toads. In 2019, it was found that the native rakali or Australian water rats (Hydromys chrysogaster) have learned to make an incision to eat the cane toads' hearts and livers, while avoiding their lethal skin and glands.

The Alfonz played "Summer Sun" in Zane Lowe radio show in BBC Radio 1, on 27 November 2007, before the EP was released. Following the release of the EP, The Alfonz embarked on a mini-tour to promote it, playing at London Water Rats, Bristol, Louisiana, Oxford Port Mahon and The Victoria in Swindon. In the following months they continued to play live across the south of the UK, building up a larger fan base. After seeing The Alfonz live at the Bull & Gate in London in 2008, Martyn Berg told Colin Lester about them, and soon after The Alfonz were being managed by CLM Entertainment under Lester.

Ace Mark Richardson confirmed reports that the band was reforming in an interview with Drummer Magazine (November 2008 issue), and said that the band planned to release a "best of" compilation as well as new material. Ace later set up an official page for the band on MySpace. On 2 and 3 April 2009, two shows took place at the Monto Water Rats (the former venue of the Splash Club) in London, under the alias SCAM (Skin, Cass, Ace, Mark) and sold out in 20 minutes. The band began their "Greatest Hits" tour on Friday, 9 October 2009 at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels, with other dates across Europe.

Following the war, the establishment of the Light Programme on BBC Radio, specialising in light entertainment and music, provided further opportunities for the Pearsons. They appeared on variety shows such as Seaside Nights (on the BBC Home Service), Second House, Round The Halls, Music-Hall and had guest spots on The Happidrome. In 1947, they were initiated into the Grand Order of Water Rats, a British entertainment industry fraternity and charitable organisation. That Christmas, whilst appearing at the Glasgow Empire, the duo heard from comedian Ted Ray, informing the brothers that he had specified their names when asked who he wanted for his radio show.

Continuing his association with the Grand Order of Water Rats, he raised £900 by donating two of art works to be auctioned; he had begun painting as a hobby in the early 1980s. He became King Rat (head of the charity) in 1997, the year which marked 50 years of his involvement with the Rats. In 2001, the first CD compilation of Bob and Alf's recordings, My Brother And I, was released. The collection was co-ordinated by skiffle musician and fellow Water Rat Chas McDevitt, who also wrote the sleeve notes, and, at the age of 91, Alf's voice could be heard linking the tracks.

In 1999, before leaving drama school, Coleby co-starred with the Irish actor Eoin Moloney in the TV movie Sabrina Down Under, filmed on Hamilton Island. Upon graduation Conrad was snapped up by the Sydney Theatre Company to play the role of Stuey in Tony McNamara's new play The Recruit, alongside John Howard, Leanna Walsman and Brendan Cowell, directed by Robin Nevin. Ted Roberts began his career in television in the 1960s, writing early episodes of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. The series was screened in over eighty countries and its theme tune, composed by Eric Jupp, is one of the best known and most recognisable Australian tunes. The long version (the B side on the 45rpm record) has lyrics written by Roberts. Rebillet first appeared on screen in the seminal Australian film Newsfront, and in Going Down in 1983. Rebillet went on to gain credits in several other features including Heatwave, Così and I Can't Get Started, and was cast in international commercials with Sega, AT&T; and Kraft. Other early guest roles included appearances in several Australian television series Water Rats, Murder Call and All Saints. Despite years as an actor, Rebillet always wanted to be a director and eventually, in her twenties, got behind the camera by working as a director's assistant to Mark Joffe (The Man Who Sued God) and Alex Proyas (Garage Days and iRobot).

Attended Castle Hill High school from 1989 to 1994 Davies graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Arts in Performance In her breakthrough role, Davies played Donna Parry in the Australian police drama Young Lions in 2002. She was a Most Popular New Female Talent nominee at the 2003 Logie Awards. Davies also starred in the sitcom Flat Chat and has made guest appearances on Water Rats, McLeod's Daughters and The Secret Life of Us. In 2005 she also had a very brief role in the film Stealth. Since 2004 Davies has portrayed character Cate McMasters in the medical drama All Saints.

Water Rats, London, July 2011 The Blockheads have continued after Dury's death, contributing to the 2001 tribute album Brand New Boots and Panties, then releasing Where's the Party (2004), Staring Down the Barrel (2009), and the live album 30 Live At the Electric Ballroom (2008) to mark the 30th anniversary of New Boots and Panties!!. The Blockheads still tour and currently consist of Jankel, Watt- Roy, Gallagher, Turnbull with John Roberts on drums, Gilad Atzmon or Dave Lewis on sax. Derek Hussey (aka "Derek The Draw", who was Dury's friend and minder) is now writing songs with Jankel and sings lead vocals. 2013 was the band's 35th anniversary year.

Jay Laga'aia (born 10 September 1963) is a New Zealand-Australian actor and singer. He is best known internationally for his role as Captain Typho in the films Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Laga'aia is noted for his television roles, including Senior Constable Tommy Tavita in the Australian police drama Water Rats, lawyer David Silesi in the New Zealand legal drama Street Legal and Elijah Johnson in the long running Australian soap opera Home and Away. He currently appears in an Australian Children's TV Series called Jay's Jungle, which has been broadcast since 2015.

Born in Narberth, Pembrokeshire, Calvin later attended Canton High School for Boys in Cardiff. Wyn Calvin has been in show business for over sixty years. He served with ENSA during World War II. In 1991 he became the first Welshman ever to be elected "King Rat" of the Grand Order of Water Rats, a show business fraternity and charity, and has also been the Welsh chairman of the Variety Club of Great Britain. He is particularly well known for his appearances in pantomime and summer season at venues all over the UK. Wyn is an accomplished after-dinner speaker and has also spoken at St.David's Day events all over the world.

The Chas McDevitt Skiffle Group was the only British skiffle group, other than Lonnie Donegan's, to achieve international success. After Whiskey left in 1957, McDevitt had less commercial success, and his group disbanded around 1959. He then formed a duo with his wife Shirley Douglas, until their professional and personal relationship ended in the 1970s. Since then, McDevitt has continued to perform as the leader of a re-formed group, and also remains active in charitable work, including through his membership of the showbusiness charity the Grand Order of Water Rats.

Sarah Chadwick (born 11 August 1960) is an Australian television actress best known for her role on The Flying Doctors as Dr. Rowie Lang, and for her role as Marion in the 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. James is best known for his long-running role as a presenter on ABC TV's children's program Play School, a role he started in 1993 and worked in until 2000. James also had minor roles in such Australian TV series as City Homicide, Very Small Business, All Saints, Water Rats, G.P., and Police Rescue over an extended period. In 2008 James gained a leading support role in Working Dog Productions satirical political television series The Hollowmen, where he played the part of Phillip, Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Under the management of Andrew King and Peter Jenner, the original managers of Pink Floyd, Ian Dury and the Blockheads quickly gained a reputation as one of the top live acts of new wave music. They released two more albums on Stiff and several singles, achieving a UK number one in 1979 with "Hit Me with Your Rhythm Stick". In 1980, Wilko Johnson replaced Jankel for a while, which led to a rapport between Johnson and Watt-Roy.

On 8 September 2011, it was announced that the band had been signed to Polydor Records, with a lucrative two-album deal on the cards. After signing to a major label, Lawson were tasked with opening for acts such as The Wanted, Will Young, Avril Lavigne, and Jessie J.Jessie J at Warwick Castle The band toured extensively at the beginning of 2012, fitting in a headline tour of the UK in January and another in May as well as a one-off intimate show at Monto Water Rats in London which was streamed worldwide in April. Sellers's difficulties in getting his film career to take off, and increasing problems in his personal life, prompted him to seek periodic consultations with astrologer Maurice Woodruff, who held considerable sway over his later career. After a chance meeting with a North American Indian spirit guide in the 1950s, Sellers became convinced that the music hall comedian Dan Leno, who died in 1904, haunted him and guided his career and life-decisions. Sellers was a member of the Grand Order of Water Rats, the same exclusive theatrical fraternity founded by Leno in 1890. In 1958 Sellers starred with David Tomlinson, Wilfrid Hyde-White, David Lodge and Lionel Jeffries as a chief petty officer in Val Guest's Up the Creek.

A music hall comedian, Ray usually played violin badly as part of his act—first as Hugh Neek, then "Nedlo the Gypsy Violinist". He also played comedy roles in several British films—notably as the headmaster in Carry On Teacher. He is best remembered for the Sunday lunchtime radio show Ray's a Laugh, a domestic comedy in which Kitty Bluett played his wife. Other actors and actresses who featured on the show included Peter Sellers, Fred Yule, Patricia Hayes, Kenneth Connor, Pat Coombs and Graham Stark; Sellers' earliest appearances predated The Goon Show by a couple of years. In 1940 and 1950 Ray was King Rat of the Grand Order of Water Rats.

While studying the effects of radiation on various behaviors in the mid to late 1950s, Dr. John Garcia noticed that rats developed an aversion to substances consumed prior to being irradiated. To examine this, Garcia put together a study in which three groups of rats were given sweetened water followed by either no radiation, mild radiation, or strong radiation. When rats were subsequently given a choice between sweetened water and regular tap water, rats who had been exposed to radiation drank much less sweetened water than those who had not. Specifically, the total consumption of sweetened water for the no-radiation, mild radiation and strong radiation rats was 80%, 40% and 10%, respectively.

Later in 1957 Vaughan appeared in that year's Royal Variety Show alongside other 1950s stars, including Ronnie Hilton, Dickie Valentine and David Whitfield. In 1960 he took part in the national preselection to represent the United Kingdom in that year's Eurovision Song Contest, singing "Each Tomorrow", but he was beaten by Bryan Johnson, whose "Looking High, High, High" went on to finish in second place. Hollywood beckons for Underbelly star Les Hill He had a starring role in the drama series Rescue: Special Ops.Rescue Special Ops' Les Hill back on the big screen, with Joel Egerton in Separation City Hill has also appeared in Pacific Drive as Grant Crozier in 1997, Water Rats, Wildside, the Nine Network series Scorched, and the 2010 Steven Spielberg produced Miniseries The Pacific. He also starred in Peter Benchley's The Beast alongside fellow Home and Away actor Laura Vasquez, playing one of the divers that was killed by the giant squid. In autumn 2010, it was revealed that Jordan's childhood friend, and drummer, Alex Binnington, had joined the band and Proxies performed their live debut as guests for select dates on English rock band Canterbury's tour, followed up by acting as direct support for Hadouken!'s concerts scheduled between the band's dates on Pendulum's Immersion Tour. Kaplan Kaye in relaxed mood Kaplan Eric Kaye (born 1949) is a British actor, songwriter and musician as well as a Past King Rat of the show-business charity the Grand Order of Water Rats. Born in Watford, Hertfordshire, the son of actor and entertainer Davy Kaye, Kaplan 'Kap' Kaye trained at the Corona Stage Academy. His television debut was as Young Scrooge in an adaptation of A Christmas Carol (1958), part of the Tales from Dickens series. From 1980 to early 2000s he had acting roles in many Australian television series including The Young Doctors, Skyways, The Sullivans, Cop Shop, A Country Practice, Sons and Daughters, Police Rescue, Home and Away, Water Rats and All Saints. During the 1980s he had lead roles in the epic ABC mini-series 1915, the Coral Island and Chase Through The Night and was nominated for the best actor award in the 1983 Logies for his role as Walter Gilchrist in 1915. He had numerous film and radio appearances and was one of the Bouncers in the highly successful national tour of the play of the same name in 1985/86.

Determined to continue, Levitation set about auditioning new singers. Although it was rumoured that the band initially asked former All About Eve singer Julianne Regan, the band announced in August 1993 the arrival of American singer Steve Ludwin who had previously fronted the London-based band Some Have Fins. It was noted in the press that the band were seen as a quintessentially English band, and Hayes responded that he "did personally have some reservations about us using an American vocal though, purely for sound reasons, and I do think that it does change the sound from how it was". The new line-up played a series of gigs in Germany and at the Splash Club (at the Water Rats in King's Cross) in May and June 1994.

In 2002, they recorded an orchestral version of the song "No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)". It was digitally released three years later but failed to chart on the UK Singles Chart. Whilst still in WWRY, Ellis also performed in one-off intimate gigs accompanied by guitarist Peter Johansson – who performed with Ellis in the WWRY ensemble – at London clubs Monto Water Rats and Chapel Bar on 9 November 2003 and 28 March 2004 respectively. The set included songs by Avril Lavigne, Eva Cassidy, Dusty Springfield, Janis Joplin, Alicia Keys and Shakira. After leaving WWRY, she sang at a concert version of Jesus Christ Superstar as the female lead Mary Magdalene at Porchester Castle on 11 June 2004 alongside other West End performers and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Water Rats, London, July 2011 Essentially the song is about being in a job that makes you happy. Dury claimed, in a 1984 interview with Penthouse magazine that, while not condemning 9-to-5 jobs, he had written the song to make people question their lives, echoing the sentiments of his earlier single "Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll". The song's verses list a number of occupations that the narrator could have taken, including driver, poet, teacher and soldier, even an inmate in a long-term institution and the ticket man at Fulham Broadway tube station. The chorus reveals that instead he chose to "play the fool in a six-piece band", highlighting some of its disadvantages, particularly loneliness, before deciding that "rock 'n' roll don't mind".

After his return to Australia, he was named a finalist in the Arts section of the 2001 Young Australian of the Year Awards, and nominated for a MO Award for his performance in Footloose. Kane also completed a tour with the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, performing The Music of Lerner & Loewe at concert halls around Australia. Alexander has also made several television appearances, such as Good Morning Australia, Denise, The Midday Show, In Melbourne Tonight, Carols By Candlelight and The Good Friday Appeal Gala, along with roles in Late For School, Neighbours, Water Rats and Stingers. He also appeared as a guest performer on the 18 June 2006 special broadcast of The Footy Show which was filmed in Munich in which he performed the song "Timeless" with Australian icon Tina Arena.

He is well known for his support of various charity through his performance and endorsement. He has been active for many years on behalf of the Scottish Showbusiness Benevolent Fund, The Grand Order of Water Rats, he formerly sat on the Master Court of the Trades House of Glasgow and is an Executive Founding Trustee of the Ayrshire (East) Foodbank which he established alongside his wife, Cheryl Forbes. It was announced in August 2013 that Cree and Forbes would be stepping down as sole executives for the Ayrshire (East) Foodbank due to family and work commitments, but stated that it was their dear hope that others would come forward to continue the work of the charity. The charity resumed under new management in October of the same year.

Desborough began her acting career in 1995, making her debut in a guest appearance in medical series G.P.. She made a guest appearance on Water Rats before landing her first major role on Australia's most popular soap opera Home and Away, playing the part of Justine Welles for three years from 1997 to 2000. Desborough tackled several controversial storylines as Justine, including, drug addiction and false imprisonment for battering a baby who later died. She is also known for her role as Shelley Southall on the short- lived drama series Always Greener, for which she appeared from 2002 to 2003. In 2004, Desborough played a small role in the television mini-series Salem's Lot, a remake of the 1979 cult mini-series, based on the novel by Stephen King.

'Cities' is a rugby league team that plays in the Roma and District rugby league football competition. Both their B grade and A grade sides recently enjoy back to back premierships with the a grade side winning undefeated in 2017, Darren Lockyer was once captain of this team, and it was in this team that he was then scouted for the Brisbane Broncos. The 'Roma Tomatoes' mixed-gender Touch Rugby team was founded in 2009. Roma has a rugby union team which compete in the Darling Downs Rugby Union competition, against such teams as the University of Southern Queensland Rugby Union Club, Toowoomba Rangers Rugby Union Club, Toowoomba City Rugby Club, Roma Echidnas, the Condamine Cods, the Dalby Wheatmen, the Goondiwindi Emus, the Warwick Water Rats and the University of Queensland Rugby Union Club (Gatton Campus).

Page-Lochard made his feature film debut in Rachel Perkins’ award winning film, Bran Nue Dae (2010). He appeared in Wayne Blair's The Sapphires, which screened in Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival. He also featured as the lead in Sarah Spillane's feature film, Around the Block (2013) alongside Christina Ricci, the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013. In 2015, he attended the Toronto International Film Festival for his father's feature film debut Spear (2015). He has also featured in several short films including Adrian Wills Arcadia and Wayne Blair’s Black Talk and The Djarn Djarns (2005), which won the Crystal Bear Award for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. Page-Lochard has appeared in guest roles on Water Rats (2001), East West 101 (2007), directed by Peter Andrikidis and ABC2's Soul Mates (2014).

The Murray River (and associated tributaries) support a variety of river life adapted to its vagaries. This includes a variety of native fish such as the famous Murray cod, trout cod, golden perch, Macquarie perch, silver perch, eel-tailed catfish, Australian smelt, and western carp gudgeon, and other aquatic species like the Murray short-necked turtle, Murray River crayfish, broad-clawed yabbies, and the large clawed Macrobrachium shrimp, as well as aquatic species more widely distributed through southeastern Australia such as common longnecked turtles, common yabbies, the small claw-less paratya shrimp, water rats, and platypus. The Murray River also supports fringing corridors and forests of the river red gum. The health of the Murray River has declined significantly since European settlement, particularly due to river regulation, and much of its aquatic life including native fish are now declining, rare or endangered.

Water Rats, London, July 2011 The Blockheads briefly reformed in June 1987 to play a short tour of Japan and then disbanded again. In September 1990, following the death from cancer of drummer Charlie Charles, they reunited for two benefit concerts in aid of Charles' family, held at The Forum, Kentish Town, with Steven Monti on drums. In December 1990, augmented by Merlin Rhys-Jones on guitar and Will Parnell on percussion, they recorded the live album Warts & Audience at the Brixton Academy. The Blockheads (without Jankel, who returned to California) toured Spain in January 1991, then disbanded again until August 1994 when, following Jankel's return to England, they were invited to reform for the Madstock Festival in Finsbury Park; this was followed by sporadic gigs in Europe, Ireland, the UK and Japan through late 1994 and 1995.

The Pineapple Thief playing at Lunario in Mexico City (2019) In May 2008, The Pineapple Thief launched the Kscope label with the critically acclaimed album Tightly Unwound, which was marked by launch shows at Witchwood in Manchester on 17 May 2008 and at the Water Rats Theatre in London on 22 May 2008. The same day as the album's release, a mini-documentary filmed at The Half Moon, London, was released through the band's website, featuring interviews and two exclusive live tracks. This was followed in 2009 by The Dawn Raids EPs and 3000 Days, a 2-CD re-mixed and re-mastered collection of songs from their ten-year history to date. In January 2010, their 2006 album, Little Man was also fully remixed by Bruce Soord and Steve Kitch and released through Kscope with new artwork.

Dierdre Claire Smart (born 9 July 1966) is an Australian actress, model, singer, dancer and painter. After giving up on being a dancer, she rose to prominence portraying Lucinda Croft in the popular soap opera Home and Away from 1991 to 1992. After leaving the show she appeared in a handful of television guest spots, plays and films, including the 1997 comedy Welcome to Woop Woop, and was known for her appearances as Lady Luck on the variety programme The Footy Show before returning to regular television in the police procedural Water Rats, where she portrayed Detective Senior Constable Alex St. Clare from 1999 to 2001. Her more recent roles include having appeared in the 2011 TV movie Panic at Rock Island and the television shows Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries in 2013 and Winter in 2015.

In November 2016, the day after Trampolene headlined a sold-out show for This Feeling (club night) at Water Rats in London, Jones flew to Argentina as Peter Doherty's lead guitarist in his band the Puta Madres, for a November/December 2016 tour of Argentina, France and UK. They played two shows for the reopening of Le Bataclan in Paris, followed by a week's tour across France and shows in London and Manchester. Jack Jones opened the shows with a solo music and spoken word set, before rejoining the stage as Peter's lead guitarist. The video for "Blue Balls and a Broken Heart" was filmed during a Puta Madres show in Lyon and was premiered on NME on 29 November. The video for "She's A Nice Girl" was released January 2017 and "Slug" on 4 February. In January 2017 Trampolene began a series of "House Party" gigs, playing in fans' houses.

After moving overseas for some time (reputedly to evade a death threat made by a Sydney underworld figure) Anderson returned to Australia and began performing regularly on Australian TV from the mid-1970s, with appearances in The Sullivans (as Jim Sullivan), Gloss (as Matt Winter), Prisoner (as Rick Manning), Fire (as John Kennedy) and a starring role in the talking-dog sitcom The Bob Morrison Show as Steve Morrison. Guest appearances on television include: The Flying Doctors, A Country Practice, Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Heartbreak High, Water Rats, All Saints, Blue Heelers, Neighbours and Stingers. He had a prominent featured role as detective Lochie Renford in the first season of the acclaimed ABC-TV police series Phoenix (1992–93). In 2012 he had a recurring featured role as Vince, the minder of drug lord Harry Montebello, in the ABC-TV crime drama series The Straits.

Ireland made her television debut in 1992 when she made a guest appearance on the Australian television series Police Rescue. What followed was a number of guesting roles on television series such as A Country Practice, Water Rats and Murder Call, to name but a few and the feature films Dallas Dolls in 1994, which was her film debut; Dad and Dave: On Our Selection, Floating Life, Idiot Box and Thank God He Met Lizzie, with Cate Blanchett; all of which she appeared in throughout the nineties. In 1997, Ireland played Rosy's mother Filameena in the Australian children's television series Swinging for ABC TV. In 1998, Ireland went on to voice Boronia in the Australian children's animated television series Petals for ABC TV and Mrs. Simms in the Australian children's animated television series Seaside Hotel for Seven Network and Yoram Gross EM TV in 2003.

The steps down from the Square to the North Shields Fish Quay were said to have inspired the piano-moving scene in The Music Box. In a 2005 UK poll, Comedians' Comedian, Laurel and Hardy were ranked top double act, and seventh overall. Along with Hardy, Laurel was inducted into the Grand Order of Water Rats. Statue of Laurel on the site once occupied by the theatre owned by his parents, in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, north east England Neil Brand wrote a radio play entitled Stan, broadcast in 2004 on BBC Radio 4 and subsequently on BBC Radio 4 Extra, starring Tom Courtenay as Stan Laurel, in which Stan visits Oliver Hardy after Hardy has suffered his stroke and tries to say the things to his dying friend and partner that have been left unsaid. In 2006, BBC Four showed a drama called Stan, based on Brand's radio play, in which Laurel meets Hardy on his deathbed and reminisces about their career.

Abigail Anne Tucker came to public attention as a singer on the Australian program, New Faces in the early 1990s and in 1994 landed a role in the Australian TV series Heartbreak High in which she also contributed to the series music soundtrack. Tucker recorded her first EP of original music in 1994 called, 'Breathe In' which was produced by Dorian West and released through Shock Records, before moving to the UK. During an extended stay in London, Tucker teamed up with musician/songwriter Davi Taylor to form 'grunge rock' band 'Bully'. The pair recorded an unreleased EP of songs at AIR studios with renowned producer, Eric Rosse before relations at EMI records folded and Tucker returned to Australia to work on acclaimed series, Wildside. Films Angst and 'The Wog Boy' followed, as well as roles in 'Water Rats', 'My Husband, my Killer' and 'Envy', plus a stage production of 'The Vagina Monologues', during which time Tucker continued to write and record music.

False water rats do not appear to negatively affect man or our economy and they have no known positive economic importance for man other than playing a role in maintaining the ecological stability of the marine population they feed on, indirectly affecting local marine-related industries and the land. Through the years, man has been careless with the release of pollutants and other waste products thereby causing a decrease in the habitat for these animals. Paying particular attention, creating, promoting and maintaining environmentally safe processes surrounding excavation and construction, garbage and waste products elimination, chemicals and extracts usage, as well natural and unnatural predators will increase the survival chances of the false water rat. In addition, conservation of the wetlands and mangroves will not only prevent extinction of the false water rat and other animals but it will protect our shores from wave action, reduce the impacts of floods and absorb natural pollutants and provide habitat for animals and plants.

Alphabeat made their UK debut at Monto Water Rats in May 2007 and later that year embarked on their first UK tour (The Wolfbaggin' tour), supporting Lil Chris and Daniel Powter. They were offered the chance to open for the Spice Girls during their 2007–08 Return of the Spice Girls tour, but declined the opportunity, feeling that it would be "too weird" to suddenly play in front of a 23,000 audience unfamiliar with the band's music. They have often been associated with the wonky pop movement—their manager owns the brand name—and they have played a number of Wonky Pop events and tours. During the summer of 2008 they played numerous British and international festivals including T in the Park on "Camper's Friday", Roskilde Festival, T4 on the Beach, Summerfestival (in Klaksvík, Faroe Islands, in early August), and in October 2008, along with many other bands at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England for hundreds of young girlguides.

The Granada Theatre pantomimes Kaye's last British television appearance was on the Barrymore Show where he performed his famous One Man Band act. A brash man who was said to be difficult to work with, he nevertheless was rarely out of work and on two occasions the Variety Club of Great Britain gave a lunch in his honour at the Dorchester Hotel in 1985 and 1995 to celebrate his 50th and 60th year in show business respectively, both of which were televised on the BBC. Noted for his charity work, over the years Kaye raised more than one million pounds for a number of charities, including the Bud Flanagan Leukaemia Fund, The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme, the Prince Philip Trust Fund, the Nightingale House home for elderly Jews and the Ealing Jewish Youth Club. He was a Past King Rat of the Grand Order of Water Rats (1984), and later was Preceptor.

To mark the 20th anniversary of their debut commercial recording release, Therapy? performed for three consecutive nights at London's Monto Water Rats in March which were recorded for the bands' first official live album entitled We're Here to the End, released in November. A deluxe gold edition of 2009's Crooked Timber album was released on 19 July. Therapy? also appeared at European festivals in the summer, including at Knebworth Sonisphere on 31 July when the band performed the Troublegum album in its entirety. Later in 2010, the band performed several "Troublegum & more" sets throughout Europe as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. In December 2010, the band began recording their thirteenth studio album, entitled A Brief Crack of Light, in Newcastle's Blast Studio. The album recording was completed in February 2011 and mixing began in March. In late May 2011, the group announced a change of plan for the new album; another recording session was planned for June in order to record new songs that had emerged.

Water Rats, July 2011 Jankel left the band temporarily and relocated to the U.S. after the release of "What A Waste" (his organ part on that single was overdubbed later) but he subsequently returned to the UK and began touring sporadically with the Blockheads, eventually returning to the group full-time for the recording of "Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick"; according to Mick Gallagher, the band recorded 28 takes of the song but eventually settled on the second take for the single release. Partly due to personality clashes with Dury, Jankel quit the group again in 1980, after the recording of the Do It Yourself LP, and he returned to the U.S. to concentrate on his solo career. The group worked solidly over the eighteen months between the release of "Rhythm Stick" and their next single, "Reasons to Be Cheerful", which returned them to the charts, making the UK Top 10. Jankel was replaced by former Dr. Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson, who also contributed to the next album Laughter and its two minor hit singles, although Gallagher recalls that the recording of the Laughter album was difficult and that Dury was drinking heavily in this period.

Its themed nights had different retro vibes, influenced by icons Breakfast at Tiffany's, James Bond or the Playboy Clubs of the 1950s and 1960s, with clubbers dressing in the style of each event. Venues graced by Club Montepulciano included the Hanover Grand, Café de Paris, the Connaught Ballrooms, Turnmills, the Kensington Roof Gardens, Brockwell Lido, the Rivoli Ballroom, the Embassy Club, Glastonbury Festival, Glyndeborne, Pacha's flagship venue in Madrid, Dingwalls, Eastborne Wintergardens, the original Brighton Concord, The Water Rats, Madame Jojo's, the Scala club at Kings Cross, the Eve Club, the Blackheath Halls, and The Camden Centre. Club Montepulciano's cabaret and comedy acts included The League of Gentlemen (before they were famous), Mackenzie Crook from The Office as Charlie Cheese, Jackie Clune as Karen Carpenter, Matt Lucas from Little Britain and Shooting Stars, Amy Lamé in collaboration with 'Duckie', Ursula Martinez, The Tiger Lillies (Shockheaded Peter), Men in Coats, Mike Flowers Pops, The Lorraine Bowen Experience, Percy and Allen, Tina C and Dr Stuart (The Fifth Element), and the UK Latin American Ballroom Dance Champions. Complementing these performers were circus acts, magicians, impersonators and more built around a variety style bill.

The dance was a comic variation of the well-known skirt dance belonging to Loie Fuller, which had been popular in France years earlier.Findlater & Tich, p. 59 Another successful characterisation was that of an eccentric Spanish dancer, which Little Tich devised while touring Europe, and like The Serpentine Dance, relied heavily on acrobatic choreography and comic miming rather than eccentric singing and joke reciting.Findlater & Tich, p. 61 It was around this period when Little Tich was inducted into the fledgling entertainers' fraternity, the Grand Order of Water Rats. In 1906, he would serve as "King Rat" for the order. In 1894, free from his contractual obligations at Drury Lane, he took a three-year break from the English music hall scene and travelled to France to fulfil a number of engagements; over the next ten years, he divided his time between there and England. In the early months of 1895, he moved from music hall to variety theatre, a transition which many of his contemporaries had already successfully achieved. Lord Tom Noddy was showcased in September 1896 and ran at the Garrick Theatre, London for two months.
