Jonathan Philip Wacks is an American film director, producer and screenwriter. He has directed a number of films including Powwow Highway, produced by George Harrison. The film won the Sundance Film Festival Filmmaker’s Trophy, was nominated for four Independent Spirit Awards, and won awards for best picture, director, and actor at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco. In 1989 West End Games released a Cyberpunk and Paranoia crossover. Singer/songwriter Bob Segarini and multi-instrumentalist Randy Bishop disbanded Roxy and joined with singer- guitarist-keyboardist Michael Stull to form the new group. Bassist Bill 'Kootch' Trochim and drummer Spencer Earnshaw completed The Wackers lineup to record the debut album Wackering Heights, produced by Gary Usher. Following the success of the tracks "Travelin' Time" and "Body Go Round", the band toured Canada and the US. The next year (1972), the band moved to Montreal, Canada around the time that they released their sophomore LP Hot Wacks to very good reviews. The album, recorded at Andre Perry Studios, featured "I Hardly Know Her Name" and a cover of John Lennon's "Oh My Love".

Nick and Nat – The Beat Boys featured two young lads from Liverpool who fancied themselves as musicians, spoke in Liverpudlian slang (even the original title of the strip was derived from a slang Scouse term for a native of Liverpool: 'wacker'), sported Beatles-style haircuts, and always carried guitars. This was a reprint of The Wacks, which had run in Wham during 1964, reprinted here with only the title and the names changed. Spoofing the pop group The Beatles, it was an odd choice to run it a year after that group's demise. It was, though, a popular item: this 1964 strip had already been reprinted, under the title Birk 'n' 'Ed, the Mersey Dead-Beats, from 30 January 1965 in Fleetway's Hurricane.

A 1991 20-dollar coin was part of a series commemorating Operation Desert Storm In the 1970s, Kevin Gale was hired to manage the marketing of Principality coins and stamps. In 1995 Gale died and it was found that in addition to promoting Principality coins and stamps, he had registered "Hutt River Province" as the name of a Queensland company of which he was sole owner and from which no profits were forwarded to the Principality. From 1984 to 1989, Johnson Matthey Refining, Rochester, New York, a manufacturer of precious metal products, manufactured limited numbers of commemorative coins for Mel Wacks, who had been appointed exclusive American distributor by Leonard Casley. In 1989, production was transferred to the Continental Coin Company (in California). From 1989 to 1995, the mint produced various themed commemorative Hutt River Province coins which were sold on the US market.

In addition to publishing articles and books on these subjects, he has edited a number of collections of essays on various aspects of Hong Kong law, including Civil Liberties in Hong Kong, The Future of the Law in Hong Kong, The Law in Hong Kong 1969–1989, and Human Rights in Hong Kong (all published by Oxford University Press), Hong Kong, China, and 1997: Essays in Legal Theory, and The New Legal Order in Hong Kong published by Hong Kong University Press.
