Drug-sniffing dogs sent out to look for opioids are overdosing themselves, according to veterinarian and law enforcement officials who are trying to figure out ways to save them.

"Any person or pet bitten by wildlife anywhere should contact their health care provider or veterinarian to determine if medical care is needed," the DOHM said in a statement.
