At the core, Lasseter said, "it's gotta be about the growth of the main character and how he changes." , every Pixar feature film has included a character voiced by actor John Ratzenberger, who had famously starred in the TV show Cheers (1992–93). Pixar paid tribute to their "good luck charm" in the end credits of Cars (2006) by parodying scenes from three of their earlier films, replacing all of the characters with motor vehicles.

In this sense, the following categories can be created: 1) works in which the female protagonist temporarily disguises herself as a man and then returns to the domestic space of the family and life as a woman (e. g. Okju hoyeon); 2) works in which the female protagonist, even after her true identity as a woman is discovered, continues to dress as a man and ventures out into the public sphere of men (e.g.

There were also colouring books, magic colouring books (using water), and pop-up books, and jigsaw puzzles. All of the Toby Twirl artwork was by Edward Jeffrey, with some additional colour-work and puzzle pages by R.S. Clark, one of Jeffrey's friends and artistic colleagues. (Clark, best known for his watercolours, is specially credited with the colour-work for the “annual” Toby Twirl Adventures of 1953.) With Jeffrey's illustrations, Sheila Hodgetts also published two non-Toby-Twirl titles: the fairy tale story, The Sleeping City (1947), in which, of course, a magic spell must be broken to wake a sleeping city; and One Magic Night (1947), in which young Terence ventures out, one magic night, to watch the fairies dance, but is bound in magic cobweb by some unpleasant pixies, until a friend, Rufus, a rabbit, brings the Fairy Queen to rescue the boy.
Unlike in the original text, where the transformation would automatically complete itself once started, the curse in the film occurs gradually. It can also be slowed down or completely stopped by reduced misbehavior or by escaping the island before the transformation completes, as revealed by the fact that Pinocchio decides not to drink beer or smoke any longer (he assumed both were causing him to hallucinate after seeing Lampwick grow his donkey ears and tail), and is able to escape from the island with only a pair of donkey ears and tail and does not transform any further for the rest of the film. This was also a shortcut on the filmmaker's part, in that it allowed the producers to skip over some chapters of the original novel. At some point, Mister Geppetto realizes that Pinocchio is on Pleasure Island and ventures out to sea to rescue him, but is swallowed by Monstro which sets up the climax of the film.

In 2008, Zuckerman appeared in a multi-episode arc, as Mark, on the ABC Family series Kyle XY.
