On June 14, 2012, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service appointed its first civilian director/CEO, Tom Shull, a West Point graduate who previously served as CEO of Wise Foods, Hanover Direct, Barney's New York and Meridian Ventures. On May 8, 2014, Shull drafted a memorandum to the then-acting Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Jessica Wright proposing a plan to allow honorably discharged veterans to shop online at military exchanges. Shull presented a business case for the expanded benefit to the Department of Defense's Executive Resale Board in August 2014, emphasizing the plan's potential to generate more than $100 million for installation quality-of-life programs within three years. The Executive Resale Board voted unanimously to recommend the proposal in August 2016.

Hammer & Tongs is the pseudonym of British director and producer duo, promo and film director Garth Jennings and producer Nick Goldsmith, as well as the name of their production company. Best known for their work on music videos for Blur ("Coffee & TV") and Supergrass ("Pumping on Your Stereo"), Hammer & Tongs have moved on to directing movies, their debut being the 2005 film version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Due to the success of his debut feature Jennings raised £3.5 million to produce Son of Rambow. After making two feature films and many music videos and adverts, the duo announced in July 2012 that they would be taking an extended break from working together in order to pursue different ventures on their own.

Bitter Melon, is an independent 2018 American dark comedy film directed by H.P. Mendoza. It debuted at the 2018 San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival and was released theatrically by ABS-CBN on December 7, 2018 and on home video by Gravitas Ventures on October 1, 2019. The film follows Declan (Jon Norman Schneider) as he returns to his hometown of San Francisco for Christmas only to realize that his second oldest brother, Troy (Patrick Epino) has been ruling the house with fear, physically abusing his wife, Shelly (Theresa Navarro) and emotionally abusing his mother and daughter, Mina (Amelie Anima). When oldest brother Moe (Brian Rivera) arrives to complete the Christmas reunion, the festivities begin as the extended family shows up and the big Filipino Christmas can begin.

On June 4, 2001, Frank Rogers, on behalf of a company to be incorporated, was granted approval from the Canadian Radio- television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to launch a national English-language Category 2 specialty television service called The High School Television Network, described as "devoted to the lifestyles of high school students across Canada. Programming will focus on high school sports (non-professional), drama, music, concerts within the school system, talk and panel shows and news coverage of events pertaining to or affecting the student population. The Adventures of Noko Mashaba is a South African animated sociopolitical satire created by a self-taught animator and university dropout Jonas Lekganyane for Soweto TV, Ekurhuleni TV and YouTube. Intended for any audience, the show is inspired by the American adult animated sitcom South Park and centers around a fictional character – Noko Mashaba – an ordinary guy hailing from the calm streets of Limpopo, who occasionally ventures on extraordinary adventures to unravel mysteries and relive urban legends. On the show Mashaba always finds himself in informative, controversial and attention- grabbing situations. The series was created in early 2013 and premiered on YouTube with one episode called "Noko & the Famous Venda Tree" – an episode about a mythological tree from the deep ends of Venda, South Africa, which supposedly extends men's penises if planted in the right manner.

She wittily critiques the philosophical underpinnings of the institution of marriage in 1700s England, warning women of the dangers of a hasty or ill-considered choice. The Duchess of Mazarine is used as an example of "the dangers of an ill Education and unequal Marriage". Astell argues that education will help women to make better matrimonial choices and meet the challenges of the married state: "She has need of a strong Reason, of a truly Christian and well-temper'd Spirit, of all the Assistance the best Education can give her, and ought to have some good assurance of her own Firmness and Vertue, who ventures on such a Trial".

With the death of Louis XIV seventeen months after Law's arrival, the Duke of Orleans finally presented Law with the opportunity to display his ingenuity. Since, following the devastating War of the Spanish Succession, France's economy was stagnant and her national debt was crippling, Law proposed to stimulate industry by replacing gold with paper credit and then increasing the supply of credit, and to reduce the national debt by replacing it with shares in economic ventures. On 1 May 1716, Law presented a modified version of his centralised bank plan to the Banque Générale which approved a private bank that allowed investors to supply one- fourth of an investment in currency and the other parts in defunct government bonds.

In 2004, the song was covered by Raven- Symoné; her version was played on Radio Disney, but it never received a general commercial release as a single for airplay in other venues. The music video for her version features her and dancing extras interacting with scenes from The Lion King 1½, the video also received frequent airplay on Disney Channel, as well as MTV and BET. "Grazing in the Grass" was sampled by the hip hop duo Nice & Smooth on the track "One, Two and One More Makes Three" from their album Ain't a Damn Thing Changed.

Walker engaged in a number of business ventures on the ranch and leased parts of the ranch to other businessmen, and the enterprises which took place on the ranch represent many of the region's industries at the time. Walker mainly raised cattle and milled lumber on the property, and an English firm mined gold using a cyanide mill; payments from the latter operation allowed Walker to eliminate his debt and purchase additional land for the ranch. Of the remaining historic buildings on the ranch, eleven are from Walker's homestead and his ranching operations, fourteen were part of Walker's sawmill operations, and fourteen are related to the cyanide mill. The ranch also includes five archaeological sites; three of these are remnants of aboriginal settlement in the area and two of these are Arapahoe sites, including a site Walker may have shared with the Arapahoe when he first came to the area. .

Trade as One was formed in 2006 and began operations from a garage in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. It now operates from a warehouse and office in Santa Cruz, CA. Trade as One is based on the premise that Fair Trade is a way to alleviate two major crises in our world - both the crisis of extreme poverty in many parts of the developing world, and the crisis of consumerism in the developed world by enabling people to connect their values and beliefs with the way their money is spent and thus enable positive change. Prior to starting Trade as One, Nathan and Catherine George visited about 25 different ventures on the front lines of poverty that were using business to bring jobs to people otherwise on a dollar a day. What many of these groups needed was access to a market outside their borders, and a fairer footing in world trade.

Up to the late 1940s, much of the progress on marine gas turbines all over the world took place in design offices and engine builder's workshops and development work was led by the British Royal Navy and other Navies. While interest in the gas turbine for marine purposes, both naval and mercantile, continued to increase, the lack of availability of the results of operating experience on early gas turbine projects limited the number of new ventures on seagoing commercial vessels being embarked upon. In 1951, the Diesel-electric oil tanker Auris, 12,290 deadweight tonnage (DWT) was used to obtain operating experience with a main propulsion gas turbine under service conditions at sea and so became the first ocean-going merchant ship to be powered by a gas turbine. Built by Hawthorn Leslie at Hebburn-on- Tyne, UK, in accordance with plans and specifications drawn up by the Anglo- Saxon Petroleum Company and launched on the UK's Princess Elizabeth's 21st birthday in 1947, the ship was designed with an engine room layout that would allow for the experimental use of heavy fuel in one of its high-speed engines, as well as the future substitution of one of its diesel engines by a gas turbine.

Lee Partners. On October 17, 2011, Saban Capital Group acquired 7.5% stake in Jakarta-based Indonesian largest integrated media company, Media Nusantara Citra. In July 2012, Saban Capital Group acquired minority stake in PT MNC Sky Vision Tbk, the largest pay-TV operator in Indonesia which owns Indovision and Top TV. In June 2012, Kidsco Media Ventures LLC, a SCG affiliate, jointly with Konami's 4K Acquisition Corp. purchased some of the key assets of 4Kids Entertainment with Kidsco getting the Dragon Ball Z Kai, Cubix, Sonic X and The CW Network's Saturday Morning programming block contract rights. In August 2012, Saban Capital Group launched a new music publishing division called "Music Ventures". On May 6, 2014, Saban Capital announced the launch of Saban Films, a distribution company that will acquire yearly 8 to 10 feature films for the North American market.
