In "Unhuman Nature," Nick's bloody quest for revenge leads to him becoming a serial killer.

In "Unhuman Nature," Nick continues his bloody quest for revenge, torturing a priest who Arty had confessed to and then brutally murdering him when the priest refuses to break his vows and tell Nick what he knows. Nick then meets with the reporter who covered his family's murders in hopes of learning something useful. At Nick's request, the reporter reveals that a man named Frank Kellogg was the beat cop in Nick's neighborhood at the time of the murders.

The importance of mainstream media when it affects the way that people think, understand and talk about violence within our communities; also when it plays a role in shaking the mentalities and promoting positive images for women who are strong leaders and powerful survivors, yet what media should start highlight is positive masculinity. Many examples show that masculinity is usually represented by negative values such as violence, dominance, cruelty, illegal or unhuman actions. Media are way too often diffusing and showcasing this negative representation. Thus, they are playing a role in the acceptance of the society, by men and women, to these negative values as the norm to depict men and masculinity. ‘Masculinity’ is the ideas of how men and boys should behave.

Abraxas, portrayed by Nelson Leis, is a powerful and sadistic black-eyed demon appearing in season 14 who murdered the family of Lucifer's future vessel Nick. In "Unhuman Nature," Nick tracks down Frank Kellogg, the police officer Abraxas had possessed on the night of the murders to commit them.

Artificial Intelligence has inspired numerous creative applications including its usage to produce visual art. The exhibition "Thinking Machines: Art and Design in the Computer Age, 1959–1989" at MoMA provides a good overview of the historical applications of AI for art, architecture, and design. Recent exhibitions showcasing the usage of AI to produce art include the Google- sponsored benefit and auction at the Gray Area Foundation in San Francisco, where artists experimented with the DeepDream algorithmRetrieved July 29 and the exhibition "Unhuman: Art in the Age of AI," which took place in Los Angeles and Frankfurt in the fall of 2017. In the spring of 2018, the Association of Computing Machinery dedicated a special magazine issue to the subject of computers and art highlighting the role of machine learning in the arts.

In an interview with Warp Records, Ian Anderson of tDR explained that the album's artwork was based on a life-long influence of Anderson's, that of man versus machine. The cover is based on the idea that "[people are] trying to be as effective as machines and do the tasks that we’ve developed machines to do", and that a relatively simple task for a computer but an arduous one for a human is to draw a perfect circle. Anderson remarked that, in a March 2020 interview with Creative Boom editor Katy Cowan, while the duo described Oversteps as their "the most unhuman album" to date, he thought that their material was more organic than their other work by comparison. The artwork was created by staff at tDR who then attempted to create perfect circles by using a variety of materials and sizes.
