The Princes of Savoy were French by race and language and Belvedere remained a French village. But for the majority of the period from 1388 until 1713 the successors of the Red Earl, allied themselves with enemies of France. As a result, the "Pays Nicois" was crossed by hostile armies and subjected to incessant devastation, particularly following the battles between Charles V and Francis 1st (1494–1547). This unhappy situation continued off and on until after the war of Spanish Succession when at the Treaty of Utrecht (1713) Louis XIV of France and Philip V of Spain, on the one hand, and representatives of Queen Anne of Great Britain, the Duke of Savoy, and the United Provinces on the other and divided up Spain's European empire.

Tronji takes place in the CGI-animated universe of Tronjiworld, where creatures known as Tronjis live happily. However, all of that changed when Tronjiworld was struck by a natural disaster, known simply as "Wobble", which caused immense destruction to Tronjiworld by draining away its colour and happiness and causing all Tronjis to cry, and even separated several parts of it away into an area known as The Gap, which is a space-like void filled with asteroids. Each episode follows the Great Eek summoning three children from Peopleworld (the Tronji name for Earth) and enlisting their help in reaching the saddest part of the broken pieces of Tronji and repair the damage done using their special skills, whilst the Great Eek and Tronji-O locate Tronji-I in Peopleworld, who usually materializes within an unhappy situation, in which the Great Eek and Tronji-O will use gem power from the children to fix the situation and therefore use Double Happiness to return the broken pieces back together.

She was also an avid epistler who corresponded assiduously with colleagues and former students alike. Rosario María Gutiérrez Eskildsen never married, explaining, whenever asked, that her desire was to dedicate her life exclusively to her investigative and educational work. Nevertheless, she unexpectedly became the (adoptive) mother of a 17-year-old newly-orphaned teacher, Sergio Gómez Cabello, whose unhappy situation she learned about in 1953 while visiting the elementary school where he taught.
