The extended version on the twelve-inch and CD singles is slightly longer than the album version and features some additional sound effects.
In 1979, American pop artist Cher released a cover version of the song and retitled it as "It's too Late (to Love Me Now)". It was issued as the third single from her fifteenth album Take Me Home in 1979. The song was originally released as a seven- and twelve-inch single respectfully in an LP format. To date, the song is Cher's only major release to country radio.

"Panic" and "Tainted Love" are songs recorded by British experimental music band Coil. These were released in 1985 through Some Bizzare in the UK and Wax Trax! Records in the US respectively, as the band's first single, and the sole one from their 1984 debut studio album, Scatology. Originally released on twelve-inch vinyl discs, the single was regarded as the first AIDS benefit release, and has been reissued several times on compact discs.

Obey the Time was released by Factory Records in December 1990. Unlike previous Durutti Column albums, it failed to chart on the UK Independent Albums Chart. Gershwin's involvement is clearly stated on the album cover, which reads "Recorded under the supervision of the composer." The recordings originally came on 4 twelve-inch 78 rpm shellac records.

The album serves as a collection of several B-sides from earlier singles that were out of print by the time of the collection's release. With the exception of "Serpents", this release complements one of the band's earlier compilations, Twelve Inch Anthology. Not all Skinny Puppy B-sides are represented on this release due to time and label restrictions.
One of the twelve-inch guns at Battery Langdon, after the concrete casemate was completed in 1943. To protect from the threat of German dive bombers, Battery Langdon was casemated in 1943. The 12-inch barbette guns that were in place were kept, but 17 feet of concrete was added to create a bomb proof bunker. The bunker was then covered in sand and dirt to create an artificial hill around the battery, for additional protection.

The Rodman solid shot weighed 618 to 619 pounds and the Atwater solid shot 416 to 535 pounds. The weights of the Parrott projectiles are not recorded. In 1867, at Fort Monroe, the guns were tested with charges varying between 35 and 55 pounds until the guns failed.
The recording was released as a promotional single by Reprise Records on compact disc format for various territories including Germany, the United States and Poland. This was so that loop sidings could be installed at Canterbury South, Barham and Elham. Sidings were also added north of Lyminge and the line through Bourne Park tunnel was relaid as a passing loop. This album is a 1950 recording of selections from George Gershwin's opera Porgy and Bess, sung by the noted opera stars Robert Merrill and Risë Stevens. The album featured no black singers at all, even though the opera was written for a mostly African-American cast (the whites in the opera speak, but do not sing). It was recorded by RCA Victor on September 12 and September 13, 1950. The album was originally released on one twelve-inch 33 rpm LP with the catalog number LM 1124.
The two members began working together in 1986, using samplers and tape loops to fashion collagistic psychedelic pop. In the United Kingdom, Let Them Eat Bingo was released in March 1990 by Go! Discs. Released on CD, cassette and vinyl formats, the CD edition included a bonus twelve-inch version of "For Spacious Lies". In the United States, it was released on 20 April 1990 by Elektra Records and promoted as "an inventive mix of unshakeable pop melodies, world music references, choice sampling and club floor rhythms." A twelve-inch gramophone record Although 7 inches remained the standard size for vinyl singles, 12-inch singles were introduced for use by DJs in discos in the 1970s. The longer playing time of these singles allowed the inclusion of extended dance mixes of tracks. In addition, the larger surface area of the 12-inch discs allowed for wider grooves (larger amplitude) and greater separation between grooves, the latter of which results in less cross-talk. Consequently, they are less susceptible to wear and scratches.
Amid the chaos, Goettel found time to work on his more techno driven solo work, which he made under the pseudonym aDuck. To release his work, he and his friend Phil Western created the independent record label Subconscious Communications. Together, they released the Duck/Philith split twelve-inch single in 1993. Limited to 200 copies, the single featured the aDuck song "Power" on one side, and a song from Western (who used the name Philith) called "My Heart is Being Touched By Christ" on the other.
Sold Out!In March 1986, The Prime Movers embarked on a 15 date UK Tour as special guests of Big Country. "The Seer" Tour was buoyed by the strength of a number seven charting single, "Look Away," and all shows were sold out including two packed nights at London's fabled Hammersmith Odeon. The tour was a huge success and The Prime Mover's "Dark Western Night" was repackaged by Island as a twelve-inch, yellow vinyl, double set with record two being live recordings from the tour.
Rainworth, residence of Sir Augustus Charles Gregory, Bardon, circa 1885 Rainworth is a vernacular, short-ridge roofed house with stepped but straight-roofed verandahs on three sides. The front elevation shows three pairs of French doors, and one on the lefthand side. Early photographs indicate that the rear of each side verandah had been built to form an enclosed pavilion. Most exterior walls are of twelve inch chamfer-boards, while interior walls are lined horizontally with beaded tongue and groove boards, as are the high ceilings.

V/Vm was accused of scamming the Fat Cat Records label by impersonating minimal glitch artist Pole, finally confirmed in a talk alongside Pole at Unsound Festival 2012 in Kraków, Poland. V/Vm also brought back Belgian new beat, creating a microsite and releasing two twelve-inch records and a CD featuring new audio made in this electronic style.
The new line-up recorded the soundtrack to their Feverhouse film, which was released on video by Factory's video offshoot Ikon Video, and the Trouble Hand EP, before Clarke and Kirby left to form Yargo. The album contained five tracks, including an extended version of "Love Power". In 1977, she released Zodiac Lady, a controversial album that Casablanca Records, during the disco heyday, refused at first to release. Imports from Italy swamped the international dance floors, creating a hit for the title track and songs such as "Love Sign". This album spawned a twelve-inch single, "Zodiacs," which had major club and radio play. "Funky Stardust", "Love Sign" and "I’m Sagittarius" were released from that album, in addition to "Zodiacs" itself in different countries.

Critical response to the label's early output was positive, and the first Eastern Conference single, The High & Mighty's "It's All Good / Hands On Experience (feat. Bobbito the Barber & El-P) / Cranial Lumps" quickly reached cult status on the strength of "Hands On Experience", a whimsical ode to masturbation. During its first three years of existence, Eastern Conference continued to release successful twelve-inch singles from the Smut Peddlers, Jurassic 5's Chali 2na, The High & Mighty, and Mad Skillz.

Using funding from the Carnegie Institute, a concrete canal was built in the Hydraulic Laboratory for the study of propellers. Approximately forty-nine twelve inch diameter model propellers with varying pitch and proportion were tested over the course of several years. On October 25, 1903 Robert Thurston died and Durand became acting Director of Sibley College while Cornell searched for a permanent replacement. When A. W. Smith of Stanford University became Director David Starr Jordan, president of Stanford, offered Durand a position at Stanford to replace the vacancy created by the leaving of Smith.
This trend reached its zenith with The Who's use of a dozen JBL 4350 monitors, each capable of 125 dB and containing two fifteen-inch woofers and a twelve-inch mid-bass driver. Most studios, however, also used more modest monitoring devices to check how recordings would sound through car speakers and cheap home systems. A favourite "grot-box" monitor employed in this way was the Auratone 5C, a crude single-driver device that gave a reasonable facsimile of typical lo-fi sound. However, a backlash against the behemoth monitor was soon to take place.
Storm the Studio is the debut album by English electronic music group Meat Beat Manifesto, released on 20 February 1989 by Sweatbox Records in the United Kingdom and later that year by Wax Trax! in the United States. Recorded in three recording studios, the album contains four compositions, each split into separate parts, that mostly originated as twelve-inch singles the band released in 1988. The record's inventive musical style features elements of industrial music, electro, dub, noise rock and hip hop music, and incorporates breakbeats, noise and sporadic rap vocals.
The group's first releases were the twelve inch single "Victory" (Profile, 1990) and "Fry You Like Fish" (Profile, 1990), and the I'm Ready EP (Profile, 1990). This established their jazz-based style of hip hop, influenced by U.S. artists such as Gang Starr. The song "I'm Ready", however, was based on Jimi Hendrix's, "Crosstown Traffic" and showed early on a liking for the harder style that they adopted for later releases. "I'm Ready" was a popular song, and still regularly turns up on hip hop compilation albums today.
The arrangements here are the opposite of what seems sensible," adding that the "material also seems ill-chosen." Reviewing Acid Queen in Christgau's Record Guide: Rock Albums of the Seventies (1981), Robert Christgau said: "Her rock myth reconfirmed cinematically, Tina quickly turns out two from the Who (only fair), two from the Stones (who else?), and one from Led Zep ('Whole Lotta Love,' brilliant, I trust R. Plant has his big twelve-inch in a sling at this very moment). With bass lines lifted whole from the originals the singing almost doesn't matter.
The fireguard consisted of a combination house-office as well as a nearby barn, both constructed of one inch by twelve inch boards and one inch by four inch battens. This recording originally came on 3 ten-inch shellac records, which Decca Records assigned the numbers 23250, 23251 and 23252.

The initial release of 133 recordings were: 85 12-inch classical LPs (ML 4001 to 4085), 26 10-inch classics (ML 2001 to 2026), eighteen 10-inch popular numbers (CL 6001 to 6018), and four 10-inch juvenile records (JL 8001 to 8004). According to the 1949 Columbia catalog, issued September 1948, the first twelve-inch LP was Mendelssohn's Concerto in E Minor by Nathan Milstein on the violin with the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Bruno Walter (ML 4001).
Even though the album sold eight million copies worldwide, it was viewed as a commercial disappointment in the US, with barely two million in sales, compared to the multi-platinum success of Faith (which had been certified 7× Platinum for seven million sales the year before). The album is largely devoted to ballads and folk-styled rock songs, although there are a few dance tracks like "Freedom" and "Soul Free". There was also a remix of "Freedom" that incorporated elements of Soul II Soul's "Back to Life", which was released as a twelve-inch single and received a good deal of club play.
The origins of Taiwan's shadow puppetry can be traced to the Chaochow school of shadow puppet theatre. Commonly known as leather monkey shows or leather shows, the shadow plays were popular in Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung as early as the Qing dynasty (1644-1911 A.D.). Older puppeteers estimate that there were at least a hundred shadow puppet troupes in southern Taiwan in the closing years of the Qing. Traditionally, the eight to twelve-inch puppet figures, and the stage scenery and props such as furniture, natural scenery, pagodas, halls, and plants, are all cut from leather.
When scanned, the code read: "Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa – One Kiss". The following month, both artists announced the song with identical social media posts, revealing the blue cover art and the release date. "One Kiss" was released for digital download and streaming on 6 April 2018, and later released as a twelve-inch single on 20 July 2018, with both releases being through Sony Music and Columbia Records. It was also sent to contemporary hit radio formats in Australia, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States, as well as dance and rhythmic contemporary radio in the latter of the four countries.
The track "Computer Love" was released as a seven-inch single in the UK, in July 1981, backed with "The Model", from the group's previous album The Man-Machine. The single reached in the charts. In December 1981 the two songs were reissued as a double A-side twelve-inch single, and reached on the UK Singles Chart in February 1982, although "The Model" received the most airplay. "Pocket Calculator" was released as a seven-inch single in the US by Warner Brothers in 1981, pressed on a fluorescent yellow/lime vinyl, matching the color of the album cover.
The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks extremist groups, described Francis as an important white nationalist writer known for his "ubiquitous presence of his columns in racist forums and his influence over the general direction of right-wing extremism" in the United States. 1981 saw also the year that it became available in the United Kingdom, as Suzuki began selling cars there that year. In export markets, the Alto name was used for the passenger car versions (chassis codes with trailing letter "S") as well as on commercials (ending in "V"), while the van was marketed as the "Suzuki Hatch" in Australia. The four-doors were not proper hatchbacks, only featuring an opening rear window. Export cars were also available with twelve-inch wheels, unlike the domestic versions which only used ten-inch units until the introduction of the 4WD version in October 1983.
A remastered and expanded version of Rum, Sodomy & the Lash was released for compact disc by WEA in the European market on 11 January 2005; this reissue was released on September 19, 2006, by Rhino Records in the United States. The remastered disc added six bonus tracks, including the entirety of the Poguetry in Motion EP and the b-sides to "Dirty Old Town" – "A Pistol for Paddy Garcia" on seven-inch and "The Parting Glass" on twelve-inch singles. The reissue included liner notes by David Quantick and a poem about the Pogues by Tom Waits.
The armour protection given to the Invincibles the waterline belt measured amidships was only slightly more than half the thickness of 's . The belt was six inches thick roughly between the fore and aft twelve-inch gun turrets, but was reduced to four inches from the fore turret to the bow and did not extend aft of the rear turret. A six-inch bulkhead met the barbette of X turret to fully enclose the armoured citadel. The gun turrets and barbettes were protected by of armour, except for the turret roofs which used of Krupp non-cemented armour (KNC).
When the disc made initial contact with the friction surface, the balls would be forced up the holes forcing the discs further apart and augmenting the braking energy. This made for lighter braking pressure than with calipers, avoided brake fade, promoted cooler running and provided one-third more friction surface than standard Chrysler twelve-inch drums. But because of the expense, the brakes were only standard on the Chrysler Crown Imperial through 1954 and the Town and Country Newport in 1950. They were optional, however, on other Chryslers, priced around $400, at a time when an entire Crosley Hot Shot retailed for $935.
The release of On the Land and in the Sea was announced in the Cardiacs newsletter. The album was released by the band's own label Alphabet Business Concern (ABC) on 2 May 1989 on CD, LP and cassette formats, although was able to be pre-ordered from ABC before that date, and was preceded by the single "Baby Heart Dirt" released on 10 April in seven-inch and twelve-inch formats. All releases were distributed by Pinnacle. Cardiacs' newsletter also offered a signed copy of the album to recipients sending "a morally uplifting motto or proverb" in fewer than nine words.
"Sea And Sky" was later, in 1986, included on the first United Kingdom compact disc versions of the Dreamtime album (Beggars Banquet catalogue number BEGA 57CD) as a bonus track. The B-side to the twelve-inch single is also "Sea And Sky" along with a live version of the Death Cult song "Brothers Grimm". The song was recorded live on 20 May 1984 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, England. Most of the entire live performance from that concert was originally released, on 10 September 1984, on the Dreamtime Live At The Lyceum album sans "Brothers Grimm".
Thus the song is credited as Astbury/Jepson/Burroughs/Qureshi (the members of The Southern Death Cult). The song, along with the entire radio session, was later released on the compact disc collection of Death Cult recordings entitled Ghost Dance. The B-side to the twelve-inch single is also "A Flower in the Desert" along with the song "Bone Bag" (which was recorded during the Dreamtime album sessions). "Bone Bag" (often erroneously spelled "Bonebag") was later, in 1986, included on the first United Kingdom compact disc versions of the Dreamtime album (Beggars Banquet catalogue number BEGA 57CD) as a bonus track.
This release was packaged with a cover depicting four naked men, seemingly taking a sunbath. The single, mainly its B-side “Cold Life”, had achieved immediate success on both dancefloor and college radio in the US and the UK.; ; . By September 1982, “I’m Falling / Cold Life” reached number 5 on the charts of New York-based magazine Rockpool and peaked at number 45 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Disco chart with approximately 10,000 copies, and was later labelled the Wax Trax!' first hit. "Cold Life" was featured on the band's 1987 compilation Twelve Inch Singles (1981–1984), with "I'm Falling" appearing on the compilation's 2014 re-release.
Billboard began an album chart in 1945. Initially only five positions long, the album chart was not published on a weekly basis, sometimes three to seven weeks passing before it was updated. A biweekly (though with a few gaps), 15-position Best-Selling Popular Albums chart appeared in 1955. With the increase in album sales as the early 1950s format wars stabilized into market dominance by 45 RPM singles and long- playing twelve-inch albums, with 78 RPM record and long-playing ten-inch album sales decreasing dramatically, Billboard premiered a weekly Best-Selling Popular Albums chart on March 24, 1956. The position count varied anywhere from 10 to 30 albums.

Knyaz Suvorovs steering was later repaired, but she blundered between the Japanese and Russian fleets several times later in the battle and Mikasa fired three torpedoes at her to no avail. Later in the battle, the ship appears to have fired mostly on the battleship although fired the shots that caused the Russian ship's magazines to explode and sink her. At 18:04, a twelve-inch shell detonated prematurely in the barrel of the right gun of the forward turret, disabling the gun and knocking out the left gun until 18:40.

When in place, the firing pin is held retracted into the base cap by the camshaft spring, being compressed between the camshaft and the camshaft lock. When the change lever is turned to "safe", the firing pin is locked "down", the firing pin cam is locked "out", and the mortar will not fire. When the change lever is turned to "fire", the pin is in the "down" position, but the cam now has free movement.
In 1986 Expansion released its first twelve-inch record with the catalogue ref: EXPAND1 (in 1986) - "Love Me Anyway" by US band WQBC (via a distribution deal with PRT). In 2004, Graphic Designer & DJ Simon Strutt rebranded the Expansion Records identity and created the 'e' logo to brand stamp each music release. In 2010 Expansion released EXPAND100 ("Weatherman" by Adriana Evans). At various times in its 25-year history artists that have signed to Expansion have included Leon Ware, Stephanie Mills, Leroy Hutson, Angie Stone, Gwen McCrae, Howard Hewett, Keni Burke, Lenny Williams, Rick James, Ronnie McNeir, Evelyn ‘Champagne’ King, Maysa to name a few.
The Kenwood Astrophysical Observatory was the personal observatory of George Ellery Hale, constructed by his father, William E. Hale, in 1890 at the family home in the Kenwood section of Chicago.Kenwood Astrophysical Observatory Buildings, Instruments, Equipment, Grounds It was here that the spectroheliograph, which Hale had invented while attending MIT, was first put to practical use; and it was here that Hale established the Astrophysical Journal. Kenwood's principal instrument was a twelve-inch refractor, which was used in conjunction with a Rowland grating as part of the spectroheliograph. Hale hired Ferdinand Ellerman as an assistant; years later, the two would work together again at the Mount Wilson Observatory.
Amidst these successes, the label continued to release positively received twelve-inch singles, including Mad Skillz' "Ghostwriter" and Cage's "Suicidal Failure". When Eastern Conference's two-year contract to Rawkus was up, Mighty Mi made the decision to sever ties with Rawkus and continue to "build independently", without releasing records under a major label. He soon found a distributor (Landspeed Records, who had released the first Eastern Conference All-Stars), and quickly began releasing material. The first release under Landspeed was, fittingly, Eastern Conference All Stars II, an all-new compilation featuring music from Jurassic 5, Big Daddy Kane, Reef the Lost Cauze, Tame 1, and The Last Emperor.
As part of Capitol's shift in marketing strategy for Duran Duran to develop into a dance band over the course of 1982 (in a bid to shift more units of the Rio album), it was decided to release an EP of remixed tracks in various territories globally to capitalise on increased night-club play and to try to replicate that success on radio. Part of this strategy also involved producer David Kershenbaum remixing various Rio tracks. Most of these remixes also appeared on the Carnival release as well as various twelve-inch singles. The demand for Duran Duran material during the autumn of 1982 was quite high.
In 1990, Spider One dropped out of art school, bought a cheap 4-track home studio and drum machine and recorded twelve-inch single Much Evil with producer Lamar Lowder. Building on local success, including winning the Boston Phoenix/WFNX 1990 Readers' Poll "Best Rap Act" category and getting nominated for a Boston Music Award, Powerman 5000 was born in 1991. Drummer Al Pahanish Jr., bassist Dorian Heartsong and guitarist Adam 12 joined the band, and percussionist Jordan Cohen joined solidifying the early lineup. In 1993, the band released an independent EP titled A Private Little War, which was limited to 500 copies and only sold at shows.
Duran Duran on stage The United States and Canada version was first released on Capitol's Harvest Records label and had the same songs and mixes as the UK version, but did not perform well on the US Billboard chart. Meanwhile, the band had worked with producer David Kershenbaum to create some new dance mixes for their twelve-inch club singles. In September, EMI collected the remixes and released them on an EP called Carnival. It included the songs "Rio", "Hold Back the Rain", "My Own Way", "Hungry Like the Wolf", and "New Religion", and was released in the United States, Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, Japan and Taiwan.
Notorious for dissing rappers in his previous recordings, Hammer appropriately titled his third album (and second major- label release) Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em, which was released February 12, 1990 (with an original release date of January 1, 1990). It included the successful single "U Can't Touch This" (which sampled Rick James' "Super Freak"). It was produced, recorded, and mixed by Felton Pilate and James Earley on a modified tour bus while on tour in 1989. Despite heavy airplay and a No. 27 chart debut, "U Can't Touch This" stopped at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart because it was released only as a twelve-inch single.
As one of the first techno producers to hail from Benelux, Rotterdam-based Jochem Paap began creating music as a techno producer and nightclub disc jockey, and chose the pseudonym Speedy J in reference to his prowess as a DJ. He established a fan base with the release of the acid techno twelve-inch singles including "Three O'Three" and "Something for Your Mind." His profile rose when two of his tracks were included on the compilation Artificial Intelligence (1992), including "De-Orbit," which went on to feature on Ginger. Paap recorded Ginger, his debut album, at The Boiler. He wrote and produced the album alone.
Muzik made note of the album's "cinematic techno" sound, while Heath K Hignight of Cleveland Scene felt the album was "a dynamic dance-listening hybrid album." In an interview with The List, Paap described his influences as dance music's "black roots", such as Arthur Baker's twelve-inch remixes and jazz-funk from the late 1970s and early 1980s. The album was the first in the Artificial Intelligence series to use interlude tracks (described by writer Tyler Bowles as 'vignettes'); these tracks are titled "Fill" with a seemingly random number suffixed. Muzik described the opening track "Ginger" as having an "almost physical presence," describing it as "[gradually] filling the room".
"All Day" and "(Every Day Is) Halloween" are songs by American band Ministry, both written and produced by Al Jourgensen. These were originally released by Wax Trax! Records in 1984 as Ministry's “comeback” single following their departure from Arista Records, with "All Day" on the A-side and "(Every Day Is) Halloween" on the B-side, respectively. In 1987, these were included on Ministry's compilation Twelve Inch Singles (1981–1984). The remixed version of "All Day", titled “All Day Remix”, was featured on Ministry's 1986 album Twitch. “(Every Day Is) Halloween” has been featured in the 1998 Rhino Records compilation Just Can't Get Enough: New Wave Halloween.
The band was formed by Alex Novak (vocals, formerly of Religious Overdose, Attrition, and The Tempest) and John Novak (guitar, vocals, formerly Where's Lisse?), and Tony Booker on bass guitar prior to their debut twelve-inch single "Morphine" in March 1988.Strong, Martin C. (2003) The Great Indie Discography, Canongate, , p. 556 A further single followed later that year - the three-track Desolation Railway 12 inch EP - before they signed to French label Danceteria and released their debut mini album Mars in 1988, collecting tracks from the earlier singles alongside several new numbers. The band's lineup changed frequently, with key members including guitarists Curtis Johnson and John Novak, Dave Freak (guitar, percussion, vocals) and Chris Evans (bass).
It received a rating of 8.5 out of 10 from music criticism site pitchfork.com. Beyond full-length records, Yume Bitsu released two vinyl EPs: a split 12-inch vinyl EP with Andrew Reiger of Elf Power was released in 2002 on Planaria Records and Wabi Morning, a one- sided twelve-inch, was released in 2003 on Burnt Toast Vinyl. Recordings of live shows from 2002 (originally available as the fourth side of the vinyl version of 2002's Golden Vessyl of Sound) were released by States Rights Records in 2002. Vocalist and guitarist Adam Forkner is active as White Rainbow and was part of Surface of Eceon, a group which featured Forkner along with members of Landing.
"Rip It Up" was released as a single in the UK in February 1983. The seven inch vinyl version of the single was available in three versions, a double pack including a second seven-inch and a fold out poster, along with two versions of the standard release, initially with a silver injection moulded labels, and then subsequently with paper printed labels. The song was also released on twelve inch vinyl, with extended versions of the title track and B-side. All versions were housed in a paper sleeve depicting a US P-40 Warhawk fighter plane (decorated with eyes and teeth) partially submerged, tail first, in the sea, drawn by Edwyn Collins.
Music for Stowaways was released concurrently with the debut single by Heaven 17 (pictured). Music for Stowaways was released by Virgin Records in the United Kingdom on 31 March 1981 as a limited edition of 10,000 cassette copies, each copy being numbered and retailed at a price of £3.99. It was released concurrently with Heaven 17's first single, "(We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang", a vocal version of the Stowaways track "Groove Thang". The single was originally issued as a seven-inch and twelve-inch single and later re-released as a three-inch CD, all formats featuring the Music for Stowaways track "Decline of the West" as a B-side.
A group of eight popular Victor artists, Billy Murray, Frank Banta, Henry Burr, Albert Campbell, Frank Croxton, John Meyer, Monroe Silver, and Rudy Wiedoeft gathered to record "A Miniature Concert". Several takes were recorded by the old acoustical process, then additional takes were recorded electrically for test purposes. The electrical recordings turned out well, and Victor issued the results that summer as the two sides of twelve inch 78 rpm record Victor 35753. Victor's first electrical recording to be issued was Victor 19626, a ten inch disc consisting of two numbers recorded on March 16, 1925 from the University of Pennsylvania's thirty-seventh annual production of the Mask and Wig Club, issued in April, 1925.
Devil Eyes was a secret psychological warfare program in 2005–2006 by the United States Central Intelligence Agency to develop an Osama bin Laden action figure and distribute it in South Asia. The CIA worked in conjunction with toymaker Donald Levine, a former Hasbro executive who has been credited as the "father" of G.I. Joe toys. Levine designed a twelve-inch lifelike figure of bin Laden whose face was painted with a material that, when heated, would peel off to reveal a demon-like visage with red skin, green eyes and black markings. The goal of the program was to scare children and their parents in an effort to turn public opinion against the real bin Laden.
"A Girl Called Johnny" had been released both as a seven-inch and as a 12-inch single in March 1983, preceding the album by four months. The song, a tribute to Patti Smith, "narrowly failed" to become a hit. The B-side on the seven-inch was "The Late Train to Heaven", the "Rockfield mix" of which was eventually released on a re-issue of A Pagan Place, the group's next album. The twelve-inch contained "Ready for the Monkey House", the Another Pretty Face song "Out of Control" and an acoustic version of "Somebody Might Wave Back", the last of which would appear in a full studio version on A Pagan Place.
Virgin Records released Drill Your Own Hole in the UK on 6 June 1987, while Caroline Records released the album in the United States. The album cover and lyric sheet were designed by cartoonist Ray Lowry, who was known for his artworks being published in the British music press. It was a mild success, reaching number 95 on the UK Albums Chart and staying on the chart for one week. Virgin released "Git Down (Shake Your Thang)" as the album's first single in October 1987 on seven and twelve-inch vinyl, backed with the B-side "Tolchocked By Kenny Pride," reaching number 54 on the UK Singles Chart and charting for three weeks.
Barber's Symphony No. 2 has been recorded by over a dozen orchestras. A 1951 recording of the 1947 revised version of Symphony No. 2 is available by the New Symphony Orchestra with Samuel Barber conducting. The monaural recording was originally released on a ten-inch LP by London Records, who reissued it in 1956 on a twelve-inch disc, coupled with the ballet suite from Medea. This coupling was again reissued in 1970 on Everest Records, and in 1965 a new pairing of the symphony with Barber's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, conducted by Barber with the same orchestra and Zara Nelsova, cello, was issued in London on the Ace of Clubs imprint of Decca Records.
Impressed by the demo, Nash offered to record its material professionally and to assemble the touring band, which Jourgensen named Ministry. In Chicago- based Hedden West studios, Jourgensen, with co-producers Jay O'Roarke and Iain Burgess, recorded Ministry's first recording, a twelve-inch single featuring tracks "I'm Falling", "Primental" and "Cold Life". Simultaneously, Jourgensen assembled the band's first live line-up, the five-piece group including Jourgensen himself on vocals and guitar, bassist Martin Sorenson, keyboardists Robert Roberts and John Davis, and drummer Stephen George. Jourgensen and Roberts state that their mutual friend Paul Taylor had to perform in the original line-up, but, according to Jourgensen, refused after getting sick and proposed to invite Roberts instead.

However the guitars are more prominent on the EP mix, and the keyboard and bass are quieter in some places.
Robin Taylor-Firth is a British musician notable for performance, songwriting and production on various projects including Nightmares on Wax, Olive, Backyard Dog, and BudNubac. His recording career began in the early 90s with a series of twelve-inch singles pressed by Dislocated Hip Records, under the artistic name 'On'. Picked up in 1993 by Warp Records' sub-label, Nucleus, Taylor-Firth began a relationship with Sheffield-based Warp Records which continues via his membership of Nightmares on Wax to the present day. Though less present in Nightmares on Wax of late, he was a major part of the earlier works, such as Smoker's Delight, Car Boot Soul and Mind Elevation, co producing and co-writing many of the themes.

Fondle 'Em's best known artist was arguably MF DOOM, the assumed name of former KMD member Zev Love X. Bobbito's relationship with MF DOOM had begun in the early 1990s, through common friends and "Constipated Monkey" family member Kurious Jorge, who had released an album entitled A Constipated Monkey through Bobbito's first imprint Hoppoh Records, and Lord Sear, a common fixture on Bobbito and Stretch's radio show. The label issued Zev's first two MF DOOM singles in 1997, with a second following in 1998 and a full-length, entitled Operation: Doomsday in 1999. During the same period of time, the label issued unreleased KMD material from the Black Bastards sessions (a period from 1993 to 1994) in the form of two twelve-inch singles and an EP entitled Black Bastards Ruffs + Rares.

Deutsche Grammophon also issued a 115-minute film edited from the same two semi-staged concerts at which the album was recorded, including intercut footage of New York City in the 1940s as well as an encore, dialogue and interlinking narration by Comden and Green that were omitted from the CD. The film was made available as both a VHS cassette (catalogue number 072 197-3) and a twelve-inch analogue video Laserdisc (catalogue number 072 197-1), but has not yet been issued as either a DVD or a Blu-ray.
Swindon-based Meat Beat Manifesto began in 1987 when Jack Dangers and Jonny Stephens of the pop group Perennial Divide – who they had formed in 1986 and recorded the album Purge (1986) with – began releasing electronic side-project twelve-inch singles under the Meat Beat Manifesto name on Perennial Divide's label Sweatbox Records, the first of which was "Suck Hard" (1987). Though the story was something of a rumour for many years, Jack Dangers confirmed the story of the fire in a 2010 interview. The band recorded Storm the Studio, their replacement debut album, at The Slaughterhouse in South Yorkshire, F2 Studios in London and at Drive Studios.
