Tucker went to Gbap, Sierra Leone, in 1665 alongside Thomas Corker who was the ancestor of the Sherbro Caulkers the most notorious slave trading family in the Upper Guinea Coast. John Tucker married a Sherbro princess and together they had many children. The Sherbro Tuckers became a powerful slave trading clan and chiefdom in Gbap and many of them went to university in Europe as early as the 18th century. In 1694 John Tucker signed the commission for the 1694 voyage of the Amity captained by Thomas Tew.

After a short stay, Tucker steamed to Hawaii in November as part of Task Force19, operating again in the Hawaiian Islands. Shortly afterward, she put into Pearl Harbor for an overhaul by a destroyer tender. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941, Tucker was one of five destroyers moored at berth X–9, East Loch, alongside the destroyer tender . Even before Tuckers general quarters alarm could be sounded, one of her on- deck sailors began firing a 50-caliber machine gun at the first wave of Japanese aircraft.

Settling in just of water, the ship was easily accessible to private salvors, who harvested anything of value, ransacking and further scattering Tuckers remains. Sport divers also had a destructive effect on the site, which by 1997 resembled an "underwater junkyard". Mike Gerken, an underwater photojournalist, dove the Tucker wreckage site several times; in 2013 he eulogized Tucker and other sunken ships: Tucker and SS President Coolidge, a troopship, suffered similar fates less than three months apart; both were sunk in different locations of the same U.S. Navy minefield, and both later became diving sites.

Tabitha dresses Moppet and Mittens in clean pinafores and tuckers, and Tom in "all sorts of elegant uncomfortable clothes" taken from a chest of drawers. Tom is fat and bursts several buttons, but his mother sews them back on again. Tabitha turns her kittens into the garden to keep them out of the way while she makes hot buttered toast for the party. She tells them to keep their frocks clean and keep away from the pigsty, the dirty ash pit, Sally Henny Penny, and the Puddle-Ducks, and then returns to her work.

The O'Briens introduced the torpedo to the US destroyer force, but the number of tubes remained at eight. In the Sampsons, torpedo armament was increased to twelve 21 inch (533 mm) tubes by replacing the twin mounts with triple mounts. The subsequent "flush deck" types retained the gun and torpedo armament of the Sampsons on a new hull with displacement increased by about 100 tons, and with a new engineering plant. The thousand tonners also debuted US destroyer anti-aircraft armament: two 1-pounder (37 mm) autocannons were specified for the Tuckers but not fitted until the Sampsons.

The history of the Jubilee began in Norco, California in the early 70's. Tuckers, David "Russ" and Maureen Russell, Steve and Sandy Perault and Christianson each had a hand in making it a success before it ever moved to and including Victorville. The Huck Finn Jubilee Bluegrass Music Festival was founded by Don Tucker and his family in 1976 and was eventually held at the Mojave Narrows Regional Park in Victorville, California, on Father's Day weekend. The festival, which at first featured mostly local talent as the bluegrass entertainment, achieved success in its first few years, with attendance as high as 7,000.

Born in Richmond, Virginia, on November 9, 1846, Beverley Dandridge Tucker was one of eight children of Nathaniel Beverley Tucker (then a journalist and printer) and his second wife, Jane Shelton Ellis (1820-1901). The Tuckers (and Dandridges) were among the First Families of Virginia, owned plantations and enslaved people, and were proud of their descent from English ancestors. George Tucker of County Kent, England, emigrated to Bermuda about the year 1619, and his descendant, the lawyer and judge St. George Tucker (Tucker's great-grandfather), moved from Bermuda to Virginia in about 1770.Lyon Gardiner Tyler, editor.

Uley Brewery was established in the 1980s, in a Grade II listed building that had been part of the 1833 Price Brewery which closed at the end of the 19th century. The brewery was purchased and refitted by current owner Chas Wright, complete with custom-made brewing vessels. The brewery is situated above a natural spring, and uses Maris Otter barley malt (sourced from Tuckers Maltings, Newton Abbot), Fuggles and Goldings hops, and a traditional method of top fermentation. Its range of ales includes Old Spot Prize Ale, a 5% abv old ale, and Uley Bitter, a 4% abv cask bitter.

Charleston (in what was then the Province of Carolina), where he was to die, had been settled from Bermuda under William Sayle in 1670, and many Bermudian families long remained prominent there. Notable among these was the Atlantic archipelago's Tucker family, which included Thomas Tudor Tucker and several notable Henry Tuckers. Reuben Henry Tucker III's paternal line, however, actually traces back to Robert Tucker, born in 1604 in Gravesend, Kent, England, who died in Milton, Massachusetts in 1682. Reuben Henry Tucker III was born in 1911 to Reuben Henry Tucker, Jr. and his wife, Clare ( Booth).

No deaths happened; the worst injury was a child knocked unconscious by falling debris outside his home. Damage was confined to Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and south- central Iowa, and largely consisted of fallen chimneys, foundation cracks, collapsed parapets, and overturned tombstones. In one home in Dale, Illinois, near Tuckers Corners and southwest of McLeansboro, the quake cracked interior walls, plaster, and chimneys. Using a type of victim study, the local post office surveyed residents and implemented a field inspection, which indicated the strongest shaking (MM VII) took place in the Wabash Valley, Ohio Valley, and other nearby south-central Illinois lowlands.

The previous software license used by Sun for its open source projects was the Sun Public License (SPL), also derived from the Mozilla Public License. The CDDL license is considered by Sun (now Oracle) to be SPL version 2. The CDDL was developed by a Sun Microsystems team (among them Solaris kernel engineer Andrew TuckerOpen source licenses, IP, and CDDL on Andrew Tuckers blog, "as one of the drafters of the CDDL I can at least comment on what the license says, and on our intentions in creating it." (Tuesday April 12, 2005) and Claire Giordano), based on the MPL version 1.1.

One-of-a-kind automobiles include a 1936 Duesenberg 12 cylinder Gentlemen's Speedster, a 1920 Carroll, and a 1916 Scripps-Booth. The Swigart Museum is the only automobile museum in the country where visitors can see two Tuckers side-by-side, the 1947 "Tin Goose" Prototype and #1013. Along with automobiles, the museum's other collections including automotive artwork, bicycles, antique toys, vintage clothing, spittoons, license plates, radiator caps, automobile lights and horns, automobilia and other related items. The museum is open daily from Memorial Day weekend through the end of October, and hosts many car-related events.

Upon arriving in Sherbro Country, John Tucker and Zachary Rogers took the daughters of a Sherbro chief as their wives as was customary in order to gain trading rights in the region. Being a matrilineal society, the descendants of John Tucker were able to maintain claims to the chieftaincy throne. The children of John Tucker and the Sherbro princess gained control of their mother's kingdom and utilised their father's name. Politically, the Tuckers would become one of the most influential and prominent Sherbro families during the 17th and 18th centuries, and were able to expand their powerful chiefdom into other territories.

Wallis' trail began at the Old Bailey in June 2015, he was represented by Phil Smith of Tuckers Solicitors; He denied the charges against him. On 1 July 2015, Wallis was unanimously cleared by the jury after it had spent four days considering the charges against him. Speaking outside the court Wallis said he was feeling "very emotional", adding that the case against him had been part of a "vicious politically driven campaign" against the press. He claimed that fighting the claims against him had cost him his life savings, damaged his health and career, and taken a toll on his family.

The modified Cord transmission was named the Tucker Y-1 (Ypsilanti-1) and was installed in a few Tuckers. Both also used a Bendix designed electric vacuum shift mechanism with no mechanical linkage to the steering column shift lever. These EVS's had problems of their own with electrical connections and vacuum leaks that hindered shifting, so a new fully mechanical shift design would have been needed, had the Tucker made it into 1949, and beyond. Fairbrass was born in Mile End Hospital in East London, the son of a machinist dressmaker and stevedore docker, Jack and Maureen Fairbrass. After being expelled from Eaglesfield Boys Comprehensive in Woolwich at 15, Fairbrass successfully auditioned for the National Youth Theatre. He then worked as a roofer's labourer for the following years, while managing to land an agent. After a few years of doing walk-on roles in Emmerdale, Three Up Two Down, and Shelley, Fairbrass made his first real TV appearance as an actor in the 1984 BBC television series Big Deal as Nev in the episode "Fighting chance" followed by another BBC role in Tuckers Luck.

They then spend the rest of the night stalking around the house and spying on her through the window. Meanwhile, Harry gets drunk and falls asleep in his car, where he has a nightmare of Jennifer and Jack having sex, which drives him to rush home and confront them. In his absence, Dolly makes a pass at Bill, who rejects her, but agrees to keep her secret and offers to drive her home. Route 50 continues east through neighbourhoods to cross over Route 3A (Team Gushue Highway) without an interchange and have an intersection with Goldstone Street. It now enters a business district as it passes by the Avalon Mall to have an intersection with The Parkway (Columbus Drive/Prince Phillip Drive). The highway now curves to the curves to the south and comes to an end shortly thereafter at an intersection between Kenmount Road and Freshwater Road (former Route 1). A small section of Thorburn Road branches off of Tuckers Hill Road (Route 41) toward Broad Cove, though this part becomes Thorpes Road before reaching the cove.

The name of the parish means "the settlement of Hemmi's (or Hemma's) people". The parishes of Hardington and Hemington were part of the Kilmersdon Hundred, while Foxcote was part of the Wellow Hundred. On the village green in Faulkland and at several other sites throughout the village there are standing stones of unknown origin. Between two of the stones are the 16th or 17th-century village stocks. There are two pubs in the village: The Faulkland Inn, which dates from the early 19th century, and the historic Tuckers Grave which was probably built in the early 18th century and is one of the few remaining 'Parlour' pubs with no bar counter.

Hamilton graduated from Gettysburg College, then attended graduate school in history at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a Ph.D. degree. He and his wife, Christina, then moved to St. Peters, Missouri, where he got a job at Lindenwood University They had two children, Thomas, born in 1993 and Jacob, born in 1997. They then moved to Newport News, Virginia, where Hamilton was hired as an associate professor of history at Christopher Newport University. After seven years of writing, editing, and submitting, his first book, The Making and Unmaking of a Revolutionary Family: The Tuckers of Virginia, 1752–1830 was published by University of Virginia Press in 2008.

A pathway extension to the north (from Tuckers Road to Main North Road) is under design and was in the 2009-19 Long Term Plan prior to the Canterbury earthquakes. A feasibility study commissioned by Christchurch City Council also covered an extension to the suburb of Belfast, and possible links to the proposed Northern Arterial Highway Corridor. South, there are plans in the next decade to continue the pathway along the railway line through Riccarton across Riccarton Road and on to Blenheim Road and the Christchurch railway station. Longer-term, the current city transport strategic plan envisages linking this corridor with others along the railway lines to the west and southeast.

The Tuckers are Craig's family. The family consists of Craig, his insanely tall, portly, redheaded father, Thomas Tucker, who is balding with an orange semi-mohawk, his mother, Laura Tucker, and his younger sister Tricia Tucker. Little is known of them except that flipping one another the middle finger appears to be the family norm. Craig's family's tendency for flipping each other off has been heavily ingrained into Craig, who for the first several seasons is implied to have been sent to either the principal's or counselor's office on a daily basis because of the habit, which has largely faded out of view since the sixth season.

Orlinda was incorporated in 1965, and was originally called Crockers Crossroads until they had to change the name due to the area's proximity to Tuckers Crossroads, Tennessee. The name Centervile was proposed, but denied as a Centerville, Tennessee already existed, so the name Orlinda was proposed as no other community in the United States used that name. In October 2000, the Orlinda City Hall and Post Office opened at its present-day location on Highway 52. Prior to this, the City Hall was located at the former Bank of Orlinda building, which was built in 1909, and is now the city's public library, which opened in 2003.

The Booth-Tuckers' primary work was prison visitation and carrying out the farm colony experiment for urban poor envisaged in William Booth's book In Darkest England And The Way Out. In 1903, at the age of 43, Emma Booth-Tucker died of a fractured skull and internal injuries in a train accident on her way from Amity Colony, Colorado to Chicago, where she was going to meet her husband. Her funeral service was held at the Carnegie Music Hall in New York City on 1 November 1903, and she was buried at the Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, New York. Emma Booth-Tucker died leaving a husband and six children.

Sam's friend Tim offers to help get him a factory job that pays the attractive wage of seven dollars a day, but Sam remains determined to succeed as a farmer. Soon the family's prayers are answered when Harmie, who owns the local general store, and Tim arrive in Harmie's flatbed truck with a milk cow, which young Daisy names "Uncle Walter." The family's cotton crop and the much-needed vegetable garden they planted finally begin to flourish. Meanwhile, the embittered Devers and his strange nephew Finley plot to ruin the Tuckers so Devers can buy the tenant farm for a cheaper price from its owner.

In return for the fish and the bragging rights that he was the one who caught it, Devers agrees to give Sam his garden and allow him continued access to his well, a deal that effectively puts an end to the trouble between the two families. Harmie now marries Sam's mother, and a party is held at his general store to celebrate the wedding. Life at last seems to offer true promise for the Tuckers on that joyful occasion.

The Tuckers lived at Blandome from 1872 to 1875, as Tucker continued teaching and became the first dean of the new Washington and Lee University Law School. Tucker resigned from W&L; to represent Virginia's 6th congressional district (the northern Shenandoah Valley and his native Winchester, Virginia) in the U.S. House of Representatives. He delivered an annual lecture series at W&L;, and also maintained a home and legal practice in Washington, D.C. during that decade. In 1889, after declining to seek re- election to Congress, Tucker returned to the W&L; Law School as Professor of Equity, Commercial, Constitutional and International Law (and also helped confer an honorary degree upon Col.

In late 1877, deputy sheriff Tucker was appointed Captain of a company of thirty mercenary gunmen from Silver City, that were hired to fight for Charles Kerber of the "Salt Ring", the Sheriff of El Paso County, in the Salt War. The mining interests funding them were interested in a reliable supply of salt for refining their silver ore. Included among the company members was the outlaw John Kinney. Tuckers unit along with elements of the Texas Rangers and U.S. Army was involved in fighting at San Elezario where suspected members of the Mexican "mob" of the "Anti-Salt Ring" there were killed and a large portion of the population fled across the border into Mexico.

Particularly in the Southern Sierra Leone slave trade, members of Afro-European clans such as the Rogers, the Caulkers, and the Tuckers played an integral role as middlemen, allowing them to accumulate material wealth as an emergent merchant class. In the mid-19th Century, The American Missionary Association joined the British colonial project by evangelizing in the Hinterland, with a zeal spurred on by The Amistad Revolt. On land granted to Sengbe Pieh and the Amistad returnees, the association would go on to establish an American Mission School in territory under the control of Sherbro Chief Harry Tucker. Graduates of such schools would go on to secondary schools such as Albert Academy and The Harford School in Moyamba.

The firm was formed in 1980 by Barry Tucker, its founding partner, and from its earliest days it devoted much of its practise to criminal defence, although it has since diversified into a full-service law firm that provides legal advice to a wide range of clients across many practice areas including civil litigation and immigration. In the early 2010, the firm began to move away from pure legally aided criminal defence work towards private client, merging with other criminal practises around the country. It continued to expand throughout northern England and as far north as Manchester. By 2016 Tuckers have employed more than 200 lawyers in over 12 offices throughout London, Kent, Manchester and Birmingham.

Tucker was born on May 10, 1819 near Camak, Georgia and died on September 9, 1889 in Athens, the son of Germain Tucker (1794-1821) and his wife Frances Henrietta (born Holcombe). After the early death of Germain Tucker, his widow married a Mr. Hoff and spent many years in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before returning to Georgia. Henry Holcombe Tucker's paternal grandfather, Isaiah Tucker, had been born in Amherst, Virginia, and was himself the grandson of Francis Tucker of St. George's, Bermuda, who had emigrated to, and married in, Virginia. The Tucker's of Bermuda are a prominent family in the British Overseas Territory, that date back to the 1616 appointment of Daniel Tucker as Governor of Bermuda, and the family included many other prominent Henry Tuckers.

In September 2003, Raissi announced he was suing the FBI and the Department of Justice for $10 million over claims that his life had been ruined by his being branded a terrorist and that he was unable to find work. The suit, carried by Richard Egan and Jules Carey of Tuckers Solicitors, alleges false imprisonment, false arrest, malicious prosecution, malicious continuation of prosecution, abuse of process, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence in infliction of emotional distress. Amnesty International's Paul Hoffman was one of the lawyers handling the case. Raissi launched a civil suit against the Mail on Sunday for printing false information about criminal charges he faced, and citing the fact that airlines will not hire him because of the accusations against him.

According to some scholars, the only Sierra Leonean ethnic group whose culture is similar (in terms of its embrace of Western culture) are Westernized members of the Sherbro people. Because some of the Sherbro interacted with Portuguese and English traders and intermarried with them in the mid-fifteenth to eighteenth centuries (producing Afro-European clans such as the Sherbro Tuckers and Sherbro Caulkers), some of the Sherbro have a more westernized culture than that of other Sierra Leone ethnic groups. As Creoles settled in places such as Bonthe for trading and missionary purpses, the Creoles intermarried with their allies the Sherbros from as far back as the 18th century. However, since the independence of Sierra Leone, all ethnic groups in Sierra Leone have been inter-marrying increasingly.

Governor Tucker's personal boat was reportedly stolen by five islanders, one named Saunders, who left a note saying they were on their way to England, or Davy Jones' Locker, either place being preferable to Bermuda under Tucker's rule. On reaching England, they complained about the harshness of Tucker's rule, though their complaints fell on deaf ears. Governor Tucker also, reportedly, used his oversight of the surveying of Bermuda to enrich himself and future generations of Bermudian Tuckers with prime real estate when he appropriated the overplus (surplus) land left after Richard Norwood's 1616 survey of the colony. Much of this land, forming an estate known as The Grove, would still be in the hands of his relatives during the American War of Independence.

While on the interstate in this area, around six tractor-trailers were blown from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes, resulting in the interstate being closed for around 12 hours. Further east, a sixth person was killed in a building along Eastgate Boulevard, although it was never confirmed if this death was directly related to the tornado. The last area of EF3-strength damage was observed to warehouses along Eastgate Boulevard before the tornado weakened to EF2 intensity, producing more damage across Highway 109 and along Leeville Pike and Tuckers Gap Road. Extensive tree damage occurred in this area, and multiple well-built homes had their roofs ripped off, a few of which sustained some collapse of exterior walls.

The Tucker class was the fourth of the five classes of "thousand tonners". The earlier Cassin- (DD-43 to DD-46), Aylwin- (DD-47 to DD-50) and O'Brien-class (DD-51 to DD-56) ships were about shorter than the Tucker ships and had a lower displacement, between less than the median displacement of the Tuckers; the later Sampson-class (DD-63 to DD-68) ships were the same length and displaced more. All five classes were armed with four guns, but the torpedo size and complement varied. All were equipped with four twin torpedo tubes loaded with eight torpedoes except for the Sampsons (which had four triple tubes carrying twelve torpedoes), but the Cassin and Aylwin classes were armed with torpedoes; the rest with torpedoes.

As she searches for them across a crumbling South Park, Sheila ends up at the Tuckers' house where a distraught Laura Tucker reveals that she has already used Troll Trace to reveal her husband Thomas' Internet history and invites Sheila to do the same. Sheila searches Ike first and discovers that he is innocent, but cannot bring herself to search Gerald. At The Pentagon, the US government realizes that the only way to stop Troll Trace is to overload the Internet with trolling to the point where it shuts down and resets itself. They coordinate with the trolling team in Denmark as well as Kyle and Ike to overload the system, but their effort cannot beat the now- active Troll Trace without a massive source of power: the Mars power source at SpaceX.

The R-3 version had further improvements including a centrifugal clutch to help shifting between forward and reverse even further, but it was never installed in any of the final cars. Because the two torque converters on the Tuckermatic made the engine-transmission unit longer, the fuel tank in the Tucker '48 had to be moved from behind the rear seat to in front of the dashboard for all Tuckers from car #1026 forward, even though only two of them actually had the Tuckermatic installed. This had the added advantage of improving weight distribution in the car. Other drives contemplated for the Tucker 48 A Borg-Warner based, 3-speed automatic was supposedly tested and was installed on car #1048 at some point when the company was in business.

The routes soon cross back into the town of Plattekill, passing multiple residences along an eastward stretch near the Pancake Hollow Brook. At the junction with Jenkins Lane, the routes make a dart to the northeast and east, reaching a junction with CR 15 (Tuckers Corners Road). Crossing past several ponds, CR 15 forks off again at the junction with Pancake Hollow Road before US 44 and NY 55 reach the hamlet of Baileys Gap. Just east of Baileys Gap, US 44 and NY 55 cross into the town of Marlborough, reaching a junction with Baileys Gap Road, where they cross back into the town of Lloyd and gain the name Vineyard Avenue. A short distance later, the routes a small residential area and cross a junction with CR 11, which forks off again a short distance later.

In the mid 1980s, with the price of food going down, some restaurants within Toronto started serving all you can eat buffet- style Brunch. Original restaurants in the south west area of Scarborough within Toronto alone included Town and Country Restaurant, Boy on a Dolphin, and Mother Tuckers, which much later on became a small franchise, and later on with the opening of Hot House Cafe, whose Sunday Buffet branch, became well known . Going out for Brunch became even more popular with the gentrification of the inner areas of Toronto by the mid 2000s, when smaller trendy restaurants started offering Brunch, such as restaurants in the area now known as Leslieville neighbourhood which is sometimes called the brunch capital of Toronto as many renowned establishments serve brunch in that neighbourhood. In Canada, brunch is served in private homes using homemade foods and in restaurants.

The creek rises on the western slope of the long glacial ridge known as Marlboro Mountain, a half-mile east of the small hamlet known as Tuckers Corners in the Ulster County town of Plattekill. From there it flows downward into the valley through a minimally developed series of swamps and ponds, south but trending further to the west. Just south of the hamlet of Plattekill, it reaches the Orange County line, then quickly jogs back due west into Ulster County, crossing under its first major road, NY 32, in the process. Then it resumes a southerly heading, paralleling Old Mill Road, the New York State Thruway and Route 32 back into Orange County. Two miles (3 km) to the south, it opens up into Chadwick Lake, a reservoir built in 1926 as a privately owned recreational lake, and purchased by the town of Newburgh in 1962 to serve as the town's main water supply.
