The system works out which treatments have been effectively used for various symptoms to aid doctors in choosing treatment plans for specific patients. She has developed another algorithm that can be used to predict and treat Septic shock. The algorithm used 16,000 items of patient health records and generates a targeted real-time warning (TREWS) score.

Players on the album include members of The Trews, Plastic Heroes, Rick Andrew (The Shakers), Sonic Blue Sound Review, Mark McCarron, The Maddhatters, Gary Pig Gold and the debut of vocalist Kate MacDonald on "Silver Lines" among many other great musicians. Dave has already toured Europe twice in 2010 with one more European tour to go along with a tour of North America in support of the new record.

Videos and singles followed for Infected and It's Too Late, which received play on MuchMoreMusic. "Infected" became a top 10 modern rock hit in Canada. The band has toured with Theory of a Deadman, Social Code, The Trews and Hedley, Yellowcard among others. A few years before "Into the Existence", Rides Again was known for their hit song "Geeze Louise", a pop rock song popular among young teens.

In late 2003, JF went to Los Angeles to record his first album, Extended Play, with producer Mike Krompass. The album was a small collection of songs, and was released under JF Coley. A band was put together to tour the album, composed of Jocelyn Blanchette on drums and Sebastien Simard on bass. The band performed around the Eastern Townships and Ontario with such bands as April Wine and the Trews.

Den of Thieves is the second full-length album by Canadian rock band The Trews. It was released in 2005 on Epic Records, and peaked at number 6 on the Canadian Albums Chart. The first single from this album was "So She's Leaving", and it was followed by "Yearning", "Poor Ol' Broken Hearted Me" and "I Can't Say". The album was certified Gold (50,000 copies) by the CRIA in January 2006.

Lucknow hosts an annual Strawberry Summerfest on the fourth weekend of June. The event includes a youth soccer tournament, male and female Slow-Pitch tournament, beer tent, vendors market, street entertainment on Saturday and two dances. Past performers at the dances have included: The Trews, Trooper, Thornley and Kim Mitchell. Music In The Fields is an annual three-day country music festival hosted by the Lucknow Kinsmen and local volunteers.

The band announced that they would be supporting the album with tours in the states in the fall of 2018 and Canada in early 2019. 'Civilianaires' was nominated Rock Album of the Year at the 2019 Juno awards. This was the band's sixth Juno nomination to date. In September 2019, with no announcements or fanfare, the Trews released “Touch”, a song they had recorded earlier that spring with 'Civilianaires' producer Derek Hoffman.

In early 2008, Heisholt joined the touring line-up of Canadian rock band The Trews and has been a part of their live and studio configuration since then. In 2012, Jeff joined Toronto trio Little Foot Long Foot, writing and producing their 2013 single "Bridge Concerns". In 2013, Jeff also joined the touring lineup of Canadian roots-rock veterans, Skydiggers. Jeff played keys and recorded with Hamilton's Terra Lightfoot from 2015 to 2017.

FKB is a Canadian rock band consisting of Drew Shalka, Derek Chalut, Travis Topylki, and Alex Fedorouk. They have released five musical works, 123 FKB (2014), "Bright Lights," "My Bedroom," "Casual Love," and "Backseat Daydream." Since they began touring they have performed hundreds of shows across Canada and the United States supporting acts including The Trews, Mother Mother, Bif Naked, Pop Evil, Dear Rouge, Dan Davidson, The Road Hammers, and Scott Helman.

Following the release they were voted into the top 100 campus bands on CBC Music by fans. 123 FKB also achieved chart success on campus radio reaching No. 19 on CJSR-FM in Edmonton, Alberta and No. 23 on CFBX-FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. FKB performed at Extreme Mudfest in Bonnyville in 2015 where they opened for Canadian rock band The Trews. The festival also featured performances by The Road Hammers and Aaron Pritchett.

The Belleville Intelligencer estimated attendance of 8,000 people. The second Big Music Fest of 2012 was held June 30 at Kelso Beach, Owen Sound. As in Belleville, the festival was divided into two shows on one day. The afternoon show saw Down With Webster supported by Carly Rae Jepsen and The New Cities, while the evening show, again led by Three Days Grace, featured The Trews, I Mother Earth, Arkells, and Rival Sons.

Under the Argylls On 8 March 1887, sanction was given for the battalion to adopt the scarlet doublet with yellow facings and the glengarry with red-and-white diced border of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, to be worn with Sutherland trews. The belts were changed to white. Officers and staff-serjeants wore blackcocks' tails in the glengarries in review order, and all ranks white spats in review and black leggings in marching order. Sashes were not worn.

Generally, this was in the form of specific regimental badges, or ornamentation for specialised flank companies, but occasionally major differences existed. Highland regiments generally wore kilts and ostrich feather hats, although six of these regiments exchanged the kilt for regulation trousers or tartan trews in 1809. Officers of Highland regiments wore a crimson silk sash worn from the left shoulder to the right hip. Regimental tartans were worn but they were all derived from the Black Watch tartan.

The New Brunswick Scottish were allied to the King's Own Scottish Borderers and were kitted with a blue glengarry c/w diced border, scarlet doublet, white sporran with two black points, scarlet & black hose, blue doublets for pipers and tartan trews for bandsmen, with full dress only for pipers and bandsmen. The regiment perpetuated the 26th, 55th, 115th, 145th and 236th Battalions and 7th M.G. Battalion C.E.F and held its final Order of Precedence as 30.

It was shortlisted for a Grammy that year. He spent 2008 writing, producing and touring the globe. Dave Rave spent 2009 playing over 100 shows, including Grey Cup 2009 and three European tours and he had a chance to work again with the Trews on the song "How’s Everything" on their Top 10 DVD. He also had time to record the album, "Live with What You Know", which was released in June 2010 on the Bongo Beat label.

In November 2009, USS directly supported illScarlett, on the Canadian section of their 1UP! Tour. Shortly after the destruction in Haiti took place, Toronto's alternative performers came together on February 2, 2010, at The Sound Academy, for the 102.1 The Edge sponsored Toronto Plays For Haiti benefit. USS headlined the event, alongside Choclair, The Salads, Die Mannequin, The Trews and Moneen. That evening, on impulse, Human Kebab played DJ to Canadian Hip- hop legend, Maestro Fresh Wes.

Pants Ant is the main hero of the town of Gaberdine in Pantsylvania, where everything revolves around pants and lower body clothing. He was once a normal ant until he decided to dedicate himself to crimefighting. He wears a mechanical exoskeleton which can change shape and extrude weapons, but it is mostly shaped like a pair of usually human-sized pants. He was once part of a crimefighting team with a dog called Trouser Schnauzer and the Trews Shrews.

The uniform of the 7th Admin Bn was similar but with black facings, adopting a black busby with a black plume in 1872. In 1874 the combined unit adopted a uniform of scarlet tunics with blue facings and trousers, with blue Glengarry bonnets, replaced by a helmet in 1878. From 1886 the battalion adopted the full uniform of the HLI with yellow facings and tartan Trews. After 1908 it followed the HLI in changing to buff facings.

Australian news media discussed Brand after the 2014 Sydney hostage crisis, which began on 15 December, due to an episode of The Trews titled, "Don't Let Sydney Siege Claim Your Freedom". Using footage of Australian prime minister Tony Abbott, Brand explained in the 16 December episode: > That is the important thing here. Now, at this time, when we're finding out > that the CIA used unconscionable torture methods to get information to go > into a war that subsequently proved to be illegal and unfounded, gave the > state more power as the result of events that may or may not be > intrinsically linked to political objectives seems like a dangerous thing to > do ... Terrorism is continually used as a tool to control the domestic > population. Yahoo!7 News website described the 212th episode of The Trews as a "crazed siege rant", the online Brisbane Times newspaper published just over two minutes of the episode, and the Nine News website wrote that Brand has "taken aim" at Abbott and targeted Rupert Murdoch.

Tommy and Fiona return with a basket full of heather, and Fiona goes upstairs to help Jean dress for the wedding. Jeff arrives wearing a pair of Highland trews (trousers); apparently his own pants have been damaged on a "thistle". Jeff finds that Tommy is so happy that he can barely contain it ("Almost Like Being In Love"). Tommy notices that all the events listed in the family Bible, including Jean's wedding, are listed as if they had happened 200 years earlier.

In Scotland, trousers are occasionally known as trews, which is the historic root of the word trousers. Trousers are also known as in Scots, a word related to breeches. The item of clothing worn under trousers is underpants. The standard form trousers is also used, but it is sometimes pronounced in a manner approximately represented by , as Scots did not completely undergo the Great Vowel Shift, and thus retains the vowel sound of the Gaelic from which the word originates.

White facings on a red coat were worn until "royal blue" distinctions were adopted in the early 18th century. The Scottish thistle of St Andrew featured on belt-plates and other parts of the uniform. The standard red/scarlet and blue uniform of most line infantry regiments was retained until "Lowland" dress was adopted in 1881. For the RS this included a scarlet doublet, tartan trews and (from 1904) a dark blue Kilmarnock bonnet with diced band, scarlet toorie and black-cock feather.

A lieutenant of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Scottish Highland pattern uniforms differed in the wearing of tartan kilts or trews, rather than trousers or breeches and in alterations in the design of the tunic and jacket to make them resemble the traditional Highland doublet type – notably in cutting away the skirts at the front of the tunic to allow the wearing of a sporran. Most Scottish regiments did not wear the service dress peaked cap but either the Glengarry or Tam O'Shanter.

In 1928 Niven attended the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. He graduated in 1930 with a commission as a second lieutenant in the British Army. He did well at Sandhurst, which gave him the "officer and gentleman" bearing that was his trademark. He requested assignment to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders or the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment), then jokingly wrote on the form, as his third choice, "anything but the Highland Light Infantry" (because that regiment wore tartan trews rather than the kilt).

Reserve units were for the most part distinguished by having silver (rather than gold-coloured) lace, buttons and accoutrements in full dress. From the Crimean War on, a narrow red stripe (piping) down the outside of each trouser leg was common to all red coated infantry units. Cavalry however wore stripes of regimental colour (white, yellow, blue/grey etc.) on their riding breeches. Scottish Highland regiments did not wear trousers, favouring the kilt, and Scottish Lowland regiments adopted tartan trews.

Ultimately, however, the American uniforms did not differ widely from one another. The Canadian troops, however, arrived in all different manners of uniform: some wore kilts, others tartan trousers (trews) and others Bermuda shorts. Headgear differed just as widely, depending on where the soldier was from – wedge caps for some, black berets for troops taken from armoured regiments and large khaki Tam o' Shanters for soldiers from Scottish regiments. Under the Williamson-Wickham agreement, Canadian soldiers were issued and wore American uniforms.

It is said in Scottish traditional folklore that these triubhas were actually the common garment of the 16th to 18th Centuries in the Highlands.James MacDonald Reid, Notes on Scottish Lore, 2009 It is also a fascinating note that when travelling, in order to avoid getting the trews wet when crossing streams, the Highlander would wear shorter hose, ones that would only reach up to the knee, and wrap his "bed-garments" around his waist, a form of the Great Kilt.

Gordie Johnson has earned numerous gold and platinum records with his band Big Sugar and as producer or musician with such acts as Govt Mule, Joel Plaskett, The Trews and Default. Johnsons' Big Sugar has multiple Juno Award nominations including 1995 Breakthrough Artist, 1997 Rock Album of the Year and 1998 Group of the Year. In 1995 Big Sugar won the esteemed European Edison Award one of the oldest music awards in the world. SOCAN #1 Song Awards as songwriter for Big Sugar "The Scene" in 1998.

The festival is held in the centre of the city, along Stephen Street. Noteworthy appearances at past festivals include; Kenny Byrka, Lou Gramm, Prairie Oyster, Colin James, Dr. Hook, Randy Bachman, The Trews, The Morden Times May 25 2016, Chad Brownlee, The Morden Times Aug 31 2016, The Wilkinsons and Dear Screaming. Rick Mercer made a festival appearance for the 50th anniversary in 2016. The video was aired on CBC Television and published online, Rick at the Corn and Apple Festival Youtube Video on Nov 2, 2016.

Comanche- Cheyenne wearing leggings, Ledger drawing Leggings in various forms and under various names have been worn for warmth and protection by both men and women throughout the centuries. The separate hose worn by men in Europe from the 13th to 16th centuries (the Renaissance period) were a form of leggings, as are the trews of the Scottish Highlands. Separate leggings of buckskin leather were worn by some Native Americans. These were adopted by some Long Hunters, French fur trappers, and later by mountain men.

Although never officially announced as a replacement for Pattison, Chuck Coles of Punk band Cauterize is currently replacing Pattison as the second guitarist for the band, although Pattison is still listed as a part of the band in the "Band members" page in Brown Brigade's official website.Brown Brigade: Into The Mouth Of Badd(d)ness Pattinson has worked as a guitar tech for such acts as Finger Eleven, Bryan Adams, Sum 41, Keith Scott, Jann Arden, Nelly Furtado, Three Days Grace and The Trews.

The personnel were distinctive because they continued to wear their kilts in contrast to the rest of the HLI, who wore trews. The 5th Battalion, always wore the Government (Black Watch) tartan and their own cap badge, and never wore the Mackenzie tartan as the rest of the HLI. The Stanhope Memorandum of December 1888 introduced a Mobilisation Scheme for Volunteer units, which would assemble in their own brigades at key points in case of war. In peacetime these brigades provided a structure for collective training.

King Edward VII in a tweed Argyll jacket, kilt and Glengarry (1904) Highland dress is the traditional, regional dress of the Highlands and Isles of Scotland. It is often characterised by tartan (plaid in North America). Specific designs of shirt, jacket, bodice and headwear may also be worn along with clan badges and other devices indicating family and heritage. Men's highland dress typically includes a kilt or trews of his clan tartan, along with either a tartan full plaid, fly plaid, or short belted plaid.

In 1902, because of increased numbers (226 students), infants, were moved to the old girls school. Paul Hasluck attended the school in 1910–1911. The school experienced problems with fencing, with cows and fowls entering to eat trees and gardens, and children escaping to raid the Catholic presbytery garden next door. In 1952, the school became a junior high school and in 1959, the senior section moved to new school premises on Trews Road, and in October 1988, the junior high school also moved there and the Howick St school was closed.

Winning the contest would prove to be their big break as they soon landed a recording contract with Bumstead Productions. Trews bassist Jack Syperek with guitarist John-Angus MacDonald, 2005 The release of their first full-length CD House of Ill Fame followed in 2003. Produced by Big Sugar's Gordie Johnson, the album contained the singles "Every Inambition", "Not Ready to Go", "Tired of Waiting", "Fleeting Trust" and "Confessions". "Not Ready to Go" hit number one on Canadian rock radio and was the most played song of 2004 in that format.

Hiatus (2009-2017) Although never officially announced, the band decided to go on hiatus in early 2010. They recorded demos for a new album, but never entered the studio to record them. The group ended with numerous songs in the vault from a never released record titled “Destroy The Earth While There’s Still Time”. The Marble Index shared the stage with many big acts including - The Pixies, Hot Hot Heat, Billy Talent, Three Days Grace, Pilate, Hanoi Rocks, Powderfinger, 54-40, Massive Attack, Thornley, Bedouin Soundclash, The Trews, and Mother Mother.

While the 4 SCOTS now wear the Government 1A pattern tartan, prior to amalgamation in 2006 the regiment wore the Gordon tartan when in kilts and the Seaforth Mackenzie when in trews. The pipers and drummers continue to wear the regimental cap badge and kilts in the Cameron of Erracht tartan. The battalion primarily recruits from the Hebrides, the Northern Isles, the mainland counties of Inverness-shire, Ross and Cromarty, Sutherland, Caithness, Moray and Nairnshire, and from the traditional Gordon heartlands in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. The Battalion Headquarters is located at Cameron Barracks in Inverness.

Following the release of Den of Thieves, the members of the band started work on No Time for Later and brought in two new producers: Gus Van Go and Werner F. The group rehearsed for several months and narrowed a group of over 30 songs to the thirteen that made the final album. A song called "Long Way from Freedom" was also recorded for the album, but was not included. It was later added to The Trews' website as a free download. The album was recorded in mid-2007 in Toronto and Brooklyn.

The uniform of the original 3rd Edinburgh RVC was scarlet tunics with blue facings, blue trousers with a broad scarlet stripe, and blue shakoes with a red-and-white ball tuft, later replaced by a scarlet upright horsehair plume. The British League Cadet Corps wore red Garibaldi shirts, blue forage caps and knickerbockers, and brown canvas leggings. In 1882 the renumbered 2nd Edinburgh RVC adopted blue helmets in place of shakoes. After it became the 4th VB Royal Scots, the unit adopted the uniform of that regiment, wearing tartan trews in place of trousers.

Both The Trews and guitarist Rob Baker of The Tragically Hip made unexpected guest appearances to perform for the College. Kingston photographer Chris Miner held the position throughout the 2014–15 academic year, culminating in a gallery exhibition of his work along with winning photographs by students, staff, and faculty submitted as part of the Photo Op 2015 photography contest. In the winter term of the 2015–2016 academic year, Canadian novelist and poet Helen Humphreys was the Artist-in-Residence, and held weekly workshops on novel writing and poetry.

In January 2014, Brand was invited by the Cambridge Union Society to participate in an interview, held in the Union's debating chamber with Leo Kirby, the Union's 2014 Speakers' Officer. The interview ran for more than an hour and was published on the Union's YouTube channel. Brand launched his YouTube series The Trews: True News with Russell Brand on 27 February 2014, in which he "analyses the news, truthfully, spontaneously and with great risk to his personal freedom." In addition to news analysis, he regularly has guests on the show, including economists, journalists and activists.

The EP's first single "The Power of Positive Drinking" received extensive airplay across Canada reaching number 1 on the CBC rock chart the week of December 7, 2012. In April 2014 the band released its 5th full-length studio album eponymously titled The Trews. It was the band's highest charting debut to date reaching #1 on the Rock, Alternative and Independent Album Charts and #3 on the overall chart in Canada. The album's first single "What's Fair is Fair" reached #2 on the Canadian Active Rock radio chart and its video received heavy play on MUCH, MUCHMORE and MUCH LOUD.

Boatclub made a five-part documentary series called Blindboy Undestroys the World for BBC Three which explored contemporary issues in the UK. The 2018 pilot episode, which covered the housing system in the UK, was long-listed for a BAFTA award. This was followed by a four-part series in 2019 which looked at precarious employment, anxiety, the internet, and modern slavery. Boatclub has also appeared on several Irish programmes, including The Late Late Show and The Tommy Tiernan Show. He has also appeared on Russell Brand's Under the Skin with Russell Brand and The Trews web series.

Shalka's career in music began with FKB when he met Derek Chalut at school. The band attracted local notoriety and caught the attention of singer-songwriter Clayton Bellamy of the Canadian country band The Road Hammers at a car show in late 2012. Bellamy became interested in their music and co-wrote and produced their first EP 123 FKB. Following the release in 2014, the band would go on to perform hundreds of shows across Canada and the United States supporting acts including The Trews, Bif Naked, Mother Mother, Dear Rouge, The Road Hammers, Dan Davidson, Pop Evil, and Scott Helman.

For Lowland regiments in trews, spats were visible only over the brogue shoes. As part of their parade uniforms, most regiments of the modern Indian and Pakistani armies wear long white spats into which soldiers tuck the bottoms of their trousers. Other full-dress uniforms that still include spats are those of the Finnish Army, Swedish Army, Portuguese Republican National Guard, the Carabiniers of Monaco, the Egyptian Military Police, and the Italian Military Academy of Modena. In the Finnish Navy, spats are part of the winter uniform; and the United States Navy Honor Guard and Rifle Guard wear them while performing ceremonies.

On November 5 Red Wanting Blue performed live on the NPR radio program Mountain Stage alongside Dr. Dog and The Mountain Goats at the Keith Albee Theater in West Virginia. In early 2013, RWB headlined a tour of the west coast and continued to sell out shows throughout the Midwest and east coast. They also toured eastern Canada with The Trews and hit a major milestone by selling out The Bowery Ballroom in New York City. At The Bowery Ballroom on March 9, Red Wanting Blue announced that they would be heading back into the studio with producer/friend Jamie Candiloro throughout March and April 2013 to record their 10th album.

A second documentary in 2009, Rwanda: Rises Up!, focused on the resilience of the Rwandan nation and the progress made since the genocide in 1994. The accompanying full length album (released by Sony Music) featured Canadian artists including Sarah Slean, Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat), Damhnait Doyle and Tim Edwards (Crash Parallel) who participated in the film, as well as Ian D'Sa (Billy Talent), Cone McCaslin (Sum 41/Operation MD), Classified, and The Trews. Darcy Ataman has continued to travel to Rwanda and more recently to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in order to develop partnerships for the Song for Africa Music Enrichment Program.

"This lieutenant was clad in coat and trews, as the Irishes were clad; ilk ane had in his cap or bonnet a rip of oats, whilk was his sign, our town's people began to wear the like in their bonnets, and to knit them to the knocks of our yetts, but it was little safeguard to us, albeit we used the same for a protection." Marquess of Montrose, alongside whom Mac Colla fought in 1644-5 against the forces of the Parliament of Scotland. Mac Colla's force landed in the Ardnamurchan peninsula in July 1644,Lenihan, Conquest and Resistance: War in Seventeenth-Century Ireland, 2000, p.

The regiment was not fundamentally affected by the Cardwell Reforms of the 1870s, which gave it a depot at Churchill Barracks in Ayr from 1873, or by the Childers Reforms of 1881 – as it already possessed two battalions, there was no need for it to amalgamate with another regiment. The depot was the 61st Brigade Depot from 1873 to 1881, and the 21st Regimental District depot thereafter Under the reforms the regiment became The Royal Scots Fusiliers on 1 July 1881. It became the County Regiment of Ayrshire, Dumfriesshire, Kirkcudbrightshire, Roxburghshire, Selkirkshire and Wigtownshire in South-West Scotland. This made them a Lowland Regiment and forced them to adopt trews.

Greg Gutfeld referred to Brand as a "scruff bucket" and a racist, while Brand laughed off the insults and referred to the Fox News presenters as "aliens." Gutfeld also called him a "left-wing commie scum" and said "radical Islam is spewing from his homeland, but he's too much of a coward to actually focus on that." In October 2014, Brand said he had been scheduled to appear as a guest on Hannity's show, but producers canceled his appearance. He attempted to film an episode of The Trews outside of Fox News headquarters in New York City, but a security guard threatened to arrest him for trespassing.

In the form adopted after World War II, most regiments were distinguished only by coloured piping on the shoulder straps, coloured hat bands, buttons and badges. However Scottish regiments retained their kilts or trews as well as the distinctive doublets (in "piper green" or dark blue) of the former scarlet uniform. Rifles regiments had dark green uniforms and cavalry retained a number of special features such as the crimson trousers of the 11th Hussars or the quartered caps of lancer regiments. A white, lightweight tunic (No 3 Dress) was also authorised for use in the tropics, or during the summer months in warmer temperate climates (such as Bermuda).

They did not however differ significantly in appearance or public perception from the bulk of the line infantry of the British Army. In 1881 the introduction of the Cardwell system of reforms provided the opportunity to adopt a modified form of Scottish dress for the Lowland regiments. Comprising doublets and tartan trews this gave the Lowlanders a distinctive identity, separate from their English, Welsh, Irish and Highland counterparts.W.Y.Carman, pages 146 & 152, "British Military Uniforms From Contemporary Pictures" At the same time, the absence of kilts (except for pipers) and the substitution of Kilmarnock bonnets for feather bonnets prevented confusion between Lowlanders and their Highland counterparts.

Soon after Sir Thomas saw the book, he wrote of it to Sir Walter Scott, in a letter dated 1 June 1829. In this letter, Lauder highly commended the book, stating that several clan chiefs, such as Cluny MacPherson and McLeod, had derived their "true and authentic" tartans therefrom. Lauder described the manuscript in detail, stating that he had obtained drawings, in colour, of all of the tartans contained therein (about 66 in number) and sent some of these to Sir Walter Scott himself. In addition to material on tartans, the book also contained appendices on women's plaids (arisaids) and on hose and trews.

Over the years, Hoge has toured with many artists, including Midnight Oil, Shinedown, Needtobreathe, Marc Broussard, ZZ Top, The Cat Empire, Squeeze, Jason Isbell, Lisa Loeb and Edwin McCain. Bands that have opened for him include Steel Train, The Trews, The Elms, Rose Hill Drive, Needtobreathe, Moses Mayfield, The Alternate Routes, Aslyn, Katie Herzig, Missy Higgins, and The Civil Wars. Hoge recorded the opening theme song, "You Make Me Happy," for the CBS sitcom Still Standing. On February 20, 2007, he released a live album, Again Somewhere Tomorrow, from recordings made during the band's two-night stint at the Exit/In in Nashville, in September 2006.

The album produced the subsequent singles "Lightning" and "The Contender" which reached #2 and #1 respectively on the Canadian rock radio charts. To support the release of The Union, the group toured Canada supporting Airbourne and The Trews. They also toured the United States with 10 Years and performed at festivals such as Rock on the Range, Rocklahoma, Northern Invasion, Carolina Rebellion and more in 2016. The Union was nominated for a Juno Award for Best Rock Album, and The Glorious Sons were nominated and won "Group of the Year" and "Rock Group of the Year" at the SiriusXM Indie Awards at Canadian Music Week in 2015.

They are each decorated with hundred of thousands of LED Christmas lights. In 2013 to celebrate the program's 15th year, three signature events were held in Hamilton, Ontario, Calgary, Alberta, and Cottage Grove, Minnesota, to further raise awareness for hunger issues. A crowd watches entertainers perform out of the CP Holiday Train The trains feature different entertainers each year; in 2016, one train featured Dallas Smith and the Odds, while the other featured Colin James and Kelly Prescott. After its 20th anniversary tour in 2018, which hosted Terri Clark, Sam Roberts Band, The Trews and Willy Porter, the tour reported to have raised more than and collected more than of food since 1999.

The regiment's uniform included the blue Glengarry cap with red 'tourie', red, white and green dicing, black silk cockade and 'Flaming Grenade' cap badge, Mackenzie tartan trews and black highland brogue shoes worn with white spats. In the field in combat dress, the Glengarry was replaced, when a helmet is not worn, by a khaki 'tam o'shanter' bonnet with Mackenzie tartan patch and with a white hackle from the Royal Scots Fusiliers when appropriate. The Regimental capbadge was the 'grenade in flames' taken from the Royal Scots Fusiliers cap badge, on which is mounted the crowned HLI monogram from the Highland Light Infantry. The tartan is 'Mackenzie', the blue and green 'government' tartan with added white and red lines.

The name Trowse derives from the old English/Scottish word trouse, for a grating of wood or iron which could be raised or lowered (like a gate) to allow water out of a dam into a mill race (the original village grew up round the local water mill – now Trowse Millgate). Trouse (or Trews north of the border) was also the slang name for the leggings worn by Scots (since they too went up and down like a gate to allow water out) – and hence the word Trouser.

The record was broken at below sea level at 3400 level of CVRD Inco's Copper Cliff North Mine, Copper Cliff, Ontario. In 2008, Evolutionary was recognized as Junior Citizens of the Year at the Community Builders Awards of Excellence for the City of Greater Sudbury. Evolutionary has been visited by such artists as The Tragically Hip, Hedley, Keisha Chante, Sloan, Suzie McNeil, The Trews, Three Days Grace, Finger Eleven, music publishing executives Mike McCarty, and Deane Cameron and record producer Bob Ezrin. Despite the fact that most of the bands' activities take place outside regular school hours, the students involved in the Evolutionary band receive a full credit towards high school graduation.

In 2014 Mandroid Echostar began writing their debut full length record and first release with Distort Entertainment. The album, Coral Throne, was recorded in December 2014 and January 2015 at Vespa Studios in Toronto, with Juno award winning producers, Eric Ratz and Harry Hess. Coral Throne was written as a concept album inspired by the histories of colonialism, cultural genocide, and the clash of organized religion and traditional spirituality. Throughout the writing process, the band made many notable appearances such as performing in direct support of Megadeth, playing the main stage at Koifest (Kitchener) alongside Every Time I Die and Foxy Shazam, as well as the main stage at Lachie Music Festival (Cayuga Speedway - Hagersville, Ontario) with July Talk and The Trews.

In December 2011, Salmond spent £260 on a pair of trews that he wore to a ball in China. He refunded the taxpayer more than a year later, after a newspaper had submitted a freedom of information request. The sequence in which these events occurred was acknowledged by the Scottish Government after 7 months, during which they initially maintained that they had no record of when Salmond had repaid the money. In September 2012 he stayed with his wife at a hotel in Chicago while attending a golf tournament; the £3,000 for four nights was paid for by the taxpayer and supported a VisitScotland delegationJohnson, Simon; Riley-Smith, Ben (10 April 2014) "Revealed: The Five-Star Suite Alex Salmond Enjoyed at the Taxpayers' Expense" .

In the modern era, Scottish highland dress can be worn casually, or worn as formal wear to white tie and black tie occasions, especially at ceilidhs. Just as the black tie dress code has increased in use in England for formal events which historically may have called for white tie, so too is the black tie version of highland dress increasingly common. The basis of all modern men's and women's highland dress starts with the tartan, either as a kilt, trews, earasaid, sash or tonnag. Tartans in Scotland are registered at the Scottish Register of Tartans in Edinburgh, a non-ministerial department and are usually aligned to a clan or branch of a clan, however tartans can also be registered exclusively for an individual or institution.

Knickerbockers have been popular in other sporting endeavors, particularly golf, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, fencing and bicycling. Indeed, in cycling they were standard attire for nearly a hundred years, with the majority of archival photos of cyclists in the era before World War I showing men wearing knickerbockers tucked into long socks. They remained fairly popular in Britain (where they were called "breeks" or "trews") in the years between World War I and World War II, but eventually were eclipsed in popularity by racing tights, even among the vast majority of cyclists who never raced. Invariably referred to as "knickers" in the US, they lived on as a just-past-the-knee variant of racing tights reserved for colder-weather riding.

In her Memoirs of a Highland Lady, Elizabeth Grant recounted that in 1805 she 'danced my Shean Trews...in a new pair of yellow (!) slippers bought at Perth'. In the late 18th century, the dance was performed to a fiddle tune called 'Seann Triubhas Uilleachan' (Gaelic for 'Willie's old trousers'), previously and more scurrilously called 'The De'il Stick the Minister'. When the dance began to be incorporated into Highland Dance competitions, which were usually played for by pipers, the tune was changed to 'Whistle O'er the Lave o't', which could be played on the bagpipe and is the tune commonly used for the dance today. In contemporary competitive Highland Dance, after dancing three to four steps, the dancer will clap, which signals the piper to speed up the music.

The third installment of the Soulsville Trilogy was dedicated to the memory of long-time friend, and producer/artist on Soulsville "Souled Out n' Sanctified" and Soulsville "Rock This House" Richard Bell. Recently Brooks was included in a project by Garth Hudson (The Band) entitled "Canadian Celebration of The Band" which was released November 2010, distributed in Canada by Sony. Along with Garth Hudson, the CD included Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, The Sadies, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Peter Katz and the Curious, Suzie McNeil, Cowboy Junkies, Kevin Hearn and Thin Buckle, Blue Rodeo, The Road Hammers, Raine Maida, Chantal Kreviazuk, Hawksley Workman, Great Big Sea, The Trews, Ian Thornley and Danny Brooks and The Rockin' Revelators. October 2012 saw the release of Brooks first effort since moving south to Llano, Texas.

The earliest forms of the kilt, called a plaid or "great kilt", were worn over the existing garments of the time, such as trews or breeches with hose or leg wraps. From the late 1600s onward, historical paintings start to show some kilts worn with high socks, with no covering on the visible part of the upper legs. It is unknown exactly why the practice of wearing no undergarments under the kilt began, but many sources indicate it originated with the Scottish military uniform in the 18th century, leading to the invention of such expressions as "go regimental" or "military practice" for wearing no underwear. The earliest known reference to the practice is a series of satirical French illustrations in 1815 when Paris was occupied after the Battle of Waterloo.

This was followed by the Halifax music explosion of the 1990s, which saw bands such as Sloan, Eric's Trip, Jale, Thrush Hermit and Newfoundland émigrés The Hardship Post obtain international recognition and recording deals with labels such as DGC and Sub Pop. It was during this time that the internationally known Halifax Pop Explosion music festival was founded (in 1993). Though the initial excitement generated during this time has abated, Nova Scotia remains at the forefront of the internationally successful Canadian music wave, with artists who came out of that era, such as Joel Plaskett, and hip hop hero Buck 65 continuing to gain worldwide respect and attention. Other acts such as The Trews, The Stanfields, Matt Mays, and Jimmy Swift Band have all experienced considerable success nationally.

Nichola Goddard, the first Canadian female soldier killed in Afghanistan and a schoolmate of members of the Trews. It refers to the stretch of Highway 401 in Ontario, between CFB Trenton and downtown Toronto, where hundreds gather on bridges and overpasses to mourn soldiers killed in Afghanistan while the bodies of the fallen soldiers are transported from Trenton to the coroner's office in downtown Toronto. The song was made available on iTunes in Canada only, with all proceeds from the sales of the song going to the Canadian Hero Fund, a charity that provides academic scholarships to the spouses and children of soldiers killed in combat. In October 2014 "Highway of Heroes" was certified Gold in Canada for sales of over 40,000 digital downloads. In November 2010, the band performed the Canadian National anthem at the 98th Grey Cup in Edmonton.

The album's second and third singles "Rise in the Wake" & "New King" also reached the top ten at Canadian Rock Radio bringing the total to 16 top ten Active Rock hits. In the August 2014 edition of the UK's Classic Rock Magazine 90,000 copies of The Trews was distributed free with the magazine, the issue featured Slash on its cover. In September 2014 the band took part in the first ever CapeFest in Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia along with Slash and Aerosmith. In September 2016 the band released "Time Capsule", a 20-song album that included 16 of their greatest hits as well as 4 brand new recordings. The album's first single "Beautiful & Tragic" peaked in the top 5 on Canadian Rock Radio and became the band's 17th top ten rock radio single of their career.

In 2013, he released the successful stand-up special Messiah Complex. Since guest editing an edition of British political weekly New Statesman in 2013, Brand has become known as a public activist and campaigner, and has spoken on a wide range of political and cultural issues, including wealth inequality, addiction, corporate capitalism, climate change, and media bias. In 2014, Brand launched his political-comedy web series The Trews, released a book entitled Revolution, and began work on a documentary about financial inequality with Michael Winterbottom. Over the course of his career, Brand has been the subject of frequent media coverage and controversy for issues such as his promiscuity and drug use, his outrageous behaviour at various award ceremonies, his dismissal from MTV and resignation from the BBC, and his two- year marriage with singer Katy Perry.

Miliband claimed that he took part to win over people like Brand who do not vote, although his opponent David Cameron deemed the entire interview a "joke". The following day Brand released an interview with Green Party leader Natalie Bennett and Green MP Caroline Lucas, giving his support to Lucas in Brighton advising people there to vote Green, adding that "In most cases it don’t matter if you don’t vote Green". He also criticised an election "set up not to represent people's wishes". Following these interviews, three days before the election, Brand released the final episode of The Trews Politics Week entitled "Emergency: VOTE To Start Revolution" releasing additional material from his discussion with Ed Miliband and stating "I think we've got no choice but to take decisive action to end the danger of the Conservative party".

Bullmoose's independently released 2004 album Lessons Learned was recorded at Studios Piccolo in Montreal, engineered and co-produced by Bullmoose and Ryan Patterson (The Exchanges/Kill The Lights) with Mathieu Roberge and mastered by Ryan Morey at SNB. The band toured throughout Canada in 2005 for the Night Danger Tour in support of the record. They have attended Canadian music festivals including Canadian Music Week, North By Northeast, Festival of the Islands, Ottawa Bluesfest, Maximum Blues, Trudeau Park, Feb Fest and Indie Week. Since 2004, Bullmoose has shared the stage with Canadian acts such as Wide Mouth Mason, The Trews, The Illuminati, Trooper, Junior Pantherz, Mobile, Rocketface, C'Mon, Whitey Houston, The Swallows, The Jimmy Swift Band, The Royal Mountain Band, The Exchanges, The Golden Dogs, Theory of a Deadman, The Stampeders, Ronnie Hawkins and Jim Cuddy playing such venues as the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto, Club Soda in Montreal and The Brickyard in Vancouver.

To commemorate Wojtek's story, and the links between Poland and Scotland in another form, the Wojtek Memorial Trust have designed an official tartan, with the help of Kinloch Anderson Ltd. The Wojtek Memorial Trust Tartan is based on the Roxburgh sett because Wojtek visited Springwood Park, Kelso owned by the Duke of Roxburgh when he arrived in Scotland. The vibrant red colour of the tartan reflects the Polish flag whilst the red “ribbon-like lines” are a reminder of the red and white ribbons soldiers bought from local women in Persia to sew onto their uniforms to identify themselves as the Polish Army. The colours of the Polish flag and the Scottish flag sit together in the design to represent the special relationship between Poland and Scotland. The two shades of green reflect the countryside of the Scottish Borders and the Leslie tartan trews which were worn by the King’s Own Scottish Borderers Regiment. The single sand over-check is a reminder of the desert lands of the Middle East and of Wojtek’s soft brown fur.

He was promoted Major-General on 25 July 1810 and invalided home. Cameron was noted for his outspoken eccentricity. When asked his opinion on the idea of replacing kilts with ‘trews’ in the Highland regiments he responded famously and at length against it.Osprey Wellington’s Highlanders p.14-15 When the 95th Rifles were added to make up his brigade in late 1808 "On hearing that our four companies were to be put under his command, this gallant but eccentric old chieftain declared, ‘he did not want a parcel of riflemen, as he already had a thousand Highlanders, who would face the devil.’ Had our corps been raised northward of the Tweed, it is more probable that our brigadier would have set a higher value on us; but we were moved to another brigade before he had an opportunity of judging of the merits or demerits of the Southerners in the field"Leach Rough Sketches of the Life of an Old Soldier p.57-58 - note he is not mentioned by name, but it seems most likely it was Cameron.
