Lares trek The Lares trek is a two- or three-day high-altitude hike in Cusco, Peru, starting near the village Lares, approximately north of Cusco and east of Machu Picchu. The Lares Valley lies in the east of the Urubamba mountain range, traversing part of the Sacred Valley. Reaching the start of the trek requires a bus or van trip of approximately five hours from the village of Lares. The trek route transverses typical Peruvian Andean mountain areas.

The 79th Street transverse—which passed under Vista Rock, Central Park's second-highest point—was completed by a railroad contractor because of their experience in drilling through hard rock; it opened in December 1860. The 86th and 97th Street transverses opened in late 1862. Valle Soprana lies about six miles from Teramo, near the edge of the Gran Sasso National Park. Leading up to the ridge of f the Asino Hills, the countryside surrounding Valle Soprana is characterized by a series of trails (tratturi) that in the past were used by shepherds in their yearly migration of sheep (transhumance) from the Abruzzo to the Apulia and Lazio regions of Italy. Valle Soprana sits on the banks of a stream called the Fiumiciello, a small tributary of the Tordino river. The provincial road SP47, which runs from Frondarola to Pagliaroli, transverses the town.

Inwood Road is flanked by a row of pine trees at the point where it transverses the magazine complex. A series of concrete stormwater drains is networked across the area. There is also some landscape evidence of a trolley system running between magazine buildings and the laboratory, from the earlier periods of the site. Himsagar Express is a weekly express train of the Indian Railways running between Kanyakumari in India's southernmost state of Tamil Nadu to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in Jammu and Kashmir- the northernmost state of India. Wards Pass, above sea level, is an alpine pass in the Rachel Range of the Inland Kaikoura Ranges of New Zealand's northern South Island. It lies between the valleys of the upper Acheron and Awatere rivers and was discovered by the surveyor Joseph Ward and his brother-in-law, Cyrus Goulter, in March 1847. The pass is on the Molesworth-Hanmer Road within Molesworth Station, southwest of the station headquarters. The HVDC Inter-Island line transverses the pass on its route between Benmore Dam and the Cook Strait cable terminal at Fighting Bay in the Marlborough Sounds.

Some legends of the Kami and Cahuilla tribes probably refer to Lake Cahuilla. They state that the lake bed tended to be dry but also occasionally flooded; during which times the tribes would have to relocate to the mountains. Evidence for the lake's existence in the historical record, however, is unclear, although it probably still existed at the time where the Spaniards reached the overall region. The race is held in January each year, making it one of the first races on the UCI Calendar, and a key chance for teams and riders to gain early UCI points. Near Sweetwater, I-20 begins to head east as it heads towards the city of Abilene. In Abilene, I-20 curves towards the north and transverses the northern part of the city while also forming the northern arc of the loop around the city. I-20 continues heading east from Abilene until the town of Eastland when I-20 takes a more northeasterly route towards Weatherford while transitioning from the West Texas prairie to the central plains of North Texas as the terrain grows hilly. The drive passes by the Central Park Zoo around 63rd Street and the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 80th to 84th Streets. Unlike the rest of the drive system, which is generally serpentine, East Drive is straight between the 86th and 96th Street transverses, because it is between Fifth Avenue and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir. East Drive is known as the "Elite Carriage Parade", because it was where the carriage procession occurred at the time of the park's opening, and because only five percent of the city was able to afford the carriage. The segment of the expressway from Magallanes Interchange to Calamba Exit is part of Asian Highway 26 (AH26) of the Asian highway network. In 2006, the South Luzon Tollway segment underwent rehabilitation through the SLEx Upgrading and Rehabilitation Project, which rehabilitates and expands the Alabang Viaduct as well as the road from Alabang to Calamba, and eventually connect the expressway to the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road in Santo Tomas, Batangas.

The Ramey Mound, designated 15BH1, is an archaeological site in Bath County in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Kentucky. Built by people of the prehistoric Adena culture, the site has been known for more than two centuries; it was recorded in 1807 as consisting of an enclosure at least high. In 1871, another survey observed four mounds in association with the main earthwork: one was located just east of the enclosure, another directly to the west, a larger one to the southeast, and a small one to the southwest. The source of a nearby brook lies within the site and transverses the enclosure; the 1871 survey supposed that it had been dug to provide earth for the enclosure.

Buena Suerte, one of the four Población barangays, sits on the western section of the town proper, occupying the areas from the famous limestone and marble cliffs called taraw that act as a backdrop and run from the southern to its westernmost sections, the Lapus- Lapus Trail that leads to the beaches of Ipil Point and Siete Commando opposite the surrounding mountain walls, and to the St. Francis of Assissi Parish Church that serves as the main office of the Parish of El Nido. It is bordered by Masagana on the east and Maligaya on the southeast. A creek, draining from Maligaya, transverses in the south and to the sea in the northwest.

It intersects at Mount Victoria with the Darling Causeway which heads north to connect with the Bells Line of Road. From Mount Victoria, the highway descends via Victoria Pass into the Hartley Valley and then passes through the western suburbs of Lithgow where it is joined by the Chifley Road, which links eastward back to the Bells Line of Road. The highway continues generally west, intersecting with the Castlereagh Highway west of Marrangaroo, and crosses Coxs River to ascend the Great Dividing Range and over the western ridge of the Sydney basin before dropping into the Macquarie Valley to reach its western terminus at Bathurst, at the junction of the Mitchell Highway and the Mid-Western Highway. At numerous points along its journey, the highway transverses or is transversed by the Main Western railway line.

The expressway is a network of two expressways that connects Metro Manila to the provinces of the Region IV-A in the southern part of Luzon. It starts at the Paco District of Manila then passes through Manila, Makati, Pasay, Paranaque, Taguig and Muntinlupa in Metro Manila; San Pedro, Biñan in Laguna; Carmona in Cavite, then transverses again to Biñan, Santa Rosa, Cabuyao and Calamba in the province of Laguna and ends in Santo Tomas, Batangas. The Subic-Clark- Tarlac Expressway is another expressway that serves the region of Central Luzon, the expressway is linked to the North Luzon Expressway through the Mabalacat Interchange. Its southern terminus is at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone in Zambales, it passes through the Clark Freeport Zone and its northern terminus is at Brgy.

Julia Tuttle Causeway connects Miami and Miami Beach The Miami metropolitan area is served by five interstate highways operated by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in conjunction with local agencies. Interstate 95 (I-95) runs north to south along the coast, ending just south of Downtown Miami at South Dixie Highway (US 1). I-75 runs east to west, turning south in western Broward County and connecting suburban north Miami-Dade to Naples on the Southwest Coast via Alligator Alley, which transverses the Florida Everglades before turning north. I-595 connects the Broward coast and downtown Fort Lauderdale to I-75 and Alligator Alley. In Miami, I-195 and I-395 relay the main I-95 route east to Biscayne Boulevard (US 1) and Miami Beach across Biscayne Bay via the Julia Tuttle and MacArthur causeways.

He also recollected his first and only meeting with René Thom, at which Thom purportedly told Dalí that he was studying tectonic plates; this provoked Dalí to question Thom about the railway station at Perpignan, France (near the Spanish border), which the artist had declared in the 1960s to be the center of the universe. Thom reportedly replied, "I can assure you that Spain pivoted precisely — not in the area of — but exactly there where the Railway Station in Perpignan stands today". Dalí was immediately enraptured by Thom's statement, influencing his painting Topological Abduction of Europe — Homage to René Thom, the lower left corner of which features an equation closely linked to the "swallow's tail": V = x^5 + ax^3 + bx^2 + cx, an illustration of the graph, and the term queue d'aronde. The seismic fracture that transverses Topological Abduction of Europe reappears in The Swallow's Tail at the precise point where the y-axis of the swallow's tail graph intersects with the S-curve of the cusp.
