Riding the Reunion and others organised the first Ace Cafe Reunion to mark the 25th anniversary of the closure of the famous transport cafe before going on to re-opening and established a series of events.

It is historically a notable venue in motorcycle culture which originally operated from 1938 until 1969 when it closed. The sweat room scenes were filmed in the School Room in School House at Aldenham School (though they were redesigned for the film). The dormitory scenes were also at Aldenham—specifically The Long Room for the junior boys, and the room with the wooden partitions called Lower Cubs (short for cubicles). The shower scene and toilets were in School House changing rooms. The transport cafe was the (now demolished) Packhorse Cafe on the A5/Watling Street in Kensworth, Dunstable, Bedfordshire, close to the Packhorse Pub.

The Real Food Cafe, just off the A82 in Tyndrum The A82 and A85 share the same route for between Crianlarich and Tyndrum. Although Crianlarich has a larger community, Tyndrum is equally well catered for motorists, particularly HGV drivers, and contains the Real Food Cafe, a transport cafe that stays open until 10 p.m. The cafe caters not only to motorists but also to walkers along the West Highland Way. The A82 passing through Glen Coe The A82 enters bleak moorland at the western fringes of Rannoch Moor, to the north of Tyndrum.

Airedale General Hospital The village has a major hospital, (Airedale General Hospital), a Pie Shop, a news agency, three hair dressing saloons, a fruit shop, a Chinese takeaway, a transport cafe, two parks, three public houses, a bowling green, a war memorial, two village greens, a football pitch, a cricket pitch, a graveyard, a primary school, an hotel, a Church of England church and a Methodist church. A Morrisons local store was also opened in the village in May 2014, but this became a My Local store when Morrisons withdrew from the village. Since then the site of the old Morrisons has become a Co-op Food store.

Chris pulls over for a female hitchhiker whom they see on the roadside, but instead an elderly man (Joss Ackland) gets in after a scream and banging is heard. The passenger, who fits the description of the killer from the radio, offers strange and witty anecdotes to questions asked before turning on the radio, which plays "Always on My Mind". During the song, the passenger, with a mad look in his eyes, unpacks several knives from his bag then suddenly asks to be let out and the Pet Shop Boys continue unharmed. They arrive at a transport cafe where they're sat next to a traveller (Gareth Hunt).

In June 1996 Green Environmental Industries Ltd and Mr John Moynihan were charged with offences under section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.See the case report in [2000] 2 AC 412 In November 1995 a 100 tonnes of clinical waste (including placenta, needles and glass) was found in trailers and at a warehouse near in the Rookery Transport Cafe near Hatfield, and in the centre of Hertford, on Ware Road at the Addis factory site. The property was leased or licensed to GEI Ltd, which did not have a licence for its storage. Moynihan as director and sole shareholder was asked by the council on 23 November 1995 to remove the waste or the council would under EPA 1990 ss 33 and 59 do it at Moynihan’s expense.
