1995 Tour of Japan and Korea Director Lorin Maazel conducted the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on its tour of Japan and Korea, May 16 to June 4, 1995. This tour marked the symphony's first visit to Korea. The symphony performed a benefit concert in Japan's Kobe Green Arena for victims of the January 1995 earthquake. The 11-concert tour brought the orchestra to Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Seoul, Kita-Kryushu and Kobe. 1996 International Centennial Tour Director Lorin Maazel conducted the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on its International Centennial tour, January 29 to February 22.

Kremer was a staff assistant to President Reagan, serving as an advance representative in the Office of Presidential Advance from 1981 until 1985. She served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Liaison at the U.S. Department of the Treasury from 1985 to 1988. During the 1988 Presidential campaign she served as deputy tour director for Senator Dan Quayle and became his director of scheduling and advance during the transition a position she held until April 1991, when she became Deputy Director of the Office of Public Liaison. Upon the resignation of Bobbie Kilberg, Kremer was promoted to head the office.

Other cruise lines started offering him engagements giving him a long steady period of employment while making good money. A few years earlier he had fallen in love with a girl in Pittsburgh and after some arm- twisting he convinced her to join him on the cruise lines as a tour director. Together they worked several cruise ships out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Cape Canaveral, Florida. Tour director Henri Desgrange had tried many things to remove the team tactics from the Tour de France, because he wanted the race to be won on individual strength. In 1929, he had removed the sponsors, but this had had no effect; the Alcyon team members still cooperated and managed to let Maurice Dewaele win the race, even though he was sick. For 1930, Desgrange replaced the trade teams by national teams. He gave up on the idea that he could keep team tactics away from the Tour, but decided that he could still try to keep commercial team tactics away.

Vinokourov had returned a failed A test for an illegal blood transfusion from a compatible donor before the Stage 13 individual time trial on July 21, in which he placed first. In addition to Vinokourov, who was in 23rd place overall, the entire Astana Team was forced to withdraw, affecting highly placed riders such as 5th placed Andreas Klöden and 8th placed Andrey Kashechkin.

Shortly before the start of the Tour, it was announced that Dietrich Thurau had tested positive in his national championship. He was allowed to start the Tour while his B-sample was being tested. His B-sample gave a negative result, so he could continue the Tour. On the day of the final time trial, when it was all but clear that Zoetemelk would be the winner, tour director Jacques Goddet wrote in the newspaper l'Équipe that the only thing that could keep Zoetemelk away from a Tour victory was the drug tests for anabolic products after the eighteenth stage.

Deno J. Andrews (born 1971) is an American former professional three cushion billiards player, a tournament promoter, and a coach to some well-known pool champions. In September 2005, Andrews became Tour Director for the International Pool Tour (IPT), a major professional pool tour at that time. He ran the inaugural IPT event, the King of the Hill Shootout, an invitational tournament of 42 players from around the world, including many of the Billiard Congress of America's living Hall of Famers. The tournament paid out US$1,000,000 in total prize money, with a prize of $200,000 for the first- place finisher, Efren Reyes.

The video was filmed over two days on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 August 1995 while the band were on the South American leg of their World tour. Director Matthew Amos and producer Laura Kanerick and the 'Medialab' crew filmed their live show at Citibank Hall which was then known as the "Arena Metropolitan" in front of 6,500 fans. On the first and second days of shooting, the band were filmed amongst the Rio people. Mike, Paul and Shovell are photographed together in the sunshine and there are deliberate football references, with Heather singing separately by day and night amongst locations including the Rio Botanical Gardens.

Stubner began his entertainment career in 1989 in the mail room of management firm Gallin Morey Associates, where he struck up a close relationship with comedian Andrew Dice Clay, eventually becoming his tour director. By 1993, Stubner launched his own artist management company, Deluxe Entertainment, where he managed several acts including C+C Music Factory, House of Pain and Mick Fleetwood. In 1993 ownership of L'Équipe moved to the Amaury Group, which formed Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) to oversee its sports operations, although the Tour itself is operated by its subsidiary the Société du Tour de France.

The orchestra traveled to China and Taiwan from May 11 to 21, 2009, performing four concerts altogether, two at Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts, one at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center, and one at the Kaohsiung Main Stadium. The tour was funded by the Henry L. Hillman Foundation and Westinghouse. 2009 European Festivals Tour Director Manfred Honeck conducted the Pittsburgh Symphony on his first European tour from September 12–20, 2009.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, who was meeting with French president Jacques Chirac in Paris, travelled on his official jet to Cyprus on 19 July to allow 87 Canadians to return to Canada with him, in what he described as the "right thing to do". He was accompanied to Cyprus by only his essential staff: his bodyguards, communications aides, his logistics organizer, the tour director, a doctor, and his official photographer. Logistical difficulties developed after the government decided to evacuate Lebanon of Canadians to Turkey, and had to request that the British remove 120 Canadians to Cyprus to meet the prime minister's flight, but only about 20 boarded the British vessel. A boat chartered by the Canadian government brought Canadians, but was delayed for a number of reasons.

Tour director Craig Evans estimated that approximately 196 people were employed on tour, including 84 crew members and 42 entourage members who traveled on nine buses. Several environmentally- friendly initiatives were encouraged amongst tour personnel and concertgoers in an attempt to reduce the band's carbon footprint. Some of the efforts included: encouraging fans to use public transportation; offering compostable merchandise bags; requesting venues to offer paper straws (instead of plastic ones) and reusable beverage cups; offering vegan and vegetarian meals to tour personnel; providing reusable water bottles to tour crew and making water stations available to attendees; recycling guitar strings; and using hydrogen vehicles. Tour environmental advisor Michael Martin tracked the model of each tour vehicle and the mileage they accrued in an attempt to calculate the tour's total carbon dioxide emissions.

Sales were strong, with initial dates in Chicago and outside Boston and New York selling out within minutes once the public sale began, and with second shows being added at each venue. Due to the higher capacity of the 360 degree configuration, the shows often set records for the largest concert attendance at each venue; tour director Craig Evans claims the tour set attendance records for 60 different venues. Two of the U2 360° Tour's concerts remain in the top five highest-attended single concerts in the United States ever, with the 25 October performance in Pasadena, California, setting the record at 97,014 attendees. Sharon Watson became the seventh Artistic Director of Phoenix Dance Theatre in May 2009, continuing a relationship with the company that stretches over 20 years. She first joined Phoenix as a dancer under the stage name Chantal Donaldson from 1989 to 1997, during which time she choreographed the pieces Shaded Limits and Never Still for the company. She returned to Phoenix in 2000 as Rehearsal and Tour Director, following which she embarked upon a fellowship with the Clore Leadership Programme,"Clore Fellows: Sharon Watson" , Clore People, The Clore Leadership Programme. while continuing her freelance work mentoring emerging artists, lecturing in vocational dance schools and delivering bespoke training programmes.
