The Fury brought topflight soccer back to Philadelphia for the first time since the Philadelphia Atoms folded in 1976. They never had a winning season, but did make the playoffs two out of three seasons. Attendance dropped each year and after the 1980 season, the club was sold and moved, becoming the Montreal Manic, leaving Philadelphia without professional soccer until the Philadelphia Union joined MLS in 2010. By the mid-40s, after had played in Rangoon and Mussourie, Chic had established himself as a popular Bombay jazz musician. He started out with a group called the Spotlights and by 1945 had formed his own outfit, Chic and the Music Makers, beating out 12 other bands to win a contract at Green's Hotel, which was owned by the Taj Mahal Hotel. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Lleida enjoyed a second solid moment, under coach Mané. He joined the club in 1988 and took it from Segunda División B to La Liga. 1993–94 was the second topflight experience for the club; in spite of a 1–0 win over the FC Barcelona Dream Team at the Camp Nou, and another against Real Madrid, 2–1 at home, Lleida only won seven times altogether and was relegated once again. Fiedler led Hertha Berlin's amateurs to the 1993 Cup final, losing to a lone Ulf Kirsten strike, 15 minutes from time. He started his professional career in the second division, helping the side promote in 1996–97. For most of his topflight career, however, he was only second-choice to Hertha, successively to Gábor Király and Jaroslav Drobný; his best years came in 2004–07, before the Czech's arrival. On 2 August 2008, in a test match against Newcastle United, Fiedler sustained a serious injury, which ultimately forced him to retire at the end of the 2008–09 season.

In the early months of the year, it spent $14 million restoring of track between Greeley and Windsor, Colorado. This halved the rail traffic passing through the town of Fort Collins by providing a shorter route for traffic intended for routing along the Union Pacific. UD Lérida enjoyed a golden age in the late 1940s and early 1950s, when they progressed from the third to the first division in just three seasons. In 1949, they won the third-tier and, the following season, 1949–50, they made their debut in Segunda División. The club achieved their biggest league in history in this season, 9–2 win against CD Lugo, as it also finished runner-up in the league, which meant promotion to the topflight for the first time ever. The footballers of TG became independent as Sportverein Biberach in 1912 before rejoining their parent club 1931. Following World War II organizations throughout Germany, including sports and football clubs, were banned by occupying Allied authorities as part of the process of de-Nazification. A new club known as Spielvereinigung Biberach was established in 1946 out of the former memberships of TG, FC Wacker, and DJK 1931 Biberach. This team played first division football in the postwar Oberliga Südwest-Süd, but struggled to stay in the topflight. They won a relegation playoff over SV Laupheim (6:1) to avoid being sent down at the end of the 1946–47 season, but finished 10th the next year, before being relegated after an 11th place result in 1948–49.

With the signing of Sergio Nichiporuk on replace of Rodríguez, the club after two good season in Primera B, returned to the first tier of the Chilean football in 1998, being champion of the tournament of notable form not losing any match in the 1997 season, but again lost the category of be defeated 7–5 by Provincial Osorno in the aggregate result, via the Promotion play-offs. Finally, in 2001, thanks to the coach Jorge Socías, the club returned to the Chilean Primera División.
