By making himself seem impotent, even if all he really had was a tricky back, he was quietly subverting traditional gender categories, of the kind where action, decisiveness, thrusting forward are necessarily good, and retreat, passivity, flowering all feminine.

Both boxers have one arm thrusting forward in a punch and the other arm pulled back in preparation to deliver another jab. Each man aims for his opponent's head and upper body. Like Side A, the boxers are surrounded by spectators on either side, in the same alternating pattern of clothed and unclothed.

In 1992, a retrospective exhibition titled the "Howlett Architectural Projects" was curated by Michael Markham and Peter Brew. It took place at the University of Western Australia, focusing on the periods when Howlett was a visiting professor at the school of Architecture. In 2002, an exhibition on Howlett's pastel works was held at Perth Galleries featuring his drawing, which showed him staring straight out, foursquare, strong and forthright, his jaw thrusting forward in a determined set. It also portrayed his life and the changes he made to various buildings in Perth.

Bicoronal craniosynostosis may also result in widely spaced eyes and narrowing of the sinuses and tear ducts that may result in inflammation of the mucous membranes of the exposed portion of the eye. In addition to the previously named complications of bicoronal craniosynostosis, many babies will also be affected by hydrocephalus, more commonly known as water on the brain. Hydrocephalus results in increased pressure on the brain which can cause permanent brain damage if not treated promptly. An abnormally highly arched palate is also seen in affected individuals causing dental problems and the thrusting forward of the lower jaw.

The last Node is triangular in the opposite direction to the others, as part of the original concept that further sections would have bent back towards the hill, creating an S shape. The Nodes contain lifts, stairs and toilets, and all Nodes except A have striking open spiral stairs. The vertical structure consists of the Nodes, and evenly spaced supports formed as fin-like walls, which are expressed as tall piers on the rear, breaking up the space under the overhanging floors in a rhythm of thicker and thinner walls, while on the front the floors are partly cantilevered, thrusting forward on the first three floors to support only the spandrel beams, then as vertical walls for the next three floors, then as spandrel supports again for the final two floors. All concrete surfaces are in off-form concrete, with the spandrels, some columns and the underside of the floors smooth finished, while all other surfaces are vertically ribbed and bush hammered.
