He played in 2011 spring training for the Phillies and delivered a game-winning hit in one of the games.
Aside from observations of killer whales feeding on common threshers off New Zealand, adults have no known natural predators. Parasites documented from the common thresher include the protozoan Giardia intestinalis, the trematodes Campula oblonga (not usual host) and Paronatrema vaginicola, the tapeworms Acanthobothrium coronatum, Anthobothrium laciniatum, Crossobothrium angustum, Hepatoxylon trichiuri, Molicola uncinatus, Paraorygmatobothrium exiguum, P. filiforme, and Sphyriocephalus tergetinus, and the copepods Dinemoura discrepans, Echthrogaleus denticulatus, Gangliopus pyriformis, Kroeyerina benzorum, Nemesis aggregatus, N. robusta, N. tiburo, Nesippus orientalis, and Pandarus smithii.
Despite the rampant inflation in Germany in 1923, the year brought one good thing to Nieder Kostenz: electricity. More important than electric light, though, was the advent of electric motors, which began to be used for all kinds of machinery formerly powered by horses, oxen and cows, such as threshers. The inflation, however, did mean that it was quite a while before everyone who needed these motors had them. In the 1920s, there was almost no industry in the area besides agriculture.
Minor League teams in the area include the Clearwater Threshers (formerly the Clearwater Phillies) who play at Spectrum Field and the Dunedin Blue Jays who play Dunedin Stadium. The North American Soccer League's Tampa Bay Rowdies play at Progress Energy Park in St. Petersburg The Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is held every spring on the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront. The PGA Tour plays its Valspar Championship annually in March on the Copperhead Course at the Innisbrook Golf Resort in Palm Harbor.
Although occasionally sighted in shallow, inshore waters, thresher sharks are primarily pelagic; they prefer the open ocean, characteristically preferring water and less. Common threshers tend to be more prevalent in coastal waters over continental shelves. Common thresher sharks are found along the continental shelves of North America and Asia of the North Pacific, but are rare in the Central and Western Pacific. In the warmer waters of the Central and Western Pacific, bigeye and pelagic thresher sharks are more common.
Again, much threshing is still carried out by hand but there is an increasing use of mechanical threshers. Subsequently, paddy needs to be dried to bring down the moisture content to no more than 20% for milling. A familiar sight in several Asian countries is paddy laid out to dry along roads. However, in most countries the bulk of drying of marketed paddy takes place in mills, with village-level drying being used for paddy to be consumed by farm families.

Grapevines spread all over the village and produce various types of grapes, among which are the black grapes that are well known in northern Iraq. Modern agricultural machinery such as tractors, harvester-threshers (reapers), along with new methods of treating and curing plant epidemics now exist. However, irrigation is still a problem in the area, and farming still relies on rainfall. Currently, dozen of farms now belong to the government and are deputized to their owners to use them, as most were taken during Saddam Hussein's control.
The National Threshers Association (NTA) is a non-profit group of enthusiasts who are interested in steam-powered traction engines - also known as "steam tractors", "steam traction engines" or simply "steam engines" - as well as related equipment. The group's premier event is its annual reunion/show, which features live exhibits of antique steam engines and gas-powered machinery from throughout the United States and Canada. Dating back to 1944, the annual show is recognized as the oldest event of its type in the United States.
Sales of these machines were throughout the Midwest, Canada, Germany, South America, Russia, to which many Rowell Tiger Threshers were sold, and South Africa. He has built up one of the largest manufactories of the state, and gained for himself a comfortable fortune, with the factory employing more than 200 employees. Among the assets of the firm were 6 pedigreed trotting horses, including Badger Girl a champion trotter. The book value of these horses was placed at $4,200 in 1889, with their market value being higher.
WMSTR, or the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion, is an annual, non- profit "steam meet" held in the small town of Rollag, Minnesota. It takes place over the weekend of the US Labor Day holiday (first Monday in September), and draws around 80,000 visitors during the four days of the event. Beginning in 1954, the reunion has grown from a few farmers threshing grain, as their fathers had, to one of the largest steam venues in the nation. Antique and steam tractors and automobiles are featured.

Showing a glimpse of Romero’s enormous promise, on May 10, 2017, he threw eight one-hit innings against the Greenville Drive, in a BlueClaws home victory at FirstEnergy Park.
Spectrum Field (formerly Bright House Networks Field and Bright House Field) is a baseball stadium located in Clearwater, Florida, in the United States. The stadium was built in 2004 and has a maximum seating capacity of 8,500 people (7,000 fixed seats with additional grass berm seating for 1,500). A sculpture titled The Ace—by artist Kevin Brady—stands at the ballpark's west entrance plaza.
In 2006, Threshers (a UK-based off-licence retail chain) emailed vouchers to staff and suppliers. The emails were then redistributed by recipients, ultimately resulting in many of their branches almost running out of stock when the vouchers were honored by the company. While at the time the Thresher Group denied that they were attempting to run a viral email-based marketing campaign, the company repeated the exercise the following year. Similarly, a campaign for a Ferrari test drive garnered over 40,000 responses even though only 5,000 emails had been sent.
Ribbon society meeting in 1851 The Whiteboys were oath-bound secret societies in rural Ireland since the 1760s. The Threshers originated in County Mayo early in the nineteenth century and emphasized economic issues; its code regulated prices (including the price of potatoes), and demanded the reduction of the Church of Ireland's tithes and the Catholic Church's fees. Ribbon societies were first organized by poor Catholics during the 1810s. They began in northern Ireland to combat the Protestant Orange Order, but later expanded into agrarian agitation and spread southward.

The Greek philosopher Aristotle (384-322 BCE) wrote some of the earliest observations about the common thresher. In his Historia Animalia, he claimed that hooked threshers had a propensity for freeing themselves by biting through fishing lines, and that they protected their young by swallowing them. These "clever" behaviors, which have not been borne out by science, led the ancient Greeks to call it alopex (meaning "fox"), on which its modern scientific name is based. An oft-repeated myth about the common thresher is that they cooperate with swordfish to attack whales.
The Phillies signed him to a minor league contract and assigned him to the Clearwater Threshers, their Advanced-A affiliate, on March 25, 2013. Agostinelli was quoted as saying, "It's literally one of those things as a scout that you dream about." Despite his accolades from the scouting staff, García was not expected to reach the majors. Beginning the year in Clearwater before earning promotions to the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils and the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs, García combined to post a 1.67 ERA and 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings pitched (K/9).
The Count Tolstoy family is rich and ancient, as evidenced by the coat of arms of the family with the With Devotion and Diligence motto. As of 1886, the town, the center of Onufrievka Volost of Aleksandriysky Uyezd of Kherson Governorate, had 1414 people, 254 farmsteads, an Orthodox church, a school, 5 shops, and 3 fairs a year: Seredopisny, Mykilsky on 9 May and Pokrovsky. Mikhail Tolstoy was a large landowner and introduced advanced methods of management on their lands, used a perfect machinery at that time, iron plows, horse threshers and fans.

Martínez with Clearwater Threshers on July 26, 2009 A free agent, Martínez did not sign with a major league team during the winter. In March, he joined the Dominican Republic's squad for the 2009 World Baseball Classic, in an attempt to showcase his arm. Martínez pitched six scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts and no walks, but the team was quickly eliminated from the tournament and no MLB contract was forthcoming. In July 2009, Phillies scouts evaluated Martínez in two simulated games against the Phillies DSL team, leading to a one-year, $1-million contract.
These below 10 Hp engines on farms were also used to power other machinery such as threshers and grinding mills. One reasons for the focus on Danish engines at The Engine Collection is that there were more than 200 stationary engine manufacturers in Denmark, often with their own foundry, in the golden ages of Danish industrialisation, 1890 - 1930. A similar multitude of manufacturers where found in some other countries. The emphasis on Danish engines at The Engine Collection has also to do with that the largest Danish manufacturer, B&W;, held nearly 50 pct.
The seeds were winnowed by stirring through the heap with long sticks, and gathered on opossum skins. Then the men took over as threshers, separating the husks by alternately beating and then stamping the seeds laid in two holes, on rectangular the other circular. The refined product then underwent further purifying by employing wiri or bark dishes, and jubbil. The resulting seedstock was then packed in skin bags, Once taken out of storage, the seeds were prepared by grinding then, with additions of water, on dajuri millstones and cooking the cakes over ashes.
Since joining the Prospect League for the 2009 season, the Sliders have seen several players drafted by MLB teams. Most recently, Chatham, Illinois (just outside of Springfield) native Nick Maton was selected in the 2017 MLB draft by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 7th round. As of 7 August 2019, no former members of the Sliders have appeared in an MLB game, with Maton, and Elliot Soto being the only currently active players in an MLB organization. Maton is currently assigned to the Clearwater Threshers, an Advanced A affiliate of the Phillies.

Denis graduated as Bachelor of Arts from the University of Dublin in 1773, entered Middle Temple in 1774 and was called to the Irish Bar in 1776. He was a commissioner in bankruptcy, became Recorder of Dublin in 1785 and a Baron of the Exchequer in 1794.Ball p.229 He was frequently called on to sit on special commissions to deal with political crime, notably after the Rebellion of 1798, the Irish Rebellion of 1803 (which was led by Robert Emmet) and the agrarian unrest caused by a secret society called The Threshers in 1806.
Carousel feeding has only been documented in the Norwegian killer whale population, as well as some oceanic dolphin species. In New Zealand, sharks and rays appear to be important prey, including eagle rays, long-tail and short-tail stingrays, common threshers, smooth hammerheads, blue sharks, basking sharks, and shortfin makos. With sharks, orcas may herd them to the surface and strike them with their tail flukes, while bottom-dwelling rays are cornered, pinned to the ground and taken to the surface. In other parts of the world, killer whales have preyed on broadnose sevengill sharks, tiger sharks and even small whale sharks.
The Agricultural Building, located directly behind the Plainsman Building to the east was built in 1986 and houses an actual homestead, around which the building was constructed. It includes a large collection of farm machinery including horse-drawn implements such as plows and threshers, an early steam-powered tractor, various tractors leading from the 1920s into the present day and a collection of vintage automobiles from the 1920s and 30s. The Fairview School, a one-room schoolhouse, was moved to the museum in 1981 and displays authentic 19th century educational tools and desks. It, too, is located behind the Plainsman Building.

The first Rough and Tumble reunion was held in 1948 on the grounds of Arthur S. Young's farm equipment dealership south of U.S. Route 30 at the east end of Kinzers, Pennsylvania, about eight miles east of the city of Lancaster. Young and his father had maintained a number of steam traction engines, and Young served as an officer of the Pennsylvania Threshermen and Farmers Protective Association. A number of local steam engine enthusiasts encouraged Young to hold a Threshers Reunion to showcase his collection of engines, and the PTFPA agreed to provide free food and advertising for the event. In his second minor-league season, Golson was promoted to the A-level Lakewood BlueClaws in Lakewood, New Jersey. He continued to accumulate high strikeout numbers, with 106 in 375 at-bats, but he also posted a .264 average, hit 8 triples (a career-high), and stole 25 bases. After the 2005 season, Golson was named the second-best prospect in the Phillies' system by Baseball America, the highest spot he would reach in those rankings. Most of the 2006 season was spent at Lakewood as well, with a late- season promotion to the Clearwater Threshers.
Common threshers are well regarded by sports fishers as one of the strongest fighting sharks alongside the shortfin mako shark (Isurus oxyrhinchus), and are ranked as game fish by the International Game Fish Association. They are pursued by anglers using rod and reel off California, South Africa, and elsewhere. Frank Mundus has called thresher sharks "exceedingly stubborn" and "pound for pound, a harder fish to whip" than the mako. Fishing for the common thresher is similar to that for the mako; the recommended equipment is a rod and a big-game reel holding at least 365 m (400 yd) of line.
The first threshing machine was invented circa 1786 by the Scottish engineer Andrew Meikle, and the subsequent adoption of such machines was one of the earlier examples of the mechanization of agriculture. During the 19th century, threshers and mechanical reapers and reaper-binders gradually became widespread and made grain production much less laborious. Michael Stirling is said to have invented a rotary threshing machine in 1758 which for forty years was used to process all the corn on his farm at Gateside. No published works have yet been found but his son William made a sworn statement to his minister to this fact.
There are three primary operating events throughout the year: the "Old Threshers Reunion," held on the 5 days ending on Labor Day; "Midwest Haunted Rails," held on the last 3 Friday/Saturday pairs in October along with the "Great Pumpkin Train" held on the MHR Saturdays; and "North Pole Express," held on the 3 Saturday/Sunday pairs starting Thanksgiving weekend. The railroad is also available for hire for special occasions. During the off- season, equipment can be seen moving about as needed for repairs between the South Station, Old Threhser's Museum "B," and the main shop.
Each year, the National Threshers Association reunion/show features approximately 50 steam engines - all operating - in addition to hundreds of gas tractors and gas engines. Daily demonstrations include wheat threshing, straw baling, sawmill, a shingle mill, farm plowing, and machinery parades with covered grandstand seating for spectators. Other highlights include antique tractor and steam engine pulling displays, hill climb, engineer skills contests, evening spark shows, pony brake horsepower testing, Baker fans, gas tractor parade into the nearby town of Wauseon, and other displays. Air-powered engines displays are also featured, along with photos and memorabilia displays dating back to the reunion's first show.

The Royal Commission into the Condition of the Poorer Classes in Ireland, published in 1838, provided some data on the living conditions of the rural poor living near Crossmolina. The diet of the poor was almost entirely potatoes, while the consumption of meat was very rare (estimated to be only once or twice a year). Laborers could expect a daily payment of between 6 and 8 pennies per day, with some element of wages being paid in the form of food. During the first decade of the century, local peasants formed a secret society called "The Threshers".
The enormous eyes of the bigeye thresher allow them to hunt in dim light. The bigeye thresher has larger teeth than other threshers and feeds on a wider variety of prey. Known food items include schooling forage fish such as mackerel and herring, benthic fishes such as hake and whiting, larger pelagic fishes such as lancetfish and small billfish, squid such as lycoteuthids and ommastrephids, and possibly crab megalopae. They likely use their long tails to stun their prey prior to capture, as they are often found hooked by their tails on longlines and with the bait fish in their stomachs.
In 1798 Fitzgerald was superintending agriculture at both Toongabbie and Parramatta.(HRNSW, II 14; III 27-28.) Colonial government policy for agricultural production in the first decades of European settlement see-sawed between favouring government farms and private enterprise. In September 1795 Governor Hunter arrived in the colony with orders to re- establish public farming. As this involved withdrawing convict labour from settlers, it was a highly unpopular policy with both settlers and convicts. In December 1797 a large 90 feet (27.4 metres) long threshing barn was completed at Toongabbie which enabled eight or nine threshers to work concurrently.
On July 26, 2017, the Rockies traded Hammer, shortstop Jose Gomez, and pitcher Alejandro Requena to the Philadelphia Phillies, for Pat Neshek. Steam tractor lineup at the 2010 Reunion The Midwest Old Threshers Reunion is an annual event that takes place in the small town of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, United States, and runs for five days, ending on the Labor Day weekend. It was first held in 1950, and has taken place every year except 2020, when it was scrapped caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. When first started, it focused on steam engines and antique agricultural equipment, but has developed into an entertainment event with a wider remit. The tiny town of less than 10,000 inhabitants is invaded by many times that number of visitors, drawn from around the world.
The Carpenter Complex is a complex of four baseball fields, training facilities, and offices in Clearwater, Florida. It opened as Carpenter Field in 1967. It is the Florida home of the Philadelphia Phillies baseball operations, spring training site for the Phillies’ minor league players, home to the Gulf Coast League Phillies, and adjacent to Spectrum Field, spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies and regular season home of the Clearwater Threshers. While the Complex is now adjacent to Spectrum Field, the Phillies, until 2004, played spring training games a short drive away, which gave the Complex its own identity in the Phillies organizational structure and the team's history.
In 2015, the inaugural season of Tortugas baseball, Daytona finished with a 77-58 record and won the Florida State League North Division Championship with a two-game sweep of the Clearwater Threshers in the first round of the playoffs. The club was previously known as the Daytona Cubs from 1993 to 2014 when the team was an affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The team has won six Florida State League championships: in 1995, 2000, 2004 (co-champions with the Tampa Yankees), 2008, 2011 and 2013. Their sixth FSL Championship came over the Charlotte Stone Crabs, winning 3–1 in a best-of-five series.
Escalona was signed as a gratis agent by the Phillies in the year after 2003. He spent around 24 months playing for the Venezuelan Summer League Phillies, where he compiled a 4–5 record between 2005 and 2006. He pitched 107 innings and struck out 105 batters over the two seasons. Escalona was promoted in 2007, playing for the Williamsport Crosscutters, the Lakewood BlueClaws, and the Clearwater Threshers. At Williamsport, he started seven games, posting a 2–2 record and a 7.57 earned run average (ERA). A 1–4 record and 4.15 ERA in Lakewood was not enough to stop him from being promoted again.
She used the same pen name in 1884 in Świt, redacted by Maria Konopnicka, with a story Jazon Bobrowski, and a humoresque published in 1885, Farsa panny Heni. Her novel debut was Straszny dziadunio, which won in a 1886 competition held by „Świt”, which publiushed the novel in episodic format. The relationships of the estate with local Belarussian peasants were varied. In 1890 the writer could face up to two weeks of arrest for „active abuse” (beating) of an Antopol shepherd (the case was solved amicably by paying the shepherd 5 rubles). In December 1900 there was an arson, burning a barn, threshers and cowshed with fifty cattle.
Hamels pitching for the Clearwater Threshers, advanced-A affiliates of the Phillies, in Before the 2014 season, Hamels announced that he would not be ready to pitch on Opening Day because of tendonitis in his biceps. On April 6 Hamels pitched in a Minor League Class A-Advanced game, striking out four while allowing two earned runs on three hits in four innings. He made his first start of the season on April 23. Despite lack of run support contributing to a poor win-loss record, Hamels was among the best pitchers in the National League, and was even mentioned as a Cy Young candidate.
Predators of the pelagic thresher include larger fishes (including other sharks) and toothed whales. Known parasites of this species include the tapeworms Litobothrium amplifica, L. daileyi, and L. nickoli, which inhabit the shark's spiral valve intestine, and copepods of the genus Echthrogaleus, which infest the skin. At Malapascua Island in the Philippines, pelagic threshers have been observed regularly visiting cleaning stations occupied by cleaner wrasses (Labroides dimidiatus and Thalassoma lunare), during which they exhibit characteristic behaviors to facilitate the cleaning interaction. These visits occur more frequently early in the morning, and may be why these normally oceanic sharks are sometimes encountered in shallow water.
The upper caudal fin lobe is enormously elongated as is characteristic of threshers, measuring about as long as the rest of the shark; the thin, gently curving lobe is held at a steep upward angle and has a notch in the trailing margin near the tip. The skin is covered by small, overlapping dermal denticles, each with three horizontal ridges and three to five marginal teeth. This species is metallic purplish brown to gray above, becoming more bluish on the flanks. The underside is white, which extends over the pectoral and pelvic fin bases; this pattern is in contrast to the pelagic thresher, which is solidly colored over these fins.
In one version of events, the thresher shark circles the whale and distracts it by beating the sea to a froth with its tail, thereby allowing the swordfish to impale it in a vulnerable spot with its rostrum. In an alternate account, the swordfish positions itself beneath the whale, while the thresher leaps out of the water and lands on top of the whale, hammering it onto the swordfish's rostrum. Yet other authors describe the thresher "cutting huge gashes" in the side of the whale with its tail. Neither threshers nor swordfish, however, are known to feed on whales or indeed possess the dentition to do so.
Grullón was born in Bonao, Dominican Republic. He signed with the Philadelphia Phillies for $575,000 as an international free agent, in July 2012. In 2013, Grullón made his Minor League Baseball (MiLB) debut as a 17-year-old with the Gulf Coast Phillies in the Rookie Gulf Coast League, batting .273/.333/.364, with 1 home run (HR) and 14 runs batted in (RBI), in 121 at bats (AB). In 2014, he played for the Williamsport Crosscutters in the Class A-Short New York-Penn League, the Lakewood BlueClaws in the Class A South Atlantic League, and the Clearwater Threshers in the Class A-Advanced Florida State League, batting .227/.267/.
The ships had their torpedo tubes moved to the middle of the hull and angled outboard. This made available the required large space in the bow for the BQQ-2 (BQQ-5 as modernized from the late 1970s) sonar sphere, a new and powerful low-frequency detection sensor. Initially armed with Mark 37 torpedoes, by the late 1960s they carried the improved Mark 48 and the nuclear UUM-44 SUBROC short-range anti-submarine missile, replacing up to six Mk 48s. The Threshers were the first class fitted with the Mark 113 fire control system that enabled the use of SUBROC; they were later upgraded with the Mark 117 system.
The seawater and main ballast systems of future classes (Sturgeon-class SSNs and SSBNs) were redesigned, and some Threshers and other submarines were rebuilt to SUBSAFE standards. SUBSAFE includes specific training of SUBSAFE quality assurance inspectors in the engineering crew, and tracks extremely detailed information about every component of a submarine that is subject to sea pressure. Joints in any equipment carrying seawater must be welded (not brazed), and every hull penetration larger than a specified size can be quickly shut by a remote hydraulic mechanism. The program has been very successful, as no SUBSAFE submarines have been lost as of 2019 ( was not SUBSAFE).
In 1847, Daniel Massey established the Newcastle Foundry and Machine Manufactory in what is now Newcastle, Ontario. The company made some of the world's first mechanical threshers, at first by assembling parts from the United States, but eventually designing and building its own equipment. Daniel Massey's son, Hart Massey, subsequently renamed the enterprise as the Massey Manufacturing Co. In 1879, the company moved to Toronto, where it soon became one of the city's leading employers. The huge complex of factories, consisting of a site with plant and head office at 915 King Street West (now part of Liberty Village), became one of the best-known features of the city.
By the mid-19th century, Hamilton had developed as a significant manufacturing city. Its early products were often machines and equipment used to process the region's farm produce, such as steam engines, hay cutters, reapers and threshers. Other production included machine tools, house hardware, saws for mills, paper, paper making machinery, carriages, guns, whiskey, beer, woolen goods, and myriad and diverse output made from metal, grain, and cloth. By the early 20th century, the town was a heavy- manufacturing center for vaults and safes, machine tools, cans for vegetables, paper, paper making machinery, locomotives, frogs and switches for railroads, steam engines, diesel engines, foundry products, printing presses, and automobile parts.
Cumulatively, Pettibone finished ninth in the league with a 3.49 ERA, posted a win-loss record of 8–6, and threw a total of 131 innings. He pitched for the Clearwater Threshers of the Florida State League (Single-A advanced) the next year, and had a strong season, leading the league in innings pitched (161, tying for second place in starts (27), and finishing with the fifth-best ERA (2.96). Pettibone also was named a league all star, and the Phillies' minor league pitcher of the week in late April. At the conclusion of the season, Baseball America rated him the Phillies' fourth-best prospect.
It was the first iron foundry in Butte County. The business grew and in January 1882, he bought out his partner, but only a month later, the business was destroyed by fire. Although he carried little insurance, he recovered quickly, and rebuilt a larger foundry and machine-shop where he did repair work, and made store fronts, barley crushers, steam engines, threshers and traction engines. He did almost all of the iron work to be done in Northern California at the time, including work for the ten saw mills which became the Sierra Lumber Company, and he continued to serve the mills after they were absorbed by the Diamond Match Company.
The government invested in irrigation, infrastructure, and other pro-rice projects. The World Bank also provided financing for dams, canals, locks, ditches, and other infrastructure in the Greater Chao Phraya Project. Pro-small farm mechanization policies protected agro-machinery manufacturers from outside competition. They also stimulated small machinery research and development that resulted by the late-1990s in nearly two million locally produced two-wheel tractors, as well as one million axial flow pumps for irrigation, hundreds of thousands of small horsepower rice threshers, and 10,000 small horsepower caterpillar track-propelled combines that are able to harvest in small, fragmented, and still wet fields Thepent, Viboon. 2009.
Seeds can be broken and ruined as they go through the thresher, and seed breakage can happen more often with threshers that are the wrong size or design for the type of seed. The wire loops or spikes may have to be adjusted if seeds appear to be broken (please see suggestion for spacing). Seed breakage also happens with stomping and beating, however if the thresher is not built in an appropriate way for the specific grain, more breakage may occur. If the thresher is well-suited for the size of the grain and stalks, it should have fewer broken seeds than beating or stomping.
Leibrandt signed and spent 2014 with the GCL Phillies and Williamsport Crosscutters, pitching to a combined 3–5 record and 2.82 ERA with 67 strikeouts and an 0.97 WHIP in 60.2 innings. On July 1, Myers agreed to be optioned down to the minors to address his mechanical issues and focus on pitching. It was reported that he would make at least three starts for the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He did make one start for the Phillies AA affiliate, the Reading Phillies, and one start for the class-A Clearwater Threshers, to maintain his five-day pitching schedule. He returned to the Phillies and started against the New York Mets on July 23, but did not factor in a decision until his second game back against the Washington Nationals on July 29, where he won his fourth game of the year.
NOAA researchers tagging a common thresher - such efforts are critical for developing conservation measures. All three thresher shark species were reassessed from Data Deficient to Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2007. The rapid collapse of the Californian subpopulation (over 50% within three generations) prompted concerns regarding the species' susceptibility to overfishing in other areas, where fishery data are seldom reported and aspects of life history and population structure are little known. In addition to continued fishing pressure, common threshers are also taken as bycatch in other gear such as bottom trawls and fish traps, and are considered a nuisance by mackerel fishers, as they become entangled in the nets.

The Philadelphia Phillies drafted Kendrick in the seventh round (205th overall) of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft, which caused him to reject a football scholarship offer to Washington State University. Kendrick began his career in the lower levels of the minor league system, and struggled mightily. A feature article in Phillies magazine noted, Early in Kendrick's career, many within the organization questioned his work ethic and maturity, which they thought may have contributed to his underachievement. In 2006, however, the Phillies "patience was ... rewarded"; pitching for the Lakewood BlueClaws for the third consecutive season, he earned Phillies Minor League Pitcher of the Month accolades for May, thus warranting a promotion to the Clearwater Threshers.
The season found Ríos pitching for the Lakewood BlueClaws, where he compiled a 6-2 record, and 3.69 ERA, in 102.1 innings pitched. He spent with the Clearwater Threshers, where he was 6-5, with a 2.75 ERA, in 26 games (ten of which were starts). The next year, , again found him with Clearwater, the GCL Phillies, and the Reading Fightin Phils, where he was a combined 5-4, with a 5.74 ERA, in 37 games (seven starts). There are some differences between the Bug-Byte and Software Projects versions. The scroll-text during the attract mode is different, to reflect the new copyright, and there are also several other cosmetic changes, although gameplay remains the same: # In Processing Plant, the enemy at the end of the conveyor belt is a bush in the original, whereas the Software Projects one resembles a Pac-Man ghost. # In Amoebatrons' Revenge, the original Bug-Byte amoebatrons look like alien octopuses with tentacles hanging down, whereas the Software Projects amoebatrons resemble the Bug-Byte logo - smiling beetles, with little legs up their sides. # In The Warehouse, the original game has threshers travelling up and down the vertical slots, rotating about the screen's X-axis.
Mayor Aungst served on Pinellas County's Tourist Development Council, the advisory board of Pinellas County's Convention and Visitors Bureau, using his position as mayor to encourage tourists to visit the area, especially after the events of 9/11/2001. Aungst was instrumental in putting together a public-private partnership to build a new Community Sports Complex Bright House Networks Field to host Philadelphia Phillies Spring Training Baseball and their minor league team the Clearwater Threshers and other community events. In addition he spearheaded a public-private partnership to build a new signature public library in downtown Clearwater. Under his leadership the city built multiple community recreation centers and athletic complexes and was named Sports Illustrated magazine's "Sports Town USA" for the state of Florida.

The team assigned him to the Gulf Coast League Phillies, a rookie-league affiliate, where he appeared in two games before being promoted to short-season Batavia for the remainder of the season. Carpenter pitched well enough to earn a promotion to high-A Clearwater for the 2007 season, and he did not disappoint. In 24 starts for the Threshers, Carpenter posted a 17–6 record and a 3.30 ERA, striking out 116 batters in 161 innings pitched.
The Nevado del Ruiz of Los Nevados National Park seen from the city Its core economy has traditionally been the cultivation and production of coffee. This fomented the creation of new types of employment and several factories, some of which remain in the metropolitan area while others have reduced their operations or moved to other cities aggravating the unemployment problem. These companies manufacture products such as liquor, shoes, rubber, chocolate, banks, detergents and soaps, threshing and packaged coffee, software, and metallurgy, among others. In addition, there are institutions and companies involved in the coffee sector as the Departmental Committee of Coffee Growers of Caldas, Almacafé, Cenicafé, and a number of other industries involved in the process of coffee (threshers, cooperatives, exporters).
Elizabeth's tenure ended in 1414,Page, 'Priory of Flixton', citing Norwich Episcopal Registers VII.84, says she died in office that year: but Suckling follows Browne Willis, An History of the Mitred Parliamentary Abbies, 2 vols (Robert Gosling, London 1719), II, p. 223 (Google), from Bishop Tanner's collections, in affirming that she resigned her office. to be replaced by Katherine Pilley, and at about that time a list was drawn up of all the people living within the priory precinct. In addition to the 12 nuns and 2 chaplains, there was a domestic staff of at least 4 maids, a baker and assistant, a cook and porter, estate workers including a cowherd, a swineherd, 2 threshers, a wood-hauler and 2 shop-workers, and 6 female servants.
Based on cytochrome b genes, Martin and Naylor (1997) concluded the thresher sharks form a monophyletic sister group to the clade containing the families Cetorhinidae (basking shark) and Lamnidae (mackerel sharks). The megamouth shark (Megachasma pelagios) was placed as the next-closest relative to these taxa, though the phylogenetic position of that species has yet to be resolved with confidence. Cladistic analyses by Compagno (1991) based on morphological characters, and Shimada (2005) based on dentition, have both corroborated this interpretation. Within the family, an analysis of allozyme variation by Eitner (1995) found the common thresher is the most basal member, with a sister relationship to a group containing the unrecognized fourth Alopias species and a clade comprising the bigeye and pelagic threshers.
This rally was originally created to promote heritage machinery of all classes at work and to provide a suitable venue for vintage enthusiasts to display their machines, as well as allowing the general public to view rare agricultural and mechanical treasures from the past. There is also a pet's corner, always popular with children, a cake sale, numerous stands and stalls with art and craft displays, a dog show, sheep dog trials, road rolling, stone crushing, line dancing and a non-stop disco. This is a fun-day out for collectors, enthusiasts and visitors alike with car parking and camping facilities set up in the village.
On 19 December 2005, Unwins collapsed and went into insolvency, with, at the time, the closure of 381 stores and the loss of 1,800 Unwins staff jobs. Accountancy firm KPMG were appointed as joint administrators, and they were able to sell 200 former Unwins stores to rival firm and First Quench Retailing-owned Thresher Group, and intended saving 1,200 former jobs. It was reported that the ultimate downfall of Unwins was due to its failure to adapt and evolve its offerings to the needs and requirements of the current market trends. Thresher Group, which then already had around 2,000 UK stores, including Wine Rack, Victoria Wines and Bottoms Up – were to convert its 200 Unwins stores into the Threshers brand.
The Astros traded Eshelman, Mark Appel, Vince Velasquez, Brett Oberholtzer, and Harold Arauz to the Philadelphia Phillies for Ken Giles and Jonathan Araúz on December 12, 2015. He spent the 2016 season with the Clearwater Threshers of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League and the Reading Fightin Phils of the Class AA Eastern League, where he posted a 9–7 record with a 4.25 ERA, along with a 0.97 WHIP, between both clubs. Eshelman began the 2017 season with Reading, and earned a promotion to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs of the Class AAA International League in May. He posted a combined 13–3 record with a 2.40 ERA between both teams. The 2018 season found him once again on the IronPigs’ roster.
Giles was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the seventh round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft, and he signed with the club despite initially committing to transfer to play college baseball for the University of Arizona. He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Phillies that year, and made three appearances with the team. He opened the 2012 season with the Low-A Lakewood BlueClaws, and after finding success there – he recorded five saves and a 3.61 ERA, working mostly as a reliever (although occasionally as a starter) – he earned a promotion to the Class A-Advanced Clearwater Threshers, with whom he worked solely out of the bullpen, and posted a 3.07 ERA and .183 batting average against (BAA).
Equipment produced by Chinese factories were generally some years behind standard Western designs. Agriculture received a smaller share of state investment than industry did and remained at a much lower investment average than that of technology and productivity did. Despite a significant increase in the availability of tractors, trucks, electric pumps and mechanical threshers, most agricultural activities were still performed by people or animals. Although the central administration coordinated the economy and redistributed the resources to the regions that required them when necessary, most of the economic activity was very decentralized and there was little flow of goods and services between regions, causing those suffering areas to wait for the central administration to step in before any relief was given.
In 1994, the Manatees won the East Division title, but lost the Florida State League championship series to the Tampa Yankees in four games. They won the East Division again in 2001, but due to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks the league championship series was canceled and the Manatees and the West Division champion, the Tampa Yankees, were declared co-champions. In 2007, the Manatees won the North Division title but lost in the league championship series to the Clearwater Threshers in four games. On August 12, 2009, the Manatees recorded the 1,000th win in franchise history with an 8–2 win over the Dunedin Blue Jays. The Manatees were affiliated with the Florida Marlins from 1994 to 2001 and with the Montreal Expos from 2002 through 2004.
Mills began 2017 with the Hagerstown Suns and was named to the South Atlantic League's All-Star Game roster, although he opted not to participate in the game. Writing for MASN, Luke Erickson described the left-hander as enjoying a "breakout season" through the first half of the 2017 season, as he posted a 2.31 ERA with 85 strikeouts and a 0.87 WHIP over 81⅔ innings as a starting pitcher through the end of June. The Nationals traded Mills to the Philadelphia Phillies on July 28, 2017, for Howie Kendrick. Philadelphia assigned him to the Clearwater Threshers and he finished the season there. In Asian sub-tropical countries, a similar process has begun with the introduction of smaller, lower-tech and much lower-priced 2WTs in the 4-9 horsepower range that can be safely operated in the small, narrow terraces, and are light enough to be lifted and lowered from one terrace to the next. What is different from the Alpine use is that these 2WTs are being used for tillage and crop establishment of maize, wheat, and potato crops, and with their small 60-70cm-wide rotovators and special cage wheels are puddling the terraces for transplanted and broadcast rice. Farmers are also using the engines as stationary power sources for powering water pumps and threshers. Even more recently farmers are experimenting with use of small reaper- harvester attachments.
Irvin was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, signing for $800,000. Video montage of the Otto engines running at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion (WMSTR), in Rollag, Minnesota. (2 min 16 s, 320x240, 340 kbit/s video) Various scientists and engineers contributed to the development of internal combustion engines. In 1791, John Barber developed a turbine. In 1794 Thomas Mead patented a gas engine. Also in 1794 Robert Street patented an internal-combustion engine, which was also the first to use the liquid fuel (petroleum) and built an engine around that time. In 1798, John Stevens designed the first American internal combustion engine. In 1807, French engineers Nicéphore (who went on to invent photography) and Claude Niépce ran a prototype internal combustion engine, using controlled dust explosions, the Pyréolophore. This engine powered a boat on the Saône river, France.

Essentially, Hollands pitched for "whatever minor-league team required pitching help", which in one case required him to sleep on the living room floor of a shared apartment. Late in the season in Lehigh Valley, he compiled a 9.24 earned run average (ERA) in three starts, and possessed a fastball that reached only , prompting Rod Nichols, then Lehigh Valley's pitching coach, and subsequently the Phillies' bullpen coach, to praise Hollands' work ethic, but opine that his pitching repertoire was insufficiently effective. He had a solid 2013 season with Clearwater and Reading, recording a 1.56 ERA in 14 games for Clearwater between May 3 and July 10, and then a 4.06 ERA after being promoted to Reading.
