Thalassa Sea & Spa is the thalassotherapy brand of the group Accor. In 1984, Accor purchased the Quiberon institute, the first of the Thalassa brand, and the largest thalassotherapy center in France to this day. Thalassa Sea & Spa has 9 centers in France and 4 abroad (Italy, Morocco, Bahrain).

The shore extends from the port of Le Groff adjoining the commune of Trélévern, to Port-du-Royau, near the dunes of Port-Blanc. Trévou- Tréguignec has two beaches, Royau and Trestel (Breton traezh, fine sand). Trestel, the nude beach, attracts many summer visitors and flew the European Blue flag (indicating environmental quality) from 1998 to 2004. There is also a Thalassotherapy center.

During the 1990s, Le Grau-du-Roi continued to develop various facilities: a casino opened in 1993 and the Waterfront Boulevard was renovated and enlarged, which eventually became the Marshal Boulevard in June. 1996 saw the construction of a waste-water treatment plant and the installation of a thalassotherapy center settled in Port-Camargue. Additionally, the city acquired the private nursing home of the St. Vincent residence in 1999. While being candidate of the RPR for senatorial elections in September 1998, he was defeated in the second round, coming in fifth place behind Gilbert Baumet.

In 1983, Novotel-SIEH acquired and merged with the group Jacques Borel International to create the Accor group, which was introduced to the Paris stock exchange the same year. "Accord" means "agreement" in French. In 1984, Accor bought the Quiberon thalassotherapy center, which became the first of the Thalasso Sea & Spa brand, and acquired the fine catering company Lenôtre the following year. In 1985, the firm launched Formule 1, a brand of super- economy hotels conceived to fit between the uncomfortable no-star hotels and the reasonable standing of 2-star hotels.

In 1984, Accor bought the thalassotherapy center of Quiberon in Brittany, Western France, which became the first of the Thalassa brand and its flagship center. By 1999, Thalassa operated 10 locations, and started to diversify in spa centers, fitness, beauty and health services. All Thalassa centers are linked to a hotel brand of the Accor group. In 2001, Thalassa opened its first location outside of France, in Vilalara, Portugal, followed by Essaouira in Morocco. In 2005, a “Le Spa by Accor Thalassa” was planned to open in the Los Angeles Sofitel.

Taking the example of the European clubs, and in the interest of professionalism, Étoile Sportive du Sahel has a forming and training center for players located in Sousse. It consists of six football fields including two synthetic, a restaurant, a weight room, a 3-star hotel called "Star's Sport Residence" and a thalassotherapy center. The center allowed the club to export talents to Europe, like Amine Chermiti (transferred to Hertha BSC in 2008), Yassine Chikhaoui (transferred to FC Zürich in 2006), Chaker Zouaghi, Mohamed Ali Nafkha, Ammar Jemal, Karim Haggui, Aymen Abdennour, Zoubeir Baya, Hamdi Nagguez, and Mohamed Amine Ben Amor and many other players, and especially allowed him to be constantly competitive to win local or continental titles.
