Born in Oakville, Ontario, Foy was drafted by the Minnesota Wild 175th overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He began his hockey career with Merrimack College in the NCAA. From there he moved on to the Ottawa 67's of the OHL. In the 2002–03 season with the 67's Foy formed one of the most dominating tandems in the history of the OHL with teammate Corey Locke.
The NR (G528) was 10-ton 6x4 cargo trucks similar to the L series. An ED inline 6 cylinder diesel engine developed . Originally intended for British use as light tank transporters in North Africa, they had wide rear tandems so that oversize 14.00x20 single tires could be used. 90 NR1 had cabs of the obsolete EX, models NR2 to NR7 had L series cabs, NR8 and later had open cabs.
Over his career, he was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times, second most in franchise history. Early in his career, Atwater teamed with fellow Broncos safety Dennis Smith to form one of the best safety tandems of their generation. Both would later be inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame. During his 10-year career in Denver, Atwater started in 155 games, tying him for seventh in franchise history for games started.
These were constructed along simpler lines than conventional tandems, and, like the Picador, used a lugless construction. As a result, they were inexpensive and popular. In 1984, Pashley launched what was to be its last 'all British' bike - the 'Patriot'. This was a conventional sports light roadster design with all the components sourced from the UK. Some components became unavailable and the Patriot name was later used on a 24-inch wheel hire bike.
As greater installation of private telephones, for both small business and private residences, increased in the 1970s, direct connections among the tandems in adjacent regions were installed, and a three-level tier of switches, local, tandem, and regional interconnection was implemented, with final routing through Paris. Also, during the 1970s and 1980s, the smaller rural switches were replaced and combined with nearby automated offices, and a closed numbering scheme was adopted for dialing consistency.
List of bicycle types Bicycles can be categorized in different ways: e.g. by function, by number of riders, by general construction, by gearing or by means of propulsion. The more common types include utility bicycles, mountain bicycles, racing bicycles, touring bicycles, hybrid bicycles, cruiser bicycles, and BMX Bikes. Less common are tandems, lowriders, tall bikes, fixed gear, folding models and recumbents (one of which was used to set the IHPVA Hour record).
Exit-only models are also used at enclosed areas such as theme parks, zoos, or amusement parks, to allow visitors to leave, while denying admission to those who have not paid. Additionally there are single, and double or tandem turnstiles that contain two rotors side by side in the same frame. This allows more throughput in a limited space, as tandems frequently are more narrow than two single turnstiles placed side by side.
Conventional metallic bicycle wheels for single rider bikes commonly have 28, 32 or 36 spokes, while wheels on tandems have as many as 40 or 48 spokes to support the weight of an additional rider. BMX bikes commonly have 36 or 48 spoke wheels. Lowrider bicycles may have as many as 144 spokes per wheel. Wheels with fewer spokes have an aerodynamic advantage, as the aerodynamic drag from the spokes is reduced.
For his career in Kansas City, he picked off 30 passes and scored 5 touchdowns. Ross played in a total of 156 games for the Chiefs. He went to Atlanta as a free agent before the 1994 season and later returned to play in five games in 1997. Along with former teammate Albert Lewis, Ross was named one of the NFL's top 10 all-time cornerback tandems by the NFL Network in July 2008.
Painting was originally done in house, but was then outsourced and completed to a high standard. The frames and completed cycles not only have a reputation for innovation and excellence, but for the quality of finish, reliability and comfort. The range included track bikes, road bikes, touring bikes, tandems and off-road bikes. Unless built for demonstration or shows, all frames and complete bicycles were tailored to the specific requirements of the customer.
A Thorn "Nomad" touring bike in the Spanish pyrenees Thorn Cycles is a British manufacturer of bicycles based in Bridgwater, Somerset. They specialise in tandems, touring and randonneuring cycles, with their frames manufactured in Taiwan. They have recently become well known for their Raven series of cycles equipped with Rohloff hub gears. These include the Raven Tour expedition tourer, the Sport Tour fast tourer, Sterling mountain bikes and recently the Raven Twin tandem.
When Regan began his collegiate career at Boston University freshmen were not allowed to play on varsity teams. As a result, Regan played for the Terriers' freshman team. In his freshman year he posted an 8–0 record and a 1.12 GAA as the team went undefeated at 17–0. Joining the varsity team the following year, he and teammate Dan Brady formed one of college hockey's "all-time greatest goaltending tandems".
In its first decade it was organised by the Stanley Cycling Club and held at the Royal Aquarium, Westminster specially for "the votaries of wheeling". From the 1886 exhibition it was arranged not by the Stanley Club but by a committee of manufacturers and Stanley Club members. This 1886 exhibition displayed a strong emphasis on dwarf or safety bicycles. There were signs that tandems were replacing the wider and more unwieldy sociables.
In 1926, William Rathbone 'Rath' Pashley founded Pashley and Barber in New John Street West, Birmingham. Pashley and Barber declared that they were 'Manufacturers of every type of cycle' and that 'Birmingham produces the finest cycles, these are Birmingham's best'. The model range included everyday roadsters, clubman racing machines, tradesmen's carrier cycles and tandems. Rath had been apprenticed to the Austin Motor Company before the First World War and saw military service as a despatch rider.
The record from one end of Britain to the other is the longest place-to-place challenge recognised by the Road Records Association. Riders choose their own route but the distance then, before ferries shortened it, was about 900 miles. The first record was set by James Lennox of Dumfries, who took six days and 16 hours in 1885 while being paced by tandems. One of the pacers was George Paterson, who also rode a penny-farthing.
'Fins release four, including Pro Bowl CB Madison He finished his career with the Dolphins starting 127 of 138 games, recording 353 tackles, a sack, 31 interceptions and two touchdowns. For much of his career as a Miami Dolphin, Sam Madison played alongside fellow cornerback Patrick Surtain. During their time together, Madison and Surtain were one of the most prolific cornerback tandems in NFL history, posting a combined 697 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 60 interceptions, and 2 touchdowns.
Baltik vairas offers city, trekking, mountain, kids' bikes as well as e-bikes and custom bicycles such as tandems, tricycles for ice-cream carts, industrial bicycles etc. In total, around 500 different models and over 50 brand-name bicycles are manufactured each year. The company is one of the largest employers in Šiauliai district: there are 320 permanent employees while during the peak season, the number of employees usually exceeds 600. The turnover of Baltik vairas reached 56.1 mln.
In 2004, he was listed as the team's third receiver behind Peter Warrick and Chad Johnson. However, Warrick became injured and Houshmandzadeh was promoted to the starting lineup with Johnson. Houshmandzadeh took advantage of his opportunity to prove himself, recording 73 receptions for 978 yards and four touchdowns. With the release of Warrick during the 2005 training camp, Houshmandzadeh retained the starting position and he and Johnson soon earned recognition for being among the NFL's most exciting receiving tandems.
Probably the most common form of communicating dialed digits between electromechanical switches was sending dial pulses, equivalent to a rotary dial's pulsing, but sent over trunk circuits between switches. In Bell System trunks, it was common to use 20 pulse-per-second between crossbar switches and crossbar tandems. This was twice the rate of Western Electric/Bell System telephone dials. Using the faster pulsing rate made trunk utilization more efficient because the switch spent half as long listening to digits.
A tandem loaded for bicycle touring Tandems are bicycles built for two or more riders. They can make it easier for two or more riders of different abilities to ride together and are also used to allow disabled people to enjoy cycling.Tandem Club (UK), web page about disabled people cycling. Accessed 2012-02-19 A typical traditional upright tandem does not allow for any more luggage than a solo bicycle, but this limitation can be overcome by pulling a trailer.
The nine-pin bowling Single's World Championships is a biennial nine-pin bowling competition organized by the World Ninepin Bowling Association (WNBA NBC). The World Championships was started in 2006, after dividing the championships into Team's and Single's. During the first championships in Skopje, the pairs event took place for the last time in history. Since 2008, the Single's Championships have in the program sprints and mixed tandems events, after removing them from the Team Championships (successively in 2005 and 2007).
Tandems can have more than two riders – tandem refers to the arrangement of the riders one behind the other rather than the number of riders. Bicycles for three, four, or five riders are referred to as "triples" or "triplets", "quads" or "quadruplets", and "quints" or "quintuplets" respectively. One such familiar to UK TV viewers was the "trandem" ridden by The Goodies. Originally a two-rider tandem with an extra "dummy" seat attached, a full three-rider version was built for them by Raleigh.
So Camille Durand (president of the Audax Club Parisien, ACP) organised another PBP at the same time on the same road. Cyclists could ride individually (French allure libre) and there was a limit of 96 hours. 57 participated, among them two women, a tandem with two men, four mixed tandems and a triplet. The 1931 professional event saw victory by Australian Hubert Opperman with a sprint on the finish velodrome after his long solo breakaway was neutralized just outside Paris.
The Critérium des As (Race of the Aces) was a cycle race that was generally held at the end of the season, with entry by invitation only, for the leading riders of the season. Competitors rode behind pacers on tandems or motorcycles. It was held from 1921 until 1990, mostly in Paris, France but also in Switzerland and Holland. The last Critérium des As was held in 1990 and was replaced by the Roue d'Or des As the following year.
After graduating from Lynn Classical Dupuis began attending Boston University in 1954. He joined the varsity squad the following year and helped the team improve to 11–11. As a junior Dupuis led the Terriers in scoring with 6 goals and 25 points while the team posted its first winning season in four years. He was named team co- captain in his senior season and teamed with Don MacLeod on the blueline to form one of the toughest defensive tandems in the nation.
14 The racing was reported as good but the organisation poor: > The worst organisation of the entire XIVth Olympiad cycling events resulted > in the deciding third heat of the tandem final being held at nine o'clock. > It was so dark when the two tandem pairs lined up for the final run that the > Italians, in their blue racing vests, were invisible against the background > of spectators. To put two tandems on the track under such conditions was a > disgrace. The Bicycle, UK, 18 August 1948, p.
Commenced on July 2, 2007, the first week of the show touched on subjects like relationships. The leading episode featured three parent and child tandems: Judy Ann Santos and her mommy Carol; Luis Manzano and his father, actor and game show host Edu Manzano; and Ara Mina and her mother Frances Marie, a former beauty queen. The talk show is being aired from 10:30 to 11:30 in the morning before Pilipinas, Game KNB? where Aquino had her break before and Willie Revillame's Wowowee.
1996–1998 Ford Louisville in Poland Ford Aeromax 9500 in Europe For 1996, the Ford heavy-truck lines were redesigned, the second-generation heavy-truck line was nearly exclusively for Class 8 weight ranges. Chassis weights were increased, front axle GAWRs were available up to , single rear axles to as before, and tandem rear axles to . On tandems a walking beam type was standard and 2 different air suspensions were available. In the redesign, both the Aeromax and Louisville gained a wider cab with a sloping windshield.
Robey supplied the parts, but the modification was undertaken by Goodes of Royston. Ten tandem and two tri- tandem Robey rollers survive in preservation, and one of the tri-tandems is known to have been used to construct parts of the M1 motorway. A variation of the basic configuration was the "convertible": an engine which could be either a steam roller or a traction engine and could be changed from one form to the other in a relatively short time – i.e., less than half a day.
Schoolcraft joined with his old friend George H. Coes in 1874 and they formed "one of the most famous minstrel tandems in history." Schoolcraft & Coes appeared with a number of leading companies including Emerson's Megatherian Minstrels and Barlow, Wilson, Primrose & West. By 1880, the two settled with their families in Cambridge, Massachusetts and continued to tour throughout the country performing their minstrel act in a variety of shows and venues. When Coes was unable to continue his career due to poor health in 1889, the partnership dissolved.
Osborne, Mark (June 25, 2018) Oxford PV takes record perovskite tandem solar cell to 27.3% conversion efficiency. pv-tech.org In March 2020, KAUST-University of Toronto teams reported tandem devices with spin-casted perovskite films on fully textured textured bottom cells with 25.7% in Science Magazine. Nowadays, the research teams show effort to utilize more solution-based scalable techniques on textured bottom cells. Accordingly blade-coated perovskite based tandems were reported by a collaborative team of University of North Carolina and Arizona State University.
There is a device available that connects from the stem to the seat post, to provide a top tube equivalent suitable for mounting in these carriers for step-through frame bicycles that do not have a top tube. Carriers that clamp on the front dropouts may also provide a built-in locking mechanism. Carriers have been developed especially for the rear of pickup trucks that attach either to the bed or its sides. Special long carriers have been developed to support long-wheelbase recumbents and tandems.

2 no more: Auburn stunned at home by Arkansas, Associated Press, October 7, 2006. helping guide the Razorbacks to 11th in the college football rankings.Dick named starter for Arkansas, Associated Press, November 6, 2006. The offense was oriented around what was considered among the nation's best running back tandems, Darren McFadden (who would be the runner- up for the Heisman Trophy), Peyton Hillis, and Felix Jones; as a result, Mustain's statistics did not match his high school numbers in a more pass- oriented offense.
Rallies are held in several countries, and include social events, visits to places of special interest and probably most importantly, tandem rides. These range from short family outings to a local play area to rides of 80 miles or more in an area with challenging terrain. There are more than 40 regional officers in the UK alone who organise local events such as rides and local rallies. The Tandem Club also encourages using tandems as a safe and efficient mode of transport, especially for children and the disabled.
This beam line of glass rings is simply supported by compression at either end of the terminal. As the glass is non-conducting, it could be supported from the ground, but such supports near the terminal could induce a discharge of the terminal, depending on the design. Sometimes the compression is not sufficient, and the entire beam line may collapse and shatter. This idea is especially important to the design of tandems, because they naturally have longer beam lines, and the beam line must run through the terminal.
Assigned to reacquaint with the Lake Erie Monsters, Bacashihua split the season with former NHL goaltender John Grahame to form one of the best performing tandems in the AHL. He was recalled by the Avalanche on one occasion to serve as backup in place of the injured Craig Anderson, however failed to make his Avalanche debut. Returning to the Monsters to set a career professional best in goals against average, Bacashihua appeared in 42 games for 23 wins to help guide the Monsters to their first post-season berth.
Schmitt during his time at West Virginia Schmitt attended spring practice the next year at West Virginia University. A walk-on to the Mountaineers' squad, Schmitt became the starter that fall as a sophomore for the 2005 season and it was a breakout year. He was active as both a rusher and as a primary blocker. At the midpoint of the season, freshman Steve Slaton earned the starting spot at halfback, and with quarterback Pat White at the helm, Schmitt and Slaton teamed up to make one of the best rushing tandems in the NCAA.
The Language Centre is a service to help international students and staff to learn and improve their international language skills covering French, German, Italian and English (levels A1 to C2; see the CEFR language levels). The programs is reserved for EPFL students and personnel, for their spouse (paying French courses only) and for collaborators of the Confederation. Tandems are also organized and set up within the framework of the Tandem Program of the Arts Faculty/EFLE. It includes two people of different mother tongues who meet regularly to teach each other their respective languages.
Over in Cup, he joined the No. 77 Jasper Motorsports team, which became one of the more popular tandems in the Cup circuit among fans. Following his abbreviated Cup run in 1997, Pressley returned full-time in 1998 with the Jasper team, where he posted a then career-best third-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite being replaced temporarily by Hut Stricklin due to injuries, Pressley finished 32nd in points that year. 1999 was a struggle however, as Pressley and company failed to qualify six times that season, and often had trouble finishing races.
Tandem swings are swings designed for use by two people at the same time, facing each other or back-to-back, and are almost always part of a swing set due to the frame required to support the weights of the riders. The bench is perpendicular to its frame’s center crossbar. Face-to-face tandem benches include a subframe with integrated handles and foot pegs. Back-to-back tandems are typically in the baby bucket design, but with two pairs of leg holes, one on each side of the bench.
In 1992, the UWF issued six VHS releases in the United States through Best Film & Video Corporation: Beach Brawl, Tag Team Tandems, The Best of Paul Orndorff, The Lumberjack Match, The Steel Cage Match, and Wrestling's Greatest Champions. In 1993, the UWF released six volumes of PAL videos in Germany through Summit International Pictures under the "Wrestling Super Champs" banner. They were all compilations of Fury Hour matches. The same six "Wrestling Super Champs" volumes were re- released in Germany through Jünger Verlag under the "Super Wrestling" banner.
With 814 career points through the 2016–17 season, Getzlaf is the second-leading scorer in Ducks franchise history behind only Teemu Selänne (985). He and winger Corey Perry have formed one of the NHL's most potent scoring tandems; both were top five in NHL scoring in 2013–14. The duo, who have been called the "twins" in Anaheim, have played together since being drafted in 2003. In addition to pairing up for the Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup championship, they have played together on World Junior Championship and Olympic gold medal teams.
Other notable additions to the Lightning lineup in 1993-94 included first-round draft choice Chris Gratton and a pair of heavyweights Tampa Bay fans would grow to love—Rudy Poeschek and Enrico Ciccone. Poeschek, a defenseman/forward signed as a free agent after time with the Rangers and Winnipeg, stepped into the enforcer role and immediately elicited chants of "Rudy" from ThunderDome crowds. Ciccone was acquired in a late-season deal that sent Joe Reekie to Washington, and "Chico" quickly teamed with Poeschek to form one of the most formidable tandems in the league.
Taylor was signed by the Minnesota Vikings to a four-year, $14.1 million contract on March 12, 2006.Vikings make splash, land RB Taylor, K Longwell On October 22, 2006, Taylor set a Vikings franchise record for longest run from scrimmage when he ran for a 95-yard touchdown in the third quarter, which is also an NFL record for the longest run in the 3rd quarter, against the Seattle Seahawks. He also broke 1000 rushing yards for the first time in his NFL career. Taylor and Adrian Peterson were considered one of the NFL's top running back tandems.
Most often electrostatic accelerators are arranged in a horizontal line. However, some tandems may have a "U" shape, and in principle the beam can be turned to any direction with a magnetic dipole at the terminal. Some electrostatic accelerators are arranged vertically, where either the ion source or, in the case of a "U" shaped vertical tandem, the terminal, is at the top of a tower. A tower arrangement can be a way to save space, and also the beam line connecting to the terminal made of glass rings can take some advantage of gravity as a natural source of compression.
Reuniting him with McGwire, who together were once one of the most explosive tandems in baseball, boosted the team's ticket sales considerably. McGwire was coming off of a majors-leading 52-homer season, and Canseco remained a threat with his tremendous bat speed. However, McGwire's contract was expiring at the end of the season, and he was traded mid-season to the St. Louis Cardinals for pitchers T. J. Mathews, Eric Ludwick, and Blake Stein. Canseco's season was just ordinary, and he signed in the offseason with the Toronto Blue Jays, his fourth team in four years.
Red would move north to the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, where he would play eight seasons (1952 to 1959) and 110 regular season games. He teamed up with CFL great Sam Etcheverry to form one of the best pass and catch tandems in league history. He caught 499 passes for 7,699 yards and 34 touchdowns in his career (all team records until Ben Cahoon recently broke them) and was a five-time all-star. He played in three Grey Cup losses, though the classic 1954 42nd Grey Cup may have been his finest game.
Champion raced behind motor-powered tandems during the 1900 season on outdoor board velodromes in cities from Boston to New York and down the east coast to Atlanta. He competed against riders such as Jimmy Michael and Bobby Walthour Sr. Three years later, he had won 100 races in America and imported a four- cylinder motorcycle from Paris. On July 12, 1903, Champion piloted his 350-pound French motorcycle around an outdoor board track in Cambridge Massachusetts, on what is now the MIT Campus. He drove a mile in 58.8 seconds, a world record on a motorcycle around an elliptical track.
Because of the extra weight and stresses, tandem wheels may use a higher spoke count, sturdier rims, higher pressure tires, a stronger freewheel, dishless spoke configuration, or asymmetric wheels. Tandems wear out rear wheels faster than front wheels; therefore, they may use non-symmetrical wheel setups, such as more spokes or a sturdier rim on the rear wheel. The dish of a wheel measures the amount of asymmetry between the rim and the hub flanges. To accommodate a large cassette, more space is needed on the drive side of the axle; this increases the complexity of manufacturing and truing the wheel.
Spectacular tandems, interlocking talons and falling some distance from the sky are typical of mutual displays. Despite the spectacular and conspicuous nature of their display flights, the crowned eagle is sometimes considered a "clumsy" flier out in the open, lacking the grace and speed attributed to other eagles in a high-flying context, such as large Aquila species. While awaiting food at the nest, both the female and the young call out a penetrating, high kwee-kwee-kwee, that can border on incessant. In disposition, the crowned eagle is considered nervous, constantly alert and on edge.
A man riding an electric bicycle Bicycles can be categorized in many different ways: by function, by number of riders, by general construction, by gearing or by means of propulsion. The more common types include utility bicycles, mountain bicycles, racing bicycles, touring bicycles, hybrid bicycles, cruiser bicycles, and BMX bikes. Less common are tandems, low riders, tall bikes, fixed gear, folding models, amphibious bicycles, freight bicycles, recumbents and electric bicycles. Unicycles, tricycles and quadracycles are not strictly bicycles, as they have respectively one, three and four wheels, but are often referred to informally as "bikes" or "cycles".
Bleacher Report described the Legion of Boom as a monument both to Richard and head coach Pete Carroll, who was a safety himself in his playing days and a defensive backs coach in his early coaching career. Carroll also studied taller cornerback tandems like Mike Haynes and Lester Hayes when assembling the core of defensive backs. Following the 2017 NFL season, the release of Richard Sherman and the career-ending injury of Kam Chancellor changed the Seahawks defense. Over seven seasons, the Legion of Boom's core had consisted of Sherman, Thomas and Chancellor, with the comings and goings of the cornerback opposite Sherman.
Jackson was the wide receivers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals for three seasons. Under Jackson's tutelage in Cincinnati, Chad Johnson and T. J. Houshmandzadeh became one of the most prolific wide-receiving tandems in the NFL. In 2005, the Johnson-Houshmandzadeh tandem combined to total 175 receptions for 2,388 yards, while helping the team secure the AFC North title and a playoff berth for the first time in 15 years. In 2006, Johnson (1,369 yards) and Houshmandzadeh (1,081 yards) became the first pair of Bengals to eclipse the 1,000-yard receiving mark in a single season.
Chase had been using pacing tandems in the past, and even rode behind an electric pacing tandem when he went up against the famous French cyclist Bouhours in Paris in 1898. The use of a fast pacer was not considered cheating at that time, and this must have motivated Chase to have a special pacer custom-made to his design. He commissioned a UK firm to build the machine at the start of 1899, a tandem with a rear-mounted 1.75 hp deDion engine. Both riders pedalled, the front one being responsible for steering, the rear for control of the engine.
The William M. Jennings Trophy is an annual National Hockey League (NHL) award given to "the goaltender(s) having played a minimum of 25 games for the team with the fewest goals scored against it ... based on regular-season play." From 1946 until 1981, the Vezina Trophy had been awarded under that definition, but it was later changed and replaced by the Jennings Trophy. It is named in honor of William M. Jennings, the longtime governor and president of the New York Rangers. Since its beginnings in 1982, it has been awarded at the end of 32 seasons to 53 different players; mostly in tandems of two goaltenders.
So while the system is fine for local connections to the exchange, it is not useful for watching the status of lines on long-distance connections between exchanges. To address this need, the Bell System adopted a second system on the circuits that connected the exchanges. These lines were switched by a system known as a "tandem", which the local exchange would switch to when it recognized the number was not local, typically by dialing a "1" at the beginning of the number. The tandem included the routing systems and long-distance trunk lines needed to talk to tandems at other exchanges, thereby linking the exchanges together.
Single speed tandem bicycle in India A tandem mountain bike A tandem loaded for bicycle touring with front and rear racks and panniers A large tandem, or more specifically, a quint (for 5 people) Tandem bicycle in use in Tokyo The tandem bicycle or twin is a form of bicycle (occasionally a tricycle) designed to be ridden by more than one person. The term tandem refers to the seating arrangement (fore to aft, not side by side), not the number of riders. Patents related to tandem bicycles date from the mid 1880s. Tandems can reach higher speeds than the same riders on single bicycles, and tandem bicycle racing exists.
1986–87 saw Froese lose the starting job for the Flyers to Ron Hextall. After appearing in only 3 games for the Flyers that season, he was traded to the New York Rangers on December 19, 1986, for Kjell Samuelsson and a second-round draft pick. New York Rangers Following his trade to the Rangers, Froese became half of one of the best tandems in the NHL along with the man he lost the Vezina Trophy to the year before, John Vanbiesbrouck. Appearing in only 28 games that season for the Rangers, he set the team record for most penalty minutes in a season, with 56.
Upon joining the team, Mourning and Hardaway quickly became the centerpiece of the Miami Heat; Mourning's defensive presence and rebounding expertise complimented Hardaway's play-making as a point guard, promptly forming one of the most dangerous tandems in the league at the time. With Hardaway and Mourning setting franchise records, a new excitement came from the Miami community. Finishing with a 42–40 record, the Heat made the playoffs for the third time in franchise history, but were swept in three games by the Chicago Bulls. However, the new-look Heat garnered optimism for a bright future, and they would continue to improve the following season.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Edwards was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round (6th overall) in the 1968 NHL Amateur Draft. Besides the Blues (1968–69 to 1969–70 and 1981–82), Edwards played for the Los Angeles Kings (1971–72 to 1976–77), Cleveland Barons/Minnesota North Stars (1976–77 to 1979–80), Edmonton Oilers (1980–81), and Pittsburgh Penguins (1981–82). From 1972–76, he teamed with Rogatien Vachon to give the Los Angeles Kings one of the best goaltender tandems in the NHL. Edwards' best season was 1974-75 when he posted a 2.34 goals against average in 27 games while backing up Vachon.
The Eskimos entered the game as clear underdogs, with one television announcer speculating that the betting odds were 5-to-1 against them. The Montreal Alouettes were led by their record-breaking quarterback Sam Etcheverry, who teamed with receiver Johnny "Red" O'Quinn to form one of Canadian football's legendary pass-and-catch tandems. When combined with an all-star lineup, including Alex Webster, Hal Patterson, Joey Pal, Tex Coulter, and Herb Trawick, the Als won 11 games against 3 losses, and swept the Hamilton Tiger Cats in both playoff games. They beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 2-games-to-1 in the division final series.
Most conventional bicycle wheels now use 32 or 36 spokes front and rear, although the asymmetry of the rear wheel (to allow for the cluster of sprockets), and the additional weight it carries, means it benefits from having more spokes than the front. Commonly used models vary from 18 spokes for racing bikes to 36 for cross-country touring bikes to 48 spokes on tandems and heavily abused BMX bikes. The minimum number of spokes allowed for competition is 12.UCI Competition Rules - Some lowrider bicycles use as many as 144 brightly chromed spokes per wheel, although these are not meant for serious riding.
The network would soon overtake GMA in the afternoon timeslots with the rise of its 2018 series Kadenang Ginto. The show features the rivaling tandems of Dimples Romana and Beauty Gonzalez, and the up-and-coming teen duo Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz, and is the country's first TV drama with an all-female prime lead cast group. The show also marked the television comebacks of leading men Albert Martinez, Luis Alandy and Richard Yap. During the same decade, the live format for teleserye final episodes returned on Philippine television for the first time since the finale of GMA's 2007 Philippine remake of Marimar.
Todman (left) and Dixon (center) talk to running backs coach Terry Richardson on the sideline The Connecticut offense was led by the rushing attack of running backs Jordan Todman and Andre Dixon, who were described as "one of the best running-back tandems in the nation". The two combined for 27 touchdowns and more than 2,100 rushing yards during the regular season. South Carolina linebacker Eric Norwood described Todman as a speedy back, with "that burst and that breakaway speed to go with it", and compared him to Clemson running back C. J. Spiller. In contrast, Norwood described Dixon as a "taller, more downhill back, vertical guy".
"Pick and Roll" is an offensive play in which a player stops to screen (block) a defender for the teammate handling the ball and then slips behind the defender to accept a pass as the handler makes a move towards the basket. In the NBA, John Stockton and Karl Malone were a quintessential pick and roll tandem and used this play to great effect in the 1990s. Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire proved to be extremely effective at the pick and roll throughout the 2000s. Kyrie Irving and LeBron James and Blake Griffin and Chris Paul were considered among the best contemporary pick and roll tandems.
The next year, he was moved to cornerback, where he struggled for four years in a backup and starter role. Waters was eventually moved to Strong Safety in 1975 to replace Cowboys great Cornell Green, responding with 3 interceptions for 55 yards and a touchdown. That season, the Cowboys won the NFC Championship but lost Super Bowl X to the Pittsburgh Steelers. As a strong safety he became an All-Pro and along with Cliff Harris, formed one of the best safety tandems of that era. He was like a coach on the field, with excellent instincts and the athletic ability, to become one of the league’s top defensive players of the decade.
However, as the target becomes thinner or the projectile becomes more energetic, the amount of energy deposited in the foil becomes less and less. Tandems locate the ion source outside the terminal, which means that accessing the ion source while the terminal is at high voltage is significantly less difficult, especially if the terminal is inside a gas tank. So then an anion beam from a sputtering ion source is injected from a relatively lower voltage platform towards the high voltage terminal. Inside the terminal, the beam impinges on a thin foil (on the order of micrograms per square centimeter), often carbon or beryllium, stripping electrons from the ion beam so that they become cations.
Tandem rear wheels tend to run a wider hub/axle to allow the right-side hub flange to be further right of wheel center and thus reduce the total dish of the wheel. Some modern tandems use a 160-mm-wide axle that allows a wheel that is completely "dishless" (i.e. symmetric). The disadvantage is this may increase the Q-factor of the stoker's cranks and may also cause "heel-strike" of the stoker's shoes on the chain stays. Others use shorter axles (often 145mm wide) thereby trading a little decrease in the strength of the wheel for the advantage of a similar decrease in the bending moment of the axle spindle.
In 1920 the Critérium de la résistance was run from Bordeaux to Paris (Longchamp) and back to Bordeaux, and is regarded as the forerunner of Critérium des As. The paced event was won by Louis Mottiat of Belgium, in 56 hours and 48 minutes. In 1921 the best riders of the season were invited to enter the Critérium des As, 27 laps of a 3.63 km circuit around Longchamp. They rode alone except for pacers who helped on occasional laps, not being fast enough to last longer. Crowds of up to 6,000 watched in the years before the World War II. The individual pacers were replaced by tandems, triplets, motorcycles and finally specialist Derny lightweight motorcycles in 1947.
After the 2000 season, Ramirez signed with the Boston Red Sox. During his time in Boston, Ramirez and teammate David Ortiz became one of the best offensive tandems in baseball history. Ramirez led the Red Sox to World Series Championships in 2004 and 2007 before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008 as part of a three team deal that also involved the Pittsburgh Pirates. In Ramirez was suspended 50 games for violating baseball's drug policy by taking human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a women's fertility drug that is often taken after steroids. In the spring of 2011, Ramirez was informed by MLB of another violation of its drug policy, and a 100-game suspension.
Respert was a standout at Michigan State. He and point guard Eric Snow combined to form one of the nation's most prolific backcourt tandems for head coach Jud Heathcote's Spartans. Respert was the team's leading scorer all four seasons at Michigan State and finished his career second all-time in scoring among Big Ten players with 2,531 points (trailing only Calbert Cheaney) and first in Big Ten games with 1,545 points scored. He capped a brilliant career by being named a unanimous first team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year and Sporting News and NABC National Player of the Year with a 25.6 scoring average during his 1994–95 senior season.
Firstly, the 101 km ride was split into two sections - an 'Elite' category, for those wishing to race for the winner's prizes on offer, and an 'Individual' category, for those wanting to ride the 101 km course but not wanting to race against the top competitive cyclists. A section was added for tandems, who rode the full 101 km course, and for penny farthings, who rode the shortened 15 km course. The category for cancer sufferers remained, and a total of 1540 entries were received. 2007 saw additional changes. The 'Elite' categories were rebranded as the 'Speed Bunnies' categories, and the distance for the male 'Speed Bunnies' was increased to 160 km.
This included future NHL Star Paul Kariya, and highly touted identical twin forwards Peter and Chris Ferraro. This caliber of talent joining Maine's all-time leading scorer Jim Montgomery, "Little" Cal Ingraham, defensive stalwart Chris Imes, and arguably one of the best goaltending tandems in college hockey history in Garth Snow and Mike Dunham, Maine was set up to make a historic run. Kariya scored a single season school record 100 points, while Montgomery put an exclamation point on the end of his successful college years finishing with a school record 301 career points. All this was en route to an amazing 42–1–2 season record, an HEA regular season title, the HEA conference championship, and their first-ever national championship.
Tandem bicycles are used in competitions such as the Paralympics with blind and visually impaired cyclists riding as stokers with fully sighted captains. Frank Michael Reich Jr. (; ; born December 4, 1961) is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League (NFL). Reich played college football at the University of Maryland and was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the third round of the 1985 NFL draft; he also played for the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets and Detroit Lions. Reich and Bills starting quarterback Jim Kelly formed one of the longest-tenured backup-and-starter tandems, playing together for nine seasons from 1986 to 1994. For a time, Reich had the distinction of having led his team to the biggest comeback victory ever in both the college and NFL ranks, including a 32-point comeback for the Bills in 1993.
Conner, Desmond."Two Assistants Join Coaching Staff", Hartford Courant, March 29, 1998, retrieved May 4, 2018. At UConn, McNulty helped wide receiver Carl Bond earn Division I-AA All- America honors in 1997. McNulty spent six seasons in the NFL, the first five in Jacksonville as an offensive quality control coach (1998-2000) and wide receivers coach (2000-02). In Jacksonville, McNulty worked with one of the NFL’s top receiving tandems in Jimmy Smith and Keenan McCardell. During the 2000-01 seasons, the pair combined for 390 receptions and 4,903 yards, while Smith earned All-Pro honors both years. In 2002, Smith had 80 receptions for 1,027 yards, his seventh consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season. McNulty helped Jacksonville to playoff appearances in 1998 (11-5 record) and in 1999 (14-2 record).
However, one of the greatest tandems to form was the Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal pairing at the LA Lakers during the early 2000s. O'Neal was signed as a free agent from the Orlando Magic and was widely considered one of the most dominant big-men of all time to have played in the NBA. He joined the Lakers with a young Kobe Bryant and together would form a potent duo that would win a three-peat together before in-fighting and arguments had dismantled the super duo with O'Neal being traded to the Miami Heat. However, O'Neal would become a hall-of- famer and Laker legend by accumulating 15 All-Star, 14 All-NBA, an MVP, three Finals MVP and four NBA Championships whilst Bryant remained at the Lakers and had 18 All-Star, 15 All-NBA, an MVP, two Finals MVP.
UEFA Golden Jubilee inductee, Safet Sušić. Former FK Sarajevo winger Zijad Švrakić signing for Galatasaray S.K. FK Sarajevo had a second successful spell between 1978 and 1985, led by the attacking duo Predrag Pašić – Safet Sušić, which established itself among the most prolific tandems in Yugoslav and Bosnian football history. Predrag Pašić nicknamed "Paja" was a winger or striker and had emerged through the club's youth ranks, eventually going on to play for Sarajevo up until his move to VfB Stuttgart after the title winning season in 1985. On the other hand, Sušić nicknamed "Pape" played the positions of playmaker and attacking midfielder, and wore the maroon-white jersey from 1973 to 1982, when he moved to Paris Saint-Germain F.C.. In 1978–79, Sušić scored 15 goals and was named Player of the Season as Sarajevo finished fourth.
Linear-pull brake, also known by the Shimano trademark: V-Brake, on rear wheel of a mountain bike Bicycle brakes may be rim brakes, in which friction pads are compressed against the wheel rims; hub brakes, where the mechanism is contained within the wheel hub, or disc brakes, where pads act on a rotor attached to the hub. Most road bicycles use rim brakes, but some use disk brakes. Disc brakes are more common for mountain bikes, tandems and recumbent bicycles than on other types of bicycles, due to their increased power, coupled with an increased weight and complexity. fork and hub With hand-operated brakes, force is applied to brake levers mounted on the handlebars and transmitted via Bowden cables or hydraulic lines to the friction pads, which apply pressure to the braking surface, causing friction which slows the bicycle down.
Gabriel, along with All-American Makare Desilets, formed one of the nation's best blocking tandems, leading the Huskies to the top of the NCAA blocking rankings in 1997. A Pac-10 first-team selection as a junior, Gabriel ranks in the UW career top-10 in five categories, including total blocks (second - 613) and block assists (second - 520).. She also ranked in the top-25 nationally in blocks per game in each of her four seasons at Washington. After completing her eligibility in 1998, Gabriel trained with the United States women's national volleyball team program and was selected to participate at the 1999 Universiade (also known as the World University Games) in Spain. She returned to Washington to complete her degree and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Psychology degree and a minor in speech communications.
Sharpe was the first round, seventh overall, draft pick by the Packers in 1988 and had an immediate impact on the team. In his rookie season, he started all sixteen games and caught 55 passes. His sophomore season he led the league with 90 receptions, the first Packer to do so since Don Hutson in 1945, and broke Hutson's records for receptions and receiving yards in a season. Sharpe was known as a tough receiver with strong hands, who was willing to go over the middle to make difficult catches in traffic. A few years later, in 1992, Sharpe and the new quarterback, Brett Favre, teamed up to become one of the top passing tandems in the league. In the final game of that season, Sterling and Favre hooked up for Sharpe's 107th reception of the season which broke the NFL's single-season receptions record, set by Art Monk in 1984.
Mahaffey was born on January 4, 1934, in Clovis, New Mexico. A football and track star at Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, New Mexico and at the University of Denver, Mahaffey put University of Denver football on the map in 1954. Mahaffey's still name dots Denver's record book. An honorable mention All-Skyline Conference member in 1953, Mahaffey broke out in 1954, rushing for 813 yards and 12 touchdowns while earning All-America and first-team All-Skyline Conference honors. Finishing ninth in the country in rushing yards, he and teammate Fred Tesone formed one of the top rushing tandems in the nation as the two combined for 2,528 yards, outrushing their opponents by over a 2-to-1 margin and helping the Pioneers to a 9–1 record, the first outright conference championship since 1917 and the second-best season in school history.
Safet Sušić represented the club for nearly a decade before moving to PSG. He managed Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Sarajevo had a second successful spell between 1978 and 1985, led by the attacking duo Predrag Pašić – Safet Sušić, which established itself among the most prolific tandems in Yugoslav and Bosnian football history. The maximum theoretical efficiency is 37, 50, 56, 72% for 1, 2, 3, 36 pn junctions, respectively, with the number of junctions increasing exponentially to achieve equal efficiency increments. The exponential relationship implies that as the cell approaches the limit of efficiency, the increase cost and complexity grow rapidly. Decreasing the thickness of the top cell increases the transmission coefficient T. An InGaP hetero-layer between the p-Ge layer and the InGaAs layer can be added in order to create automatically the n-Ge layer by scattering during MOCVD growth and increase significantly the quantum efficiency QE(λ) of the bottom cell. InGaP is advantageous because of its high scattering coefficient and low solubility in Ge. Currently, there are several commercial (nonperovskite) multi-junction technologies including tandems and triple- and quadruple-junction modules that typically use III to V semiconductors, with promising power conversion efficiency that rival and even outperform the benchmark silicon solar cells.
Scott was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round (30th pick overall) of the 1994 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he made an immediate impact teaming with Carl Pickens to form one of the NFL's most potent wide receiver tandems. He caught touchdown passes of 55 and 67 yards against the two-time defending Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys, finishing the contest with 4 receptions for 155 yards. The following week against the Seattle Seahawks he turned in yet another spectacular effort with 7 catches for 157 yards (including a 76-yard catch). He finished the season with 46 catches for 866 yards and 5 touchdowns while rushing for 106 yards in 10 attempts. He led all rookies with 866 receiving yards and the AFC in Yards Per Reception with 18.8. His success continued in 1995 as he caught a career long 88-yard touchdown pass against Seattle Seahawks and the following week caught a 56-yard touchdown finishing the game with 4 catches for 125 yards in a win against the Houston Oilers. In 1997 he caught the final pass thrown by Bengals QB Boomer Esiason: a 77-yard touchdown reception.
Fuhr played ten seasons for the Oilers, where he teamed up first with Andy Moog, then Bill Ranford to form one of the most formidable goaltending tandems in history, winning the Stanley Cup four times in five seasons (1983-84 through '87-88). Moog was given the starting job in the 1983 playoffs, and helped lead the Oilers to their first Stanley Cup Finals, though they were swept by the New York Islanders, who captured their fourth straight Stanley Cup. The next year general manager and head coach Glen Sather chose to go with Fuhr in the 1984 playoffs, though Fuhr was injured in the third game of the Stanley Cup Finals in a rematch against the Islanders when he collided with Pat LaFontaine, so Moog stepped in and led the Oilers to a series win. Thereafter, Fuhr remained the number one goaltender. Fuhr was also involved with the infamous goal where Steve Smith scored on his own net to cost the Oilers the '86 playoffs against the Calgary Flames. Fuhr was the team's starting goaltender on the first four teams, but was injured and did not play in the 1990 playoffs, when the Oilers won for the fifth time.
The original Conquistadors were a masked foreign heel team consisting of Puerto Rican wrestlers José Estrada Sr. and José Luis Rivera, billed as being "from somewhere in Latin America," who were used mainly as enhancement talent. They had one pay-per-view appearance, as part of the 10-team elimination match at the Survivor Series 1988, where The Conquistadors and The Powers of Pain were the last two teams left in the ring. After shocking the wrestling world by outlasting several formidable tandems, The Conquistadors eventually lost when Mr. Fuji tripped up Uno and The Barbarian hit him with a headbutt to win the match for The Powers of Pain. The Conquistadors spent the rest of 1988 and 1989 jobbing to established teams, except some rare victories including a win over the Young Stallions, two wins over the Rockers, a win over The Killer Bees, wins over the teams of Terry Taylor and Sam Houston, jobber tag teams Brady Boone and Omar Atlas, and John Latu and Bob Emory, and a victory over The Fabulous Rougeaus in Canada in a heel vs heel match. In 1989, Estrada started to appear on his own as “The Conquistador” while Rivera appeared only sporadically before both men left the WWF.
He was named to 3 Pro Bowls and named All-Pro twice while with the Cardinals. He signed as a free agent by the San Francisco 49ers on April 7, 1993. In 1993, McDonald would again perform at a high level being named to the NFC Pro Bowl squad. During that season, he donated $2,000 for every 49ers victory to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Bay Area, netting $22,000 for those organizations. In 1994, McDonald helped the 49ers win Super Bowl XXIX. That season, McDonald recorded 76 tackles, 2 INTs, 7 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 defensive touchdowns while being part of a San Francisco secondary that sent 3 players to the Pro Bowl, SS Tim McDonald, FS Merton Hanks, and NFL Defensive Player of the Year CB Deion Sanders. That season while teaming with free safety Merton Hanks, they would arguably as a tandem, become one of the best safety tandems in NFL history as they combined for 7 Pro Bowls and 5 All-Pro selections from 1994–1998 in 5 seasons respectively. McDonald continued his stellar play throughout his entire 49ers career until he retired after the 1999 season Being named to 3 Pro Bowls and named and 2nd team All-Pro twice.
